Amber (equeen1022) and I think it would be fun to grab dinner with some of the Ledgies located in the Los Angeles area the day before Wiltern show. Who would be interested in this? We had a lot of fun (possibly too much fun) in New York City so I'd love to hold a similar event the night before Wiltern!

I would, but I'll be working that day. I'll be driving in to LA the morning of the show (about 2 hours away).
I hope you guys have fun though! :D

I actually don't want to go out drinking. If anything at all, I'd just do dinner.
NYC was fun and all, but I honestly don't need a repeat.

Holy hell Batman, I just found out that Prince is going to be in LA that weekend. Never seen him live! Man I have a jumbo packed week in LA. Wouldn't count on it in a million, zillion years, but wouldn't it be awesome if Prince was @ SN's b-day or she swung by his show. Sigh. I'm not even that huge a fan of Prince, just have such respect for his catalog, and think it would be so awesome to see the 2 of them do pretty much ANYTHING!

I'll be flying in from Chicago and won't get there til 3 pm or so - I might have time for a quick dinner before hand if you do decide to meet up somewhere. Or Friday is an option as well

It appears there may be enough support for both, ie,
1) a pre-show gtg on Wednesday night, &,
2) a post-show gtg on Friday, suggest the Wilshire Hotel, (The Wilshire Hotel, 3515 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90010, Phone: 1 (213) 381-7411),

all those for Wednesday, say Wednesday......,
all those for Friday, say Friday......
we can do both......seperately.... or if you can "double-header",
"c'mon down"

I still have not figured out what to do after the show! I bought hiking shoes yesterday... I wanna go tramping (or horseback riding) around Joshua Tree and crash in Palm Springs for a couple of days. Never been to PS though... it sounds dull, but I wanna see some original Neutra houses! Wanna go?

How about The Magic Castle. One of Stevie's favorites. We can wear fabulous floor length ball gowns. Or not.
There are so many good places to eat in LA, which area(s) are you all staying?

I hung out in Palm Springs when I went to the Indio show. I also liveed there for 6 years so it was nice to see all the ol stopping grounds.
Its not so dull, lots to do, if your seriously into hiking the Indian Canyon is a great hike! You could take a tram ride to the top of the mt. Its right there when you get into town, if the season is right it could be 98-100 degree on the desert floor and snow at the top of the mt.
I can recommend some tramp area's too depending on what you looking for ;):D

I would but I'm flying back to Seattle on Friday night because my best friend is out of town and I'd have no where to stay all weekend :( I really wanted to spend the whole weekend there but so it goes....
We're hanging out on Friday though, no exceptions. I already have a few surprises up my sleeve for you.

You must must must do Joshua Tree NP. It's like you're on Mars. One end of the park is totally different from the other too - it's just a bizarre place. The coolest place I've ever been, I think.
Check out the 29 Palms Inn (next to the entrance to JP NP - kitchy little placemade of of a motel & several private adobe cottages built in the 1930's Great food & drink at the poolside restaurant too!

There is a Denny's Diner in the same building per se as the Wiltern - about 400 hundred feet from the front enterance.
There's also lots of "Korean BBQ" places all over since this is in the heart of Koreatown.
There's also a fabulous place down on Western Ave about 10 blocks from the Wiltern called El Cholo - they are famous for their margaritas and sweet corn tamales.
I will try to make it - I just need a time and where and I will try.:woohoo:

Isn't El Cholo where Mick asked Stevie and Lindsey to join FM? Or they went there to celebrate after they joined? Why does this seem to have an FM connection? Someone please refresh my memory...

I don't know that it was El Cholo, seeing as it is so far from Van Nuys. For some reason I think it was a Mexican place in the valley. Casa Vega? I am not sure the name was ever mentioned in the interview but maybe Casa Vega just sticks in my head because it is down the road from Conway Studios and has always been such a rock star hangout.
I can see it being that place because it is dark and sketchy and they have that cheesy drive up valet under the arch.

Got it. Thank you Google. From Carol Ann's book, she and Lindsey went to El Cholo, Lindsey's favorite mexican restaurant, to celebrate after picking up Lindsey's crazy kimono blazer outfits for the Tusk tour.
Just google Fleetwood Mac El Cholo.
How ridiculous that I just saw and held those friggin' jackets last week. LOL. Man was he skinny in 1980.
Small world.

No way, that place is way to mellow. Even though I won't be in attendance El Cholo is a fabulous choice and you can get as rowdy as you want.

I thought I had read that's where Lindsey and Stevie went to meet Christine McVie; Mick wanted to make sure she was ok with another girl in the band. Maybe it was another restaurant. El Cholo is pretty popular in LA and has been around forever.
