Dave Stewart tweeted Dani that we needed to start some kind of IYD tour campaign, otherwise we are going to end up with "another Rod." So people have been tweeting their wishes for a tour, and Dani took it upon herself to make a video that is successfully making its rounds in the twitter world.
Mimi and I liked the idea so we made videos as well.
This is the prime opportunity to embarrass myself:

I think anybody else interested should make videos too!

Not to discourage your attempts for stimulating an IYD tour, but how will making videos saying you want an In Your Dreams tour differ from your posting here that you want an In Your Dreams tour--other than to give a face to the message? Is that what you think will work? Perhaps you're correct. Stevie's and Fleetwood Mac's management are well aware of this website. John McVie has posted here, along with others associated with the band in various capacities. I think they already know the sentiment of the internet fans here. It doesn't seem the Fleetwood Mac internet fans are the people they really care about--they bought the album the day it came out. The 2500 people that sent Stevie birthday messages are the ones that bought the new cd causing it to debut at #6. I think the campaign Dave is speaking about is the campaign to reach others. How does one do that? Perhaps buy a few cds for your friends. Have many even heard Stevie's cd on the radio? Call your own local radio station and ask them to play it, maybe.
Perhaps Dave Stewart needs to give you more concrete information on what he really wants you to do. There is already information posted on this website saying a tour is probably going to happen starting in August.
I think Stevie's got to do more PR work, too. She had Oprah and Ellen. She's got to get Dave, Conan and Jay spots, as well. It's her album. She's got to continue to sell it.

It may not differ in any significant way but it's something in addition to posting here. Dave has retweeted our videos and he has also said that we can send letters to her management.
I did see the tour information posted and I heard roughly the same things spoken from some people after The Wiltern show. The videos are just another fun way to show that the demand for a tour is there (and that we would like Dave to tour with her).

I'll tell you exactly what Dave wants us to do since he's been communicating with me about it.
a) campaign on Twitter
b) send letters to Stevie's management
Kristin Burns, David Wild and Dave Stewart all retweeted my video. I think the videos are a good idea because they are much more personal than a 160 character tweet. They let us say what we want to say in a bigger time frame AND they put faces and voices to the fans who want this to happen. In my opinion, a five minute long video is much more powerful than the same sentiment typed over and over again in a sentence or two and posted on Twitter every few minutes. At any rate, Dave liked my video and so did the other 50 people who retweeted it.
Stevie's people are all over the Ledge and Dave's people are all over Twitter. I guarantee she'll hear about this.

I literally just got a twitter, but am planning to post a vid later today. I desperately want an IYD tour, and if there's even a slight chance a fan campaign could help that along, I'm all in. And I'll be in good company.

Just perusing the board. Might one ask 'why' we would end up with another 'Rod'? Is Stevie so sure that people won't turn up to see her? That boggles my mind. Stevie Nicks needing a sidekick? How is she that out-of-touch with her fans? I'm shocked. I really am. I just assumed because she put this album together and she's so happy about it that she couldn't wait to get out on the road and tour with it. What the funk, Stevie?

Lots of acts are doing the "dual tour" thing right now- Heart and Def Leppard, Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock, Train and Maroon 5. I guess if the management wants their acts to fill sheds, this is the current strategy. I think Stevie should play smaller venues, like theaters that hold anywhere from 1000-4000. I totally don't undertand why her management seems to refuse to consider that.

I think she just wants to be able to play the huge venues. She makes more money at arenas. I think she's having a hard time facing the fact that she can't sell out 18,000 person venues anymore.

she needs to realize the economy plays a big part of not selling out stadiums. people are working two jobs trying to keep their home. others are job hunting and stressed over every penny they spend - just grocery shopping stresses them out. it's not a great time to think people can pay for concerts. she shouldn't take it personally if she can't sell out stadiums lately.

I think it has less to do with a choice by Stevie's Management and more to do with what's on offer. Don't promoters need to offer you the tour support rather then you deciding... If no promoters jump at a proposal of a solo theatre/small venue tour - they likely will at the thought of teaming up with someone creating a unique experience... It's all about making some cash in everyones case. And last I heard Live Nation owned the majority of the outdoor venues in the US?

I think you've hit the nail on the head. It's not that she can't fill big venues it's the prices these days for tickets and other expenses. Times are hard out here. You have to decide between Stevie Nicks concert or rent, gas, food... I think if the economy was better she could fill larger venues. Man, the ticket prices these days. She ought to try one big venue at reduced ticket prices and see what happens. Couldn't hurt. But totally not her choice I assume.

I like these videos. The only way I would go see Stevie though is if she actually sang 5 or 6 songs from the new album. I'm not going to go to any concert of hers that just rehashes what I've seen before. Secretly, I wish she would sing this whole album for posterity. Forget Landslide, Dreams and Stand back. Maybe just add the song Trouble in Shangri La, Talk to Me, After the Glitter Fades or Rooms on Fire. I would like to hear those live again.

Great videos, awesome job. Maybe others can make some, maybe some quick vids under a minute or so that tell why they want her to tour? How is it that she has toured several times in the 2000's without new material to support and the first time she has new material in 10 years, she's not touring?

DITTO!!!!!!! IYD is a masterpiece, as is BD, WH, RAL,TISL all are appreciated for their debut at their point in her career. They are different in their own right, as they represent where she was at in her life at those times. IYD just verifies her tremendous talent as a songwriter and singer, she is one of a kind! I have always loved her music through the years, and her music has helped me throught the highs and lows of my life. To me her music is timeless! I just love her!

I wouldn't want fans who say, 'Yes, sing the same stuff concert after concert and we'll still keep paying to see you.' That's not much of a compliment to Stevie. Stevie's a creative person and stagnating is death for creative people. She went out on her own because she couldn't be as creative as she liked in Fleetwood Mac. The Mac only songs weren't enough for her. So, your opinion is really like the anti-Stevie. *finger is cross shape* Back! Back!

I didn't say that she should keep singing the same song nor did I say there was anything wrong with the songs that she's singing! Yes some people want her to sing something different, but are THEY the artist? Yes she branched out on her own to be more creative. Ok we all know that. However if this is her artistic expression, who r we to say that it's wrong?
Now what about her dress, her hair, her makeup, the words she chooses......?
I'm an artist and I be damned for someone to tell me what I should and shouldn't do with my art! If it's that disliked/hated............y buy?

I can see both sides, and tend to feel that there are many ways to be a Stevie fan. If someone else loves her enough to think and post about her multiple times a day, I don’t know that it’s fair to decide they aren’t a good enough fan, or don’t love Stevie the right way. Everyone here loves Stevie and wants the best for her, but we have different visions of what “the best” entails.

Bingo.
I will see Stevie regardless of what her set list looks like, but nothing beats how proud I was when she ripped out 8 new songs at the Wiltern. She's too good to be a hit-only singer this early in her life.

Stevie has always loved her fans. And not liking an outfit, hair, makeup has nothing to do with buying the music. I wish she'd get rid of that ruffly skirt that makes her behind look bigger than it its. I'm not a fan? Wear more colors. She looks great in colors. That's not her art. That's her stage presence, which is for the fans. The appearance is for the fans. The stage setup is for the fans. All that crap is for the fans and the audience. Stevie's smart enough to know that, but sometimes she does get into slumps. So, what's the big deal?
I know you're going to think this is weird, but if she needs a side kick, why not Taylor Hicks? The Hicks/Nicks tour. She can promote her CD & well, he can just promote himself. How about it? And he has a little more energy than Rod.

I want an all over the world tour or something......
I d prefer a dave tour to a rod tour thou. But at least i neeeeeeeed one concert in germany.
How do i say this...
Oh, i know. I want a concert in France sooo bad. I'm kind of the selfish type, so i won't be making any videos for a IYD tour when i know that i'll never have the chance to actually go to a show. I'm loving the ones that you've made, guys, though, i've watched every one of them and i'm just proud of this "fan community", somehow.

Totally. I mean, i'm here, and not writing much on this board because i know that, for example, i can't be a part of this cause, and i can't be a part of different projects that you have here on The Ledge. I'm not exactly "left out" or anything, it's just my choice to stay quiet here, and still feel very involved in all those discussions. That's my way.
Anyway, great videos, i'm optimistic about them since i think that they'll at least have an impact on Dave, and Dave's opinion (and yours) seem to be the ones that matter the most to Stevie. We're kind of halfway there.

Not sure what you're asking, but if Stevie's not touring in the US (for now), i don't think she'll tour in Europe. Actually, i'm very pessimistic about a possible Europe tour. That's why i'm not making any videos. I'll be like the only crazy French fan to do that, and i guess that the same goes for German fans ! You can make a video, but i don't think it will be that useful, when it comes to the question of an eventual Europe tour :(.

That's great. You just could enjoy both the excitement of a first concert, and the excitement of being right in front of Stevie!
We had some problems too, the day of the show. However, i had a place front row (well, we were standing). I was not in front of Stevie, but very very close, and Lindsey did the whole "I'm so afraid" RIGHT in front of me. Though i don't love the song, i was blown away.

It's definitely him -- I know that for fact! How exciting!
(DISCLAIMER: I think it would be very unwise for fans to try to add him on Facebook. Just my 2cents but I'm pretty sure that page is private and he'll want it to stay that way.)

"Big concert announcement at 7 AM tomorrow. Here is the hint...it sometimes happens to you when shaving. Can you guess the show?", with a picture of a lady shaving with a razor.
Two or three people guessed Stevie "Nicks". I looked on pollstar for Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Times Union Center, Palace Theatre and Turning Stone Casino and found no new announcements for anyone.
Could it be??? You think someone here would have dug something up before this.

That was a whole lot of awesome concentrated in 6:13. I've never seen Star Trek so half of it probably glided right over my head, but it was clearly brilliant.

So I made another video.. kind of a part 2 & thanking people for supporting the FB page. I want to just post it on the FB page's wall, but not make it post to everyone's walls (because that'd be annoying). Like post it as "Kendel" and not as the "Stevie Nicks IYD FB Page". Does that make sense? Anyone know how to do this?

I love that this thread exists and I love your enthusiasm. Fan-generated campaigns have value and I hope everyone that has the time to read this takes a minute to at least click the like button on the Facebook page. An actual thread where Stevie is not attacked, unfairly criticized, insulted or held responsible for things beyond her control or authority?
It's like finding a unicorn in my own backyard.
