View Full Version : Ok I know this is really kind of a stupid question but...

well I was just wondering, does anybody have ANY idea on how one could get a backstage pass to meet Stevie? I told you it was a stupid question:laugh:heres the thing, this is about to become a sob story so feel free to leave if you don't want to read it :)...Im 45 years old and FM was the very first band that I liked on my own while listening to the radio when I was 12 years old..I knew and listened to other music but it was my mom's music..not my own...my parents split up about that time and it was unheard of in my middle class suburbia life for parents to split up so I felt really all alone and being able to play my FM really helped...I ended up being put in a boarding school my jr/sr year of high school and the school itself was very sexist...boys could do anything or go anywhere but girls had to go to dorms right after school and we werent allowed out except for designated free time...if it hadnt been for being able to escape with my music, especially FM, I dont think I would have made it and Im not exxagerating that one!! After graduation I got involved with people who werent going to amount to much in life and I got involved with my ex husband and got pregnant...we had no money and things were just going downhill but thank god for MTV so I could see Stevie and back then you knew when she was coming on because they pretty much told you what time they would repeat the videos:laugh: well my relationship with my husband only lasted about 5 yrs and from the time my daughter was 3 I have raised her alone...I went back to school and got a job and took care of her...and like most parents, I gave her everything and barely gave myself anything...I made sure though that I got every Stevie and FM album though  ..so I never got to go to any of FM or Stevie concerts EVER!!! Now my daughter is grown and about to leave on her own but my current situation is that I am not financially able to be able to go to different concerts like I would be if I still was able to work...I had some surgery on my hands a few years back and they didnt take right and I got put on disability and recently found out I had kidney disease...when the wiltern show got announced, I flipped out because I am only a few hours away from LA and my brother, who knows how much I love Stevie, bought me tickets...I cant stand on the floor for that long so he had to get me balcony seats...This may be the one and only time I get to see her and if I could even get a chance to talk to her for a minute, then I would be estatic for the rest of my life..As it stands, I will never forget this and will cherish the fact that I got to go..so if anybody has any ideas of what I can try and do to meet her then they would be my rockstar

Sometimes local radio stations get "meet & greet" backstage passes. Since this Wiltern show is actually Stevie's birthday, with extra friends and family there, chances are slimmer. (LA and New York City are usually more difficult spots to get actual meet & greets) Not impossible, but tougher.

It's really just luck, mystical1... although I have never met Stevie myself only John and Lindsey. Stevie seems to be the "hardest to get to" of all the Fleetwood members.

I can be of absolutely no help with this, Lynn, but I hope it can happen for you.

Ahhh, Lynn, now tell me your daughters name is Gypsy Sara Rhiannon and I will officially start crying....
I'd love to meet Stevie also but I'd totally give up my chance for someone who had such a meaning full story behind reasons for meeting her. I have to say my obsession with Stevie became unhealthy at times...like the "oh, well if Stevie did a whole bunch of cocaine and she's okay now, well then I can also...and hell, I might as well try klonopin" season of my life. These days it's better, I went to rehab but it was no Betty Ford Center -(it was much too expensive). Now a days I stick to wearing scarves and flowy hippie stuff.
Anyways, back to the meeting Stevie thing....I'd love to meet her by chance - like run into her shopping - but I REFUSE to pay a bunch of money to see her. I mean, how much will it really matter to her? Meeting her will be like a cocaine high...won't last long. Maybe that's how I trick myself into believing I don't want to meet her...cause Lord knows I already planned what I will say to Stevie if I ever met her. Speaking of, I think I will start a thread about what people would say to Stevie if they ever met her!
I wish you the very best Lynn, and I hope you get a chance to meet her, I really really do. Oh and did you consider trying to get handicap accessible seats for the concert? If you can't stand for long periods of time and maybe walking distances isn't so great either, then maybe you should find out if their are seats available maybe even discounted for individuals with health concerns (I totally hope that didn't sound all politically incorrect - I am only trying to help, promise!)
Just an idear.

Write her a letter, include a photo of you and your daughter. She reads her fan mail. She may not get it in time though. I have gotten backstage and not gotten to meet her. She was busy with an MTV interview. She is definitely tough to get to. Be persistent. Get to the show early, talk to her musicians if you can. It was Sharon who offered me the pass, she is a doll. But she explicitly said that she cannot promise anyone can meet Stevie because she's gotten in big trouble doing that in the past. I good friend of mine met Stevie by chance at a restaurant in Boston and Stevie was very gracious. She will take the time when she has it.

First you have to know who they are. Then when you see them just say hi and talk to them! Al Ortiz and Jimmy Paxon are on Facebook and sometimes post where they are before and after shows while on tour. I wouldn't ask for a pass until you've developed a rapport. Or don't even ask for one. I didn't ask Sharon, she offered. Sorry I didn't check in to post sooner.

I have tried got no where is but you can probably try calling her publists Liz Rosenberg but have called her office and they tell me oh Stevie is not doing an meet and greets on the unleashed tour her and the mac were playin on March 14,2009 I called about a month before figuring i asked about how about going or who to talk or find out thru her management too or record label. there has to be a way its been a while since I have heard a meet and greet give away on the radio to meet her last one I heard of was back in 1998 on the opening night of her Enchanted tour here in Hartford,CT. I was lucky to be able to go and meet Stevie at the barnes and noble Live In Chicago dvd/cd signing on March 31,2009 in Union Square NYC she was incredible to have met and to have spoke to her and hold her hand she was just prize less it was a small moment in time but it meant the world to me if that was my only time to have met her I was lucky to have had that moment. If you do get to meet her you will cherish that moment I tell you and she is so down to earth to meet too truely an amazing aura around her that just lights up the universe really.
