Ha! I love the romance quote. Like...eh...been there, done that (a lot)...for now.
Nice interview. A little rewriting of history re: Fritz and "firing" "their" band, but...whatever.
And, my tummy twisted a bit when she said Borgata. Sob.

Especially since just the other day Lindsey said Stevie wanted them to be a duo, so he had to learn to write songs..
Stevie's gloves are kind of pretty but at the same time kind of creep me out.
Great interview. It gave me chills listening to them talk about IYD being her best solo work and it getting a lot of positive reviews. The more I listen to the album, the more I'm agreeing with those sentiments. Loved her acapella, AND she looks SUPAH!
Thanks for posting Viv.

I guess we now know for sure that she did those "46 interviews in 2 days' Every interview I've seen with her lately has her in front of that fireplace in those clothes with those gloves. Like they were all lined up outside the door, and then, Next!

I'd give anything to see Fleetwood Mac in one of those press junkets. Just see them sit there and answer questions, as media people go in and out would be totally fascinating.
I have video of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson doing it for their last movie. I don't think I can even hear the interviewer's questions really. You just see them answering most of the time. They are sitting in chairs for hours I guess and just answering and it's some of the best stuff I've ever had of them.

I'll second that. I'll bet she has the funniest sense of humor also. I could just see her cracking people up. :D

Thank you very much for posting that. I really appreciate when people put things here that I seem to always miss otherwise.
Great interview and so down to earth. I love that about her. So when she talked about how she doesn't have a boyfriend because she travels, I couldn't help but shake my head and think about how many famous people have spouses that go along or stay at home. It may not be that simple for famous women. At one point Stevie and Sheryl talked about that publicly. But yea, I'm watching and listening and thinking, she KNOWS she could have a boyfriend if she really wanted to. I know what it's like to be in that frame because I've been there for 5 years. So when she started talking about being open to romance and all that... well, that's more like it. Maybe we both need some Love Potion #9. :D

Pretty sure it was filmed in the last few days of April, or the first one or two of May. I know it was right before the album came out.

It was tweeted from the ASCAP expo.

"I don't think of myself as a writer, I only started because Stevie wanted to be a duo. I did it begrudgingly" - the actual quote.

Wasn't that at the ASCAP expo when he was interviewed by Sara Bareilles? I was following elle on twitter, she found and retweeted alot of quotes from people who were attending (thanks elle!) and I believe that was one, but other than that, has anybody seen or been able to read a transcript of the whole thing?

you're very welcome! i copied all the tweets to the ASCAP thread on LB board once the interview was over- see the link wildhearted posted above. actual interview is not available, apparently ASCAP will make the webcast available for purchase along with other panels from that expo some time in may (maybe they already did?).

That was really cool. I love it that the interviewers are asking her what it feels like to have made such a great (even "historically great" :) ) album.
More and more reviews like this make the Slant one look very much like some kind of weird personal vendetta.

I'm guessing not. There are going to be many hundreds of hours worth of footage to be edited down to make this into a watchable documentary. That'll take months. Then Warner Bros will d*ck around with how the want to package/sell it, when to release it, blah blah blah and next thing you know, In Your Dreams has fallen from the charts, the tour to support it is over, and nobody will care anymore. :distress:
I am actually counting on Warner Bros NOT releasing the doc. It doesn't look like In Your Dreams is going to be a runaway success, so why would they want to spend the time and money marketing this documentary, which will likely sell very few copies? :(

Isn't it already her most critically successful album? If you mean sales-wise, surely it's still early days? And we don't know where WB set the definition of success, either. I agree, though, that the audience for a cinema release would be - ahem - of niche proportions. I just hope it does see the light of day in some way, shape or form.
It really was amazingly bad luck that she got sick right around the launch day.

To be fair to her, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of madness, and if there's one thing the record shows with blinding clarity it's that no, she can't be an artist and have a long-term, happy relationship.
Of course, her habitual narcissism and hyperbole mean that she constantly couches statements about herself as if they were universal truths. And I suspect this is indicative of how she actually thinks, too. She seems to construct all kinds of rules that relate to what she can and can't do, based on how she imagines people would react - but really, she's a little afraid to test the boundaries, lest it turn out that everyone is really OK with her doing what she wants, and then she has to - deep breath - take full responsibility for her (in)actions.
I sympathise, though. Because I think most people live most of their life kidding themselves that they're far less free than they are (freedom being scary, etc.).

i think you just nailed it! from all her lyrics to the countless interviews she constructs her own reality..she's alone because she only sees herself in those terms...it doesnt matter what the truth is...she has created her own mirror and so the reflection is already defined...

Very nicely said and it puts me in mind of the promotional photo for IYD, with her looking in the mirror.

Speaking of the doc, Louie mentioned WB is going to d*ck around, which they might but what about Weapons of Mass Entertainment, or whatever it is called that Dave Stewart is associated with. Isn't it his company? So would WB have much to do with the doc?

The release of the documentary can definitely be released outside of her record label similar to the way Destiny Rules was released and had no association what so ever with Fleetwood Mac's label - Reprise. It even says on the back of DR that Fleetwood Mac appear courtesy of Warner/Reprise.
So yeah... Dave and Stevie could release this themselves through a separate deal with another video distributor... or Dave himself if he can handle it.
