Whole Lotta Trouble & Juliet. The rest of the songs are pretty good... I don't think I could vote off any additional ones.

Ooh My Love and Juliet. I'm not too fond of Alice either, but the rest of the songs are pretty damned good. Apart from a few icky lines in Ghosts. (She depends on her music like a husband. No. Stevie. No.)

Doing The Best That I Can is an ok song I suppose, it's just so depressing. Who would want to listen to it intentionally unless they were setting the soundtrack for a suicide note?
Alternatively, Juliet, Alice and Ooh My Love are at least upbeat sounding - even bordering on happy in some verses, and good at faking it during the not-so-happy portions of the lyrics.
Don't get me wrong, I love a good mood-ruiner as much at the next guy, but Doing The Best That I Can would never pass muster on a Stevie album today and I'm glad she left additional wrist-slashing snoozers like this off the three albums she's released since TOSOTM.

I love the wrist-slitters and slow weepy numbers the best, always.

Ghosts & Doing the Best. DTBTIC is a pretty good song; Ghosts is by far the weakest of what's left.
Juliet is probably my favorite song on this album.

Interesting how things sound different to various listeners. I agree about "Juliet", but not the other two. "Alice" is a dreary mess to my ears. :sorry:
This round I vote for "Alice" & "Whole Lotta Trouble". Along with everything else. That they carry.

the lyric "to fill the empty spaces she's feeling, she depends on her music like a husband, and she knows it's no good to fall in love again...."
encapsulates Stevie's life!!! please don't vote it off!

I like that stanza, just not the rest of the song.
I voted for 'Whole Lotta Trouble' and 'Ghosts'.

I love sad songs and slow songs. The broken-hearted songs - the I miss you songs - the I messed up and I'm gonna do what it takes to get you back songs.
I just don't care for the 'poor me' songs..

Long Way To Go and Whole Lotta Trouble. This album is all about moody mystical pieces.
