The stream went down, so to get my fix (this album is like crack to me) I went to Barnesandnoble.com to listen to the little 30 second clips. They seem to only seem to play the slowest moving part of a song. How is a random verse where the build up hasn't even started supposed to entice people into this disc? I am displeased.

Maybe it keeps going down because its being hit a lot. I know that I've been playing the album non-stop via the Rolling Stone page.

If you don't clean out your history daily go to history, find the RS link and click......it worked for me! :blob1::blob2:

Since the Rolling Stone preview has been up, I have left the little flash player open in the background and its always there for me when I want it! :) Can't stop listening to this cd!

All is well. I found the stream. BUT the more important issue... The horrible samples! I mean obviously they're not horrible, but definately NOT the parts of a song to play if you want a casual listener to buy the disc.

The link isn't on the article page anymore, but you can still access the music if you go to the direct link:

It'll tide me over until my CD arrives!

i don't understand why people are so worried about crappy snippets and youtube uploads. in a perfect world (without illegal downloading, leaks, or disappointing 30-second clips), what kind of sales would you expect for this record? i'm honestly curious. saying the snippets will "kill" the record just seems laughably dire.

I don't know about the 30-second clips on B/N & Amazon killing sales but I can tell you I brought 2 albums after hearing them in full on the RS website. I'm now dying to get my hands on the "real thing" after hearing the RS preview of IYD.

This is just ridiculous.

Are we really that scared that it'll fail that we have to think of a dozen crazy things to blame in case?

I gotta agree. I actually thought that the B/N clips were really good at what they do; particularly Ghosts Are Gone, Annabel Lee and Moonlight.

Hrm.....can't really agree with you here. I think the snippets of "Moonlight" and "Italian Summer" really sell those songs well. I wasn't that into the other two, but I've seen many others on this board rave about the "Wide Sargasso Sea" snippet. I will say that the "Annabel Lee" clip didn't really communicate the song's epic sound but then I'm not sure a clip could.

The iTunes previews are WAY better than amazon/bn

Tis a shame.

I agree too. Relax..it's a wonderful album. I've grown to not care about sales anyway. Stevie came through for us:nod:

Barnes and Noble. Buckingham Nicks. It's a conspiracy!
