I always get a kick out of these because is it so obvious how much work they had to do to Christine to get her ready for The Dance filming. Look at her (lack of) hair! She was so obvously wearing a full out wig, or at least a fall/extensions, for the filming, tour and pretty much all appearances after that.

You know, I started liking Fleetwood Mac when I saw The Dance on PBS. Since then I've seen Fleetwood Mac several times, always without Christine. So I don't know what they sound like live with her!

Even in retrospect, I was a bit worried. Someone started a rumor that Christine had cancer. Seeing her hair in these clips compared to other times would make me believe that. I'm just glad she looked healthy for the actual DVD and tour and she looked especially great when In The Meantime came out later.

Just a random thought, but shouldn't this thread be in the Rumours category? That being said, I do love these videos. I always enjoy seeing the band when they're "at their most human". When they're not staging themselves, and they're comfortable enough to pick their teeth and what not. It's easier to get a glimpse of their real character.

+1, I really miss that mellifluous voice and excellent song-writing!!
Note too that she was very skinny (look at her legs in the first video, she's really thin there)
For those that haven't seen her in person, she really does add a new dimension with her singing and keyboard playing to the band. She truly is an original and always member of the Mac!!!

This thread lead me to watch these videos for the umpteenth time...
And, naturally, something I didn't notice caught my eye.
What does Lindsey whisper @ 11:45? It seems to end in 'talking' but I can't quite make out the beginning. Stevie laughs at whatever it was.
ETA: Nevermind, I think he says, "We're still not talking."

I think it's a mixture of emotions, he probably never thought he would eve rbe that close to her again. And he felt like everything was ok...they all thought that, but they all knew, or at least Stevie and Lindsey did, the excitement of being together in Fleetwood mac was exciting to them, but they knew their emotions would get the better of them again. It's so sweet, but the emotions are sooo all over the place.

Why was he kissing her head???
Well, one of the times, she's talking about how he worked his magic on her songs and how thankful she was and all that, so he kissed her head.
But the other time.... Christine was talking, Lindsey started messing with Stevie and nudging her, Mick noticed, Lindsey kissed her head, and then Stevie got all bashful. Idk. It was kind of random.
Methinks he was a little smitten with her. They band had barely been working together for three weeks at that point, so I'm sure they had just started reconnecting and all...

These videos are so awkward because she doesn't really acknowledge his constant perusal. She kind of glances at him a couple times, but she barely makes eye contact. I don't know if she's shy or nervous or leery, maybe a combination of all three.

In that one particular screen cap, John's line of vision is on the same direct level as Christine's bosom. Kind of amusing.
"John, please look at my eyes when I'm talking to you."

I think probably a combination, with a slight emphasis on shy and nervous.
The big give-away was when she blushed and looked down to her lap after Mick caught Lindsey messing with her. She looked like a little girl that was the victim of a kiss & run on the playground.

I love the look of alarm on Lindsey's face at the beginning of the first video once he's taken a gulp of his water(?). It's like "Holy hell! I just had a drink!". I get like that when I've been working too long with paints in a not very well ventilated room. Everything surprises me. After a particularly long day I spent an hour straight sitting in the middle of the floor and laughing. Not even slightly giggling, but bordering on stomach pains and hysterics. Ah. The sad life of an artist.

I haven't watched these again, but from what I remember I loved it when someone told them they should go get some props to showcase during the session and Lindsey practically ran to go get his guitar. He was like way too happy to grab that thing.

Christine was talking about the band coming in the studio to work on LB's solo thing and he nudged Stevie and kissed her head when Chris was saying "4 of the 5" members being back in working environment together. I thought it was a sweet gesture on Lindsey's part, sort of comforting in a way so she wouldn't feel left out.

I think that's just her tendency toward privacy. She does this sly closed-lip side smile alot and chuckles under her breath. She was loving it.

He was quoted as saying something like "who knows, maybe we'll get back together" in an interview and in a magazine interview when told this she was described as "she stiffened up" and said "over my dead body" and something like "he knows I don't ever want to go back to that dark place again". When *he* was told of her response in another interview, he made a comment to the effect that he had just been joking about it all.
Would Kristen have been in the picture by then I wonder?

I love that my thread brought back all this emotion.
It kills me to watch him kiss her head & then what really was happening behind the scenes with Kristen whilst he flirted with Stevie. Remember that supposedly, their break up was so bad he threw something at her? I can only imagine the shouting, screaming & tears. I think that would have superseded toying with the idea of getting back together, at least for her? HUMMM...;)

Judging by the date, Will probably had been conceived, but no one would have known about him yet.

I'm intrigued after reading this thread. I clearly remember, "The Dance" and it seems like yesterday. I have the one concert on an old VHS tape. I remember the sizzling way Stevie sang Silver Springs to Lindsey, looking at him with flashing angry eyes that reminded me of a woman scorned. The intensity of emotion that didn't seem an act, but pure raw hurt emotion.
Could someone kindly please catch me up to speed here.....when was Will born?

1998.
If you watch The Dance in it's entirety, you see professionals giving some of the most flawless performances of their career combined with their own nostalgic emotion about being back together. Remember Stevie's joyous comments at the end? "Silver Springs is a great old song!" She was thriled with the audience response to her performance of the memory of a woman scorned. But, none of the interaction indicated there was anything less than genuine love and care between all of them.

I would agree based on the way Stevie described herself as saving up the performance and deliberately not giving it her all before. It wasn't spontaneous. Of course, there was drama throughout the Dance tour and I think that some of the performances over the next 8 weeks captured it, both real and staged.

I love how Lindsey leaves the door open with the whole, I'm not expecting us to get together but you never know.... ; )
I found this part quite interesting:
Mick Fleetwood has invited Lynn, his wife of two years, to come out on the road and see a few shows - just not the early ones. "Lynn and I were talking to someone who is new to this whole thing called Fleetwood Mac," he says. "And she said, "What you've got to understand is that these people have something in between them that is extraordinarily theirs. And you will never know. It is you and them, but you have to get used to it, because when these people are together, there is an unspoken thing that absolutely exists."
Makes me wonder who was this person who was "new to this whole thing called Fleetwood Mac" and how this person had to be told to get used to the bonds between the band members that you can't ever really be a part of. .... methinks it was Kristen.....

Yeah, CAH did say that too. Of course, Lynn wouldn't have been talking to CAH, so someone else had to tell her that years earlier. I guess she figured it out herself after Christine gave her a pop quiz or background check to see if she was even fit to shack up with one of the bandmembers in the first place.

It probably was John Courage (JC),he questioned everything and everybody. He was very protective of the band. I was lucky that he liked me.
