Who is NOT listening to the CD until it's released?

I am dying to hear the entire CD today. I am so happy everyone is loving it and I hope Stevie is getting word that the fans are so happy with it. I would love to see this inspire her to keep recording.

When TISL was leaked I listened to the songs. When I went to buy the CD at midnight it didnt feel as special for me. I decided then I would never do that again. It's so difficult to not listen especially with all these glowing reviews but I am gonna be stong and hold out for 3 May.

So happy to read all this praise for her new songs!

The absolute only reason I listened is because you can hear the entire album, every note. If that hadn't been the case, I would have abstained as well. Because I totally ruined TISL for myself by listening to the leaks and snippets. But I got to hear IYD from start to finish today, and it was no different than me waiting until Tuesday. I'm glad I listened to it... it was the pick me up I needed :).

People need to remember that it is not wrong to be listening to it from the Rolling Stone site. It is an officially sanctioned way of distributing the music before release. Rolling Stone would not be involved in anything not approved by the record company/artist. I think it'd s bit misleading to call this a "leak" as others on the site have.

Of course I understand the above poster wanting to wait to make it more special, and each to their own, but I just hope they're not doing it out of a seeming loyalty to Stevie and the record company, especially as Stevie has been so vocal in disliking the internet. That is not the case here. I hve 2 copies (amazon.com and Warners Fan Edition) on pre-order too!

I had to couldn't resist but will buying my copy at Barnes and Noble on Tuesday, and will stop by the liquor store and get some tequila and margarita mix and have a nice margarita listening to the cd with candles burning and radio cranked baby, I just so glad its out finally and it rocks.

No, I realize that this R/S stream is totally legit and as I said I am so happy for everyone that didn't want to wait any longer. It's just a personal choice to wait until I have the CD in hand :) Trust me, I am so tempted but I will wait and just read everyones thoughts and further build my excitement! Love reading the reviews and seeing everyone so thrilled! I hope Stevie gets her due props on this CD from radio and award shows.

im listening to it now. i tried to wait...but that lasted about 30 secs. lol.
and today is my partners bday so it was my gift to him to play it for him cause ive totally converted him into a chiffonhead!
i wont post any reviews or spoilers for the people who want to wait.
but i am loving it!
and i plan on buying it from itunes when its released and ill buy another hard copy or 2 in addition to the pre order....so no worries.

It might sound weird, but I'm picking and choosing what I'm exposing myself to before May 3rd. As soon as I got home from work yesterday, I brought up The Rolling Stone streams and went right for Moonlight, as it was my favourite on the album trailer and I simply could not wait to hear the finished version. I listened to bits and pieces of other songs too, but managed to stop myself from listening to the full tracks. And I am staying completely clear of the album info thread on here - I want the liner notes to be a complete surprise. So I'll still be falling in love with the album for the first time with you guys on the 3rd, but I needed to supply myself with a small fix. You guys have amazing strength for holding out, and it's incredibly admirable! Wish I had your willpower!

That's the reason I'm holding out too. I did listen to tracks 2 and 3, "For What's It Worth" and "IYD" but for me, there is nothing fun about sitting in front of the pc listening to music. I want to be in my car (my favorite place to enjoy music - when not VJing) therefore I'll wait until Tuesday or sooner if my CD copy from Warner arrivest first. But nothing wrong with hearing it from RS, I just want to be in my car :)

Ok.......So I broke down and listened to the stream. Let me preface this by saying I have be very critical of Stevie's work since RAL. I've been called on it a couple times on this board. I understood it..but stood by my guns.

Having said that.....In your dreams is easily the finest piece of work Stevie's done. There...I said it Ledgies. I must tell you, there is a passion in this album I have not heard ssince Bella Donna.

Some of my Highlights include.

For what it's Worth. I latched on to this one immediately. Beautiful Tune. I love her voice on this one.

Wide Sargasso Sea. This one flat out rocks. smiler in tone to Illume. Just WAY better. Great tune.

Annibel Lee. Just makes me smile.

Ghosts are gone. This one kicks ass. So rocking it shook my room.

Italian Summer. This one made me cry. When I heard the line, "Love was everywhere you just had to fall." I stopped the song, ripped my headphones off....and cried. I think because that lyric applied to my life....And my teenage years. The point is, no song has done that to me in ages:nod::nod:. I loved the whole album.....but those are some highlights.


anyway. I wanted to tell you guys.....Stevie's finally made an album that i've connected to. And I can't Wait till may 3rd.

4. Curled up on my sofa. (Do I go all out Stevie and light the fireplace with the air conditioning on max?) Candles alit.

I had listened to IYD on rollingstone.com a few times and LOVE it (before they took it off)! I had already pre-ordered it from Amazon Canada; then I discovered that I could order (from the American site) Warner Bros. the Limited Fan Edition with lithograph. I also have the pre-order Deluxe version on iTunes (so I can watch vid for "Secret Love" on my iPod Touch everywhere I go). So I think I'm entitled to listen to it online HA HA. Can't wait to have the CD in my hand tho & read the liner notes too :blob1:

Well it's been a long weekend and people keep emailing and texting me asking if I have caved and listened. I am being strong! I did go to the few record stores left to see if by chance they were selling early and no luck. Tomorrow night I will head out and pick it up at midnight and take a long drive with my x who is also a huge fan and waiting like me. It's been so awesome reading all the reviews further building the excitement.

I have been listening to everything Stevie all weekend with the exception of the new Beastie Boys CD which I got an early copy of (very good btw).

The mood is set and I am ready to rock!
