No. I don't think it's really finished yet. I'm guessing it'll be several months down the road, just like it took several months for the Destiny Rules documentary to surface after Say You Will was released.

Thanks! Because everyone stopped talking about it in these last few final weeks. I was wondering if something was up? I really want to see it too!

Personally I'm glad this will take awhile to come out. This way it spreads the wealth time wise. We have plenty to enjoy the next couple months. This Documentary will be awseome a year from now, when lets just guess the band is starting a 3 year process to record an album

That really wouldn't surprise me. After all, they used the first show of the Say You Will Tour on the Destiny Rules documentary. Not to mention apparently there were going to be quite a few celeb guests at the show, including Sheryl Crow, Dave Stewart, and who knows else.
It seems like Dave Stewart has said principal photography is finished for the documentary... but it'll take months to edit it into something useable. I can only imagine how many hundreds of hours of film they shot.

I wonder if they will randomly shoot video from these next set of shows coming up to makeup the loss of the Webster show.Thats if Stevie is feeling better.

No I think they will still film webster if it's rescheduled - but really I hope the documentary gets put off for about 6-7 months because by then the album will probably windle down news wise - and the documentary will help resurface Stevie's presence and album sales.

My guess is at this point in time Warner/Reprise is promoting a new album by Stevie slightly better than they were promoting a new album by Fleetwood Mac in say 1971 -1974. They expect her to sell the faithful fanbase and little else.Let's hope it is enough for her to keep a contract.I do think that we will see the DVD a in few months ..maybe less.

Well, we know they filmed the Wiltern show for use on the documentary, so that means they're still creating & editing. I believe someone told Dani when they filmed her for the doc that it'd be done in a few months. The earliest I'd expect to see it being sold retail would be around Christmas time, though. I guess we'll see.

I agree with this. WBR probably knows that even if they release a new single (as good as we think it may be) it has little chance of igniting on radio & getting any real attention. The radio formats Stevie is left having any chance on these days (Triple A & AC) move very slowly, and play a lot of older songs. The best opportunity for a "hit" single was with the 1st release, of which one it should've/could've been can be debated on here for months. The only other route I'm surprised they haven't taken yet to get IYD more exposure is release a remix of one of the tracks to Dance clubs. The only other promotion is if Stevie hits the road & some more TV appearances. But she should have done this throughout May while IYD was high on the charts (Her illness no doubt cost Stevie visibility & 10-20K of missed-out sales:distress:)
The IYD documentary is just icing and could possibly be a documentary for sale to cable and then hopefully for commercial release, or maybe they will repackage IYD for release with the DVD around the holidays:shrug: Didn't Dave tweet someone that we should see the doc @ 3 months from now ballpark in some format?

I basically talked about what being a chiffonhead meant, how much her fans worship her, my favorite song, etc. There were actually 2 camera crews there, one for the documentary and one for E!
For the E! one they asked me to get people riled up and sing a few songs. I pray the footage of my singing never sees the light of day!

Yup, Lindsay and Dani are pretty much definitely in.
I remember standing next to Ed and laughing our @sses off watching the first taping of Lindsay and Dani together, bouncing off of each other in an explosion of chiffon. Especially Lindsay! Just wait until you see, guys;) It'll be pretty over the top, methinks.
I was filmed too (a bunch of us were), but knew from the moment I started that I wouldn't make it in. And that's really for the best--I don't really want to see myself in chiffonhead mode, and by 5PM that day (14 hours of waiting!) I couldn't even form complete sentences.;)

There are good points about their promotion and bad points. I'm sure Stevie choose the lead single. I have heard it many times before that people with clout and longetivity get to choose. Pretty much only the artists that have crappy contracts are slaves to the record company. The reason is the artists also picks up some of the bills for the video and stuff and its their album. I think Secret Love was a mistake. Warners pushed the song, but not the video. I think the reason was they realized no one was going to play.
Warners could not afford to spend the money on a commercial during Glee. I'm sure that would of cost a mini fortune. They did however give Stevie a great site for her music and got her to put her own video channel up. They don't have an easy artist to work with.
Stevie was on Dancing with the Stars, got FM music on Glee and did a bunch of articles.
Now the wait. What is the second single? Will this be the real single we are waiting for. Is there a chance she get a better response. I do think a lot of singles from this album are very marketable.
Why aren't these songs on country radio by now? I can't figure that one out yet.

I went up to to front of the line where you guys were when I saw the cameras, and watched some of it being filmed. Then I thought, Do I want to volunteer to speak to the camera??....Nah. I chickened out - it was exciting though.
The camera crew actually worked there way down the line and interviewed a guy we were in line with that had a black t-shirt on that said, "Mr. Stevie Nicks" on the front. His name was Jose- very nice dude. Anyway, if he's makes it into the documentary I'll be in the background. My girlfriend also pointed out that she saw cameras on stage off to the left that were shooting the audience - that would be where we'de be in it too. :D I really hope this documentary makes it to fruition soon.

I would think they would try to release this to coincide with the tour? So August 9th or so? Does anyone know if this is going to be released by Warner Bros. or by Weapons of Mass Entertainment? If it is WB, then we shouldn't try to put any logical plan to our assumptions.

Your last sentence is what we all need to go by. WB is going to be the deadbeat parent to release this DVD, even if Weapons Of Mass Entertainment (Dave Stewart's company) was the one who created & produced it. We all know how In Your Dreams itself was finished 5 months before it was released. We have no one other to thank for that delay than WB. WB will dilly dally around and release the documentary at an absolutely odd & non-sensical time, mark my words. They did the same thing with Destiny Rules nearly a decade ago.

Dave Stewart tweeted June, 2011 as its release. After that delay he tweeted that "they" are editing it and it will be ready any day now. We've basicly given up that it will ever see the light of day. Originally he tweeted that it would be shown as a movie in every city the IYD tour would play about 1 week before each concert and he was gonna be performing with her at each show. He seemed just as shocked as we were when we found out she joined the Heart & Soul Tour.

We were posting at the same time. :)
I remember those tweets, but I remember them a little differently. If I recall correctly (and perhaps I don't), Dave said that's what they were shooting for/planning for. It wasn't written in stone.
I've been a fan too long to put stock in any release date, until it's stated in a press release. And sometimes not even then!

The last I heard they were still working on it. They missed a huge opportunity by not having it ready for the tour, but perhaps it will be out before the Australian tour. Knowing WB tho, they will probably hold it off until she is out with Fleetwood Mac again like they did with The Soundstage Sessions.

I just saw, for the first time, the video of the latest single. What I found amazing was that the story, the setting, the entire production design were all so far removed from Stevie's past & probably even her comfort zone. I thought that a good thing.
I also wondered what other fans thought about it. I think back to everyone's finding the "Docklands" mention of laundromat an unbecoming turnoff, so now I wonder how you guys react to shots of garbage by the side of a desert road, two scruffy stray dogs, etc. Do you consider that equally un-Stevielike?

Last I heard it was 80% finished a month ago. As soon as Stevie US concert commitments are completed after labor day weekend, I would suspect outside any few promotion performances or appearances Stevie may have, that she will finally have some time to focus on any final edits & give her approval so the doc could be completed in the Sept-Oct timeframe. Now how it will be distributed is another story. They also may be waiting to pepper the doc with concert footage they have accumulated from Wiltern through now and tweak that in the studio a bit. I don't see how they can wait on the doc much longer!? Though come to think of it the Destiny Rules documentary was released on DVD almost a full year (March 2004) after SYW (April 2003)

I've mentioned this before but would they ever release the documentary with the cd in a package that includes a new song or two or live versions of a few of the songs - and release it the same time as Grammy ballots are going out??? It's not unusual for a record company to send out specific packets to Grammy voters. Just a thought

"Stewart is also in the midst of finishing work on a film he made in conjunction with "The Blackbird Diaries" -- not a formal documentary but a feature film that he describes as "kind of a trip inside my head as a songwriter and how I function creatively. It's slightly strange, slightly surreal and impressionistic" and will feature appearances by Stone and Diane Birch. Stewart says he's also working on films about his projects with Nicks, Stone and SuperHeavy, and he's having conversations with independent film distributors and theaters about how to bring them out.
"I'd like it to be a special evening or something, like 'Dave Stewart presents...' " he says. "Maybe there's one every month or something, one every two weeks every Monday night. We're looking at a lot of possibilities for that, which is exciting.""

Maybe he's just trying to do too many things all at once.

[QUOTE=Christopher;1011535]Last I heard it was 80% finished a month ago. Though come to think of it the Destiny Rules documentary was released on DVD almost a full year (March 2004) after SYW (April 2003
I've mentioned this before but would they ever release the documentary with the cd in a package that includes a new song or two or live versions of a few of the songs - and release it the same time as Grammy ballots are going out??? It's not unusual for a record company to send out specific packets to Grammy voters.
Just a thought
When would they have to release it to impress grammy voters? I hope it is soon:blob2:

Naw. They (Dave & Weapons of Mass Entertainment & possibly Reprise) are just trying to figure how to best market & capitalize on the project. They'd better act quick, hopefully a cable network will pick it up (purchase it) and then they'll release it on DVD or repackage it with In Your Dreams CD with an extra bonus track (besides "My Heart") That would be the wise move, since die-hards are the most reliable demographic to market this doc to.

I agree with what Christopher just said. However, it's ridiculous that this has taken so dang long. I mean, come ON already!!
I'm thinking that quote came from a song in a classic Disney movie. I'm thinking along the lines of Alice in Wonderland or Peter Pan... Hard to say though. Without fail, my Mom would buy me the record soundtrack of each Disney movie after we'de go see it. I'd play those things over and over again. So if it is from a Disney movie, that would explain why that phrase sounds so familiar to me. :p

Back in '03 when Fleetwood Mac released Say You Will, it was over a year after that Destiny Rules was release, June '04. So we could be waiting awhile.
Reprise should put some sort of package together and sell it online ahead of the Christmas buying season.

Twelth of Never is a popular, almost classic song. It's been covered by dozens of people, including Tammy Wynette, Glen Campbell, Johnny Mathis, Roger Miller. The list goes on and on.

I think a Big to do around Christmas will be the best time for obvious reasons. I also feel that Stevie kicked in some of her own cash for the extra special stuff...re the whole documentary plus videos of songs playing out...like a video album...I think there will be live footage of IYD concert...with some gauzing...
I think, with the new generation of fans their...friends, parents...whomever, will get this for them becasue they had the album and are still walking around singing, "STRANGE" while lifting their arm, palm upwards...or quoting from nowhere, "even though they were so in love, they drew a line in the sand...just becasue...fake tambourine playing (trust me, it looks like a seizure or one that is a bit *touched*...or have been spinning around in front of a golden, antiqueish mirror in legwarmers, a leotard and a linen white and pink dress...until their parents or friends shreik....STOP, JUST STOP IT....BOBBY!
I'll bet they are done with all the doc, video stuff...I think it finishing touches on the live shows, which if that many people are working on the project...just in time.
Unless, the inevidible happens...I always picture Steve, dog in lap, Tiffany Lamp to Right, Fire Place to the left...and a noblemen's butler brings her the finished product on a velvet pillow...and in a short listen she growls...I'm fat in that shot, hair is wrong in that shot, rip...tear...pillage...smash...and finally it goes flying over her sholder...
BUT....OH NO! Shattering The BLUE LAMP!
..............to be continued......:]

Wow...interesting interview...his tone screams that Stevie enjoyed the Dave Stewart experience and she will not move forward with the next FM project unless lindsey agrees with her approach to the next cd...
at this point in her career Stevie doesnt have to put up with Lindseys crap (by crap, I mean, long production time, over producing, and over indulgence in certain aspects of record making..i.e. red rover, morrow turning in his grave, family man, and on and on and on) this next FM encounter will be very interesting....I think that Stevie will be the BOSS this time around, unlike Say You Will

I agree. It's completely obvious that Stevie hold all the cards/power in FM currently (quite an ironic twist of fate). Stevie was the one that put the kibosh on the 2010 FM outing/tour and wisely opted instead to make a solo record (Kudo's to her on that decision!!~ :xoxo:)
I strongly suspect if she does not get pretty close to 100% of what she wants next go around re: tour and more importantly in the studio, FM will cease to exist. She does not need/want the drama anymore, she is sufficiently solvent and can go in many directions (write that long awaited book, another solo project, keep on touring next spring w/ another Rod Stewart type outing or preferably by herself in smaller venues etc.) if a FM project/tour does not happen. It's just so obvious that she is so much happier on her last few solo tours 05', 07' through 2011 than the SYW or Unleashed tours - It's night and day! It will be interesting what unfurls next year, anything is possible at this point.

I agree....Even tho it may not sound appealing to Stevie after all this touring I really wish she would grab a handful of demos and go right back in the studio w/ Dave (and not fleetwood mac)...follow up IYD with another solo project....If the cd is of the same quality of IYD I think it would seal her legacy and then spend the rest of her days playing with FM or with Lindsey or writing a book, etc. My fear is that we will see FM waste another three years in the studio on an over-produced album and then another greatest hits tour...

Thing is, I suspect that Stevie's been in this position since 1997, (since didn't WB say that they weren't interested in a Fleetwood Mac without Stevie Nicks?) but she's only just realised it after working with Dave. However, I don't think she'd use it to hold the band to ransom or anything, as I think she feels an incredible sense of loyalty to Mick and John, but it will give her more say-so this time than I suspect she had in SYW.
If they released the IYD Documentary whilst she's touring/recording/whatever with Fleetwood Mac, it would just further cement in the minds of casual fans that Fleetwood Mac is, essentially, The Stevie Nicks Show; especially if she promotes it more aggressively than whatever the band is pushing at the time.

When I first heard IYD in its entirety, I passed some songs after a quick sample listen and I heard my favorites which I put on a playlist order on my phone. The other songs grew on me except for 1 or 2 and they are at the end of my sequencing.
I have to say this...I don't know why I listened to the title track In Your Dreams...it just wasn't something catchy as far as melody at first...
Then...
"...are all those tears necessary...and all that pain that you carry...you just send those tears away...come in out of the darkness...its a beautiful day..."
I got kind of teary.... I know its not a melancholy song but every sadness and fear I have all smashed me hard....
my grandmother that practically raised me died in my arms recently...
my sister died in my arms...
my mum has been sick with a mystery illness and they found a probably benign spot on her liver...probably.
Then...every heartache and the highlights of joy in my life...I always turned to Stevie...cranked up to the top...and her sad, sad songs made me feel better.
Sanctuary was playing on repeat while Tom and I followed the ambulance to the hospital after my grandmother passed...I still play it...but its not sad...it brings happy memories. Its Nana's song.
I sang softly into my nieces ear when she was born...Silver Springs...
and then the same for my nephew...Beautiful Child...
To get to the point...
I was really afraid at first that this is Stevie Swan Song of sorts...
And there will be no more turning to a song for any event...happy or sad.
She's a Senior Citizen. She is my mums age. One day the music will stop...and Im just selfish for more...even though I have a wealth of her works..
I was just afraid for a bit...That this was it.. from that one happy lyric.
Now, I just sink into her music...and I will always have it for every event...till I die.
Then...I hope the choir of angels will play my favorites...Stevie/Mac songs...after I am gone.

Penguin...that is kind of my point..."an outside producer would temper that" Lindsey has not been known as a compromiser in the production of fleetwood mac.....forgive me but it reminds me of the behind-the-scene story of the making of Gone With the Wind...The director was known as a man who was sensitive and coddled Vivian Lee and the other women of the cast...The big star Clark Gable didnt like it at all...he was the star...The making of the movie was difficult and the power struggle was endless...my hunch is Lindsey would fight with ANYONE who pampered Stevie in the studio and God forbid that Dave try to put a shape to some of Lindsey's "master pieces"

I don't agree. I think there's a lot of complaining about something that we could have easily not had at all.
Maybe the reason why we've seen four videos from IYD is because Dave's willing to do them and can do them reasonably well and for a decent cost. More than likely WB isn't paying for these, so they're coming out of Stevie's budget. I'm happier to see four videos, none of which is actually bad in spite of what armchair coaching Ledgies might think, than 1 or none at all.

I am sooooo happy with Dave's production of this cd - I am so happy with Dave's passion for this cd - I am so happy that Dave created an atmosphere where Stevie felt comfortable enough to shoot a documentary - I am so happy that Dave created an vibe in the studio where Stevie loves making great music again but the production value of the video for Moonlight is just bad...as someone else had said...he put everything but the kitchen sink in that video and the song could have made such a beautiful video - I am a HUGE Dave Stewart fan but the Moonlight video missed the mark..

If we're being honest, I really see this as the "reinvention" of Stevie Nicks. Even though her reinvention is really just her getting back to her roots.
I feel like there is so much going on with this album- for the fans, at least, if no one else.
Her music videos are great, compared to the lackluster sorcerer video (I will say Everyday was a great video.) However, honestly, the girl looks better than she did in the TISL videos anyway. Compare the way she looks in the FWIW or Moonlight video to Sorcerer again. Her face looks thinner, she looks happier. Idk, maybe it's just me.
I feel like TISL Stevie was running on the trails of The Dance, whereas IYD Stevie is a full on reinvention of the Rumours day.

Thank you!!! I totally agree. I loved the Everyday video. It was stunningly beautiful. But Stevie has said what a grueling shoot it was. I mean, having a 50 something year old woman standing on slippery wet rocks for several hours. And I could be wrong but didn't she say she hated the peach dress? And the SYW videos which were just a recording of a live performance and nothing more, and Stevie didn't even get to dress up because Lindsey made her tone it down with that very modest black dress with the pearl buttons. I'm thrilled to see Stevie mugging for the camera, laughing and smiling through the various videos for this CD, and obviously having the time of her life. And at 63 years old and all that she's given her fans over the years and everything she's given up just to be Stevie Nicks, she really deserves to be doing a project that she simply enjoys. And if that means gleefully playing dress up with Dave Stewart rather than some WB chosen bitchy producer (not pointing fingers at any producer she's worked with in the past, of course) forcing her to do things she doesn't want to do, I think she should be able to do it and really enjoy herself. The entire In Your Dreams project seems like a period of Stevie's life that she's really enjoyed and is sharing with us. And even the videos are like a peek into her world rather than some acted out set of images on a soundstage somewhere. I mean, how many of us have had a chance for a tour of her house before? And here we've seen tons of shots of her foyer with those beautiful circular stairs, her back yard, the beautiful art on her walls, I mean it's really incredible. I'm loving every minute of it.

I think back to Rooms on Fire video & how new that looked at the time LOL
Are we sure there are videos for the others tracks? My cousin works with Dave Stewart & has heard nothing else coming other than the documentary which I am drooling over, waiting to =see!!! LOL

Hmm since Stevie says she is going to spend next year promoting this album, I am wondering if the documentary will start the next leg of promotion. Dave originally talked about playing the documentary in small theaters in cities before they played a show there, yet that didn't happen. However, since Stevie did a decent tour of the US, what if she did some shows in the UK early 2012 and then in March/April have a 12 city or so documentary tour in which she tours the US and does screenings of the documentary with a Q&A and/or meet and greet/signing at each show and then release the doc later that month? Would kick ass!

The truth is the documentary may be a jumbled mess...after seeing the Moonlight video there's a chance that Dave talents as a producer may NOT translate to a director..I think he mistakes quick jarring editing for interesting film making...and I think he hopes that provocative imagary keeps viewers interested...it doesn't. This documentary could be shelved for two simple reasons - the limited sales of IYD and poor film making.

Stevie is the happiest I have ever seen. Her relationship with Dave has always delivered. I mean, the album came to fruition...videos...concerts with new material...she is working with her "kids" aspiring Rock n Rollers...IMO, Moonlight seemed to be, In your dreams...it was crazy, nothing made sense but we all have those fast, flashes of...what was that all about?
So, I think this pair has always delivered. And not with wishy washy maybe....in 2,000 years we MIGHT have something.
Shame on the Grammy idiots for overlooking a real true songwriter and performer...not many women...in fact...NO rocking lady has put into the fans...consistent masterpieces.
I am glad to have spent time with her in her sad sad 40s.
Hit it...pick it up...and hit it...

When the sizzle reel was shown(what seems like a million years ago now) there were clips of the Moonlight video in there and we were all so thrilled. Now we have the complete video which is wonderful but so many of the Ledgies seem to feel let down. I don't understand why. The other videos bore me but this one is fun and exciting to watch.
I think it fits well with IN YOUR DREAMS...It's a very dreamlike video with crazy symbolic stuff happening...then expecting owls...but Lori is walking backwards...Waddy walks from where Lori was and he looks like a corpse then vanishes and its one of the kids in old time formal mourning wear...then there is a part in the video that I love. It's a flash when Stevie is in the forest and the mist...I think it was to be very true to Moonlight the movie...she kind of looks like she landed from a jump...and she looks around like, I'm magic...where are they...bring it on...Then Sharon runs into the forest... then a choir going, STRAAAAAAAAAAGE>>>>
David did say the album and doc are a glimpse into her life, her dreams, her thoughts etc...when they first started tweeting etc...
I'm impressed.
This is meanish but, Lori looks as if she needs LaMer. Or is that just the make up?
OT...There is a supposed Lori Nicks blog on line...it's like a diary or journal type of site...and I can't believe its real becasue she is bitching, complaining :]...and is all messed up with Lindsey's kids...and she's' going to take them to save them ...and bad mouthing Jessica, her daughter...and Chris...it's so weird. It kind of seems like 2 pages are ripped out of a novel...
anyone seen this?

I agree with you about the marketing being screwed up, but I'll still enjoy it when it does get released. Maybe her team will be able to pull more rabbits out of the hat next year if she does continue to tour and promote it. I won't hold my breath for better promotion, but then again I was surprised they utilized Glee, DWTS, The Voice, Oprah, etc. I mean that's where you advertise now and they did it. Kudos.

I was hoping for the best, but you may be right. The Moonlight video was painful to watch. I was so angry to see how bad it was edited. Dave took extreme attention deficit disorder to a new level.
Aside from this, the timing is way off. Shouldn't have the documentary (or sections of it) been done and released before, or soon after the release of the album? That's basic marketing sense.
I assume the main objective of the documentary was to promote the album. After all this time, it's kind of a mute point - an after thought that wasn't fully thought out.
If he had a professional producer involved with the project, The videos and documentary could have been full beautiful imagery combined with coherent editing. I would like to think that Stevie has many admirers among the workers/producers in the movie/entertainment community. I wish one of them would have stepped in to help.

You'll recall the Destiny Rules documentary promoting SYW came out a full year and a bit after the album was released... Seems to be following the same pattern - which if Stevie keeps touring in 2012, follows the SYW rollout exactly.
Spread out releases of things is a good thing. Can you imagine if we had all of this stuff in the first month and a half? There would be nothing to talk about, nothing to look forward to... Spreading it out keeps momentum going.
Plus I don't think the quick clips in the video are a bother... have you looked at official videos recently?

I couldn't agree more with this. I'm coming down off my concert high, and was only thinking about the documentary on my way home from work this evening. The prospect of it coming out next year gives me something to look forward to, and means all the goodness of IYD will have extended for over 12 months.
And I couldn't care less how it's edited. Let's be honest, we're all probably going to pre-order it months in advance and its gonna be too late to give it back when we decide we hate it anyhow :p

I sooo agree!! It's interesting when you look at the quality of production of Sorcerrer and Everyday from TISL and then look at the hodge podge of Secret Love and Moonlight, it's embarrassing...Even if you don't like the storyline of those videos - Stevie's appearance alone is sooo vastly better...she never looked more beautiful then she did in those videos...Stevie fans learned to appreciate less because of those decades of Christopher Nicks marketing materials

One problem with choppy, ADDish editing in music videos like "Moonlight" is that most of the scenes are used up quickly and just run in different variations over and over again....boring!! I didn't mind the "Secret Love" or "FWIW" videos to much though.

They really aren't much different from videos from the 90's. Take a fresh look at Madonna's Vogue, Express Yourself or Like A Prayer - all small edits put together to make a long video.
I will grant that Moonlight has no actual story behind the video, but Stevie's videos never really have.

Vogue is beautifully filmed though. It looks timeless even though it's in black and white. And I think it's a huge problem that there is no story behind the Moonlight video because there is so much to the song itself. Vogue doesn't suffer from that problem. Like A Prayer makes a huge statement and the story is told through the video.

That's what suprised me, I expected a lush story-driven video with characters that were acting out something. While I wouldn't call the final product disappointing, I would say it's uninspired and hurried.

I don't think a good video has to have to have a linear storyline in a literal sense - the song speaks for itself. It just has to convey the feeling of song with imagery -- imagery that you can latch on to in an accessible pace. A video rendered in a non-human spastic pace, with consistent two second flashes is just a wasted effort; a piece of unwatchable trash with no lasting value.

As I keep saying the videos and recording and the whole project is a work in progress. She just finished a showcase tour...again, a work in progress...probably live footage...the videos rolled out after the teaser promos.....and the twitter, facebook...Current hit high rated shows were booked for a song or two...maybe a little Hawaii break for air...and then...
True Marketing is the way they have been working....a spoonfuls at a time.
Stevie hasn't put out a new record in years...just...except for contractual stuff which was the compilation repacks...and a video.
It like the top of the ladder down to Stevie and then her fans...do they think she still has it?
To keep fresh hype...timing g is planned and delivered based on our interest in her...and so many here are her worst nightmare. I keep reading people and their bitching from day 1. I feel like...go be Weird Al Yancovitchs fans. Gees.

Yeah.. That part I agree with... Seems everyone in the business shoots for a release date around the holidays, well the high profile acts do anyway, only because they can move tons in a short period of time. Warners could have done something a little creative before xmas even if the documentary wasn't ready for release and compiled the 4 videos that are released - stick them on a dvd and re-package the album as a two disc set... even as an exclusive release through Warners.
I can't see JUST a documentary release getting much attention unless they package it with something else like live stuff from the tour... That, or they'll have to partner with someone like PBS to get it out... Air it on TV then sell it. On it's own as just a documentary, it would have to be pretty fantastic to get attention...
Just my thoughts.

She has said she wants to continue to promote IYD into 2012. The doc is really the only way to do that. I say it will come out in the spring, and it will give her a chance to do the media circuit again. Ideally, another single and video would be released as well, but I don't know if that will happen. After some media appearances, she could do another batch of live shows.
