Mothers Day is just a week away & what better way to boost the sales of IYD than to buy all the mothers in your life a copy of IYD. My mom was the one who got me into Stevie in the first place from a young age, blaring Fleetwood Mac on old 8 tracks everytime we were in the car or on big albums at home. So I'm DEFINITELY slipping a copy in with the usual vase of flowers I give my mom every year, this time around. But it doesn't just have to be for your mom, give a copy to any mothers you know, young or old & you might just hook a new fan. People are a lot more likely to listen to a cd that's free as a gift than they are to go but a copy if they're not already a fan. And Best Buy has IYD on sale for only $9.99 on New Music Tuesday 5/3/11, so it's really cheap to do for several of your favorite mothers & help Stevie have great first week sales!

Not a bad idea, unless of course, your mother dislikes Stevie to the extreme.

I was just thinking that a release date close to mother's day was a brilliant move. I remember a few years ago Susan Boyle had the biggest selling album of the year (or something like that), and I couldn't fathom how. I really hadn't been particularly aware of it, and it hadn't done especially well on iTunes.
Then someone pointed out that it came out around the holidays, and everyone bought it for their mothers and aunts.
I can totally see it working the same way for Stevie.

Yup, that's my mom. Otherwise, I would in a second.

My mom is like somewhat of a fan. More casual I guess - she likes the songs she remembers from the radio when she was growing up, and doesn't seem to have an opinion on much else.

So I'm getting it for her anyway. She can listen to it in the car.

Yeah, my mom is still really into the old Fleetwood Mac albums & she played WH & BD to death in the car all the time when I was younger, so I got hooked on Stevie from a young age, but WH came out when I was 7 & that was pretty much all she wrote for me. Sable on Blond was an instant fav, as well as Nothing Ever Changes, Beauty & the Beast, etc. But, she didn't follow Stevie past RAL. She got into TITN a little, but after that, she pretty much lost interest & got into Emmylou Harris & Linda Ronstadt more. But I always give her new Stevie/FM cd's when they come out & I got her hooked back on Stevie with TISL, but she wasn't a fan of SYW, with the absence of Christine. But I'm sure she'll love IYD...

My 83 year old mother loves Stevie. She's been to 2 Mac concerts and one Stevie show. I just took my 11 year old daughter to the Stevie/Rod show at the Garden. She loved it.....she had already sung "Edge of Seventeen" at her school's talent show 2 years ago. We are a 3 generation Stevie family. Tomorrow's my birthday, Tuesday is the CD relase and I'll be at Webster on Wednesday. It's Stevie season for sure. And we will be buying at least 2 of the new cds.

Well a very Happy Birthday to you... hope you have a great one! Yesterday (May 1st) was my mom's birthday.. she always gets to be celebrated two weeks in a row.. since Mother's Day is pretty much always the following week.

I ordered my Mom a copy on the day the pre-order came up!
She is going to help me and my cousin celebrate "Stevie Day" on Tuesday. I have her to thank for raising me on Fleetwood Mac.

I can vividly remember us singing Gold Dust Woman while she cleaned house when I was a toddler. So, YES..she is getting a copy from her dear old daughter!
