If someone wants to combine this with the other In Your Dreams threads, that's fine, but I just thought it would be a little more organized to have a thread specifically for this topic.
I'm most interested in You May Be The One right now. This verse:
And then, there was the kiss
Right out there in the universe
How did that happen?
No it could not happen worse
You forget yourself
it could not happen worse
You broke my heart, broke my heart
Upon first listen I thought of that Dance show where during Go Your Own Way (I think) Lindsey comes over and kisses Stevie and she just stands there like, did that really just happen in front of everyone?
Regardless of this was the specific moment Stevie is speaking about, I still feel confident that the song is about Lindsey.
What do you guys think? Thoughts on other songs?

Y'know, even after listening to it straight through at least 10 times, I feel like I'm only beginning to take in the lyrics. I honestly hadn't realized how totally, completely You May Be the One is about LB until you mentioned it.
That song is swimming in ambivalence. Even after the repeated "You may be the one, but you'll never be the one," it's hard to know where she lands on the issue. Even as the lyrics basically conclude that it won't work, I used to love you, etc. she ends with the note that "we were magic." Also interesting that she chose to title it "You May be the One" instead of "You'll Never be the One." And her voice is pretty crazy seductive on this one...
Might very well be that kiss. An interesting thought.
Seriously, I'm so excited about all of these songs. I think new meanings, new things to love will keep coming to all of us for a long time.

My favorite nod to Lindsey on You May Be the One? How reminiscent the guitar parts are to his style. Nicks is getting sly in her old age.

"We were magic" completely reminded me of all the comments Stevie makes about how amazing she and Lindsey sounded in the beginning, how their voices blended so perfect.

I'm going all "shipper" tonight on ya, folks. I apologize.
For What It's Worth
I got to sing, I got to dance
I got to be a part of a great romance
Still forbidden, still outrageous
Only a few around us knew,
but no one said a word
It was contagious
Stevie is reminiscing The Dance tour and the return of Fleetwood Mac. She got to experience the huge, sold out crowds again and the excitement of the early years. She also rekindled her romance with Lindsey.
Looked out the window, we watched the cars fly by
I look at you and I start to cry
What you did was, you saved my life
I won't forget it
Someone told me a while ago that Lindsey talked to Jess, Stevie's dad, in '93 about Stevie's addiction and this was a factor that led up to Stevie entering rehab. I think that is what she is referencing here.
You said, "Even if I left my girlfriend,
Packed up my stuff, loaded up my car
Drove down to your house with good intentions
Came through your door
For what its worth"
And here's where Kristen comes in.
I got to love, I rode the rails
You came with me because you cared
I was broke and I was scared
You held my hand, took away my fear
We knew it couldn't last, that was hard
Looked out the window, we watched the cars fly by
I look at you and I start to cry
What you did was, you saved my life
I won't forget it

I think at the time, all Stevie had was anger towards the situation ("Fall From Grace") and now she's telling Lindsey, though she was hurt, she understands now. You can't walk away from committments, even if you want to. And he saved her life. How could she ever forget that? "For what it's worth". .. it's 14 years later, but here's her own little apology in a way.

On FWIW, I actually agree more with what Grace said in the other thread: it's a reflection on a love-life well lived with Lindsey, moreso than a particular situation. I love the line "I got to be part of a great romance." There's a finality to it and a note of reflection that shows so much more...maturity...than most of her songs about Buckingham. Even the title, For What It's Worth...I love that she doesn't need it to work out anymore. It was still worth something.

Well, I have to say I don't think FWIW is about Lindsey at all. My favorite parts that I do take to be about Lindsey are when she says he said, "I'm so afraid."
Also, when she says, "put down that guitar and gave me a rose."
The the way she says "that" guitar reminds me of the way she said she had to pry the guitar out of his hands and put him to bed, because all he did was sit on the floor playing it.
If she'd said "your" guitar, it would have been one thing, but when I hear THAT it almost sounds like a little antagonism towards the guitary (like saying, "that darn cat!") and that reminds me of all the times Lindsey's guitar must have gotten on her nerves.
But the line reminds me of being with someone for such a long time that you take one another for granted and the person isn't romantic to begin with. So, in the small second where they do, break with routine and make a romantic gesture (the rose) it means so much.

I love the honesty of that song. It's like a cross between Landslide and After the Glitter Fades. It also sorta of reminds me of Dreamboat Annie, the song.

I don't think this song is about Lindsey too. I was thinking Tom Petty, maybe ? I just don't see how Lindsey "saved her life"...

I do think it's a throw back to the beginning, being at the train station, leaving SF and going on the journey together. From that view point, the gf in the first chorus could be LB's first gf, Sally.

I agree especially since it comes after Soldier's Angel, the one song LB is on. I'll always think alot of SN's songs are about LB. Too much passion and time between them not to be (meaning lots of inspiration). I'm a shipper but not to the point that I'll think they will end up together or are still hooking up...

It reminds me of Lindsey's lyric about her being gone for good this time, "but I never really know."
And I also think of Stevie saying she told him, ‘You have to understand that when I come in with a pretty-much finished demo, that’s because you haven’t been in my life. I had to go and learn how to make music without you.’ And I did. And I learned it very well; I don’t always need Lindsey to make my music come true.”

Moonlight
Some call her strange lady from the mountains
And others say she’s not really real...
Like a candle burns bright, it wants to burn faster
But maybe then at least she really feels...
Burning like the candle...
In the middle...
She’s lonely…lost…she’s disconnected
She finds no comfort in her surroundings
Beautiful…insecure…she has nothing
She moves from situation to situation like a ghost
Then she sees him…candle burning…
Strange…she runs with the one she can’t keep up with
Ooh, it’s so strange
He slows down, so desperate to stop her
Meet her in the middle...
They both run from the one who hunts them
They drop to the forest floor…frozen
They drop to the forest floor…frozen
He loves her….but he needs his life alone as well
But does he know the road or the reasons why
If he leaves her, he’ll be losing the chance to stay alive
But the candle burns bright then the candle dies
Burning from the middle…just like a candle
Strange…she runs with the one she can’t keep up with
Oooh, it’s so strange
He slows down, so desperate to stop her
They meet in the middle
They both run from the one who hunts them
They drop to the forest floor…frozen
They drop to the forest floor…frozen
Strange…he’s laying on the floor in silent pain
She sat in the floor for months just staring
She knows too much to walk away
She couldn’t do it any way
Strange…she’s laying on the floor in silent pain
She sat in the floor for months just staring
She knows too much to walk away
She couldn’t do it any way...
He slows down…he slows down…
He slows down…she couldn’t do it…
She couldn’t do it…
I could be totally off base here, but she's already said this song is half about the Twilight series and half about Linds but the second I heard the word "frozen" all I could think of was "Frozen Love."
And there's a hell of a lot of candle burning going on in this song too--references back to Candlebright?????
[Candlebright
For no special reason
I am leaving you for awhile tonight
I'm flying far above you
Still I love you
You make things right
I've been with you before
I'll be with you again
I'll come back for more, yea
The story has a strange ending
Well, you know me I'm a nomad
I can't feel bad
About the way I am
I've been rolling around
My whole life
You're my candlebright in the window
You guide me back again
And I come when you shine
You are not my friend, no
But I am something of a dreamer
I am something of a dreamer
I am something of a dreamer
Still I love you
My candlebright
You are not my friend
But still I love you
You're my candlebright
Still I love you
But you are not my friend
But still I love you
I can't feel bad

I noticed the candle stuff as well, and also associated it with Candlebright. Didn't catch the Highwayman stuff though - nice! There are an awful lot of throwbacks to other lines in songs, between the similar symbols/themes/phrases and such.

Well, recently Stevie just recounted her statement about Joe Walsh being the love of her life ... Then again, Stevie's stories aren't known for their consistency so this might change in the future again lol.
Doesn't really seem like anythings about Mick or Joe to me, although if there weren't some obvious allusions to Lindsey in You May Be The One ("he says I'm so afraid", Angel throwbacks, etc) I would say Joe could be a contender for that song.
Secret Love - ?
FWIW - ?
In Your Dreams - Lindsey
Wide Sargasso Sea - That movie/book, mostly? Maybe it relates to one of her relationships, but I've just been assuming it's summarizing the plot of that story
New Orleans -Not about a relationship or love really, so n/a
Moonlight - Lindsey and (bleh) Edward/Bella
Annabel Lee - Stevie's mysterious former female lover  I jest.
Soldier's Angel - again, like New Orleans, not about a love/relationship really
Everybody Loves You - Lindsey
Ghosts Are Gone - Debatable, as I don't really understand some of the lyrics, but ghost through the fog references and stuff about 'he was not clear, not even to his song' lead me to say Lindsey.
You May Be The One - Lindsey.
Italian Summer - I can't remember if she said this was just a hypothetical love song or if it was actually about someone.. if it's about someone I have no idea.

Lindsey has a song called Goodbye Angel that was considered for Mirage. Maybe that's why I always assumed Angel was about him. Like, Beauty and the Beast is about Mick, so I link that one to Beautiful Child as well.

I just wanted to point out a few more things in You May Be The One that make me think it is definitely, 100% about LB.
First, the chorus: "I used to dream that you were an angel."
I've always had "angel" associated with LB, but I can't remember why. I suppose I always assumed "Angel" (the song) was about him, as well as LB's "Goodbye Angel."
Later, "You say its taken years/Years of regret and pain"
Doesn't this sound like LB's signature speech? Starting with the Dance, through SYW and Unleashed. Especially reminds me of some of the scenes in Destiny Rules.
"Says 'I'm so afraid'" Enough said.
The final line about being magic also suggests Lindsey.
Of course, most of her songs are probably about Lindsey but what strikes me about this one is how completely obvious she is being.
Also, if this song truly is about LB then it just breaks my little shipper's heart.

And, "I used to dream that you were an angel.." = "the angel of my dreams" lol
Angel I think is Lindsey. Beautiful Child I go back and forth on between Mick / Lindsey... mostly I tend to think Lindsey, honestly. I always kind of thought Beautiful Child and Storms went hand in hand.

Lindsey has a song called Goodbye Angel that was considered for Mirage. Maybe that's why I always assumed Angel was about him. Like, Beauty and the Beast is about Mick, so I link that one to Beautiful Child as well.
There was a time when I used to call you angel. Where in the world did you come from . . .
I don't know if Angel is about him or not, but certainly after we've seen it performed on those videos, it feels like it's him.

Seriously, For What It's Worth is one of Stevie's best songs in a lonnng time.
To be honest, I think it's the second-weakest song on this CD. IMO, only "Cheaper Than Free" is worse.
Then again, the gap between FWIW and CTF is pretty huge. At least CTF is better than Silver Hurl.

this made my lil shipper heart go squeeeeeeeeeeeee
i think all the throwbacks make it an obvious Lindsey song
much more so than FWIW which i just adore but don't think it's about him
although i did know know about the Lindsey-Jess-rehab pt tres convo
the thing i find the most interesting about this song in particular is its title
it's not You WERE the One or You USED to be the One or You'll NEVER be the One but it's current tense  which just makes me think it's like you're the one for aaaaaaall time there'll never be any comparison ever to anyone. and it's a more recent observation or realization like, "Yeah, you know what, I think you may be the *one*" which is actually kinda reeeeeally sad :( ... that it's a recent revelation and not oh, i dont know 40 years ago

Okay, so everybody seems to be in agreement about Everybody Loves You being about Lindsey. But I'm surprised no one else has commented on the substance of these lyrics!! To me, it sounds like Lindsey was making some sort of indecent proposal to Stevie:
She was so enticed by his smile
She was so unaffected by his dream
For his dream of her was just not possible
She was so not that girl
It was just one things that happened... it didn't happen
Strand of golden hair, tangled
Like the words of a song
Like a spider's web...
To me, that almost sounds like he was asking Stevie to be his 'woman on the side'... to be in a tangled love triangle.

well i think you will like sister honey
it totally sounds like he wants her to be the other woman
but she's not having ANY of it
which is kinda self righteous of her ...
since she's been there, done that :p

I wonder if that was when he was dating Carol Anne? I had to laugh reading her book, when Lindsey goes to "tell Stevie off" and returns over an hour later, red in the face, and she believes him when he just says "It's sorted"
I'm totally and utterly convinced You May Be The One is about Lindsey, especially because of all these little nods to Fleetwood Mac I've noticed;
How it's lasted so long, it's a mystery to me
- Sure, it was before Stevie and Lindsey's time, but it struck me as being quite a nice little nod to the band.
You may cry the tears, but the tears aren't really for me
You say it's taken years, years of regret and pain
Forget me not, says I'm so afraid - the most obvious nod it's about Lindsey.
Says there's no fear in your eyes
Tell me another lie - I immediately thought of Little Lies when I heard this. That might just be me, though.
Plus, isn't Stevie and Lindsey's pet name for each other Angel? I'm convinced Angel is about Lindsey, and Goodbye Angel is about Stevie. And the last line "we were magic" ... doesn't Stevie keep saying in interviews that Lindsey did magic to her songs?
Although, unlike most of Stevie's songs about Lindsey, I think this song is quite... she's at peace with their relationship. I think she's acknowledging how much he meant to her and what their relationship was like, and how, looking back, he may be "the one".
Or I'm totally overthinking this.

This liine reminds me of an SYW interview where they ask her how she and Lindsey sound without Christine and she says something, "I think Lindsey and me are incredible." Her immodesty about it made me laugh. And this lyric reminds me of that.

I get the impression that she did have SOME, but then she said she wasn't having any more. And then when she explained Ghosts Are Gone as being when you finally put a long relationship behind you, I got that impression too, that she finally said, "enough is enough." Also, I combine it with Lindsey's lines about a woman telling him he must keep away and that he can't see the woman any more because it causes her harm.

Bombaysaffires made a really nice point in the Pre-Rumours thread about YMBTO lyrics having so much in common with Peter Green's dream vision:
Green, who said he’d had a vision at the party in which he saw an angel holding a starving child, left the band two months later, complaining drummer Mick Fleetwood had refused his request that they donate all their royalties to charity.
It seemed such a strange choice of words for Stevie (in a romantic context) that I wondered where they had come from. Need, desperation, munificence, graditude. Strange imagery. Aside from the placement of the angel on a pedestal or at the top of the tree, the first and last priority, the other thing the wording made me think was that at one time she couldn't get enough, wanted more, starving like Bob Cratchit.
Interesting lyric anyway and I like the insight into its derivation.
