Interestingly, the interviewer asks Stevie about Rumours being re-released this Autumn and she confirms it.

Thanks for posting! I'd seen it before, but reading through again... I noticed she mentioned Amy Winehouse. Kind of struck me, due the recent turn of event involving her :(

I think it's interesting how she refers to Lindsey as "the crusty gnome" and herself as "the miserable fairy"

Not to ask a completely redundant question, but don't we already have a Rumours Re-Release, including Demo's and Out-takes? Why do we need yet another? Surely it's time to maybe get around to re-releasing Mirage, Say You Will and Tango In The Night? I know all of them aren't short of Out-takes and Demo's, and it's only fair to give them a chance too. I know it's miserly, and I do love the album, but I'm just sick of hearing about Rumours. As though it's the only thing they've ever done.

In another interview, she said,

"Christine the pop star, Lindsey the gnarly gnome, and Stevie the miserable, philosophical fairy."

They're re-releasing Rumours, again?

I got a novel idea, how about re-releasing The Dance, but with some of the other footage from the other 2 nights they filmed!

Rumours is so played out. The only way I would buy a re-release is if they added the DVD that was initially supposed to be included in the other re-release. Even then...meh...

When will it ever end?! We have:

1) Rumours cd
2) Remastered Rumours 2 CD set
3) Rumours DVD Audio
4) Making Of Rumours DVD
5) multiple live albums/dvds mainly focused on Rumours (Live '80, The Dance, Live In Boston, etc)

And now ANOTHER re-release of Rumours?!

Wasn't this supposed to be the one that Stevie produced with other artists redoing the songs?

Don't forget the cassette version too, I have that one somewhere it seems. And we know there was an 8 track version as well.

This SUCKS!! They surely can't expect fans to shell out cash for it again?

If this is the long delayed re-release that was promised around the time of Unleashed then they're probably doing it now to cash in on Glee. What they forget however is that anyone who would have bought the album because of that will nowhave already downloaded all the songs from itunes or bought one of the several versions already released.

I don't approve of this re-release at all but why didn't they at least have the sense to put it out during the week that the Glee episode aired? D'uh!

This has EVERYTHING to do with Glee. I think Fleetwood Mac fans are going to be surprised the next time the band tours. Younger kids are absolutely digging the Mac right now. I think the shows are going to have a much younger audience next time around. Many of my co-workers (who are parents) have said that all their kids want to go see the band live. Rumours has been in the Billboard Top 100 albums since the episode was aired. They are huge right now!

Re-releases aren't meant to cash in on existing fans, they're to attract new fans. A 16 year old kid would be more likely to buy a brand new CD of an older band rather than track down an old CD from the budget bin. I remember when the Doors movie came out and I had never really heard their music before and I got so much **** for buying the soundtrack rather than The Doors Greatest Hits but in my youth warped mind I thought the soundtrack would be better, cleaner sounding, whatever.

I would love this too...but sadly, they only shot in Fullscreen and non HD. Won't look so great for a BD release.

Just a well-mastered DVD of "The Dance" would be fine. The existing release was done very early in the DVD era and looks pretty terrible...video mastering has come a long way since 1998. As far as bonus material, were any songs performed for the taping that weren't included on the DVD? My sense was that the DVD included all the songs that were rehearsed and performed, albeit edited for the best takes and certainly a fair amount of post-production overdubbing was done.

It would be nice to get a documentary about "The Dance"; how the reunion came to be, rehearsals, success of the CD and tour, etc. with new interviews and archival footage. But I doubt any of this will come to be. The label seems more focused than ever on Rumours as the only catalog item of interest for FM.

I love the idea of a documentary about The Dance. After all, that was where my obsession began. That whole reunion and the tour that followed intrigues the hell out of me.

Very true. A nice DTS-HD Audio would be cool too. I've only seen a couple blu-ray full screen titles (Roy Orbison comes to mind).

Exactly. I'm still baffled to this day that they've not released it in 16:9. Then again they may have shot it in fullscreen, I don't know. Shame though, there was probably a lot going on in those frames that we're missing.
