How Flippin' awesome!! I think so far this is the ultimate, spectacular performance of "Soldiers Angel". Mother nature or Rhiannon ;) brought up the wind and it rises around Stevie in pillars of color. This crazy wind is too perfect for this intense anthem. I can't get enough of this video. I've watched it almost 5x in a row.

What an incredible video!!! Yay, thanks for finding this gem. I LOVED when her mic stand fell and the look on Lori's face, Carlos picking it up and the Asian guy settling it into place and the star of the show besides Stevie was the WIND.

I had posted this in the other Sturgis thread but this blew me away! No pun. But I was nervous just watching this! But I love how she did not miss a beat and how she held her hand up for "four years later" but it was like she was holding it up against the wind and for about what is wrong and for what is righteous! It was kind of scary but it couldn't have been more perfect! She looked like she did 30 years ago, young and fearless!!

I just feel so proud right now to be a humble fan, she is on fire. I really hope she gets a Grammy for this record. She is so inspired right now. Best she has performed in years. She was so into the wind, wasn't she. I'm sure she was like spirtually, into it. WOW..... Everybody Sharon, Lori, Karen, her security guy Marty(I Think) was watching those lights above her head, worried to death. But Stevie was in another world....Nothing existed except the song and the message she was trying to get across, I wish we could have seen the crowd reaction. I'm sure it was even more powerful than it was on the video.....Rock On Gold Dust Women.. I can't wait for Sept. 3rd, when I get to witness her in action, again.....

Wonderful performance of Soldier's Angel I pray she reconsiders about the west coast dates.

Holy wow .very powerful. The song.the message.and the wind. She look awesome with wind blown hair.Yes that was Marty running after the mike.did saw Lori's face when it crashed almost into Stevie's leg.Stevie of course did not lose her thoughts as she sings a serious song.Very professional.Again I'm proud of her.
I hope more vids show up.

Stevie didn't even blink when that mic stand fell, it was so funny. She just stood there solid as a rock and then after Marty came to pick it up she kind of smiled.

That was so moving! This is definitely the best live performance I have seen of this song so far! I have to admit I was a little nervous about how she would act when the mic stand fell down:shocked:. But she totally handled it like a true professional and gave a great performance ! So proud of her right now:angel:

I am from Sturgis South Dakota. I am very proud that Stevie can handle some of the weather that South Dakota can dish out. That was a good 50 mph wind.

This was not just a performance...this was an experience!! Watching this, I felt as if history was being made.....that may sound strange, but, it's what I felt.
The lyrics...the emotion...the wind.....this moment was truly special, and as much as I think the term is overused, and cheapened by slang....this moment was truly epic!

This reminded me of of the Stevie Nicks Fajita Roundup. Soon as she starts singing the wind kicks in and blows her hair.

totally hilarious! She was already in "the zone" and that was that. Someone will come and pick this up for me...!
As far as that performance goes, it was beyond amazing! The storm only intensified the whole thing but I was watching it feeling very worried for Stevie. Glad she and the band made it through the song. I don't think the storm threw her off one single bit...though I'm sure she noticed (lol), she seemed completely dedicated to the song. Loved it!

Wow, that was a fantastic performance. I loved it, the wind added a dramatic aesthetic and feel to the whole affair.

I while back there was a pic from this show where Stevie's hair is blowing in her face. This was a more frontal pic and her hair was almost covering her face. Does anyone know where I can find it? I forgot to save it. Thanks! :)

Well, she has had a lot of training experience with wind machines, hasn't she? This just proves she can handle mother nature too! This was absolutely, as some have already said, an epic moment of great preportions. I'm grateful it was captured on film.
The intensity of wind came together to match the intensity of her performance, and the intensity of the song. The circumstances are nearly unbeliveable!
A lot of people were highly critical of the song when we first heard it. On my first listen, I felt the same. Yet, upon further listenings it really grew on me. Stevie, herself, predicted it would have an impact, and sure enough, she was right. With a particular perspective, it's the stand-out of the album.
How the hell did they get through and entire show with those constent wind gusts?

Let the record show that I have LOVED Soldiers Angel from the first tim I heard the small 30 secoond preview in late April. It was pretty much instantly my favorite song on the album. 80 percent of people here have listed Soldiers Angel in their bottom 3 of the album.
One windstorm and there is suddenly newfound love for Soldiers Angel

You just know Stevie was LOVING the wind kicking up like that. I think we all know her good enough to know EXACTLY what was going through her head at that moment. "Wow the spirit of Rhiannon and all those soldiers we've lost are here right now, and they kicked up the wind. You can just see it in her eyes. She was have a Stevie Nicks spiritual moment. And she will retell a variation of what I quoted in future radio interviews. She's been known to build things up in her head when there's no reason to build them up, so here when it's clearly a special moment she's going to build it up.
And they know have the first minute and a half of Rhiannon starting with the opening guitar riff. I got to say it really conjurs up Rosebub. With the outdors, the wind, the whole look.

Plus, she referenced the youtube video the next night in Grand Prairie... So she knows exactly what it looked like and she's no doubt seen all the really kind comments too.

Wow......the wind kicked up the very moment she began to sing! It's epic and it sure seems to be that there is something very spiritual to this all, like divine intervention! What a moving tribute to our veterans and troops!

That was the best concert footage. She looks like some fairy, warrior, queen standing in the adversity. It's haunting and just beautiful.

Hi everyone. I'm new to the board. Been a "lurker" forever. Did anybody notice that around 2:30 in the YouTube video the filmer got a shot of the lighting rig above her. The security guy standing on the side of the stage kept looking up at it swinging back and forth and you know what he was thinking. Could it come down. My first thought after seeing the nightmare in Indiana with the stage collapsing was that the same thing could have happened in Sturgis judging from the wind on that video. Stevie just hung in there and it just seemed the sound of the wind and the drama of it all made that song even more haunting than it already is. Yeah, she definitely seemed like some beautiful ancient warrior princess especially with her hair and outfit flying in the wind. I love the song!!!!

Yeah right before that Karen sort of hurriedly went over to Marty and it looked like they were watching the lights because just before that the backdrop blew over and several people standing behind or near scurried off - except for some guy who must have grabbed a camera and began frantically video taping Stevie as she sang...boy I'd love to see the footage he got!

She mentioned the youtube video?
She most certainly did. It's in the recorded concert from Grand Prairie, Texas. The only bummer though is that for the one youtube clip she ever mentioned viewing, it had to be one where the sound doesn't match up to the picture. Now she's gonna think all of youtube is the devil.
