I do love the new album, but TISL hits me on a level that IYD doesn't. I think I still need time for "In Your Dreams" to find it's way into my life, and find where it fits in my story as well as Stevie's...so for now, TISL, you are still my soul!

I remember getting it! It was the only copy in HMV,I was in awe.
I transferred it to cassette because it was so precious to me I wanted to keep the CD in best condition possible lol. I was 16 :)
oh and I had just gotten over an ear infection which I was terrified I'd never be able to hear it in the weeks leading up,I was terribly ill.
Aw good times all in all,it was magic.:)

10 years ago today, I was sitting in my 8th grade class, going crazy because I knew that I could be listening to TISL... I was completely pumped after watched Vh1 nearly 24/7 for the tons of Stevie stuff that they showed... Then when my father picked me up from school I forced him to take me straight to Circuit City and buy the album... 10 years later, I am still in love with it... and now I'm falling for IYD...

Happy Birthday TISL - The first Stevie/FM album I ever bought or heard, and especially the title track, the first non FM Stevie song I ever heard. I bought the album on the off chance, in large part because I'd seen her name listed on several songs on Sheryl Crow's 'C'mon, C'mon', and was also aware that she had recorded 'It's Only Love', so I took a chance and picked it up one afternoon after work.
I remember playing it on my brothers stereo system, which was far better quality than mine, and I still recall the instant I heard that song - I knew I had to hear more. I'd never heard anything like it before, this epic, meandering, cryptic rock song. I still think the title track is one of the best songs in her catalogue.

Oh, I remember buying this album. It was the first Stevie/FM album I bought by myself, and I was so psyched the morning I bought it (the day it was released as soon as the store opening) I was freaking out the cashier who rung me out. I was literally hopping up and down in joyful anticipation. lol

I was SOOOO excited the night before the release. I BEGGED my parents to let me skip school so I could get the CD (I was shot down). Then after school made my dad drive me around until we found a place that was carrying it. Besides for school, I didn't come out of my room for the entire first week after it was released. I can't believe it's already been 10 years.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TISL!!!!

This is my least fave Stevie album!
I'm so glad 'IYD' is great because that would of sucked if it wasn't, but hey it's Stevie so I deal. :p
Nothin' holds a candle to 'Rock A Little'!

My first Stevie album!! Prior to this, I only had The Dance to worship. Oh how times have changed now that I make my own purchasing decisions.

I had gotten the promo version a few weeks prior but as soon as I got out of work I headed out to get the official disc. I loved the album at the time (see my lengthy review on Amazon). I still like the album, but I have to say I love "In Your Dreams" even more.
Part of the reason I loved TISL so much was because I was so dissapointed with "Street Angel", which was the first Stevie album I wasn't all that interested in listening to again after my first listen. Stevie was back with TISL.

Happy Birthday TISL. Let's see.... i was 16. I Rember buying it, and thinking, It's better then SA. It was Still not up to where I knew Stevie could Be. Great tracks mixed in with....not so good stuff that keeps it from being great. My final word.....an ok album

I was in college and couldn't find it in the one record store in the podunk town where I went to school, so I had to wait a few days to go back to my hometown for the weekend, where I bought it from Wherehouse Music. Loved it instantly, and I still think it's damn good. Several songs are still in rotation on my iPod: TISL, Candlebright, Sorcerer, POTU, Bombay Sapphires, Fall from Grace.

in honor of TISL, I walked down to Dupont Circle to the farmer's market listening to it on my ipod.. I still love this album and listen to many of the songs frequently... but here is what's weird. I walk by Melody Records and there are 2 Stevie Nicks posters in the store's front window for Trouble in Shangri-La... the poster is the picture where she is sitting crossed leg in front of the Kaleidoscope with the men circling around her head. Of course I went into the store to ask the clerk about it. He said they received it from the record company last week... I told him it was for her album that came out 10 years ago. He seemed puzzled, but took my name and phone number and said he would call me when they take the posters down (no promised he added). So why is the record company sending out this poster to promote iyd?? maybe explains why one reviewer thought tisl was the name of the new album.
Then, i noted they had "In Your Dreams" out for sale.. $15.99 and already pre-ordered, but of course I bought it.. I can stop the stream and I'm putting it on my ipod now (it comes up track 1, track 2.. so I'll have to add the titles, etc. later)
I must say, I really think the booklet is nice.. I love the four pictures of Stevie in the middle.. especially the one of the far right.. and the booklet's colors are very warm....
so if you live in DC and want to buy the CD today.. Melody records at Dupont Circle is selling it. i was a tad nervous when he scanned in the cd thinking he might get a message on his screen stating "do not sale until Tuesday.." yea - I'm no longer tied to my computer and I know its going to sound so much better on cd.. than stream..
