I hope someone will be able to diverge from the Stevie Forum and be able to contribute to this thread. I feel like others feel the same way I do.

I am terribly upset that I didn't attend the Stevie Nicks birthday bash, I'm more upset because I feel like I try to go to many Stevie/lindsey/FM concerts because I don't want to miss out on something special happening. The one concert I don't go to, everything happens =(. I am so pissed at myself, but maybe if I write about it a little, this will help me and other as well. Perhaps this could be a thread where we can all vent.

First: My reason for not going~
-I just finished finals last Friday, and that's where my head was during the presales. I was studying and trying not to fail!

-Money, all the time, money. On that last day of finals, I didn't have time to relax because I came straight home to help my parents move. As I am typing we are still moving things, but I just can't have this on my mind any longer.

- My father just had a heart attack, and I feel like I should be less selfish, and help take care of him.

Second: Feelings that flooded into my heart and mind the day of~

-I want to meet the ledgies! I wanted to hang out with you guys at 3:30 in the morning an LA how awesome is that? I want to see what kind of personalities you all have, and let you see mine. And of course, share great stories about the band we love.

-I absolutely love this album, and I wanted to see Stevie sing these live, plus have a cupcake!

Anyway. I am feeling a little bit better, and I invite people to sympathize with one another, and talk about how you feel. Maybe I am the only one.

I'm not so upset about missing the show... The YouTube videos were great. Nice to see Buckingham up onstage with her.

But if you need me to be upset, I am upset about the fact that my Barnes and Noble copy of IYD has yet to arrive.

Fact is, if that psychopath hadn't punch me in the eye, I would have gone to the show. So yes I am angry. I know I will get over it, but it jsut acts as a reminder of how it's eye-punch that keeps giving.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howzat for expressing my feelings about missing out on Wiltern?!

But srsly, thank the stars above for YouTube videos and the people who took them!

Had I known (there would be so many new songs,) I very much would have:

Taken vacation time off work
Bought a very expensive, short notice plane ticket
Put my neurotic, hyper little Yorkie-Poo in boarding (yes - this is extreme...)
Rented a car
Stayed in a very expensive nearby hotel
Drove back to the airport the next morning
Flown back home
Picked up my neurotic, hyper little Yorkie-Poo from boarding, who soon will be vomitting all over the floor of the car because she's just that neurotic
... and been very happy with no regrets because I would be hoarse from screeching with delight for three hours having had a blast at the newly revamped Stevie Nicks show. And prolly exhausted and wiped out too.

Now if she brings this show to a theater near me, I will sooooooo be there! It's been 6 years. {{{{hope, hope, hope}}}}

It was epic, yes, and I wish I had been there. But truthfully, there is probably a ZERO percent chance I'll be able to go out west like that for a show, so I knew it was coming. Just hoping for a tour so I can see her this summer! :)

No, seriously, you didn't get your copy of IYD yet from B&N? I ordered mine from them like a week after IYD was released & got it like maybe five days later. You need to contact B&N.

And no, I'm not upset about missing Stevie's birthday bash. She's misses mine every year so we're even!

Oh, & sywlindsey fan, I hope your dad is feeling better.

I intially felt completely shafted when this show was announced. It was just a few days after the Webster show was cancelled, not to mention I had JUST returned from a trip to LA and taken 5 days off of work for aforementioned trip/planned Stevie shows in NYC and AC, and had 2 more vacation days in the coming days spoken for, so additional time off from work just wasn't possble. Talk about sucky timing. I was feeling so bummed.

After the dust settled from the announcement of the LA show and it was clear from her few appearances that she was really getting over being pretty sick, I came around and totally understood why she had to cancel her east coast shows. Knowing she was recovering and bouncing back, I was feeling relieved that this was just a minor setback, and again, bad timing.

When everything started to gel last week with Ledgie meeting up plans in LA and more people from here came forward with flying x-country to go, I really started to wonder why I didn't just figure out a way to go. I was feeling so mad it just couldn't happen for me.

I had the luxury of hanging out with two fellow ledgies last night, all of us with different reasons for not being able to go last night. We had a fun time just talking all night about all things SN/LB/FM and then we settle in with some wine, check our phones and see the setlist. We see confirmation that Mick is there. We officially know Lindsey is playing Soldier's Angel with Stevie. 8 new songs. Well, ok, 7 cause we've all heard Secret Love already. But still 8 IYD songs. Hell, Moonlight and FWIW are even in there. Songs we all WANTED to hear live, but weren't sure we'd ever get to. Now I am feeling so jealous, I just want to scream.

I get home, read some twitter accounts, go to bed for a few hours, wake up, and get ready for work. I am tired as can be and after reading Michele's review just prior to leaving my house, decided I am just a glutton for punishment as a Stevie Nicks fan.

I put in a few hours at work, log in here and the first video I see is Soldier's Angel, followed by Ghosts are Gone. The reality of what I missed really sets in. I am officially heartbroken.

BUT as 2 good people said to me last night...the best things come to those who wait. Our time will come.

Thank you to everyone who shared their experience, shot video, took pictures and is taking the time to share with us here. It truly is a gift from a few to many. I feel grateful that we live in a digital age where within a few hours, the rest of us who couldn't be there can just for a moment, feel like we were.

"The best things come to those who wait" is ****e. I went to the AHI benefit in '98, waited patiently for Stevie to mill though our tables, as we were told to, and watched as the dinner was crashed by fans without tickets who swarmed Stevie, got to meet her, got autographs, and watched Stevie leave early. I met Sharon at the airport afterward by chance and she told me I had to be more aggressive. That was the last time I sat and "waited".

I am upset that I missed the show and shed some tears over it. I friend who's seen Stevie's shows since the beginning of her career said it was the best show she ever saw. Al Ortiz was posting how thrilled he was to play the show and that the music was all so brilliant. Fans were all out of their minds with joy over it. I was happy for every one of them, until the actual time of the show when I was very sad about not being there. I was supposed to go to the NYC show, which would have been like this show, and I had to re-grieve that loss. So I did.

Now I am again thrilled for everyone that went. Though I still haven't been able to bring myself to watch the videos or see the photos. I will soon.

There's nothing wrong with being sad/angry for missing this. It was a chiffon head's dream come true. I'm sure many others feel the same way but won't commiserate for fear of criticism for being "selfish".

I can't say I'm "upset" about not going..."bummed", yeah...

...bummed because...

1) ...I just couldn't afford a ticket (monitary priorities)

2) ...I missed out on meeting a hoard of Ledgies at once (but, that would've risked having to reveal that my curmudgeon image here is a sham & there actually IS a miniscule "chiffon-head" that resides inside me...uh, wait, did I say that out loud?)

3)...it will go down as a one-of-a-kind show being that it was her birthday & all (with all the special guests...Lindsey, Mike, Dave, etc.)

But, it all comes down to karma...if I was MEANT to have been there, I would have been.

Now, I have to consider myself a lucky person. I got to jet off to LA from Providence to see Lindsey's special show last month. That was amazing! I had a mini vacation to LA the week after. I flew to NJ after LA so I could take the NJ Transit into NYC with my PIC Alex. We had it all figured out. Everything was set in stone. My vacation days were accounted for as were my hotel reservations. About 5 minutes before Alex arrived at my hotel in NJ all Hell broke loose. I saw a post on Twitter that the show was canceled. It must be a cruel joke I thought to myself. How could she do this to us?
OK we get confirmation it has been canceled. I rearrange my travel plans and buy myself a new Coach bag as a consultation prize/birthday present to myself. I feel just awful for people who spent their last dollar flying in from the opposite side of the country to see the show. Alex and I are pretty much in a state of shock. I felt bad she got sick but by the same token she should have taken better care of herself. I thought to myself "Lindsey would never do this to his fans" and sadly kind of continue to hate on Stevie.
Then on May 9th I hear about the birthday show. Mind you I find out the day after my birthday. I am praying the show is on that Saturday which I could do in a heartbeat. It's not. It's on her actual birthday which is on a stupid Thursday. Boy was I pissed. I work 2 jobs for my company so if getting out of one job is tough can you imagine getting out of two?
I decide to say the Hell with it and book my flight and get ticket to the show. Anyway to make a long story short we are down a person at work. My boss was going to take that week off for vacation. If I called out it would have left only one person in the department. I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
I think what broke my heart the most was when I found Lindsey WAS going to be there. I was so upset as was my friend. This was the show WE were supposed to see. When I saw that anyone and everyone as far as fans were going I just became ill. I should be there with my camera filming it all to share on YouTube. I don't wish any ill will on any of the fans who got to go at all. I am so happy for them! But, I will say if she doesn't do this exact same show on the east coast I doubt I'd see her solo shows. Not going to waste my money on a stale set list when I could see Lindsey perform his fabulous new music instead.

I am happy for all the Ledgies who went to the show. From the clips, pics, etc, it looked fabulous. She sounded amazing and seemed so happy.

I was actually stunned at how well she performed the new songs. I hope she tours and keeps most of the new songs in.

OK, so I feel I can come back on the ledge now, that I have cooled down for a while. I think it's great we are talking about how we feel if we are a tad bit not happy about missing out on this concert. It's good to let it out, haha. And the best thing is that I now know that i'm not alone with my feelings.

And no, I'm not upset about missing Stevie's birthday bash. She's misses mine every year so we're even!

Oh, & sywlindsey fan, I hope your dad is feeling better.

Lee :)

Haha! Seriously! Stevie misses all of our B-days every year! that's a great way of thinking about it. And yes Lee, my dad is doing a lot better thank you =).

YES!!! I Hope hope hope tooo. I understand! Part of the reason why i chose not to go as well was the repetition of her set list! All of a sudden we should have known that she was going to be super awesome, and play new songs? But anyway it's ok, because we can only hope she will show us grace on a new tour plus the all new rocking songs.

It was epic, yes, and I wish I had been there. But truthfully, there is probably a ZERO percent chance I'll be able to go out west like that for a show, so I knew it was coming. Just hoping for a tour so I can see her this summer! :)

Where are you from Musicman408? Yes we can only hope and wait for a summer tour, or even a late summer early fall?

I was probably right at the same spot you were that night of the concert...heartbroken. I'm sorry. I especially started feeling that way when I saw that she was going to be playing AL! and FWIW! I could...not...believe it. It's alright though. I live by your philosophy, good things do come for those who wait, and you know what? It may not come in Stevie form, but you may get a new appliance you have wanted, some time off, or even win a raffle of some sort. It's going to be all good. Thank you for sharing with us, and me Amlyn.

Totally agree. I’m a huge Lindsey fan, and I’ve gone to all his solo shows since 2006 because I know I’ll get something I haven’t seen before.

I can't say I'm "upset" about not going..."bummed", yeah...

Very right ChiliD, if we were meant to be there, then we would have been there.
