Worst Lyrics - It's gotta be a tossup between Can't Go Back and Eyes of the World: "A face as soft as a tear in a clown's eye" vs. "Monday's children are filled with face, Tuesday's children are filled with grace."

Should've been a hit single - Straight Back. It's very similar to Dreams in its appeal, but darker and more vocally intense.

Never understood the appeal of - Hold Me. Is that a cowbell or a woodblock? Either way, I'm not feeling it. Decent, catchy song but overrated and not nearly as strong as Love in Store.

Album could have been better if - Lindsey's definitely could have been better. I really love most of what Chris and Stevie did, though; Mirage is overlooked, IMO.

Much better performed live - Love in Store, I guess? I love the album version too, though.

Overall least favorite - Eyes of the World.

Yes, Mirage is really overlooked, it's one of my favorite Mac albums. I'm going to correct myself and say that i don't like Lindsey's songs, but his guitar contribution is impressive here. Straight Back, Hold Me, and Gypsy have three kick-ass solos. And not only are they awesome, but they also add some kind of magic to the songs. His guitar work is just perfect on this album.

Mirage is an interesting album for me. Stevie really delivers her A Game, and apart from one slip-up, Christine is on fire too. Lindsey shows some flashes of promise, I really love Empire State, Book of Love and Eyes Of The World, but his other songs are pretty lacklustre, and could have been swapped for stronger Stevie or Christine songs (Just my opinion!) The sequencing of the album irritates the hell outta me, as well.

Should've been a hit single - "That's Alright" (I don't care what anybody says, this version is better than the "Designs of Love" demo)

Never understood the appeal of - "Hold Me" (Sorry, I find the harmony weak. Why blend the voices in such a bland manner when all three vocalists sound so great on their own on the rest of the album? This song could be better for me if Stevie could be heard on it, & maybe if the chorus had the individual voices singing each "ho-old meee" line - sort of like a tug-of-war for affection.)

Album could have been better if - Lindsey kept the dated pop sound to a few of his songs (like "Book of Love", which I think is great) & had more finger-picking folk stuff, where he really excels. Also if the production placed greater emphasis on the vocals.

Much better performed live - "Love in Store" (never liked it until I saw the Mirage concert)

Overall least favorite - "Can't Go Back"

I love the variety of Stevie's songs & think they're all great. Overall I think Mirage is underrated.

Album could have been better if - Smile At You or If You Were My Love were included. This would knock off Straight Back, but it could have been a b-side to one of the other singles. This is one of my biggest gripes about Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey's control over the band, that he has some sort of universal authority to knock songs off because he doesn't think they fit the album. "Oh, Stevie, that song is too angry, it doesn't fit in with the others." Please, give me a break - I wonder what other Stevie gems are lost to time because of poor choices like that.

Should've been a hit single - That's Alright. I dislike the very beginning (how country it sounded) so I skipped it and just recently listened to the whole thing. I LOVE IT! Amazing! I also love Straight Back and Book of Love :D

Album could have been better if - it contained more of the heart and raw emotion we heard with Rumors and Tusk. The album just sounded like "hey lets hurry up and throw something together" which is pretty much what happened since they were working on their solo careers as well. Smile At You should have been included. Its a prime example of the heart and raw emotion I just mentioned. I also agree that Lindsey should have ditched the 50's style songs because I didn't like any of them.

Much better performed live - EOTW. I love the studio version, but the live version is even better.

Songs that everyone hates and you love- Empire State and Only Over You. Those seems to be the most despised Mac songs, but I love them both lol.
