Just speculating here, but I wonder if that show with the strong winds and gusts stirred up too much dust and messed with her nasal passages? She seems so cautious of dust (see Wiltern interview). Again, just guessing.

Good point. Workload is a relative thing, and while I wouldn't equate what Stevie does with working down a mine or anything, it's not nothing either. And, as you say, would be a reasonable shift even for someone half her age. I hope she gets back to full strength soon.
Sorry for the frustration of anyone who had tickets to this show.

I doubt the Indiana stage collapse has anything to do with it - Stevie plays on stages that are permanent structures, not crappy ones put together by carnies. Well, I guess Sturgis was a temporary stage, thank goodness nothing happened there.
Sorry about your mom, J.

Well, the worst part is that I flew to New York for the Webster Hall show that got cancelled... and then she announced the Wiltern show, which is outrageously closer to me, and I almost couldn't go!
I think we'll be fine for Jones Beach, though. She's playing Bethel, taking one day off, doing two shows in a row and then she has 3 days off....

Well I live in Mass and took the whole week off from work for Webster Hall and the Borgata and I lost out. I couldnt give back the vacation time. I am super concerned about Boston and Jones Beach at this point. Fingers crossed. I just don't wanna drive 4.5 hours to Jones Beach and have to cancel.

Oh wow.I wonder the Sturgis wind also has something to do about it.I hope she will get better soon. Also if they schedule her shows farther apart with days off.this will give her more rest time. With this Slap together last minute tour schedule they came up with does not help her.
Ya I 'm glad somebody did get ahold of DavidMN.
A security guy last night mentioned she wasn't feeling well. I didn't want to say anything here and cause anyone to worry.
Stevie also said something herself at the end of the night like "you can obviously tell by my voice tonight _________. " I can't remember how she finished the sentence - whether she said she was starting to feel ill or something about allergies or what.

She was fine Friday night but her voice seemed strained last night to me in Houston. I noticed a couple of times that she didn't try for the high notes she hit in Dallas the night before. I'm sure going from outside with all the wind at Sturgis to inside in Dallas with the AC cranked to back outside in the heat in Houston had something to do with it. She went 3 nights in a row with no break. I hope she's ok and that you guys going to Atlanta get a new date soon :(

You're right, she did. I didn't hear the rest of that sentence either. I thought her voice sounded fine - overall not the "on fire" performance she gave at the Wiltern, but I was expecting that, due to the heat and 3rd show fatigue.
Her tours, like most artists, are scheduled so that she doesn't do three nights in a row.

Yeah, Neti pots are better 'cause you're rinsing out all the crud, thereby preventing any symptoms that you would have to treat with medication.

Check with your airline cause usually they will credit your ticket value towards a future flight up to a year from the day you were supposed to use it but will charge a change fee of $100 or so for that. I know many people who have had to do that.

Given the state fair incident, I think it's entirely possible that shows in Indy may be canceled or postponed until they can further investigate what happened. Maybe Stevie's people already know that or else someone goofed up big time.

Yeah, I think she wasn't feeling well when she said that Friday night. . But she said it right after disciplining the women filming her so she could have just been angry with them still.. But, having been to both Dallas and Houston, I could tell a diff in Houston, she just seemed a little less energetic and her voice wasn't as strong ( the show was still incredible though ).. So I think she really was worn down and having vocal problems from doing three shows back to back. Just my opinion. I really hope everything gets rescheduled :(

I feel upset with you guys that have started travel to the shows involve.I remember when this happen in May with the Webster/Altantic City shows were canceled.luckly I 'm close by I quickly dumped the travel plans with little or no cost.No problem with the concert ticket refunds either. Only once I got caught in my travels going up to SPAC in Saratoga Springs for her show. The show was canceled due to a bad storm that blew the place apart.I got to the place and they were only a couple of cars in the big parking area. There was a TV news van parked in the lot across from me.So I walked over to see whats up.The news reporter told my the show was canceled due to the storm that ripped through Saratoga Springs.Oh will sat around rest for an hour and went back home.No internet ,No cellphone.Didn't tune in local radio.Listen to Stevie tapes on the way up.How would I know .Couldn't call the place.I was on the road all day.
Ok I hope by tomorrow you guys will get better details from Stevie's people and Livenation when they bicker around for the new dates for these shows.

Agreed..Stevie should perhaps do a few exhibition type shows like the one at the Wiltern and film them for a DVD we can all purchase and stick to recording at this point in her life.In Your Dreams proves she can still do great work in the studio. The full on touring as a rock and roll star may be just too much for her at this age.She did not tolerate it well 30 + years ago.

Monday’s Stevie Nicks concert at Chastain Park Amphitheatre has been postponed until Wednesday, Aug. 17.
A release from concert promoter Live Nation cites a medical reason as cause for the switch.
Tickets for Monday’s show can be used at the new date. Also, some additional seats have just been released.
The 8 p.m. show time with opener Michael Grimm remains the same.
Refunds, if necessary, are available at point of purchase.
To purchase tickets (priced at $40-$75), visit www.livenation.com or call 1-800-745-3000.

Although I know it's a hassle for fans, what I truly am most concerned about is Stevie. But I feel like her team around her should be extremely cautious. They just need to be sensitive and realistic that although her heart has the energy of a teenager, her body just recovered from Pneumonia which is dangerous at her age. They know this. They also know she is vulnerable to allergies, epstein-barre syndrome, etc... So why oh why do you ever schedule a tour with 3 nights in a row. Actually to be smart, and knowing Stevie's history and knowing that she did a ton of press before the tour began, I would have her on a strict schedule of one show on and the next night off. For her, never had 2 nights in a row. It isn't worth it if she gets sick so why chance that when at her age, the odds are that she'll get sick if she pushes herself? The more we put Stevie's best interests first, the healthier she'll be and ultimately more reliable she'll be and then fans can count on that.
Man I hope her illness is really only a 2 day recovery period.

Well, the way I look at it as someone who travels to alot of shows is this is part of the deal. Shows are going to get cancelled once in awhile. Live to fight another day:nod:

Live Nation is selling the Indy tickets. You can choose your own seats and see exactly what is available. Last I checked a few days ago, thousands of seats were still available. The show isn't selling well at all.

Yeah, I just checked and you're right. I'm so bummed, I have tickets to Indy, my girlfriend is flying out from Maryland tomorrow night and we have a hotel room booked. I'm sure Indy will just get cancelled and not rescheduled. If she really planned to play Indy, she would have just done the date scheduled. The fact that she rescheduled another show for the same date pretty much confirms it for me.
I have tickets to both Ohio show and if any of those get cancelled....I don't even want to think of it :(

With a capacity of 6,000 under the roof... it looks like about 80-85% of those tix were sold which isn't bad I don't think... Not sure how many general admission lawn tickets were sold because there's no assigned seating to give you an indication.

Yeah, Indianapolis looks pretty well sold. If anything, Atlanta appears to be the poor seller; I had no trouble finding front ORCH seats. In addition, I wonder how many people will have to forfeit their tickets due to the date change.
Well, unless Stevie has a twin that we don't know about, there is no way that she's going to be in IN & GA the same day @ the same time. Live Nation has really screwed up.
Sorry to you people going to the Atlantic show. Hopefully they'll get the rescheduled day straightened out. :sorry:

Maybe her taking IYD out of the set and putting back in Landslide, and then eventually taking Sorcerer out, is because she was getting tired/sick. IYD is a really fast tempo song and probably takes a lot of energy, while Landslide isn't/doesn't.
I'm so confused really. It's safe to assume that Atlanta on Wednesday IS going to happen right? And that something else will have to be worked out with Indy? I just need to know so I can make plans accordingly.

I feel the same way. Luckily my class schedule is the same Monday/Tuesday as it is Wednesday/Thursday so it all works out for me, really, and hasn't been much of a problem at all (aside from the initial shock factor/confusion/notifying my cousin). Still, I feel bad that Indy has now been cancelled and all those people will be disappointed :(

Sucks that some of you guys are stuck in limbo on these shows. And yeah, i agree we should hand out antibacterial wipes for the Edge walk! I actually almost brought Stevie antibacterial gel to the Amoeba signing, but decided not to cuz i didn't want to make Karen look bad, LOL.
I think anytime you travel you can get sick of course. It also doesn't help to book two shows back to back either. I hope she reschedules Indy- it's not like there's not time.

Just got the call and email from LiveNation about the reschedule of the Atlanta show. Glad I didn't jump on that plane at 6am this morning. Actually if it wasn't for this message board I wouldn't have known what was going on. Notifying you roughly 8 hours before the scheduled start of a show is not enough time if traveling.
Hopefully this will be a great concert. The additional cost are "killing" me, never mind the stress of it all.

Indeed, Lori always has the dubious honor of holding hands with Stevie immediately after the Edge walk. Yet strangely she never seems to be sick.

It could be an illness who knows also it could be ticket sales saying she is sick sounds better than hearing poor sales of tickets too. I hope she is feeling better if it is an illness. I have a feeling its poor sales if it was close to sell out show they would have postponed it not to lose the money from that show so my guess is more likely poor sales than an illness. First of all, she is sick.. She told the crowd Saturday night in Houston that she was sick and her voice wasn't right, I was there. And I could tell a difference between Friday and Saturday nights. I don't think Stevie would lie just to cover up poor ticket sales. :sorry:

I know how you feel. FM cancelled Vancouver during The Dance and we had 3rd row. It was devastating. They never rescheduled.
I hope that doesn't happen to you again.
Fingers crossed and good thoughts to Stevie to get better really soon.
FM canceled the Bristow, Va. (Nissan Pavilion) show in 2004 because Stevie was ill. It would have been on her 56th birthday.
The next year, she decided to make her solo stop in Bristow on July 10, which is MY birthday. I guess that makes up for not being able to see her on HER birthday.
On a more serious note, I heard Indy didn't sell well, so that might also be a factor in terms of deciding whether a venue is a reschedule or a cancellation.

She is sick people. Her concerts are selling well. She is working herself ragged for this album. She is not only doing concerts but doing promotions for each concert. She was trying to make up for being sick at the beginning of Spring.
Traveling around the country, collecting germs at the age of 63 does not promote health. She is contact with thousands of people and her body needs time to recouperate.

I see someone selling their front Pit area season tickets for 90 each (which is face value plus standard fees), will hold at box office under your name. Some of the brokers are unloading their tickets also. Apparently live nation opened up some "box" seating as well.
Hope to see some of you there. I'll be in Pit Row 11 seat 13 if you want to say "Hi"...Brian

Yup, that may be your best bet! I remember going to Hollywood Bowl for the "Dance" tour, when I arrived at the will call they said my credit card was denied or something and the ticket was released. I was in a panic state. I said there must be a mistake. They offered to check for another ticket and a 2nd row seat came up, which was far better than the one I originaly ordered. This concept may be hard for the younger Ledgies to grasp but for the Tusk tour the high ticket price was $15.50 and believe it or not, that was a lot of freakin' money back then!!!

Yes, and good tickets were nearly impossible to obtain or shows sold out very, very quickly. There was typically a single pricing tier throughout the arena such that the $15.50 ticket price was applied, regardless of whether you were in the front row or in the back row of the nosebleeds. High ticket prices are a double-edged sword. They suck, but at least they help to ensure the availability of good seats. Today it is still possible to find tickets to concerts in the $20 - $45 range; however, you are going to sit in the back.

That isn't the whole problem; it's the size of the venues that is the major issue. She would have been better served playing a few nights @ Radio City or a similar venue. But, since it seems LiveNation's philosophy is "greed is good", we get outdoor sheds that she hasn't got a snowball's chance in h*ll of filling. But, LiveNation recoups the investment by charging exhorbitant prices for the prime seats, which get sold either to "true" fans or brokers. Selling the cheaper seats is just gravy.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain Stevie gets paid no matter how many tickets are sold, what is called an "artist's guarantee". LiveNation's escape clause is easy-cancel the show if it's not economically feasible.

Yes i remember very well on that beautiful day when i fluked meeting the band, Stevie happily asked me if we were going to their concert that night? I was so embarrassed to mention that i only had $10 left in my purse with 3 vacation days remaining, so on the spot:shocked:, i opted to tell a white lie:eek:, & told her we WERE going... not to disappoint her... My biggest regret ever for not borrowing that extra cash needed, to see their Tusk Concert:mad: So yes $15.50 ticket price's back then were not cheap...

BTW.lets pray for Stevie to get will and let her sing her heart out for us.
I used the electronic copy option through stubhub. So I downloaded them directly off of stubhub (ostensibly safer). I think it'll be ok...

The reason she's playing some of these massive venues is because Live Nation owns the venues, and with them as the promoter it's hard to play another better suited venue...

For anyone in or near Atlanta that is contemplating the show but doesn't have a ticket yet, as of a couple of hours ago, Empire Tickets in Atlanta had a single front row pit seat for $155 before fees and whatnot. They also had four seats in pit row 2 for a little less. I haven't used Empire before this show, so I can't vouch for them yet, but it might be worth a try.

She said she really appreciated us listening to her new songs and how much it meant to her as a songwriter and that we listened with grace. She said they'd be back to Atlanta, they loved Atlanta. My paraphrase but she was very genuine. Oh, and there were several of us standing and singing along with For What It's Worth. So much that she could hear us and at the end she was really tickled about it and said "Now, on Landslide I want to hear you singing the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th harmony! All the harmony parts!" LOL - that was cute. Then before Landslide she mentioned the song was about whether or not she should break up with Lindsey and then she smiled really big and kinda laughed as she said, "I guess I made the right decision! I guess!" LOL! And she went on to say that the song has all the memories of that time wrapped up in it.
Oh and by the way - she looks fabulous!! These pics do not do her justice. You can tell she's really trimmed down. And, the corset on the outside of the dress does not look bad at all in person. It looks a little odd to me in pictures.

I didn't notice it much. Maybe once when she started chatting which she did try not to do, but bless her heart she is just a chatty cathy and has a hard time trying not to talk. Anyway, she didn't sound overly hoarse but I did get the feeling that if she continued talking it could easily go that way. She saved most of the talking for her thanks at the end and Soldier's Angel besides her little speech about Landslide which was fairly brief. In fact, prior to Moonlight she had told us she would not be talking as much and on the intro to that song she simply said, "Moonlight - A Vampire's Dream".

Good! She talks way too much during her shows these days. For me, all that chatter kills the momentum, flow and mystery of the show. And I don't think most people, except maybe us Ledgies, necessarily want to hear her go on and on and on like she does.

Just got back home. She was AMAZING. Seriously, her voice sounded phenomenal, and she really seemed to be having fun the whole night. She was darned cute.
When she was introducing Annabel Lee, she was like, "This song was written by Edgar Allan Poe, and he's going to be singing it with me!" And she put her arm around an imaginary person and then introduced herself to him, like, "Edgar, Stevie. Stevie, Edgar."
After GAG, she went up to the mic and was like, "At the first show I tried to walk to the sides of the stage and play the tambourine for everyone, but then I realized you couldn't hear it unless I was right in front of the mic! So I'm pushing to invent something that can go on my tambourine so I can dance around and you can still hear. 'Cause If I'm going to play like this [insert Stevie playing the tambourine here], I want you guys to hear it!" (paraphrased, but, y'know. The gist.)
Also of note: she got choked up at the end of Soldier's Angel.
And like CADreaming said, she did tell everyone that next time, she wanted to hear everyone singing second and third harmonies on FWIW :)
THEY PLAYED THE FWIW MUSIC VIDEO IN THE BACKGROUND. Did they do that before? I hadn't heard that they did but it's hard to catch everything sometimes. But seriously, it was so amazing. I cried a little bit, not even gonna lie. If people haven't seen it yet, I can elaborate, 'cause I watched it the whole time.
ummm what else.
Oh, during Love Is.. Stevie started singing, "Do you know what this is? No, I don't." And someone a few rows up goes "Yeah, neither do I!" which, I realize was rude, but was kind of clever.
Her voice was in top form. This is the best I've heard her sound all year. Also, she does look really, really thin, and the pictures don't do her justice. The outfits aren't unflattering at all in reality.

Had they shown the music video before?
Well, if not...
It was beautiful, MUCH better than CTF or Secret Love. As you might have imagined, it was Stevie in a tour bus, basically, travelling across a desert. There wasn't much of a 'storyline' so-to-speak, it was more a vignette of that time, I guess. They showed her in the tour bus drawing, writing, playing guitar (<3), laughing and talking to people, getting her make-up done. I think Dave was supposed to be her love interest - in some of the shots she was sitting with his arms around her and they were holding hands. They showed Mike Campbell getting on the bus, and all of them hanging out on the bus, etc. There were BEAUTIFUL shots of her standing in the desert alone in a very flowy, black chiffon dress that was a lot like her older ones - with the layered handkerchief skirt and all. The wind was blowing and it was a silhouette... it was breathtaking. Lots of close-ups of Stevie's face and Stevie's profile looking out the window. She looked incredible. I have to say the editing was really nice on this and it was just natural and picturesque and it really fit the song.

Thanks for sharing this! I really wanted to watch the video and all the stuff on the screen but I ended up just watching Stevie the entire time.

The gist.) .
LOL!! The EAP thing was too funny!!
I remember she said something like "So, now I'll introduce all my little tamborinists!" after the tambo comment when she was going into the band intros.

I think she should continue going from side to side with the tambo even if you can't hear it from the audience... It's a visual thing and I think people kinda know what a tambourine sounds like anyway.

I can't get over how awesome the video was. I mean, maybe it was just the heat of the moment thing - I was SO surprised to see it, and excited, and no one around me knew what the hell I was talking about or gave a crap haha. But anyway, I really hope that it gets officially released soon so everyone can see it, and I can watch it again and take it all in in a more controlled environment ;)
Did anyone get any videos? I got like, part of Edge, and all of GDW.. but I was dancing/freaking out so the video is shaky, and the sound isn't that great either haha.

Has anyone noticed a video for Soldiers Angel? At the woodlands, I didn't pay attention to the screen until the very end and I saw Stevoe standing in a long dress in an empty room!

I haven't noticed a video, but last night this photo was on the screen for the entire song until the end:
http://rockalittle.com/nicksfix041.jpg
Then, it was Stevie in a black dress at either the Lincoln memorial or the White House, I believe. There were huge columns in the photo. Very eerie!
Also, that reminded me.... previous concert photos showed the screens had a photo of flag-draped caskets. Well, apparently she didn't like that - right after she sang she read the information from the teleprompter about giving to the USO and went on to emphasize the song was not for "the ones who didn't make it back, it's for the ones who did make it back" and she asked if we could to give anything at all to help them, that they needed our help and it was important.

Here are a few photos from my phone during Edge & her thanks which was really sweet.
Nice pictures. They don't even look like phone photos. They almost look like they have an effect going through them.

And, she did specify it wasn't her singing that hurt the throat it was the talking and how she had done so many interviews and press for promoting IYD that it had taken it's toll.

lol. But then again I feel sorry for those of you that planned to go to the Indy show.
Ohhh wee!!! I'm finally home and settled down enough to think about last nights show... I've been overwhelmed with emotions for a solid 24 hours now. But enough about me.... let's talk about Stevie!!! (and me!)
I know I'm repeating some details already been mentioned but I'mma gonna tell yall again anyways...
Stevie said she had been on vocal rest and that she wasn't going to talk between songs as much as she usually does because it's not the singing that hurts her voice it's the talking and she's been doing so much press lately and having to talk. She told us that if she started talking too much to tell her to stop. She stuck out her hand when she said stop - like stop in the name of lovvvve. :)
The intro to Annabelle Lee was priceless. With her right arm stretched out around the shoulders of an imaginary Edgar. Stevie says "Hello Edger" and then leaned to pretend she was the imaginary Edgar saying "Hello Stevie." Soooo cute!!! She said he wrote it about his wife a long time ago. Then she sang it.
Soldiers Angel was probably the most well received of all the new songs. I'd probably be sticking my foot in my mouth if I said that folks over here are more patriotic than other places, cause I don't know that for sure...but the crowd liked that song.
When it came time for the Edge walk, I froze like a deer in headlights! I held my camera up and pushed record but my eyes were on Stevie the whole time. She is a beautiful woman. The reality of her age kicked in when I saw her up close. Beautiful in every way but you can just tell she's getting older too. It was just an overwhelming reality for me. I just want her to be happy and I don't want any one to every say anything about her looking older too. It just hurts my heart. I want Stevie to always know she is beautiful and to always feel beautiful and for everyone in the whole wide world to think she's as beautiful as I do. Needless to say, I was so overwhelmed and under the influence of Stevie crack a lack that I couldn't move my feet in the direction of the stage.
I was on the right side 4th row and there were several chiffonheads in the row in front of me. Are any of you ladies on here??? An old fart on my row asked one of you to sit down so his old lady could see.... and you just kind of gave him an agreeable nod like you were going to sit down but casually turned around and kept on standing/dancingish. Very classy move!
I tried not to take my camera out much, cause it was distracting to me...but I do have a few pics and videos that are uploading now.
Oooo wweee! It's way past my bedtime! will post pics tomorrow.

OMG - really?! I was trying so hard not to get totally shoved into the really tall girls in front of me with top hats that it's all I focused on. I am so short, I was afraid I would not get close enough to shake her hand. Maybe we can meet at the LB show...

You haven't looked at the seating chart? Girl you are better than I am. I've never been either but its right smack dab in the middle of downtown or midtown, whichever, on Peachtree St. So if we wanted to hang somewhere before the show there should be a lot of choices in walking distance.
