-Sharon walking over to Stevie's mic to sing her "well I hear you" part on Edge of Seventeen
-Don Boyette
-The Enchanted-era forehead jewels
-Stevie's elaborate wardrobe
-Christine McVie
-The SYW tour cardigan (hated it at the time, but looking at older pics, and decided it's kind of cute...she just wore it into the ground)
-Bootleg trading
-When Fleetwood Mac concerts weren't so predictably rehearsed and contrived (I'm talking about song intros, interactions between SN and LB, etc)
-The phrase "Shangri-Lalian"
-The 2003 SYW tour bangs (shoot me now for saying that...I LIKED THEM!)

Hmm. Al Ortiz is a great bass player. Has way less stage charisma than Boyette, though.

The SYW tour cardigan? Wow... it made her look like a biddy.

I do miss Christine McVie too...

to quote that clown in Seinfeld... "You're livin in the past man! Yer hung up on some clown from the sixties!!"

I don't know who Bozo is, what is he a clown? Ya gotta love Seinfeld

I miss a lot of things about the Enchanted Tour- Frank on guitar(ok I thought he was cute), Mindy Stein , I liked the intro with the reading of the definition of the word, and finally the set list how I would love to hear Sleeping Angel again :)

i miss the forehead jewels too, but just a trendy thing of the late 90's.
MISS Miss Christine
still HATE the cardigan, as does she. i think Lindsey ordered her to "tone it down" on that tour.
don't recall bangs on SYW tour. i thought she had a side part swept off of her forehead.
thoughful list, though. i enjoy your posts!

A few more:

-The high note in Fall From Grace on "make sure you sureVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE"
-A really rocking "Rhiannon"
-FM embracing the penguin mascot
-Opening with "Outside the Rain"...I'll be the first one to complain about a boring setlist, but there's just something about hearing the opening chords of that song to get you REALLY energized and into full-on Stevie Concert Mode :-)

I definitely miss the forehead jewels and penguins too.

I also miss the full on Rhiannon sleeves. Stevie only unfurls them for like the 30 second bridge of the song this past decade. I HATE that.

I also miss the wind machines they'd put on Stevie back in the '70s. They gave her such atmosphere and presence.

I am glad she has brought back the crescent moon necklace this past decade, though. That used to be the #1 thing of hers I missed. :)

First, a grouching session (mostly because I didn't finish my first cup of coffee yet). Lindsey did not make her wear that granny sweater (which I actually had no issue with, either). He probably did ask her if she could tone it down, and in typical cut-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face fashion, she came up with this. And he probably DISLIKED it, so she wore it for two years.
I would.
Anything to make a point;-)

Now, I miss...oh, shoot. I forgot what I was going to say! Uh...I miss new clothing. She has a designer pretty much on call and...we see the same stuff over and over again (cue Everyday in the background).

Oh, the canned speeches! So funny. I have a friend who I was standing next to--front row--who was kind of giving the speech along with Lindsey (for my entertainment). He noticed her doing it and laughed. But at least, we don't know now if he's going the art route or the film route. Or the big machine/little machine route. Stevie has the edge here because she loves going on tangents (my favorite thing!)

You can totally see the "Desperate Housewives" Terri Hatcheresque over botoxed brow that Stevie was talking about going on here. It is clear here WHY she chose to trim her bangs for the second leg of the tour. Her forehead/eye muscles are just DEAD.

or .......

maybe she was trying to de-sexify herself because of the man standing to her left.

or.....

she heard that rumour that if you dress like a biddy all the young boys wanna sit on your lap.

Oh yes, I remember this cardigan well.

I remember seeing it in person....it was not the MOST unfortunate thing I have ever seen, but it was not great. The higher neckline made her look shorter and wider. A lower neckline is much more flattering because it elongates her. I remember thinking the skirt she wore was incredibly unfortunate. That combined with the cardigan just did not go well AT ALL. Ya, it basically was a mess.

But, we have to remember that 99% of the pictures taken of her are from an upward angle. That angle is not flattering for ANYONE. But, no excuses for "The Cardigan."

Very true!!! That's about the only thing she could do at this point to make either of those songs slightly interesting to us at a concert.

I've often wondered why she doesn't rework them somewhat. Change the key a bit if she has to. Or else try singing them in a softer voice (like she sings the verses of moonlight on the album) where she is able to more readily access her higher register. Although judging from the video of Moonlight in the recent concert I noticed she didn't use that soft voice during the live version. For some reason I think that she feels like she's got to belt out everything in a concert. I remember having the same complaint during the SYW tour when they closed with Goodbye Baby. I love her soft voice but I don't know where it is in concert!!!

Man I know... she RAISES the key of For What It's Worth live when she reaches the low notes in the studio version easily every time she does Landslide live, but can't lower Rhiannon or Dreams a bit to keep the melodies intact? I don't get it

Christine is more like a MASSIVE thing that I miss. Dull throbbing ache.

I would.

And she wore it to appearances where Lindsey was not even present. Don't tell me that it was just because it was the only thing that could fit her and Margi had a broken arm and couldn't whip something else up on short notice.

Yes yes yes. Not to make comparisons, but Imoved recently and I came across Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tourbook from a few years back - my goodness it was nearly half an inch thick and filled with full page high gloss color photos!

I know Stevie loves her brother and wants to let him in on her career, but he seriously needs to give up the tourbooks, give up the t-shirt design - and most of all give up the fan club rights to someone who will actually DO something.

SEVERAL things about Rhiannon...First off, I miss it being at the end of the concert. That song was and is her signature piece. Ok, I guess I should clarify that I miss it being last in her solo sets as it was always about the 5th song in on FM tours. As someone mentioned earlier, I miss Lindsey's guitar solo and the longer interlude part. When I saw The Dance concert on MTV I was gearing up for Lindsey's solo only to have it squashed. I've also noticed since then that the interlude gets shorter and shorter. There use to at least be a few minutes and now it's literally about 15 seconds before the "dreams unwind" part. For a song that used to be such a showstopper for them, they've really axed that notion completely.

On the solo Rhiannon, I miss the Roy Bittan style piano intro. This continued til RAL and then it changed until we permanently have the Dance version.

On Dreams, I miss the "and what you HAAAAADDDDD", but, more important, I really have missed the final belting out of "well, women they will come and they will go etc etc." It always seemed like such a fitting climax to the song and the way she used to punctuate that line. That's been gone for way too long.

Oh, and the square mic.

I miss the cool bootleg cds with great artwork on them. Sorry but they were 'Cool' to me esp since like all of this stuff isn't gonna ever get 'offically' released. Like all the 'live' songs etc (Stevie and Mac) same for dvd's too.
I miss the great Stevie Fanzines we used to have. Yes, with the Net you can see things in an instant but I love looking through my old paper fanzines. I loved it when my 'snail' mail came and still do. Just not as much anymore though. Or the goodies I used to get from penpals in the snail mail too. Tapes/photos it was a fun time.
I do miss Stevie's 'vocals' from 78-84 and look. Those are my favorite times. Not that I don't like her 'now' but that will always been my favorite time.
I miss more rare songs getting 'out there' and rare photos too. That always keep me interested really. Don't really get that too much more now a days.
I miss the great logo writing on the LP covers (I'll always love the BD and WH writings even RAL/Mirror--Enchanted's nice but not the feather.)
I miss hearing about 'rare' promo items from tours or rare posters from LP's.
I miss 'B' sides too (others have mentioned this).
I miss Stevie's colored boots (blue/red/pink/creme she states she has like 40 pairs all in different colors--some article sorry don't recall)
I miss the colorful outtfits and shawls on stage. I miss the in between chatter.
I guess I'll always miss alot but it is what it is. I could probably keep going but I'll stop for now.
