IYD has re-entered the charts at #181 this week. GO STEVIE!
Now we just need to find a way to make it stay on the charts.

181? That's not good!

Does it say how many albums sold constitute a spot at 181, and how many #180 sold?

I'm just wondering if the mass purchase of 200+ copies yesterday at the Amoeba Records signing will be enough to help keep her on the charts.

Great. I think this is Stevie's first album of the Soundscan era that has actually risen since its debut week. All the others started strong, then had an inexorable decline.

It's better than not being on the chart at all, which is what was happening before.

Considering that it was off the charts completely for 2 weeks, this is not only good that it's re-entered, it's fantastic.

It's in the vacinity of 2,500 to 3,000.

Like for instance Rumours was back on the billboard 200 last week at # 162 and they sold 3,287

The tour will boost the sales - I've always wondered how/when/if CDs sold at the venues get tracked and reported to Billboard and Soundscan and whatever?

Any info yet on how For What It's Worth is doing.?If it can get on the AC charts that would help too.

I wonder what the grand total sales of the album are now? Last I heard a while ago we were looking at around 120,000?

She's just over 135k. And she sold a little over 3100 this week, up from 1900 the week before.

The more she stays out in the public eye with these media appearances and interviews, the more albums she's going to sell. Out of sight, out of mind. Her tour starting soon will help.

Also, you can "self" report sales of albums at shows to SoundScan. I say self, but it will be the Tour Merch Manager either reporting it directly to SoundScan or giving the numbers to Warner to report.

I just really really hope she and her management realize this! It seems like a no-brainer, but considering some of the missteps of the past... :distress:

It's also the only way we're going to get some west coast shows this year!

That is a respectable sales figure in this day and age.

Stevie needs to do more CD signing meet and greets.

Since everybody's obliged to buy the 'IYD' CD to have it autographed, Stevie could easily sell about a 1000 or so at each appearance she makes.

And not just limit them to NYC/LA! Throw us midwesterners a bone!

Awesome news! All the press she's been doing for the tour seems to be helping quite a bit. Keep it up, Stevie!

yes. hopefully more press. it would b great to get it back into the top 100. maybe she'll do letterman or Fallon later this month. Jimmy would b great cause he usually sings a classic song wit his musical guest and let's them do a new song alone.

This week's sales reports are finally coming in.

Mediabase's Streetpulse - a survey of 1,200 retail and web locations - sees IYD re-enter the top 50 at #37.

Sales of IYD are up 50% from the prior week.

Based on Soundscan numbers, which Billboard uses to determine sales charts, IYD has outsold the last/most recent studio album from every female musician in her peer group I checked including Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Linda Rondstat, Debbie Harry, Pat Benatar, Heart, Tori Amos (2009's Attracted to Sin, 92,000), Patti Smith, Chrissie Hynde, and even the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin who released her first album of original material in many years on the same day as IYD. Aretha flopped with a peak of #54 (to Stevie's #6) with sales of 25,00o to date. I keep repeating the statistics because it's the only way to assess if sales are good or not. Half of the artists mentioned had sales below 100,000, some barely reached 75,000 and a few were below 50,000 (Benatar & Debbie Harry).
She's right in line with her male peers such as Tom Petty but outsold Elton John's last studio album (142,000) that had Justin Timberlake in the videos.

I'm glad there is action on the charts. She got to weed through the garbage to get up to the top.I see Adele is still on the top.Besides Adele and Amy Whinehouse. The rest I never heard of or want to know who they are.

Great news ..Billboard has not been updated where she reentered last week at 181 so we'll see if this translate there as well.Hopefully FWIW will start picking up some more plays too.

How do you find Soundscan numbers? I've always wanted to look up favorite artists sales but don't know where to look.

How did Heart's "Red Velvet Car" do in terms of sales?

This is excellent news. Looks like her recent TV appearances are paying off, as well as the tour press. She deserves it! Mama has been working her A$$ off promoting this record. Thanks for all your updates GoldDustOrphan! Does anyone have a running tally of how many IYD has shifted in the US to date? Stevie's gotta be very close to 150K just in the US. I would just love her to get over the 200K threshold. That would really be something & obviously help the case for a new FM or Stevie Nicks solo record in the future :)
