Hey I was thinking, that stevie hasn't released a proper tour schedule, because of right now its here and there situation, is she going to have a regular tour, and not this here and there?

She will! My friends works as a tour promoter and says they have been fielding offers, just unsure of venue sizes. I have a feeling the dates will be announced with the new single in a few weeks. I do have a feeling though that the tour will probably be August-October (6 weeks in the US).

Ugh, I hope it doesn't coincide with Lindsey's tour. With my luck they will both play in RI on the same day.

She better not start this thing in late September when I move to the UK or I will seriously cry..

I can't wait to hear an actual tour schedule! If it's in the US I'll try and get tickets and work a budget out, but if there ay Europan dates I'm THERE! After about 12 years as a fan I can finally see her live solo!
Well she never seems to stay idle for long. I think it will happen.

I really hope so, since I leave for England in October.
In the last year, she's had a tendency to announce shows 2-4 weeks before they happen. I wouldn't be surprised if she announced a tour on this short of notice, as well. I hope she does... I will be so upset if she announces a tour that starts while I'm gone.

At this point, I hope she bypasses touring and goes straight into recording with Fleetwood Mac instead. The ball has been dropped in regards to promoting this album: Stevie wasn't put on the late night talk shows, she didn't have a music video to promote her first single until it was too late, she saturated the major touring markets earlier this year with Rod Stewart, she sang only ONE song from the new album at all her shows this year (sans Wiltern), and the album itself is set to fall off the charts next week. I think IYD is past the point of revival at this point.
Stevie's gotten the best critical acclaim of her career from IYD, that in itself is a triumph. She should just take that forward motion and go straight into the studio with Fleetwood Mac vs touring. She's pretty much toured every single year this past decade. Enough already! My guess is this won't happen, especially considering Lindsey's album won't be released until this Fall, and he has tour dates already planned. He'll want the book closed on his album before he goes into the studio with Fleetwood Mac.
I'm guessing Stevie will indeed do some more shows later in the summer & perhaps into early Fall. But what form that'll take, I'm unsure. She can't fill the corporate amphitheaters by herself anymore. So she either has to come up with a touring partner, or go to smaller venues. Perhaps that's what's going on behind the scenes right now, and why there seems to be a lull in the storm.

That can't happen though, right? Doesnt Buckingham have a new album due in Sept? Unless we get a "let's make this a Mac album" again *slaps forehead* ;)

I hope she will do something by herself before she head to Austrailia in the fall.I hope not in Sept.Thats my busy season at work. The little tour in August last year was fine. She does not have to do a big blow out tour like in 2007 and 2008.But she should do it to promote the cd.I still think the Rod combo through her for a hoop and screw her cd release. She should of told him NO.not this time.I have a CD to take care of.Anyway I did had a blast at his show after all.and almost gotten clobbered with a soccer ball in the mean time.LOL.......
Dave's more then welcome to come.

There is so much wrong right here. :distress:
Louie! Dude! Just because this album hasn't had the promotion it deserves doesn't mean it needs to continue to skulk off towards the sunset without a peep. These songs are incredible! They deserve to be heard.
And Stevie may be disappointed to play smaller venues, but at least she'll see that people care. Wouldn't it be a bigger blow to have the album entirely forgotten, those songs played only once? How can she throw herself creatively into a Fleetwood Mac album if an album she considers her great artistic achievement goes completely unrecognized?

Also, I have very little to do this summer. Literally, in August I think I'm working one day a week--what better time to chase Stevie across the country? And how unique will that look as an extracurricular/summer activity on my grad school apps?
I'd really rather not have to go all the way to Australia for her. Sometimes, school takes priority over Stevie...(not often).

The songs are indeed very good. I would disagree that they're incredible, but opinions are subjective so there's no point in me arguing that. :) I'm not downplaying the fact this is one of Stevie's best albums, it absolutely is. I'm just saying that the way it's been handled is a trainwreck. There isn't much of a point in Stevie touring now because it won't really equate to more sales. Stevie's just toured SO MUCH this decade. I'd much rather see her keep her recording energy flowing, that's all. We've waited so very long for new material. I guess I'd just rather her keep recording vs wasting more time touring.
And if these songs really meant the world to Stevie, she would have performed more than Secret Love this year. Especially for the casino shows just after IYD was released. But she didn't. Yes, the Wiltern was the show of every Stevie fan's wet dreams. But it was a one-off event. That sort of setlist will never happen again. When Stevie tours this summer (and she will tour, that's what she does folks), we'll be back to the same old setlist, with just a few new songs sprinkled in. If Stevie were truly proud of her album, she'd play that Wiltern set every night on her upcoming tour. But she won't. And that's why Stevie touring holds zero interest to me anymore. I'd much rather her hit the studio and try to make up for her 10 year hiatus! :D

I honestly think that we're going to get 4-5 new songs off the record on a summer tour. You have to keep in mind that a lot of this isn't necessarily Stevie's choice... she has a lot of people who rely on her paycheck who know that she sells better when playing the hits. I think Stevie takes other people's advice and just goes with it.
Frankly, Louie, I think you're going to be very surprised. Dave WILL tour with her if she isn't with Rod and Dave WILL try to convince her to play more of the new record. We wouldn't have gotten 8 new songs at the Wiltern without him, and the performances went so well that I couldn't see him letting her drop the ball.

I fully realize this is just my opinion, and mine alone, but I have lost all interest in seeing Stevie live ever again. I just don't care about that aspect anymore. I guess I devoured IYD so quickly that I'm already longing for new material from Stevie. I've been a Stevie fan for 18 years, and this past decade has just been maddening. So many dropped balls. So much forward momentum lost. Tours year after year without new material to support; horrid cover songs thrown into the setlist. It has just totally soured me to ever paying to see Stevie live again. Yes, I know I'm probably the only Stevie fan who feels this way and I'm fine with that. I respect all the other fans longing for yet another summer tour. I'm just not one of those people. :)
My thought train is this: I just don't want Stevie to get back into the touring rut, and push recording back into a dark corner. Her management seems intent on doing just that. I want more new material from Stevie because IYD was really good. And I think it's just the tip of the iceberg of what she's still capable of. I just want her to hurry back into recording, hopefully with Fleetwood Mac. I don't want to see her management pimp her out on yet another hit$ tour. And then another after that. Yes, I know that most fans don't feel that way, and I am speaking for no one but myself.

Agreed. The way this has been promoted and (not) performed has been a total mess.

Again, I agree completely. It's been a massive contradiction between the faith and confidence Stevie projects in this album and a seeming insecurity with her tour setlists. I hope I'm wrong though. However, we're used to such infuriating contradictions.
However, having never seen Stevie live as a solo performer at all I can't agree with louie's final statement. Of course I'll go and see her and be VERY excited about it! Sad as it is, fans in other territories than US/Australia just have to take what we can get!

When artists go out and tour for their record, they play songs off their new record. I tend to think people come to hear the new stuff, as well. I just saw Kylie Minogue a few weeks ago (I previously saw her greatest hits tour) and she sang all but 2 songs off her new album, PLUS her biggest hits. She has a huge catalog of stuff, that people seem to not miss the songs she didn't perform. Kylie also takes one or requests that are not in her setlists from the audience and sings them a capella. It is such a rare treat to hear those because they vary from night to night. Why can't Stevie sing a few bars from Nightbird or Angel? It would salivate the fans and make a lot of people happy with just a few lines....
With that said, Stevie hasn't toured behind a new album since TISL...and she did start with songs from the record...Every Day, Planets, Sorcerer, Bombay Sapphires, Fall From Grace....but eventually BS and Planets were dropped. It's ashame.... I will never understand the distaste for new, live songs. I would not want to be in her band! What a bore of a show day in and day out!

I have faith that Stevie will tour behind In Your Dreams, it's just a matter of logistics at this point and plans will probably be unveiled in a few weeks to a month. I agree with Macmanforever that the Heart & Soul tour threw Stevie off a bit. She was saddled singing a nostalgia setlist, not a IYD set list. And as far as promotion for IYD, H&S was a cash grab mistake which I believe did little to elevate exposure for her new CD & caused her to become fatigued and eventually sick right when her new record came out, no time to rehearse new material for the casino shows sprinkled throughout May and to cancel TV appearances & Webster Hall :distress:. But despite that IYD has done reasonably well (selling 100K copies so far) with little promotion & still is in the top 50 albums in it's 5 week (dropping 1 spot this week).
I can understand why some want Stevie to go back in the studio & record. But that's unrealistic, especially if IYD drops outta sight and does not sell respectably by the years end - that alone would be incentive for Stevie not to want to record again solo or with FM. And besides, Lindsey is busy the rest of the year with his own solo record with a smattering of scheduled gigs & appearances here and there - there is no way for FM to record this year anyway. Stevie is doing press now in the UK, prepping Europe for IYD's release date there in a few weeks, and then probably back here in July hopefully with a new single and announcement of the official In Your Dreams 2011 Tour with Dave or with someone else (ala Chris Issaks) to keep her busy promoting her incredible new record throughout the rest of the year till the holidays. And less we forget, we still have the documentary/film to look forward to in @2-3 months in some form or another. So promotion for Stevie's record is far from over.
2012 will be the reconvening of Fleetwood Mac, either on the road or in the studio (fingers crossed) or both:shrug:.

I saw her in March and she did exactly this - it was WONDERFUL!! I've been a huge fan for over 20 years and it was by far the best show she has ever done. The acapella requests thing is now and I'm so glad she does that now. What requests did she do on your night?

Well, when she did the "For You, For Me" Tour I saw her all three nights in NYC....I can't remember them all...but one night was "Your Disco Needs You"....the whole song a cappella! AMAZING. The last night was "I Should Be So Lucky"...the version on the live CD. I can't recall the first night request.
I saw "Les Follies" in Ft Lauderdale and she did "Hand On Your Heart" and another one but I was so in shock with HOYH, I don't remember the other song.

Yes - we got Your Disco Needs You Too! She pulled a guy from the front rwo up on stage. He was 3 people away from me in the same row and for a second I thought she was pointing at me!! Alas, no. It was a guy called Robert who was in drag and actually dressed in a similar jacket to Kylie at the time (the orange fethery Step Back In Time type one). She complemented his look but said that she was wearing better shoes! He then asked for Your Disco Needs You and yes, she did it... complete with those HUGE high notes at tne end 0 flawless!
Hand On Your Heart is my favourite early Kylie tune! I've seen her do it twice before but if she'd done it on the Les Follies tour - I'd have loved it!! The biggest shock of the night was If You Don't Love Me though - such a beautiful surprise!

As much as I'd like to read that he would be part of Stevie's touring band, I doubt Dave will tour with her...he's busy with that new goofy "Super Heavy" band he, Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, one of Bob Marley's offspring & AR Rahman (the guy who did the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack) are trying to get off the ground. I'll bet Keef is pissed off, he's gearin' up for the Stones' 50th anniversary tour extravaganza & "Brenda" is jerkin' around with this other band.

If Stevie came to Texas with that setlist, I'd go see her. I'm just not interested in hearing the same old songs year in and year out with just a few little tweaks and revisions. I think Stevie drastically changed the quality of her recorded music on IYD... now she needs to bring that drastic change to her setlist. :) She's ridden the oldies wave for a loooooong time. She can take a break for one tour, right?

It's funny-- I would think that you'd want her to tour now more than ever since she finally has new material to play!
So you want her to tour if she dramatically changes the setlist but not if she does the same crap? I would entirely agree with that, but to me, there's very little chance that she'll do an oldies tour to support this new record-- especially with how the absolute f*cking brilliance that was the Wiltern show. She should keep 7 of those 8 songs in (excluding "Soldier's Angel"). They transferred to the stage so well that there's no reason for her to avoid them.
But if she's planning on only performing a new song or two (or three) on a summer tour, I'd agree with you. She'd be much more productive in the studio with Fleetwood Mac. My only worry is that she's growing older and won't be able to tour in 5-10 years... but she'll still be able to record.

does anybody think SN will go and do some dates in Europe in the summer (other then the one she already has)? considering her CD drops there soon that would make sense...
here are Lindsey's tour dates announced so far:
Boulder, CO 8/10-13 (not really a tour date, a preview performance)
Boston, MA 9/25 ?
Towson, MD 9/30
Durham, NC 10/1
Jacksonville, FL 10/3
Las Vegas, NV 10/14
Anaheim, CA 10/17
so he'll be busy Aug-Oct, and Stevie is touring Australia in Nov.
i don't see FM reconvening before SN/DS are back from Australian tour. so i agree that beginning of 2012 seems to be the earliest FM will get back together (hope that will be in the studio).

I completely disagree with this. There's no reason for Nicks to move on from promoting IYD. This is one of the strongest albums of her career, if not THE strongest, and there is so much more that can and should be done to promote the album: 2nd and 3rd singles, a tour, possibly tying "Moonlight" in with 'Breaking Dawn', etc. The album is still in the Top 50, nowhere near "falling off the charts". She should keep promoting it through the end of the year regardless, because Mac isn't going to do anything until Spring 2012 at the earliest anyway due to Buckingham's solo album.

I think/hope this may happen buy my biggest gripe is that dates should be announced and that tickets should be on sale by now if this is the case.

Yes it was. So Beautiful! We always scream out "Butterfly". It's my friend's favorite song.
Sorry. OT.
Nice random non-single choice!! She did Butterfly on the On A Night Like This Tour in 2001. Excellent. It got a brief US release too and di quite well in the dance charts.
