Hey everybody one of my best friends, Julian, lost his father today... he died unexpectedly from heart failure. He's having a real hard time understandably and to make things worse... his mother was given less than a year to live (cancer) a few months back. Please remember him in your thoughts and prayers.

I'll definitely keep him in my thoughts. I can't imagine going through a blow like that while waiting on another one around the corner :(

I'm not a prayer person, but your friend is in my thoughts and I'll meditate in his honour tonight. Despite my relationship with my parents being strained at best, I couldn't imagine losing them.

Thank you guys! I saw him today and he was a complete wreck... he couldn't even talk. :( I just hugged him, left some food that my wife and I made for him so he wouldnt have to cook for the next couple of days and I burned a CD of songs for him. My spirit really was just crushed for him knowing what he's going through. :distress:

Prayers go to him.

I almost lost my dad last october during his heart surgery which ended up being about a month before my mom ended up passing away from brain cancer... so although I dont know exactly what he is going through I came way too close to that.

Getting the call from the surgeon that he might not make it, while I was sitting in the hospital with my dying mom was the closest I ever came to losing it totally, but thank God he came through.

On a side note, my dad had to have ANOTHER heart surgery two weeks ago to repair the repair but we just brought him home on Saturday and he is doing well.

I did not mean to hijack this, but my heart really goes out to your friend, B.

just wanted to say that i will be thinking about your friend. i hope that he will be ok. its good that he has a friend like you to help him through this rough time.
one of my good friends lost both of her parents to cancer when she was in her early 20's. i will never forget her calling in the middle of the night to tell me about it. i felt so bad for her. she ended up getting married and having kids and i just feel awful about the fact that her parents never got to see any of that happen.
anyway keep us updated on your friend and tell him to take care!

I'm sorry for your friend's loss. I will be praying for him. You are a good friend to him. Just being there and helping him with his self-care is perfect.

Each of my parents has had life threatening illnesses and I dread the day I lose either one of them. My grandfather passed away a few months ago and even though he was 80 and had a full life my mom has had a very hard time with it. It's never easy but there is at least some consolation when they die in old age. I find if you don't think of them as "gone" but always with you in your heart and thoughts that is tremendously comforting.

I really feel for your friend's mom, she really needed her husband right now. I will pray for her as well.
