I ll say this, Warners or who ever is promoting the IYD album, so far, hell evenim impressed, course doesnt mean crap if the album tanks, which i hope it will
but, ill give credit where its due, i think IYD is getting more promotion than SYW did, which is amzing since that was FM and more promo than all of LB solo records put together which is sad
i dont get how some one as over the hill and already had her time in the sun like SN gets all this and LB needs to find a record label, man that is more mysterious than the Bermuda Triangle, im telling you
but, whatever, I have never understood SN SOLO wise, but looks like im in the ,minority on that one
sad part, if IYD DEBUTS at #1 , i just thought of it, that will be the END of FM forever, if SN already had a big head and huge ego, I can only imagine what now that will do, I mean, 1982 was one thing, but now, if she goes #1, kiss FM good bye, which hoenstly is pretty crap, since shes had her time and LBis mainly the reason FM and SN even have good songs
oh well
kudos to her promotion, even I am seeing and reading about IYD
Thank you WB for kicking out LB, makes real sense
no wonder why LB can still write, if I was treated as badly as him, id have plenty to say as well

Are you trying to start a flame war?
If you want to have a legitimate discussion about WB's marketing of this album, that's one thing. But to include anti-Stevie, pro-Lindsey comments on a SN-focused message board just reeks of trolling.

Indeed it does. But there will always be one person who always wants to bring everyone else down to their level.

If someone were truly confident in Lindsey's talents, they wouldn't have to take swipes at Stevie.

To quote Stevie... in your dreams. The album will hit top 10 without a doubt.
i dont get how some one as over the hill and already had her time in the sun like SN gets all this and LB needs to find a record label, man that is more mysterious than the Bermuda Triangle, im telling you
First of all, if Stevie is "over the hill" so is Lindsey, and the rest of Fleetwood Mac. Now who's displaying double standards?
Lindsey needs to find a record label because he wasn't selling, and ergo, not making the record company money. Stevie is still making money. Therefore, she doesn't have to try and find a new label.
sad part, if IYD DEBUTS at #1 , i just thought of it, that will be the END of FM forever, if SN already had a big head and huge ego, I can only imagine what now that will do, I mean, 1982 was one thing, but now, if she goes #1, kiss FM good bye, which hoenstly is pretty crap, since shes had her time and LBis mainly the reason FM and SN even have good songs
You under-estimate Stevie's loyalty to Fleetwood Mac and her ability and talent as a singer/songwriter. If Stevie wanted to leave Fleetwood Mac, she would have done a long long time ago. LB being the main reason FM and SN have good songs? Laughable. Christine had the most hits in the band, followed by Stevie. Lindsey didn't write them. Sure, he helped, but, you're giving him too much credit. His production has ruined as many songs as it's helped; Smile At You, for example.
Plus, I don't see Lindsey helping Stevie on any of her multi-platinum selling albums ;)
Thank you WB for kicking out LB, makes real sense
At the end of the day, it's business. If Lindsey wasn't making them money, WB are perfectly within their rights to kick Lindsey off their label. I'm surprised it didn't happen years ago.
It sounds to me, like you have one hell of a bitter pill because Stevie's been successful as a solo artist and Lindsey hasn't. Get over it. Lindsey doesn't seem to care, he's still making music; so why be all bitter and nasty over it? It doesn't make any sense to me.

You're in the wrong place son. If you don't change the tone, I can only imagine your tenure here will be limited.

Ehh, someone isn't doing their homework or paying attention. Stevie has quite clearly said in recent interviews that as soon as this album runs out of gas that she either wants to do another Fleetwood Mac album or a Buckingham Nicks album. That after working with Lindsey for Soldier's Angel, she felt closer to him than she had in 30 years. So yeah, this argument is pretty baseless.
Regarding Lindsey being treated poorly, when Fleetwood Mac plays live these days he gets more per concert revenue than Mick & John COMBINED. His past 2 albums have been critic's darlings, and he's widely credited by music historians as the architect behind FM's sound and success. If that's being treated poorly, sign me UP!! :woohoo:

Did Warner's really drop Lindsey?
I was under the impression that his contract was up and he didn't renew it... but I really haven't read all that much about it, admittedly.
Anyway obviously this post is entirely ridiculous and just bait for a fight... but I do have to say that I think it's especially silly to think that Stevie would ditch FM now, regardless of how her album does or some other factor..

Well, at least now when customer reviews start popping up regarding IYD saying "I've been a fan of Stevie's for 30+ years, and this is by far her worst album..." we'll know where they are coming from. ;)

My impression from what Lindsey said was he chose not to renew his contract because he felt WB did nothing to promote his recent albums.
And I agree... Stevie has said repeatedly she needs both FM and her solo career to keep things interesting, and to keep herself inspired. Plus, I think she keeps touring and such with FM because she knows the men of the band are reliant on her for paychecks.

You're just jealous because Lindsey didn't get credit on the new CD like Dave Stewart & I'm talking the actual CD!
You remind of the dork that's been saying Stevie's 'Overrated' on another board.

But you are the one who just personally attacked another board member in this thread. You violated our profanity rules to boot. I'm sorry you can't handle differing opinions, but that's YOUR problem.

What was the topic??? Oh yeah, WB's PR on the album...
Stevie is featured on AOL's main page - it only directs you to the spinner page - but hey - that's some great exposure!

I think the promotion has been odd, really.
There was a flood of interviews about a month ago to promote both the Heart & Soul Tour and In Your Dreams. Then silence.
Now, the reviews are trickling out, as is related press. I think we'll see more in the next week once the album is out. I'd love to see some more TV appearances, but I think that the Oprah touch will do a lot of good for sales.

Right now, FM is no longer on the label anymore either. So, if they do new music, they'll have to shop for a label. Of course, that's not much different than what they were doing at the beginning of the Destiny Rules documentary. Michele

Firstly, David A your post is the height of rudeness
if you want success for Bucky, you should want success for Stevie
because successful Stevie is a happy Stevie and a happy Stevie = an intact Mac
I don't think it will give her a huge ego ... she has that already all of her songs are about her :p
2ndly i don't know what promo'ing you're referring to but considering how good the album actually is and how sucky TISL was/is in comparison, my general overall dislike for it AND the events which occured surrounding TISL ... Stevie deserves SOME recognition and for sh!ts sake, it's been TEN years
3rdly, Bucky is equally talented in a different manner. i do not understand why he doesn't have a label. hell, why isn't he is OWN label? his new stuff is some of, if not his absolute best.

Personal feelings are irrelevant to whether an album deserves to do well. Trouble In Shangri-La was widely critically praised. Just because you personally don't like it doesn't make it a bad album. It's just an album that you didn't like.

I hate to tell u this but without Christibe McVie, Fleetwood Mac is not Fleetwood Mac and it has already ended. My oponion is Lindsey has shunned "the machine" commercial success. It's clear that Stevie wants to be heard. She might be better off with just sticking with Dave.
