I want to share this album with so many people in my life...the problem is...they are all not into Stevie's music and will really only have the attention span to listen to one song...
Which song does everyone think stands out the most in the new album and could possibly "hook" people not familiar with Stevie's music?
I'm thinking "In Your Dreams" or "Moonlight"...but it's so hard to choose being a crazy die-hard fan that loves anything Stevie decides to sing...haha
Can't wait to hear everyone's responses!!

In Your Dreams, Italian Summer, Everybody Loves You, For What It's Worth, Cheaper Than Free
Note: this is just what I think would catch newbies attention

I would start with the title track. It's a great catchy and uptempo track with a fantastic hook and it's the perfect length for a new non-Stevie fan to sit through.

i think it would depend on each friend and their musical tastes and where they are emotionally?? like i have a friend who has been reflecting lately on an old relationship and i know he will LOVE For What It's Worth...and i have a nephew who loves tom petty and i know he will love In Your Dreams... my sister loves strings so Italian Summer...etc... if that makes any sense??

In Your Dreams or New Orleans if you want them to have a brilliant chorus, Everybody Loves You if you want to highlight romantic and intense Stevie, and Ghosts Are Gone if you want to show why she's the Queen of Rock and Roll!

For What It's Worth, In Your Dreams, or Moonlight.. depending on what type of music they like.

My bf can't stand Stevie & complains everytime I play her music, but he really likes Moonlight, so I think that speaks volumes about the song. Also, the title track is really catchy & would probably hook anyone, although I'm a rocker & always go for the hardest hitting songs & I know a lot of my rockin friends would love GAG.

Moonlight gets my vote too. It sums up the feel of the record very nicely!

Moonlight for sure
because it shows off her ooooooold stuff, but it's fresh and funky and just GAH!!!
or In Your Dreams, it's catchy and not too deep dark and serious

I feel like I'm the only one that can't love the title track yet.
I mean. I like it. But it's not a love. Anyone with me? or am I all alone in this "meh" attitude towards the title track?

Move on down to Texas, I'll treat ya better! ;)
I was actually just contemplating today which song I'm going to send my friend Lee when I get the album. He's a HUGE music lover like I am, and we are forever exchanging songs and artists. The problem is Lee prefers a bit quirkier/less polished/commercial stuff than I generally do. But we share a love of all things scandal/racy... so perhaps Wide Sargasso Sea? :D Lee's fav place on earth is New Orleans... so the song of the same name might be an option too :).
I think it all just depends on who you want to share the music with. For instance, I bet my Mom and cousin would LOVE the bluesy country tinged You May Be The One. I am different and think that most people would find Moonlight a bit airy fairy. On the other hand I don't see how anyone could dislike the title track, In Your Dreams :).

I think that New Orleans would be the best song for a nonfan.
Played it for my mother and she liked it alot. And it's so catchy that it's hard not to like.

Yeah, well, you'd turn me off the album if you sent me that one first:lol:. Michele

Like others, I agree that it would depend on who it was and what kind of music they like. I'd probably tend to go for "In Your Dreams" in general just because most people respond well to upbeat catchy songs. I think "Moonlight" is the best song on the album though.

I will give it try.My dad and my sister is not into Stevie's music probably me brainwashing them with overplaying her music all of these years. My late mom and sister did like some of Stevie's songs and I think they will approve this cd.

I've been working on my boyfriend with this. He's normally not a Nicks fan (doesn't hate her either, just more indifferent), but he's heard the entire album due to the Rolling Stone stream and my insistence. :) He likes:
For What It's Worth
Wide Sargasso Sea
New Orleans
Moonlight
Ghosts Are Gone
You May Be The One
Cheaper Than Free
The only one he came close to saying he didn't like was Soldier's Angel, I think it was too slow paced for him. All the rest he thought were fine.

For newbies, I would pick the songs in which she's consistently at her vocal best. So in my view, those would be "Secret Love," "Moonlight," and "Italian Summer."
