Did I miss something 'cos I didn't realise that Cheaper than free was also to be released on Daves album? Perhaps this will be a joint single for them using their recording footage?:-

Weapons of Mass Entertainment/Surfdog Records/Razor and Tie will release THE BLACKBIRD DIARIES, the new solo album by multi-hyphenate EURYTHMICS co-founder DAVE STEWART on June 28, 2011. The new record features duets with STEVIE NICKS, COLBIE CAILLAT, and MARTINA McBRIDE, along with one-track co-written by BOB DYLAN.

. So Long Ago
2. Beast Called Fame
3. Magic In The Blues
4. All Messed Up (featuring Martina McBride)
5. Stevie Baby
6. Cheaper Than Free (featuring Stevie Nicks)
7. The Gypsy Girl and Me
8. One Way Ticket To The Moon (featuring The Secret Sisters)
9. Bulletproof Vest (featuring Colbie Caillat)
10. Worth The Waiting For
11. The Well
12. Country Wine (featuring The Secret Sisters)
13. Can't Get You Out Of My Head

"This was my favorite time ever in the studio. I wrote most of the songs on the spot and recorded all of them in one incredible session lasting 5 days and nights!" Dave remarks. "I made an unusual film of the process that not only features all the musicians and performers but also gives away some of my writing secrets which involves both a well known fortune teller and hypnotist who allowed themselves to be filmed in session with me."

This has been known for over a year. We've even heard Dave's version of Cheaper Than Free, and it's a bit "twangier" (ie: more old school country sounding). Many of us wish Dave had just kept the song on his album vs it going on Stevie's too.

Stevie didn't agree with you.

She wrote the lyrics.

There are plenty of songs Stevie wrote which didn't end up making the final cut on several of her albums. Some of these songs were grandiose masterpieces like Silver Springs which simply didn't fit the theme of a particular album; some were saved for usage in Fleetwood Mac like Thrown Down; some were put aside for other artists to record such as Sheryl Crow with You're Not The One & Louise Goffin with If You Ever Did Believe; and some songs were decided by herself or her producers to not be of high enough quality, such as Julia.

I like Stevie's vocals on Cheaper Than Free, but the lyrics are pretty abysmal IMO. Stevie & you guys obviously feel that the song had a place on In Your Dreams, and that's great. I personally think it's a bit silly the song is on 2 albums both released the same year. Beside that, I feel the song fits best amongst Dave's country tinged concept album, Blackbird Diaries. But just because Stevie wrote it and decided to put it on her album does not automatically make me love or respect the song and it's inclusion on In Your Dreams. And that's fine too. :)

Or insecurity... which I guess is a root cause of narcissism anyway.
