This is a little different than the lyric interpretation thread. What lines in these songs just absolutely grab you? I find myself listening to "Everybody Loves You" obsessively just for the line....
Don't come here again, unless fear of fire leaves you cold

Fear of fire leaves you cold? Brilliant.

Yes! Brilliant indeed. I love that lyric, and the whole verse it's in.

I love

About a Bird on a Wire and That was You - Everybody Loves you

They are the Soldiers of My Heart - Soldiers Angel (the climatic time she sings it)

She's lonely, lost, she's disconnected... Beutiful, Insecure, She has nothing - Moonlight

In the City of Dreams, lies the city of Ghosts - New Orleans

I look at you and I start to cry - for what it is worth

and we were magic - You May be the One

I love:

She was so enchanted by his smile, she was so unaffected by his dream. His dream of her, was just not possible, she was so not that girl. (Everybody Loves You)

I'm just at the other end of your night, I'm always in and out of your life. I'm right down the middle of all your dreams. (In Your Dreams)

She knows too much to walk away. She couldn't do it anyway. (Moonlight)

OH MY GOSH me too :blob2: That and for those awesome keyboards, and those Not Make Believe lines I really like. I LOVE Italian Summer's lyrics too, some people seem to think that the "ooh it's so romantic / soulful" stuff is a bit weird, but the way I see it, the song comes off as a happy romantic song about an Italian summer at first, but it's actually not a happy song at all - kind of like a contrast between the music and lyrics and the romantic/soulful lines just add to that in an, I dunno, ironic kind of way? I'm probably looking too deep into it but I like it better this way.

wide sargasso sea
She burned his house down saying you may have forgotten me,
But you'll remember this, you fell to the ground when you saw this.

haha. i love sassy stevie.

moonlight (AVD)

strange, she sat in the chair for months just staring

i remember reading new moon and how powerful it was when the chapters just had "november, december" or whatever the months were  because everyone has been so sad and the months blend together because you're so heartbroken. then when i went to see the movie, i knew i was going to be disappointed because that would be very difficult to portray in film but they did a fantastic job with her sitting in the chair staring out the window and the camera circling around her "november, december" etc.

annabel lee

can i say "everything"? by far my favorite song on the album. i know it's by EAP, but meh.

But our love was stronger
By far than the love
Of those who were older than we
Many far wiser than we

everybody loves you
sometimes it was heavenly, sometimes it was too heavy

really? i think that's brilliant.

you may be the one

ok, i can't even begin to think who this could be about for stevie because it's so closely related to my most recent relationships. as in...plural for almost all of them  but for the sake of making this a book, i'll pick out my favorite for the most recent of recent breakups.

you may have the goodness inside you
but you'll never let me see

that's all i have for now.

"They both run from the one who hunts them"...She couldn't do it alone...Moonlight.

The high "I want to brush by Anne Rice" in New Orleans is my favourite moment on the album.

"at the end of the Italian Summer, it rains fast and it rains hard", simple and very effective.

As for entire song, Soldier's Angel, New Orleans,Moonlight, For What it's Worth, In Your Dreams and Wide Sargasso Sea are among the best lyrics she's written.

I love, love this album!

Just a few of my fav lyrics:

For What It's Worth:

ALL (it's my fav song on the album)

Still forbidden, still outrageous

New Orleans:

In the midst of the sea of dreams lies a perfect storm.

In Your Dreams:

Are all those tears necessary
For all that pain that you carry
You just send those tears away
Come in and out of the darkness
It’s a beautiful day

It'll be easer for me to list the lyrics that make me wince...

..."ooo---wee, listen to me..."

That's it. Yep...one line in an entire Stevie Nicks album that chiliD has a bitch about.

Who are you and what have you done with the REAL chiliD?:eek:

Yes, I AM "THE" chiliD, this is not some imposter who hacked into my account.

These lyrics really hit home for me:

She's lonely, lost, she's disconnected
She finds no comfort in her surroundings

Beautiful, insecure, she has nothing
She moves from situation to situation like a ghost

i agree with that, too. and for some reason, on FWIW when she says "we knew it couldn't last..and that was hard" it just rubs me the wrong way.

and yes, where is our grumpy chiliD? what have you intruders done with him?

You may be the righteous one . . .

Put down that guitar, gave me a rose.

But you won't forget this . . .

 Most forced rhyme I've heard since some Thin Lizzy tune I heard a while back. "Ohhh poor Romeo, sitting all on his own-e-o"

For me, the "love into which I fell" is the most forced rhyme I've ever heard.

To me, "oooh wee, listen to me" is not forced, in that even a 2 year old could do it. So, it strikes me as rather natural -- and dumb.

I exluded that song from my post cause I'm trying very hard to forget it exists :distress:
