I just checked, he's neither banned nor is his IP address blocked. The board has some quirks right now that we absolutely cannot figure out. This one will have to go on the list too. We have threads locking themselves, posts jumping forums, entire threads are vanishing, people suddenly get "moderator" next to their names, but do not have moderator privileges, etc. :shrug:

that moderator thing has been happening for years. and strand's problem has been going on for years, too. :shrug: so it can't just be the recent problems to blame.

Apparently we are a few years behind on software/program updates for the Ledge, but we don't have enough supporting/paying members to help offset the cost of upgrading. Moving to a different program & server has been debated, but then we'd lose everyone's old posts, join dates, etc.

when he first registered earlier today, he could log on & read posts, but not post. it said his account was awaiting administrative approval. now he can't log on at all. has his pending account been denied? the problems with his original account aren't browser/computer related - i have logged on to my account from his computer. something else is wonky.

His new screenname appears to have been booted by the system. This is either because 1) he used the same email address to sign up for a new name 2) he has the same IP address as his original screenname. Either one will automatically kick you out of the system as a duplicate. I can't see how Jason's having problems with his original screenname if he signed in 2 days ago, and nothing's amiss in his profile on our administrative control panel. The only thing I can suggest once again is for somebody to tell him to try using a different internet browser (ie: Chrome, Firefox, etc), and see if that helps. Whatever the problem is, it's on his end, not the Ledge's :).

It kind of goes into limboland... he just gets to that "thanks for logging in" page (or some kind of interstitial page), and it just hangs there indefinitely. That's probably why he is shown as having "logged in," even though he really is unable to get beyond the interstitial to any of the forums.

i remember james (bretonbanquet) switched his to a hotmail acct and it locked him out. he couldn't even get in contact with the moderators because i had to PM them for him.
