Meeting Stevie really isn't a simple thing. Anyone who's met her has great connections, attended a meet-and-greet event or got really lucky by running into her another way. Sorry, not a whole lot you can do to arrange this for yourself unless she does a signing near you.

It's all about being in the right place at the right time. I don't think you can "plan it" to be honest. At least that's how it was when I met Lindsey and John.

... there's a reason she does these things here.

And the reason is? She did a signing for Soundstage at Barnes and Nobles in Manhattan and a day or two later she did the Lifebeat shindig also in NY. I was at both.

Yeah, I've briefly met most the members of her band.

Again, New York is densely populated. She does signings in the places where the most people will show up. LA and New York are the two biggest cities in the US...

You're not getting the answer you want to hear, but it's entirely true -- it's about luck 95% of the time. You really can't plan it.

Dude, chill out. We gave you the answer and you don't like it, but that's not our fault. Also, you keep complaining about how Stevie doesn't do signings or meet-and-greets in your area... people have to drive and fly from around the world to meet her at those events. Anita drove from freaking OREGON and I drove 14 hours round trip to meet her in LA, so it's not fair for you to expect her to saunter into your home town.

Do you really think that you're the only person who's made a really good YouTube channel? There are lots of people who post great videos of Stevie and none of them have been hand-picked to meet her. I think you need to be realistic about this -- to meet Stevie, you will most likely have to travel and on top of that, you'll have to be damn lucky. That's just the way it is.

I dont think it's fair that I didn't win Powerball 2nite and my fat keyster isn't sitting on 130 million planning my Stevie tour itinerary, but such is life. But you shouldn't begrudge those who have met her. Before I met her in 1996 my one friend had already met her but I didn't harbor any ill feelings toward her. If it's in the cards it will happen. Thanks for all the clips by the way.

I have been a fan since the 1970s and have never really wanted to meet her.Stevie to me is all about mystery and to me meeting her would disspell some of that mystery.Even when I have been very close to the stage I never rushed it except once when I was in the second row at the Greek in Los Angeles in 1989 for the OSOTM tour and even then I was so close and being tall I only had to reach up and shake her hand. She looked like a zoned out zombie I knew something was wrong .In n a few years we would all find out what exactly.I still don't regret it though and for some reason that is still my favorite show.If given the chance even today I wouldn't want to meet her.I want to hold on to that mystery.

I mean writing a letter out and posting (mailing) it. That's always a sincere way to get someone's attention. I don't think you'll have much luck really... I think you'll have to go to a show/signing if you really wanna have a shot at it. She's not gonna show up on your doorstep ;)

Well, I've tried for the better part of 20 years, and Ive come really close a few times but its never come to fruition. I think the thing to understand is that unlike the other members of Fleetwood Mac, Stevie NEVER just strolls around in public when she's out on the road. It is pretty much impossible to meet her unless it's a highly structured setting such as a signing and Miss Ballbricker(aka Karen) is right by her side.

Do you really think that emailing her website with wishes to meet her is going to get you anywhere?

Yes, I can believe that you've never met Stevie. Just because you have a great youtube channel doesn't mean sh*t (and I can't believe you thought that she'd watch your channel and want to meet you because of it). Like many other people have said, very few people actually get to meet Stevie, and when it does happen, most of the time it is based on luck.

And I wouldn't suggest sending a fan letter, either. If you write anything like you've written in this thread, who knows what she'll think (if it actually even gets to her).

These points win.

I've never met Stevie and don't really want to. However, SuperFleetwoodMac, try being a Christine fan. Try knowing that your hero will NEVER do a CD signing. There is no place in the world you can fly to and be able to meet her and that She'll probably never read your fan mail. THAT is tough. So whining about Stevie is pretty pale in comparison IMO.

I met Debbie Harry briefly (which is like you meeting Stevie for me) and I had to travel to Newcastle from Manchester alone and then wait after the show for an hour in the freezing cold to score about 3 minutes conversation and her autograph. I didn't get to tell her everything I wanted to because there were other people who wanted to talk to her but I made the most of what I had. It's still the best experience of my life even though I didn't get to say what I wanted. Point is, you can't demand these things. If they happen by chance, you're damn lucky and if I'd emailed DH begging to meet her, she'd probably have laughed and said "You and everybody else". You have to go to them, they won't come to you and why should they?

I was one of the lucky to meet Stevie at her first cd/dvd signing 2 years ago in NYC at Barnes Nobles Union Square. Anyway I have tried thru the years contacting the record company,Liz Rosenberg, Her management and got no where even radio stations in the area if you listen to the radio sometimes they have contests for meet and greet and tickets that would be a possibilities or more likely if she does anymore Signings and I want to say too like everyone else she will probably do signings in the big cities like Chicago,NYC and Boston. I hope she does it these cities so other people have a chance to meet her. on this tour.

Boy, did I wake up at the wrong time, I see. There's a lot of jealousy I'm feeling from certain people and it's quite sad. Super, be happy for those who have met her and just live in hope. Not in envy. I mean, I haven't met her either. I haven't met Lindsey (my favourite, duh) either. But I'm okay about it. There's always tomorrow. And if not, I've daydreamed enough scenarios to content me. The way I've always seen it, the things we've always wanted have a tendency to happen when you stop trying/looking as hard for them. You just have to relax, live true to yourself, indulge in the opportunities that COULD lead to what you need/want, but ultimately enjoy those experiences for the experience and story alone. Not what could have been. I'm sorry if people read this the wrong way and feel as though I'm judging them for being excited about having met somebody. I'm really not. I'm happy for you all that you had that experience. But those who haven't yet, don't sweat it as much. Everything happens for a reason, and those we meet and connect with in life are the ones who are destined to have an effect on our lives, no matter how small. If we don't meet somebody, then they obviously aren't destined to make a bigger connection than what they already have.

Here's how you do it. And trust me, I have sources who have told me that this works:

Go to a Stevie concert dressed in a really crazy costume. I'm not talking dressed as Stevie, as most of those people come across looking like fools anyway.

I'm talking "Let's Make a Deal" style: clown, hot dog, box of Kleenex.

People have done this before and people from Stevie's "camp" see this and say, "Oh this person is so outgoing and crazy, we HAVE to introduce him to Stevie!" and they get approached and escorted right back stage to Stevie's dressing room.

Usually, from what my source has told me, the weirder the outfit the better.

Good luck!

Great points and advice. Well put. I also agree that most times when you meet people it's luck. Here's are the scenarios in which I've met people in Stevies camp as an example of that:

Lindsey Buckingham - ran into him during SYW tour in Vegas at MGM Grand hotel. He was staying on same floor as me and i didn't even know it until i saw him.

Sharon Celani - saw her in the MGM casino during the same tour.

Lori Nicks- met her at Sunset Sessions with Sharon again. They happened to be sitting right behind me.

Carlos Rios - met him backstage after a Stevie show while waiting to hopefully meet Stevie (which didn't happen).

Al Ortiz and Jimmy Paxson - while staying at caesars palace in vegas for a Stevie show. Ran into them in elevator and restaurant.

Stevie Nicks - at the recent CD signing in LA. This was after a long time of coming close to meeting her several times then finally realizing that if it's meant to happen it will.

So, as you can see, it is mostly luck. (At least for me)

BTW- this thread has some funny-a** posts!! !!!

Lawd have mercy! SuperFleetwood u need to calm yo butt down! Stevie Nicks is a human being just like the rest of us. The only difference is she was blessed with the ability to touch the masses. That's all! See this attitude is the reason she only comes out when it's dark, wears gloves all day and won't keep those soft waves in her hair! You're the reason y she wears CRUSHED VELVET!!!!!!!

Instead of being jealous (keep it real u know u r) of ppl that have had an opp to meet her, you should be greatful that you know/know of someone that did! Let their experience fill u with joy! Go grab a damn tambourine and rock out to the fact that yo simple ass couldn't go to the wiltern show! Blast "gypsy" and spin and kick from the stories of the cd signings!

Yes!! I have actually done this... I am still disappointed about Wiltern but it wasn't even an option so I'm more than happy with Gypsy - and since it's my favourite I like that you mentioned it specifically!

LOL! Where is that guy who was calling us creepy for wondering about Stevie's healh in May? Where is he now, lol? :p

And the one who was weirded out by Karma Contestant's mix tape...hello? Funny how they are no where to be seen when something is actually creepy, geez.

BTW, I wonder whatever happened with that mixtape and Denver rehersals....

I truly believe it's luck. If she does a signing, that makes it easy otherwise, it's luck.

The first time I met her was in 1998 & she was at a restaurant here in L.A. & I was so freaked out :) That's a story for another post :)

Again, luck meets coincidence meets right place right time :)

My 3rd time was the Amoeba singing & again...that was an opportunity I chose to grab hold of :)

It really is just nutty. I am not sure what your definition of a bad day is,but that is a lame excuse. Also,it's "irritated",not "erritated". Just sayin.

In my best SuperFleetWood voice "oh my god-a! Relax-a!"

Now go take a nap! And when u wake up, come back with happy and healthy thoughts!

*hugs*! Act right boy!

Now tell me u love me!

The best post I ever read on this site!!!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Seeing that spelling mistake occur consistently made me angrier than I've been in a while. Seriously all internet browsers come fully equipped with spell check, just saying.

I think people could accuse you of being very rude in your posts in this thread and others, regardless of whether or not you deleted them to cover your tracks afterwards. A bad day isn't an excuse. Now if you were to politely ask people to be kinder and more understanding, perhaps they'd listen. But just snapping at them to drop it is hardly going to garner a positive response.

I get you (kind of). Ever since I didn't go to LA for the signing I've been down about it...

Really, don't worry about it. It will happen one day if it's meant to.

Seriously? You're rude to people for giving you advice and answers you asked for, and then you act as though you're the victim? Really? Is that what I'm seeing here because this....Very rich.
