She hasn't been this thin since after The Dance while on the Atkins diet up until the Enchanted era (1997-1998). Good for her, she looks happy and her outlook on her life and in general seems very positive from all recent interviews.:) And the glasses and garb & gloves remind me of Micheal Jackson meets Elvis meets Stevie Nicks!

Agreed... I actually like these gloves because of the chain metal. And the chain metal & aviators totally go together. The entirety of Stevie in these pics is the best I've seen her put together since the early '80s. I often like the gloves, but black leather just looks uncomfortable to me in June (my reaction was probably exacerbated by the fact that it was 97 degrees here today). I'm pained by the sight of LA starlets in transparent white mini-dresses in December for the same reason:shrug:

Stevie showed up looking like Stevie Nicks, rock star extraordinaire. She rocked the shades because she's a rock star. She wore rouched velvet pants because she's a rock star. I think it takes guts to attend such a public, highly publicized event like that.

No....she doesn't mentioned anywhere in the video, or for any interview I remember, saying she doesn't like her hands. My humble thoughts on her wearing gloves is because she likes them, back in the 80's they were the, "thing."

For someone who used to thrive on a varied wardrobe, Stevie has become an increasingly and depressingly boring dresser. Her music in 2011 certaintly lives up to her legacy but her wardrobe sadly does not.

Yes and it's irritating to some fans because she was such an iconic dresser with her outfits and part of what she was known for. Knowing how much women love to dress up, for the life of us we can't understand why she remains so uniform and simplified in her choice of outfits in her later years. She has so many other colorful pretty things. I thought she looked good and liked her outfit and boots on DWTS recently but thought she'd have looked even better if she had worn one of her (Today Show) cream handkerchief skirts for a change with some boots and a shawl or one of her longer jackets. Just for a change in her public image with people. But I was ok with what she wore on such a big show. At least she looked "Stevie".

I guess I am too cuz I'm wearing black again today. I'm sure people think so. It couldn't possibly be cuz I'm bloated as all hell!!!!! Nope that aint it! I'm a witch!!!!!

True, but I don't think it's that. I think she's become simplified in her dress as she ages. She needs that spark back to dig into her wardrobe closets of fab finery again instead of wearing basically one black outfit on and off stage. But we love her anyway always.

U have a point there. That's y in her secret love video she only wore black. Didn't she wear all black on ellen too? Someone told me that when she went to her doctor a few weeks ago she wore all black too!!!!! It's so eff'n weird. Ionno bout this woman sometimes.

Secret Love video is a beautifully shot video and she did wear different outfits in it, but I am not a fan of that shapeless (typically designed) black Halloween dress. She owns so much better ensembles. Couture looking stuff. My point is Stevie wears such custom clothes most of us could never find or touch always, so why wear a dress we could find anywhere? It was so not like her. I do love her all black outfits on RAL cover and how she looked in the Soundstage lithograph in the top hat. Just not this recent IYD cover dress.

was it after her issue of trying to claim her wardrobe on her taxes that she started cutting back and wearing "repeats" so often? i'm sure money isn't an issue, but maybe it pissed her off? :s

i wonder about what she wears at home or on vacation? does she only have a few outfits she washes all the time or a closet full of stuff she wears? i wonder how many outfits will be in the documenrary part of the iyd dvd? it is odd, isn't it?a rich and famous super star wearing the same stuff over and over. whereas i read once madonna never wore anything more than once, and immediately after she wore it she gave it to her maid, lol.

Ugh, a close up of those gloves in detail.... I don't get her sense of style later this decade mixing such soft delicate clothing (chiffon) she's known for with such awful leather gloves and leather leggings sometimes. She looks half dominatrix or like she's about to jump on a Harley.

By contrast, wouldn't it have been rather disappointing if she showed up to this event wearing some kind of long sparkly gown? Yes, she would have looked stunning. But yawn. Everyone else did that. Stevie showed up looking like Stevie Nicks, rock star extraordinaire. She rocked the shades because she's a rock star. She wore rouched velvet pants because she's a rock star. I think it takes guts to attend such a public, highly publicized event like that.

Oh most definitely. At first the shades jumped out at me as out of place but they're really not. And aviators are back, though I haven't really seen much of the amber lenses. Personally I like that, who wants to wear what everyone else is wearing? I think Stevie was well aware her look was rockin' and she sassed it up. She looks amazing. She said she lost 12 lbs working out to 3 of her songs over and over on the treadmill. I can't remember which ones, Moonlight was included. Anyone else remember? Maybe it will work for me! ;)

Yes and it's irritating to some fans because she was such an iconic dresser with her outfits and part of what she was known for. Knowing how much women love to dress up, for the life of us we can't understand why she remains so uniform and simplified in her choice of outfits in her later years. She has so many other colorful pretty things. I thought she looked good and liked her outfit and boots on DWTS recently but thought she'd have looked even better if she had worn one of her (Today Show) cream handkerchief skirts for a change with some boots and a shawl or one of her longer jackets. Just for a change in her public image with people. But I was ok with what she wore on such a big show. At least she looked "Stevie".

Maybe it's time to nominate Stevie for "What Not to Wear". She often gets it right but some of her stage costumes are awful. I'd like to see her get a great designer to make her some pieces. How much would they love to dress her?

Stevie loves wearing black and does wear it well. There was a time she stopped wearing it because of the, "witch rumor" and started wearing white.

Oh well....mamma has the money, she worked hard and suffered to make it so guess she is entitled to wear whatever mamma wants to wear! *sigh* Come to think of it.........she doesn't have that problem like I do.....you know the one: standing in your closets (I have 2 full) staring wondering what to wear.
Maybe there is a reason to her madness!

That is exactly why she said she wears the costume. She doesn't have that dressing anxiety of what to wear.

they are a bit harsh but they don't bother me so much anymore. At least she's been continually evolving with her glove choices of late. Something new has been popping up fairly regularly. Now if we could just get her to follow suit with the rest of her clothes! :laugh:
