That actually looks like a very plausible setlist to me. I cannot understand for the life of me why she's only performing ONE SONG from IYD. Especially considering it's getting her the best critical acclaim of her career.

Hearing from Stevie herself, it doesn't sound like she currently has one booked. I understand her not wanting to perform the songs before the album was released. But it's released now... she needs to be getting these songs out into the cosmos in any and every way possible.
I'm hoping the only reason she hasn't added new material to her solo setlist recently is because she is still sick, and can't do longer shows until she's better. Perhaps she's also thinking she doesn't want poor versions of her new songs floating around on youtube either.

It's kind of late in the game to book a summer tour , most show are or will be on sale , and if she waits it may do poorly .

I really don't think she's going to do a tour for this album. I think she'll do dates, but if she isn't doing the songs already now that it's been released, I don't see her actually performing them later, which is a shame. To me, it either means one of three things; 1) She doesn't have the confidence to perform the new songs. 2) She's too stubborn to play anything now except for the "hits". Or 3) Her voice can't handle singing some of the new songs for an extended period on tour.
Secret Love is a great song, don't get me wrong, but the live version is terribly boring to me.... almost the same as Every Day. I love the studio version but live, it just sounds weird and awkward.
If she doesn't end up performing anything from this album, I won't be seeing her live anymore. With the economy the way it is, I barely make my rent and bills and I refuse to pump out my hard earned bills to see Stevie belt out the same crap I've seen in about the same order for the past five to ten years. If I want to hear these songs live over and over again, that's what bootlegs are for; completely free and not a waste of money.

Agreed. It's time to hang up my Stevie concert hat. It's been a good run, but like you said, one or two new songs isn't worth it anymore. I do enjoy the time I spend with Ledgies, but as of late, I could care less about the concert.

if she's not doing any new music , ( 1 song doesn't cut it)
For what ever reason , she should be playing small or packaged show ( reo speedwagon , journey , styx 38. special . etc all do it ) and the max price 25 bucks .
It's not the Music biz in trouble , it's her career and who ever is managing it , Are the same clowns still repping Chris Isaak. I noticed he's playing in smaller places now ... WAY outside of Boston

I can see such a set list happening, too. It seems to have Stevie's balance of old and new, usually leaning towards old. Doing Moonlight and Rhiannon back-to-back is spot on and swapping out Fall From Grace for Ghosts Are Gone is an even trade.

wouldnt you say these set lists would drive people from the building? i dont think your average casino junkie would be familiar with the majority of this material. these would be great lists for intimate small venue superfan shows but every day people paying $$$ to see stevie nicks or fleetwood mac want to hear massive HITS prettymuch throughout the set.

sometimes I wonder...do people really believe that stevie blows musicial notes from her buttcheeks? music on an album takes hours upon hours, weeks upon weeks, months upon months to perfect.
In order for these songs to be performed they need to be learned and then rehearsed to semi perfection. That would include the vocalist and all members of the band. This will not be happening anytime soon, IMO. Secret Love is the single and the LIVE promotion for IYD.

 You're right about some of the songs. Wide Sargasso Sea, Italian Summer, Moonlight would probably take an age, but there are some very simple songs on the album instrumentally and vocally that would be no problem. And surely they would have rehearsed something for the launch show/party if they were actually intending to do songs from it live, so I don't see what's up...

One can have a launch party without actually performing multiple songs from an album -- it just so happens to be the concert that falls on the date the album launches -- and there is always Secret Love. Let us not forget the Listening Party in which songs were played directly from the studio album.

I've already made my peace with this. In the old days it would kill me to skip a tour. I'm through begging & waiting & spending all my $ just to see her schlep out the same stuff I saw last time around. I won't even complain that she skipped all of TX in 2011 if it's going to be the same old set anyway.

I'm really confused over people's concearns and dissapointments over the set list. I mean the set lists from the past 2 nights are absolutely infuriating for sure, but "Under normal circumstances" that is. I feel like you all are having extreme short term memory loss. Stevie has been VERY sick and is still somewhat sick. The only valid criticism anyone should have is that she decided to play at all in less that top form. But I guess she was just sick of cancelling.
Shes playing only 11 songs and is the only performer. Thats clearly WAY less then she would normally perform. You people are acting like she has no desire to play any In Your Dreams songs in her set. She hasn't had time to rehearse on the count of the pneumonia, so she basically just copied and pasted her opening act set.
Again I'm not saying people shouldnt be upset with this set list. It's an absolute abomination considering it's 2 weeks after her greatest album ever being released, but you really need to look at the whole overall context of the situation. Saying I'm hanging up my Stevie concert hat based on the past 2 shows is crazy.

Well, since the album has been completed since December, I don't buy the whole "no time to practice" bull. January-beginning of March is ample amount of time, don't you think? I am sure is going to perform new songs on upcoming shows, but it's just her whole attitude towards the situation is bothering me. From the interviews, I feel like she is slapping us fans in the face with her comments on touring and album sells. It's disappointing.

Why do people still want Sorcerer in the list - Worst song she has ever sung. Period.
krrrby
05-17-2011, 08:20 AM
I think a lot of these set lists are very unrealistic - Stevie's response would probably be "in your dreams."
We all know she'll keep Sorcerer in the list...since she likes "3" she'll probably put moonlight, rhiannon, and sorcerer next to each other in the setlist to be part of a theme. Now that would be cool.
So here's what I think it would look like...

We all know Stevie rehearses to within an inch of her life. We all know Stevie has been battling pneumonia of late. We also know she toured with Rod Stewart earlier this year (BIG ****ING MISTAKE!).
She should have used the time she wasted going on the road with Rod Stewart to rehearse a set list for an In Your Dreams tour that includes several of the new songs.
To those of you who flame "Fall From Grace", hate to break it to you, but there are also plenty of fans who do love the song and who would be epically pissed if that song were taken out of the set list. And "Sorcerer" as the worst song Stevie's ever sung? Really? "Destiny", "Docklands", "Silver Hurl", uh, I mean "Silver Girl", "When I See You Again", "The Second Time", "Every Day", "Jane" and "Cheaper Than Free" are all AWFUL, and that's just off the top of my head.
What Stevie should have been saying is, "I'm going to go on the road to promote this record, and I'm going to sing several of the new songs. If you're coming to hear the hits, you'll hear some of them, but if you don't want to hear new material, you'll all get over it. I've got a record to support.
"There'll be plenty of time to hear me do the same sets over and over again the next time I tour. Right now, you're going to hear a lot of In Your Dreams, so get used to it!"

I just can't see her doing Italian Summer live, would her band even be able to play it? I'd doubt she'd be able to hold that final note live, either.
If I were to be a pessimist, I'd say we'd see her Heart and Soul setlist, with Fall From Grace subbed out for Ghosts Are Gone, Secret Love staying in, and Everybody Loves You + Cheaper Than Free played with Dave Stewart. I'd love nothing more than to be proven wrong, though

There should a fresher, more inspired opener. The Outside the Rain/Dreams is so typical and stale. If Dreams has to be included, put it later in the set, then it would feel a little less stale. I do give her props for changing up the openers on rare instances: Stand Back, Fall From Grace, etc... Performing Dreams as the second song in a set list just sucks up the energy built up from the opener.

It's so hard to predict what Stevie will or will not perform...while some suprises would be nicem, I don't expect any. She'll probably start the tour with new material and gradually phase it out or replace the new stuff with old as she has sometimes done on previous tours.
That said, if she tours and doesn't included For What It's Worth and You May Be The One and In Your Dreams - I'll be admittedly very disappointed.

Why all the "Sorcerer" hate? :(
I think it's one of the most magical songs she's done. It's simple and to the point. I love the studio version and agree that the live version is lacking in A LOT of areas (most notably the falsetto) but I still never get tired of rocking out to it at her concerts! :)

you and me both...lol but it would be interesting to what she puts out since she did the show with rod in March into April she really didn't rehearse I am sure for this tour if there is one I hope there will be maybe next summer if not this year. It just seems that she is not going to tour here in U.S. on this album other than this show and a few west coast casino shows.
I wished they rehearsed and planned out the set list and staging design and do this tour right if she does one its such a great album would love to see a killer tour set list and Stevie will be on fire and feel like someone gave her about 10 vitamin B shots..Mama will be rockin all over the world.

Why all the "Sorcerer" hate? :(
I think it's one of the most magical songs she's done. It's simple and to the point. I love the studio version and agree that the live version is lacking in A LOT of areas (most notably the falsetto) but I still never get tired of rocking out to it at her concerts! :)
I don't understand that either about Sorcerer I love it on record and love it live.

I adore Stevie and have seen her multiple times, BUT....I think it is time to put "Fall From Grace" and "Sorcerer" to rest.... These are the songs that people usually get up to go get a drink or use the restroom, even though they are ok songs. I think it would be nice if she did "Everyday" or "Planets" again.
But something tells me the setlist will go like this....
1. Stand Back
2. Secret Love
3. Outside The Rain
4. Dreams
5. Sorcerer
6. Gold Dust Woman
7. In Your Dreams
8. Rhiannon
9. Landslide
10. Moonlight
11. How Still My Love
12. Edge Of Seventeen
------------------
13. Rock And Roll
14. Love Is

Tomorrow night she better do one or more of the following:
You May Be the One
Wide Sargasso Sea
Moonlight
Annabell Lee
Or else I would demand a refund . I mean I'll be excited if she does anything from IYD in addition to Secret Love but this is what would tickle my fancy. I'm sure we'll hear Cheaper Than Free, blah.

I do like the live arrangement too. Especially when the music stops and they are kind of chanting acapella. I think it's a great song recorded and that it transfers very well to the stage.

Agreed, but after seeing it 8+ times, it gets old.

Sorry but the last great setlist was the Enchanted tour....Stevie relies too much on the same songs...Can't she replace Gold Dust Woman with Sister of the Moon or Talk to Me. Replace "Outside the Rain" or "If Anyone Falls with Angel or Blue Denim... I understand why she has to do Stand Back and Dreams and Landslide but other than those three the rest of the set list should be up for grabs...Stevie plays it safe... My concert going days are over to if she doesn't change it up...

The Enchanted set list was filled with stuff from her current box set, thats why it was a good set. In 2004 if I were to make a wish list of Stevie songs I wanted to be done live, How Still My Love would've been in the top 3. I'm glad she added that to the set in 05 instead of Talk To Me. Talk To Me wouldn't be an impressive addition to her set to me. It was a top 4 hit what's daring about her doing that. Actually I think she's done Talk To Me in more sets then If Anyone Falls.
The only thing I guess she can be faulted with is maybe filling openings in her sets with covers (Soundstage could've included so much more if there was no Crash or Circle Dance) but I just say Oh Well if its what she wants to play let her play them. Other artists are applauded by putting covers in their sets, Not Stevie. Let her play what she enjoys playing. She does switch it up just not in a way that always makes every one of us happy.
And h0w could you not include Edge of 17 in the list of songs that aren't up for grabs. Id add Edge and remove Landslidde. It wwasn't a solo set list standard until halfway through the gold dust tour. So Stand Back, Edge, Dreams and really she sort of has to do GDW and Rhiannon. And as much as Id love to see SOTM in the set, I think she could wait til the next time fleetwood Mac goes on the road for that one. I love Waaddy and love what he doesn on GDW and Rhiannon but I just don't feel him doing SOTM.

I guess my thoughts of edge of seventeen nowadays is, she seems to be going through the motions...the great days of Stevie going abit crazy during the Edge is over...thats why i liked the Rock & Roll addition to her set...i've actually enjoyed her cover tunes...

Sorry but the last great setlist was the Enchanted tour
Sorry and I beg your pardon...
The 2001 TISL tour featured six new songs, 3 album tracks representing Bella, WH and Rock a Little, 6 iconic radio hits and one very short cover song.
It's hard to balance set lists for the fan who has seen 90 shows, first timers, casual fans, guests unfamiliar. And their are equally rapid fans who want Edge & Rhiannon as much as the other fans who don't want to hear any hits. But, it's fair to assume th obscure track cultists are outnumbered by ticket holders who expect to hear the hits that resulted in her fame and their fandom.
Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
Enchanted
Outside the Rain
Dreams
Gold Dust Woman
Sorcerer
Everyday
Rhiannon
Stand Back
Planets of the Universe
Too Far From Texas
Bombay Sapphires
Fall From Grace
Edge of Seventeen
