I remember in an episode of the Tony Danza sitcom, "Who's the Boss", Angela came home from work and said something like

Angela: "we're thinking of putting Stevie on the cover"
Mona: "Stevie who?"
Angela: "Nicks!"

or something like that. Anyone else remember this? Can anyone name other mentions of Stevie in sitcoms/tv shows?

I know there have been a few mentions on TV shows, however I like the part in "School of Rock" where Edge of 17 is playing and being acted out by Jack Black. Just can't remember any sitcom mentions at the moment.

The first episode of Will & Grace.

Will: Did you get that black flowy thing?
Grace: No, you were right. It's too "Stevie Nicks: The Heavy Years".

There was also another episode where Will references Fleetwood Mac. I don't remember the exact quote, but Will finds out his parents are both having affairs and he says something like, "all of the sudden my parents are Fleetwood Mac!"

There's a section on Stevie's website called 'Scene & Heard' or whatever that mentions stuff like this. I can't think of anything right now but if this was a Madonna board, you could have really fun! I don't know how many TV Shows or Films that I've heard her name pop up!

On One Life To Live a few years ago a young teen playing the piano was asked by an adult if he knew who Madonna was. His answer: Yeah. You mean the old lady who kissed Britney?

Obviously, on Glee there were quite a few mentions between the episode with Landslide and the Rumours ep. But aside from that, in the first season Kurt said, "My Power Rangers got married and divorced in so many combinations, they were like Fleetwood Mac."

In the movie Sid & Nancy..
Nancy: AAGGHH! I look like f*ckin' Stevie Nicks in hippie clothes!

On How I Met Your Mother, John Lithgow (as Barney's long-lost father) is explaining his horrible regrets about life as a roadie and how the Rock lifestyle kept him from being a good dad, when Barney interrupts, "You ever bang Stevie Nicks?"

I remember watching a rerun of One Day At A Time a few years ago and Barbara (Valerie Bertinelli) was talking about getting her hair permed like Stevie Nicks "but how she used to have it, not now" I figured she must have been referring to Mirage area (gypsy/hold me videos) and not the rock a little era (i can't wait video).

I think there was a Simpsons where Homer has a To-Do list where "Sleep with Stevie Nicks" is crossed off. (Correct me if I'm mixed up on this.)

On Dharma and Greg, Dharma looks at her hippie mom's outfit & says "Thunder only happens when it's raining."

On SNL, on the night when Madonna appears in a dream sequence, Wayne & Garth list the hottest rock chicks ever to be on the show & Stevie is #3 as "the reigning gypsy queen" or something like that.

Also, on SNL was the Lucy Lawless "Fajita Round-up" sketch, which I suspect every Ledgie knows by heart.

Can't think of any others right now.

This site has all kinds of info:

http://www.basicfamouspeople.com/index.php?aid=4235

In 2001, The HBO drama series Six Feet Under had a scene in one episode where Nate Fisher purchases hydroponic raspberries that he claims were "grown by a guy named Gunter who once slept with Stevie Nicks". (In a later scene, Claire opened the fridge and asked, "Do we have any more of those Stevie Nicks raspberries?")

In the episode "Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants" of South Park a goat is mistaken for her when she and Fleetwood Mac are scheduled to perform in Afghanistan for U.S. soldiers.

In the 2003 version of the Disney film Freaky Friday, the mother character (Jamie Lee Curtis) exclaims at one point when she is wearing her daughter's (Lindsay Lohan) clothes, "I look like Stevie Nicks!" (prompting the response from her daughter, "Who's he?").

Stevie is mentioned in two different episodes of The Simpsons. The first is during a Halloween special in which Mr. Burns comments that Lisa's character possesses "more wicked witchery than Stevie Nicks." The second is when Homer is in bed one morning, and consults his to - do list; two of the four items on the list are "See Stevie Nicks naked". (Jake, I think you're right in that it was crossed off.)

I was watching an episode of the 1990's series 'Blossom' & it's the one when Blossom is in Paris and the guy she's hanging with asked her about her boyfriend and she said they were "On & Off" and the guy says "Like Fleetwood Mac"? :D

I'm not sure of exact details, but there was some other episode, too, where Schneider was dating someone, a much younger woman. She said something to Barbara (or Barbara said it to her) about wanting her hair like Stevie's haircut on the Rumours album. Then Schneider asked why she'd want to get her hair cut like a boy's. Then she had to inform him that Stevie Nicks was a girl!!

OMG, when I first saw this thread this was the first thing I thought of. And at the time I saw the movie (I was in college) I was only familiar with Stevie's solo stuff and I thought to myself, that can't be right. Was Stevie around in 1979 and why would she be wearing hippie clothes? LOL!

This might've been talked about because it originally aired in 2009, but it's new to me.

So, I'm flipping through channels and find Bette midler on Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List. Kathy is trying to persuade Bette to vote for Kathy to receive a Grammy for Best Comedy Album. Bette tells her she is not part of the academy but Bette says "How about I call Stevie Nicks?" And surer than ****, she picks up the phone and now they're talking to Stevie on speaker phone!

Stevie tells Kathy Griffin she is her fave, lol.

"She's amazing."
"That voice."
"Now you know she's a wiccan, or a witch or something."
"No she's isn't!"

"No she isn't!"

"She's in a coven."
"She is not in a coven. She is an angel."

"Hell, Stevie just spills. I mean I couldn't believe it, we're on speaker phone...."

I didn't understand Stevie's Scooby Doo comment, but apparently it's a reference to one of Kathy's stand-ups, just like, when you see/hear something you can't believe.

I'm watching Most Eligible Dallas (it's pretty bad, filler tv...not even a guilty pleasure) and someone just described one of the petite blond girls as something like this: "Doesn't she look like a young, beautiful Stevie Nicks today? The white dress, the hair..."

Tonight on AC360 Anderson mentioned Stevie on the Ridiculist.

He was making fun of Jon Huntsman trying to lob a Nirvana joke at Mitt Romney during last night's debate. It bombed. So, giving Huntsman advice, Anderson mentioned the word "landslide" and said that that wasn't a Stevie Nicks pun.

Stevie mentioned tonight on the premiere of 'Up All Night' with Christina Applegate, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph.

Maya's character (she's plays a talk show host) goes to Christina's character's house and says something like, "Stevie Nicks is having a barbeque and we're going. I think I can close her on that segment on Native American spirituality." Then when Maya is leaving she starts singing some of 'Edge of Seventeen'. Loved it!

From a review of the sitcom "Up All Night"
http://www.starpulse.com/news/Becky_Broderick/2011/09/15/up_all_night_recap_pilot

Contrasting with the Brinkleys' home life is Reagan's work life—a crazy, "30 Rock"-ish environment built around Maya Rudolph's Oprah-lite character, Ava. (While Rudolph's character was originally written as Reagan's neurotic PR exec pal, she morphed into the meatier role of Reagan's nutty talk show host boss/friend to capitalize on Rudolph's successful big-screen turn in "Bridesmaids.") This work universe also includes Ava's sidekick, Calvin (Nick Cannon - if you blinked during the pilot, you might have missed him) and her high-strung assistant, Missy (Jennifer Hall). Apparently, this world is meant to provide the show's more outrageous moments, but last night's running gag about a colon cleanse gone wrong fell terribly flat. Again, it was the more subtle humor that worked, such as Ava matter-of-factly mentioning her helicopter date or that she was attending a barbecue at Stevie Nicks' house.

That made me laugh when she began singing "white winged dove sings a song". I really liked the show and the cast are great - it's by the same writers as Parks and Recreation and that took 2 seasons to really get into its stride so I hope this show makes it that far. Support it people!!

"Up All Night" was actually pretty decent, Maya Rudolph makes the show imo. Funny thing, the TV was on in the background, while my partner & I were reading some thread about Stevie on the Ledge (imagine that:rolleyes:), and all of a sudden we hear Rudolph croak out "Just like the white winged dove sings a song sounds like she's singing...ooh baby ooh...said oooh"... instantly grabbing our attention, we looked up & watched, then looked at each other & exclaimed WTF!! then cracked up!! Needless to say we went back and looked up the show on cable's On Demand feature and watched the whole episode. I laughed out load many times! Maya Rudolph is such a stitch! She plays an Oprah-ish TV personality with tongue firmly pressed in cheek;). I was pleasantly surprised, hopefully the show will be consistently good.

Excerpt from an article about a Bleached music video. Click the link to see the video.

http://www.glidemagazine.com/articles/57625/bleached-is-thinking-of-you.html

Thankfully, Jessie and Jennifer Clavin returned to writing music together after a brief pause, but this time under the name Bleached. Fully entrenched in the SoCal scene, their music is beginning to spread around the country, thanks in part to the well-received Carter 7inch release and their wildly enjoyable and raucous live show. Look for the Clavin sisters this fall as they tour to and from the CMJ festival, but in the meantime, enjoy the interview Glide Magazine’s Peter Zimmerman held with Jessie and Jennifer. And be sure to check out the newly released music video for lead single “Think of You.” Not only is it beautifully shot and visually intoxicating, but Jessica buys a used vinyl copy of Stevie Nicks’ classic solo album Wild Heart to give to a friend. Does it get any better? Judge for yourself, but be sure to give these girls a listen, because they’re the real deal. It’s nice to have them back making music again.

On the show King of Queens there is a flashback episode where doug and carrie first meet, and at doug's apartment there is a tango in the night poster.

In two books I read this summer there were Stevie references. In "She Makes It Look Easy" there are some song quotes, one is from Gypsy. And then in the book "Maine" that came out this summer, one of the characters is named rhiannon and she makes some comment about that's what happens when 2 fleetwood mac fans marry.

Sandra Bernhard mentioned Stevie during her 'Sandrology' last night on WWHL. She was talking about potential Apprentice celebrities and she said something to effect of "And imagine walking into the cleaners and having Stevie Nicks take your dirty laundry. Who m ore appropriate to handle your scarves and wraps?". It was cute-ish.

This isn't a TV show but there's a girl on Vine who makes videos with her dog, who's named Stevie Nicks. And she tags her. So if you do a search on Vine for Stevie Nicks you'll get a bunch of videos of a dog. And it's really funny to see captions like "Stevie Nicks can't resist playing outside (http://vinebox.co/u/wy7fVGstlPX/wo7znp3TEig)" and "Stevie Nicks getting into trouble (http://vinebox.co/u/wyeIbQie5sv/wafYNEYpEwJ)."
