She was on the finale of The Voice.

Her keyboard player Ricky Peterson wrote this on Facebook:

Getting ready to go to LA to perform in "Americas Got Talent" next Wed. Night with Stevie! Then the her tour starts on August 9th!

So it looks like she will be on AGT on July 27th. There's also word that she's taking season 5 winner Michael Grimm on the road with her as her opening act.

Micheal Grimm opened for Heart a few times & Ann Wilson is on his debut album! :)

Not sure what she's going to be doing. Maybe her new single? Announcing that she's bringing Michael? I've never watched the show so I didn't realize they had established performers on there.

That's cool that he opened for Heart. I had never heard of him but looked him up on YouTube. He has a really good sound!

I can't stand this show (esp. the pompous judges & the way the camera breaks to the host's facial reactions during performances - ugh). I hope somebody will confirm Stevie's appearance in advance so I don't have to sit through this for nothing.

Yup it's a done deal. She is doing two songs. Don't know if that means one for broadcast and one maybe for web only or what. I am not familiar with the show at all. Do the guests usually do one song or two? I won't spill the beans on which songs she is doing but I am excited about going to the rehearsal and hope she runs through both of them a few times. Hopefully she rocks the curlers and Ugg boots like she did at The Voice.

I watch this show and they are vert appreciate of the celeb guests....sometimes they sing two songs..sometimes one...
Usually the hip hop artists only sing one...prob because of the ellaborate stage productions and twenty scantily clad dancers they inevitably have to bring out for one song!!!
Also...I was pleased to the hear the news about Michael Grimm and am looking forwrd to hearing him when I see her in Indy!!

Do we know what songs she is doing?

Just throwing it out there that she REALLY does NOT need to sing Landslide again. Generally I don't mind her doing it for big stuff, because I realize it's arguably her most popular song and what a lot of people want to hear... but she's done it for several big television spots recently.. to the point that I'm afraid the general public beyond the hardcore fanbase is gonna start getting sick of it too, haha.

I realize Landslide is her most famous song, but I really hope she does something other than it or Stand Back...at this point even "Rhiannon" would be a welcome change:cool:
And please please...NO Secret Love either :distress: As much as I'd love her to do a new song to promote her new release and FWIW or In Your Dreams seem like songs she'd be able to pull off successfully, I've become seriously cynical about her recent rash of TV performances. She'd more likely to do something from IYD on Leno than the gawd awful "America's Got Talent".

It's probably futile, but I'm hoping she'll do one song from Bella Donna considering today is the 30th anniversary. And then one song from IYD. I know it probably won't happen, but, I can dream.

But if we're going with the standards... I vote for the not-quite-so-overperformed Gold Dust Woman.

She looked & sounded great. Voice was better live than on the album when it comes to the chorus, IMO. I still don't think FWIW is a show-stopper, but she did about as much with it as she possibly could on a stage. (For once even the gestures didn't bother me.)
Please let the next song tonight be a rocker. Be smart: show your versatility, Stevie.

HOLY ****!!! I never thought shed do EO17 on TV. And to my knowledge that was the first time. And she kicked its ass. Best TV performance since Fall From Grace Blockbuster Awards.

At first I was dissapointed she cut the verse with the wail but She made up for it by including the "I Know What It Sounds Like" It makes sense why this can rarely be performed on TV, but I fell she kept the very best parts of the song. Those last two verses are definitly the most intense. And Holy Sh*T Sharon finnally got her National TV moment in the sun

The more I think about it, the more I realize the wail had to be cut since the verse leading up to it is the only dragging part of the song so with precisious time it had to be a cut verse. ANd then she pretty much added the wail back at the end.

What a more-than-pleasant surprise. Not only did Stevie look great & perform well, but she chose songs that made sense. When was the last time the stars aligned that well?!
Tonight really put a smile on my face, & I hope word of mouth gets all the vacationers to seek the performances out on Youtube once they're up.
For the record, I'm still going to hell, because I just told drummerdeanna, who missed the show, that Stevie took a chance & performed "When I See You Again" and "Sometimes It's a Bitch".

She did, with a few nice close-ups, too :-) They had to cut it a little short though, so no "well I'm a few years older than you"

Good for you, Stevie....that was your "tina turner moment on the grammys" she came out and did what she had to do and did it well...EO17 isn't even one of my favorites but how great was it not to hear StandBack or Landslide.....great job, Ms Nicks
If she could continue to pull off that kind of performance in a various forums...award shows, late night shows...she'll get Bella Donna back on the charts and IYD to sell 1million copies

Didn't want to let the cat out of the bag on that 2nd song LOL.

Rehearsal was fantastic. She ran through FWIW 6 or 7 times, once almost all acapella.
Did Edge 4 or 5 times and man was it loud. No half assed rehearsal either. She kicked butt and was in full costume and hair. Haven't seen the broadcast yet, but will try to watch later.

As usual she was adorable between takes. So funny. I guess the smoke at the HB show was a problem for her but the voice sounded great. Well done.

Wow...just wow. I may be up for a while now! That was probably the best TV appearance of Stevie's in quite some time, although I think she's given some fine performances on TV of late but this one really raised the bar. I feel like we finally got some bang for our buck rather than the usual hurried 2.5 minute song then off to commercial. I still can't believe she did Edge...and that energy! and that kick!!! She seemed totally at ease and in her element, which sometimes doesn't come through during TV appearances. Stevie....ya still got it, girl!

That reminds me. I was so sure that they were going to cut off the last part of the performance & head to commercial while she was singing EO17, especially when the camera suddenly panned out. I hate it when shows have done that in the past (usually talk shows). Thank you, NBC/AGT, for letting her finish the song.

Stevie is really getting this live TV thing down pat. I think this is not going hurt her getting future offers on TV be it her solo or Fleetwood Mac. Stevie's performance was about as good as I have ever seen her. It is almost like she studied the HBO Edge of Seventeen performance and dared to be that good and she was that good. Stevie is doing her best to pull people like me that are on the fence weather to go see her on this tour. LauraTN ( my wife) still has to change her work schedule for us to go to the Atlanta show. I want to go really bad.

She said some really great things about how good of a secret keeper he is... Sending her all these tracks oer the years and trusting her with them. And that he is such a private person and great friend that she tells him her secrets about what the songs are really about...

Fantastic performances tonight. I'm guessing she'll get one song on Leno. I think she'll do For What It's Worth, probably with Mike again. Perform Moonlight or In Your Dreams on Leno!!!

I wonder what made her choose edge. i guess she wanted to try something different. I hope she does more TV appearances this year. Next month when she's in NY she can do it all. Today, GMA, Regis, the View, Letterman, Fallon, etc. I can only hope. She believes in this record.

'America's Got Talent' results: Smurfs, Stevie Nicks, but no real shockers
July 27, 2011 | 8:51 pm

Smurfs! Stevie Nicks! Strangely timed eliminations! What a weird "America's Got Talent" results show.

There was nothing terribly surprising about the four acts that made it through to the "AGT" semifinals Wednesday night: Sinatra singer Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., the band of youngsters called Poplyfe and operatic beauty Lys Agnes, along with death-defying belly-flopper Professor Splash. And maybe that's why the producers seemed to feel they had to work extra hard to generate suspense.

First they faked us out, lining up cheesy cheerleaders Purrfect Angelz, stellar yo-yoer Ian Johnson and acrobatic rope-jumpers Summerwind Skippers only to announce -- after a long pause, of course -- that none of them had made it through.

OK, that was a little surprising. But then they tried to fake us out again, calling Murphy and Poplyfe to the stage, presumably so that one of them could be eliminated. But was anyone shocked to learn that both of those acts would be going through? Or to learn that, out of a group that included novelty act Mauricio Herrera, creepy sideshow couple Captain & Maybelle, note-missing 12-year-old singer Monet and the gorgeous Agnes, who did not miss a vocal or stylistic note on Tuesday night, it was Agnes who would be moving on to the semifinals?

And surely, once we had to endure the discomfort of watching the three adorable tykes (ages 5, 6 and 7) known as the SH'Boss Boys deprived of their dreams (Where were their mommies? And how sad was it to watch that one little boy jump up and down, thinking that the group had won, as one of his groupmates hollered "No!"?), did anyone really think the judges would put through disappointing illusionist (disillusionist?) Seth Grabel instead of rewarding the unusual Professor Splash for setting a world record live on their show?

On Tuesday night, Grabel had promised boiling tar and had delivered fluff. The Splashman had jumped from three stories into a foot of water; he had the bruises to prove it. The judges dutifully followed their split-decision script (as they had the script for the Smurf plug that kicked off the show), but really, it was no contest.

At the end of the day, the only real shocker Wednesday night (aside from how great Stevie Nicks, for whom "America's Got Talent" Season 5 winner Michael Grimm will open on her tour this summer, looks and sounds at age 63) is just how canned this "surprising" results show came off.

I loved...

1. the choice of songs. One new one and then one that everybody knows and can get into. I think that FWIW is one of the best songs on the new CD, but I also think that In Your Dreams would be a great great single. It's up tempo and very catchy. Anyone think that she might do that one on Leno tomorrow?

2. the end of Eo17 when she shook her head. She looked just like in the Rumours/Tusk days. This huge wave of nostalgia hit me just from those few seconds. :)

I hate...

1. that she had to cut the songs short. I know why, but I just hate that we as a culture have come to the point where people can't listen to a 4 minute song (FWIW) or get into a full on rendition of a song that everyone knows.

2. all the shows that she's going on. Sorry all you youngin's but I"m feeling super nostalgic after that. I miss Don Krishner's Rock Concert. I hate seeing TV stars dancing or high school kids balancing things or whatever :) It's just me, I know. Anyway, if going on these shows means she can stay in the business longer and hopefully make more music, then so be it. Good move on her management's part. I just hate that she has to do it.

Anyway, both performances were awesome. I hope that she has a lot of success with this little tour and maybe ads some Northern California dates at some point. Yaaay Stevie. :)

Stevie Nicks took time away from the heartache on Wednesday during America’s Got Talent. The legendary performer took the stage on the results show to share her musical talent for everyone who was watching the results of the third week of the quarterfinals. Nicks performed on AGT, but the talented entertainer is taking one of the America’s Got Talent acts on Stage too. The entertainer will be touring with Michael Grimm when she hits the road August 9.

While the 12 acts were learning their fate, the AGT audience got the chance to really see how hard work and incredible talent could achieve absolute success watching this superstar. Stevie Nicks, who has been on the music scene for decades, is one of the most inspiring entertainers in the business. Nicks’ solo career, along with her work with Fleetwood Mac have sold over 140 million albums to date. Known around the world, the award winning artist has a voice that is extraordinarily distinctive.

While Stevie was on stage, she wasn’t the only performer who raised the roof. Fighting Gravity, a fan favorite of last year also gave a rousing performance for the audience. Reminding us all why we fell in love with the college performers, there wasn’t any doubt it was a welcomed sights.

The first three acts were Summerwind Skippers, Purrfect Angelz and Ian Johnson. When Cannon announced that none of them progressed forward, Morgan admitted he was surprised by the failure of the Skippers to draw votes. Nevertheless, frowns turned upside down pretty quickly as Cannon introduced Stevie Nicks, who performed a song from her new album “In Your Dreams.” Truth be told, she could probably teach the singing acts a thing or two about stage presence and live performance, but it really just seemed as if she appeared in order to expand the show’s running time to an hour.

With three of four spots announced, Cannon introduced Fighting Gravity, a finalist from last season. After they performed, Stevie Nicks came out for a second number, this time a rendition of her classic hit “Edge of Seventeen.” Both interludes offered a welcome distraction from the suspense of who would be the last finalist to be announced.

The full article and a cute pic are at the link - I just pasted the Stevie parts. Guess the writer wasn't paying attention when she was asked about the upcoming tour and Michael Grimm - she was not only on the show to expand the running time...

Stevie Nicks rasps through 'Edge of Seventeen' on 'America's Got Talent': Watch it here
by Jeff Labrecque
Categories: Divas!, Rock, Stevie Nicks, Television, Things That Bum Us Out

Stevie Nicks is having a pretty big week.

That episode of South Park that sets its closing montage to Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” was on again last night, and she hit the stage with the men of Maroon 5 for a run through of “Leather and Lace” on Monday. Then she made another live appearance on Wednesday, strolling out onto the America’s Got Talent set and plowing through her undisputed classic “Edge of Seventeen.”

Since America’s Got Talent has been doing crazy ratings numbers, you probably went ahead and watched this live. But just in case you didn’t, feast your eyes on Stevie and her witchcraft after the jump:

Nicks starts out pretty strong, and the crowd certainly seems into it (mostly because “Edge of Seventeen” is a fantastically intense song with a killer hook), but there are an awful lot of missed notes in there. Though she looks great and performs with confidence, she’s pretty much blown off the stage by her back-up singers.

While a little bit of rasp is usually good for a song as cutting as “Edge of Seventeen,” Nicks sounds like she’s been smoking two packs of Camels simultaneously through the exhaust pipe of a Lincoln Continental. And let’s face it, that’s too much rasp.

But what do you think? Should we cut Stevie some slack because she’s a bona fide legend, or should she stick to making cameos in videos starring Beyoncé? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

That review is mindless. Stevie didn't miss notes... like Dreams and Rhiannon and all the other songs she no longer has the range for, she sings it differently on purpose. Not to mention, that she's never sung it note-for-note like the album version, even back in 1981.

Anyone with any sort of musical ear can hear when someone is singing a lower part that is in harmony/fits with the song, rather than missing notes and singing out of tune. This guy clearly can't hear the difference, so why is he critiquing a musical performance.

I think if they did not waste air time with the Smufs promos. She could of sing the complete versions.

Ok.again most reviewers or critics dont do their research on the artists they are reviewing. They are just giving their opinion on the artist. And he's probably not a fan either. She did awesome.

My thoughts (rambling today):

FWIW
-So unbelievably happy she did this instead of SL! It's only natural being that it's the next single and Secret Love was getting so tired honey! Now, on that note, I thought I liked this song more after seeing it performed at The Wiltern but quite frankly I'm back to not liking it. I just don't think it's that great of a song and please don't slam me. I guess it comes down to the fact that it's just too country for my taste. I would think that people who had never heard this song and were hearing it for the first time last night would not give the song itself a thumbs up. Her performance, yes, but the song, no. Just my opinion.
-The girls' voices were drowning her out a bit and I didn't like it.
-I'm convinced now she's wearing the glove thingies to hide her aging hands, especially on national T.V.
-My God, she looked and sounded fabulous! Mama's still got it!
-I turned the T.V. on the second this song came on but the entire performance my phone was ringing with people calling to tell me Stevie was on the tube so it kind of ruined it for me. Gosh people, don't you think I KNOW!!
-I'm digging the fewer hand gestures and loved the ones she did.
-I kept thinking she was going to say, "packed up my ass" instead of stuff.

EDGE
-Holy mama drama, you killed it girl!! No way possible it was better than The Wiltern (nothing could top that) but definitely one of her best T.V. performances as of late and the fact that she even did Edge is a monumental moment in and of itself.
-I know some of you love the fact that Sharon got her moment in the spotlight and I suppose she deserves it but it's not a duet and was totally over-powering Stevie at some points. Not cool.
- There were several close-ups of Stevie's face where I swear it was the exact same look and expression she had for the 1981 HBO show. Same face, OMG.
- I was screaming in my apt. when I heard the opening riff.
- At one point they showed Stevie's butt and it kinda looked big but I think that was just the long shirt in back.
- She could have done a tiny edge walk and shook each of the judge's hands.
- It didn't bother me so much that it was dramatically shortened. That's par for the course on a T.V. show and to be expected.

This. She was totally on key for the entire thing. She may not sound exactly like the album version. But that was 30 years ago!! I personally think this may have been one of my favorite performances of this song yet. This reviewer does not know what he is talking about .

These two performances will go down in Stevie History as some of her finest TV appearances ever. She nailed FWIW, especially by editing it to a point where it almost seems too short. The album version is too long to work as a single so Reprise were wise to edit it for the single release but last night's version truly blew me away. So great that the girls added harmonies during the first chorus already instead of the second like on the album!

I did notice that the backup vocals were just as loud if not louder that the main vocal. I suppose that was a sound/mixing decision. Part of it depends on what the performing artists wants and what the intention is..

I do sound at my church so I now a little about sound mixing, etc.

It's so true about her expression. I notice that sometimes even now, at 63, at certain moments, she has the exact same expression and seemingly same face as she did many years ago. It happened on Ellen, when she was speaking and then kinda cracked up and look down...was exactly the same mannerism as she had in several old interviews from the WH era. Stevie is truly timeless and at times, ageless.

I loved her performances but I unfortunately feel FWIW was not the best choice for the second single. Annabel Lee or Moonlight would have been much more solid. I do however think Secret Love was a very smart first single. She needs Ghosts Are Gone as a single to give her the excuse to perform it live and you know mama would knock that out of Simon Cowell's park

I agree, FWIW sounds like a song you'd hear on a old country radio station format. There's no way top 40 (AC) will play this song! It's to bad but true. Moonlight needs to be a single FO SURE!

That's one of the reasons I'm glad it was chosen as a single. I'd rather court country than AC. Country sells more. Michele

Like I said before, this review is completely mindless, so I try not to dwell on it.

Anyone with any sort of musical ear can hear that Stevie is not 'missing notes' as he puts it - she's singing a lower harmony part that is perfectly intune with the song and very intentionally done. Like Dreams and Rhiannon and all the others she doesn't have the range for anymore, instead of changing the key, she just sings it differently from the album version. Which, by the way, she never really sung it like anyway, not even in 1981.

The fact that he can't hear the difference only highlights how ill-fit he is to be reviewing a musical act in the first place.

I got satellite radio specifically to hear Howard's show when he made the switch. It became my addiction for four years. Then I moved, things changed, and I never re-subscribed. I recently discovered that a lot his shows are on YouTube and I realized how much I missed the show for the last five years.

My apologies for going a bit off topic. I hope we see a lot more of Stevie on the show, and that she's more telegenic and displays more of her quirky and funny alpha Stevie personality.

I'm not much into Howard but he has some good interviews. When XM Radio Casey Kasems classic American Top 40's I was going to get the service but after listening to the trial online .They hack up the segments of the show and I forget it.

Maybe Stevie will reappear on the show when FM goes to Australia. Maybe FM with her would be great.
