OK... I had to watch it, even though I'm at work. Absolutely wonderful!!! One of the best videos she's ever done IMO. Dave Stewart did an outstanding job as far as concept on this one. Totally captures Stevie...and I love Mick being in it, too. A+

Holy sh*t I'm speechless!! A true work of art and the creamy white outfit, *swoon*. The only thing I would say on the negative side is there's too much Dave in it but I know that's what Stevie wanted and what makes her happy so I'm totally fine with it. Kisses to my darling Stevie, you are nothing less that spectacular.

Agreed.
Too much Dave, but if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have all this new material.
Love her changing to fairy dust at the end. The costumes are amazing, too. Adore her lil hat she is wearing. <3

I'm not sure how I feel. It's nice, but didn't blow me away like the sizzle real did.
It just seems kind of...random. No real coherence to it. Shots of Stevie in front of a camera, shots of Stevie in the woods, shots of Mick recording his drum tracks, Dave standing in a white room, young little circus girls. What?
It's very pretty and visually appealing, though.

I love the ending, and though there might be "too much Dave", my favorite part is when he's pretending to fall, during the little bridge. And we have some air guitar action from Stevie ! Made my day. :)

Very theatrical, like the trailer. I can see many of the same touches he brought to Annie Lennox. It certainly captures the Stevie spirit. I especially liked that she has lots of movement, not just twirling or walking. Hands down, this beats the "Ever Day" video for me.

NO NO NO NO NO!!! This is totally NOT fair! Warners: Stevie - has fans in places OTHER THAN THE US!! She is PLAYING in the UK soon and releasing an WORLDWIDE! How are you supposed to publicise anything if you don't let EVERYONE see the video?!
What the **** is going on?!
Can someone please, please help me and any other European/UK Ledgies out and try and get a copy available somehow? Mediafire or anything? I've checked youtube ansd nothing so far. I hate having to rely on such unofficial measures, especially because I don't agree with listening to the leaked album before release, but what else are we meant to do? At least we know we're getting the actual album but this??

You need a PRoxy Server located in the US. Do a google search and try to find the server settings for a Proxy.
Try this..
1. Go to this website. http://extraproxies.info/
2. Paste "http://www.spinner.com/2011/04/26/st...ideo-premiere/"
3. Hit GO
4. Follow the instructions

Thank you very, very much for doing this. So I obtained the video in a way that Stevie would greatly disapprove of. Do I feel guilty? Hell no! These are the things that she needs to know about when next complaining about the internet - fans would use official sources if they were all able to, otherwise they will use other ways to access what is available to others - no fan is "worth" more than another.
Now to the video: It is WONDERFUL!! I love it. Full of beautiful images that are truly classic Stevie. It's incredibly well made. Just beautiful!

After seeing the video (thank you Fiver; you legend!) I think it's brilliant. They've certainly made the most of a limited budget. I never would have guessed it was Mick drumming on Secret Love, either.

I believe it's a fairy doll. Probably one of Stevies own too. I LOVED the video! I dug the 80s feel thrown in there a little when Stevie had the blue sparks coming out from behind hr. I did laugh though when the horse was looking in the mirror! The baton twirling was vintage Stevie!

I had such low expectations, but this is fantastic. It's not quite up there with 'Everyday' in terms of the quality of the cinematography, but I think I like it just as much. It's the perfect blend of Stevie magic and mysticism that very few of her videos tend to capture. Furthermore, she looks beautiful. I can't believe she's 62!

I'm with you Josh. Not blown away. The vid seems to have little to do with the song. And I agree with others - too much Mick & Dave. I've also never been a fan of that spastic/jerky movement effect in videos - it creeps me out.
Positives, before people bitch that all I do is complain. She looks gorgeous! The cream outfit is a nice change. The vid is different & unique, which is impressive for Stevie. After seeing the great video for "Secret Love," I'm more excited than ever to hear the CD. The single was certainly pretty good, but I think the video nails it. Very vintage, very Stevie, very fun to watch. This beats either video for TISL in my book. Plus, I really appreciate the creative cohesiveness that Dave seems to have brought to the entire project. I think it blends beautifully with Stevie's spirit and style. And I think the video rocks it a bit harder than the single does by itself.
Now, everyone post it on your Facebook wall and let's get this party started!

I agree with this guy. As a whole, it's a good video. Stevie looks great and the costumes are very pretty. But - there isn't really a story going on and maybe it's just me, but the camera pans are way too fast. When was the last time a Stevie video had a story? A long time! I think this one has a little bit of a story- something to do with that creepy director and his hallucations about young Stevie. Well, scratch that... it's more of a concept. But I do agree about the quick edits- it is highly annoying. And I think it's one thing to crowbar those solo shots of Dave into the video, but it's particularly jarring when his shots are stark black and white while the rest of the video is saturated with color. Other than that, I think this video suits the mood of the song really well, which I always thought had a bit of a spacey-vibe; the starlit blue backdrop is so perfect for this! I also think this is the first time we are receiving confirmation that Mick was indeed the drummer on this song, which makes it half-FM. It makes me wonder how it would sound if John and Lindsey added their parts while Dave produced. Would it have sounded like Fleetwood Mac? Would it sound any different from what we have now?

No, no, no . . . Warners thinks the US is merely the center of planet Earth. It was at one time, apparently, according to this old newspaper.
http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/churchill/interactive/_html/_items/wc0157.jpg
What was it? Continental Drift or something? Now the real center of the planet is Africa. At least according to this map:

How exciting, another new music video from Stevie! I was so surprised to see Mick!
I was confused, however, by the "younger Stevie." Why is she in the music video? She's no Stevie. If they were going for the nostalgic 70's era Stevie vibe, they could have incorporated some old video footage instead of representing her with some random brunette...

It might. She would have to squeeze into it with the help of a Boobclamp, corset, a little lipo etc.
I don't mean that outfit literally. One that color.
I watched it again - twice. Still too much Mick & Dave. Still too jerky & I'm not a fan of the backwards/rewind effect either. But it has a cool look. Water For Elephants just came out - I have a feeling that old time/depression-era circus look will be huge, so that's a good thing.

Also, the air guitar shot at 2:53 doubles as a cleavage shot :p.

I do love the white and gold outfit but I am not a fan of the hat. Hats never seem to fit her right. It always looks like she's holding her head in a stiff way to keep her hat in place.

It's Stevie's goddaughter, I think.
They could have thrown a blonde shaggy wig on her though !
I have to admit, I was laughing at some of the video because Stevie's just so cute trying to convey the song :) This was a nice departure from the more typical 'stand in front of old microphone and sing like you're at a concert' videos... it was really cute :) And totally Stevie. Loved her turning into fairy dust at the end!

For those of you watching on youtube and not able to view the link, here's Stevie's explanation:
"Sparkly and eerie and kinda creepy" is how Stevie Nicks describes her video for 'Secret Love,' the first single from her first solo album in 10 years, 'In Your Dreams,' due out May 3. It features younger and older versions of Stevie Nicks, a white horse, a sinister photographer and ghostly appearances and disappearances -- clearly the singer who calls her publishing company Welsh Witch is back and in good form.
The song itself, about a fraught, clandestine love affair, was written in the mid-'70s, at a time when Nicks had just broken up with fellow Fleetwood Mac singer Lindsey Buckingham. "I have really tried to remember who it was about," Nicks tells Spinner, "but at the end of 1975, the world was spinning around us so fast, and we were meeting people every other day. There were gorgeous men and gorgeous women everywhere. We were fast and beautiful and crazy."
Nicks recorded a demo at the time, but filed it away without revisiting it until last year. "It must have been secret because I wrote it, recorded it and put it in a box," she muses. "The words are kind of odd."
The video, too, is out of the ordinary.
'Secret Love' was filmed in Nicks' house and backyard during the recording of 'In Your Dreams,' and helmed by Eurythmics guitarist Dave Stewart, who co-produced the album. Nicks' goddaughter, Kelly, makes an appearance, wearing a vintage dress that Nicks wore onstage in 1976.
"I wanted to make it like my younger 25-year-old spirit blending with my 62-year-old spirit," she offers. "Sometimes your young self, when you look back, is not very much different than your older self." Indeed, despite the song's older genesis, 'Secret Love' perfectly fits Nicks' shiny new sound.
"We worked really hard on it," Nicks says, "and I just hope that people love it, because I really love it."

So in love with this video!! I mean it's not brilliant or cutting-edge imho, but it's so Stevie Nicksian to me. The bursts of color, the fairy, the twirls, the outfits and the kooky imagery all made me grin ear to ear. It really excited me to see this more than any other Stevie video, except Gypsy, but that's Mac. She looks so incredibly beautiful and happy and I don't mind seeing Dave at all. Mick's presence in this is cool too. He rocks.

That was amazing. She totally killed it. I died watching it. I love how animated she was. Her gestures didn't seem over rehearsed to me. I think she came across as totally youthful. Perhaps this COULD be the year of Stevie Nicks... The record comes out, blows up, and I can tell all the people who've made fun of me for obsessing over Stevie throughout the years, "Told you so."

This is going to sound bad, but why is Mick in this? Was he just in LA when they were shooting so they threw him a hat and a drum and said have fun? I mean it's good to see him, but to me there is just no context for him unless we are going for the literal interpretation of showcasing secret loves of her past. Oh well...whatever, he looked like he was in his element and having fun.
But even with that, I really liked the whole eerie, spiritual feeling evoked from it. I'm so stoked to hear more. Can't wait!!!:blob1:

OMG.....wat a great video. Yes there is the jerky camera (which I am not a fan of usually) and a lot of fast cuts, but OMG the video is so Stevie mystical, welsh witch sh.t... I think Dave did a fantastic job on what I assume was a not so big budget. Dave and Mick are there, but so what? It's definately all about her. I like the white background with Dave. I was reading all the posts at work this afternoon and was getting a bit nervous, but this video to me really shows off the true magical, witchy Stevie that the Everyday and Sorcerer vids did not. I think the ending made sense before. Basically halfway through the song or so there's that musical build-up, and it's repeated at the end to end the song. It's actually a very well-constructed Nicks song, which is probably why Ballard referred to it as a "gem".

I like that Mick is in it - I like his cameo appearances in the I Can't Wait and If Anyone Falls videos too. I also like how this video kinda blends the beauty (and glitter) of the Gypsy forest, and the real Stevie/younger Stevie of the Talk to Me video. I'd love to hear Stevie's commentary on this video too..."Well, THIS horse did NOT try to kill me."

. The camera man is cool too. I think I saw him dressed as Edgar Allen Poe in the IYD preview?
I think the camera man is rather cute, in an unconventional sort of way. Does anyone know this actor is? His name?

Eventhough Dave and Mick are in it, I feel that this video embraces Stevie more than any other video. They really went with magic and atmosphere.

I like it because of it's mysticalness (yes I know that's not a word). A tad too much Dave Stewart, but I appreciate all he's done for Stevie, so I'll tolerate it. I also wish it actually told a story. BUT, I'm just so happy there's finally something new! If the whole video was just her staring into the camera doing nothing, I'd still probably love it.

After watching it a few times, I'm still not blown away by it like most people here are...which surprises me, because I like to think that I'm somewhat of a good judge of what is and is not good Stevie work
I will say that I rather HATE that Mick is in it. Over the past ten+ years, he's come off as nothing but a money-hungry opportunist (wine, instructional golf videos, drum loop CDs, side bands, restaurants, etc). So to see his face show up, again, out of the blue, is a bit off putting.
And as Paula said previously, those shots of Dave in black on the white background are just so jarring against the beautiful, colorful palate of the rest of the video.
So final thoughts: cut Mick out completely, and limit Dave to just minor cameos...and I'll be a lot happier with it.

I totally get what you're saying about Mick, and admit that really, it's true.
However, he's got some sort of a puppy dog quality about him that makes it entirely impossible for me to feel any bad feelings towards him, rather I was quite amused with his appearance :) I'd much rather have seen Mick than Dave.

Love it! She looks awesome in the cream dress, she should wear that color more often. A little too much Dave and Mick but who cares?! It's a new Stevie video and she nailed it! Way to go!

I really think this is her best video in years. It totally draws you into this other world. And at 41 I've been having a lot of retrospection in the past year or so and I just love the images of her older self and younger self dancing together. I know exactly what that's all about. I see my younger self in so many things these days, almost like catching glimpses of him in windows and mirrors. And that scene where the two of them are twirling together backwards, it reminds me of the Black Lodge in Twin Peaks. Very very cool.

And I've said this before but I think it bears repeating. I love how at the end of last verse when she sings "my secret love secretly dies" it sounds exactly like the demo. So many times when a demo becomes a full song it changes so much it doesn't even resemble the demo anymore, but it's like they wanted to give that little wink to the fans who loved the demo for all these years. Or perhaps Dave just saw how beautiful the demo was in it's simplicity and wanted to preserve a magical moment of it. Just stunning.

I'm 41 too. I'll be 42 the 28th of this month. I agree. This video, although it doesn't makes sense, is terrific. It's mystical, vibrant and enchanting. I don't even really notice Mick or Dave that much. Stevie steals the show. And I like the way she dresses in this video. That beige hat and dress looks great. She looks like some type of fancy maiden.

Amen.
Mick looks silly and half dead with that little drum, and I-Love-Myself-Dave is everywhere, as usual.
And please, take that silly hat off, the one she wears with the cream dress, and limit her embarrasing theatrical gestures...
Though I love some scenes, I really don't like this video.:(

Pretty much agree with what most others have said here. The white background shots of Dave don't flow well with the rest of the shots. What's up with that crown thingy on her head when she's in the cream dress? I kinda like it, but can't tell exactly what it is. I don't think I've seen her wear that before. I like a lot of the hats & head gear she's worn in recent years, but that goofy hat in the album trailer when she says "My name is Stevie Nicks" makes her look like Mary Poppins, sorry, I can't help but laugh everytime I see it. I'm still more interested in the Italian Summer & Moonlight videos tho. I kinda lost momentum for this song a while back when the video was supposed to be out in "the next 2 weeks" but never surfaced. But, I do like a lot of the effects & think she looks fantabulous in it. :D

I LOVE this video! Secret Love in a visual context puts a whole other feel on the song. I haven't stopped playing it all day. Nothing bothers me about this video, sh!ts all over Every Day IMO. It's got me really excited now about seeing Moonlight ...
To me the most important thing is that Stevie is happy and having fun, and between CTF & SL it sure looks like she is

The whole thing is a little over the top and silly, but I love it. Super cute. I agree that Stevie looks like she is really enjoying herself with the glitter, the costumes and the gestures. This whole project feels like a labour of love for Stevie, and at this point in her career I don't think we can ask for much more.

The outfit that Stevie said hadn't been worn since 1976, I think is actually from the Tusk tour which would be 1979, but we know how Stevie's memory can be. Or it could be my mistake. I got to see this last night and am really blown away. I dig the whole eary 1900's circus theme. I love her cream outfit and the little cap she is wearing. Reminds me of The Borgias. Surprised to see Mick there too. Who are the girls again? Is one of them Glenn Parrish's daughter?

Well VH1 is kinda-sorta promoting on Jump Start - the part where they show "Upcoming Releases" and they have Stevie Nicks under the Beastie Boys in the list...I think there was about 5 artists listed.
I haven't seen the vid played on vh1 itself yet though...but I'm sure they will very soon (or they may have already and I'm just missing it)

She's rather elusive in this video. There aren't really a lot of good close-up shots of her singing. Maybe this is why?
On an un-related note, I keep trying to pay attention to what the "younger Stevie" is wearing in the vid, but my eye just keeps following the real Stevie. She eats up every shot she's in. She looks fantastic!

Dude- its a UNICORN!
It was just born without a horn - birth defect.

Stevie always had a soft spot in her heart for special needs animals. :)
I can't find a picture of Stevie wearing the green Rhiannon dress the girl is wearing in the video, I think it's one of the many variations she didn't wear that often (unlike the black/red/burgundy/purple versions)
Do you think she actually did wear it? It looks identical to the black one fromt he Rumours cover.
I know this sounds corny, but that ending makes me sad for some reason. It's one thing for her to slowly fade away, but there is something almost tragic about the way she dissipates into gold dust, almost as if she is struggling to stay among the living; but the Gold Dust Gods want her for themselves! :distress:
She bascially explodes. :( I know what you mean.
Can some awesome person make .gifs of her baton twirling, regular twirling, and her poofing at the end?
I have to say that at first I thought it was a young actress twirling - then I paused it & saw that it IS Stevie.
And as Paula said previously, those shots of Dave in black on the white background are just so jarring against the beautiful, colorful palate of the rest of the video.

Well, I really like the video overall. Very Stevie. I think Dave did a good job of capturing the ambiance of Stevie in the video. I loved the cameraman angle of the video. It reminds of the "Bram Stoker's Dracula". I agree with others who have said that the white background shots of Dave do not fit with the rest of the video, and I find having Mick in the video very distracting. In fact, the black & white shots of him playing drums really hurts the overall mood. But, it's just wonderful to get this video and It's a great time to be a Stevie fan. I'm getting a strong sense of deja vu.......taking me back to when TISL first came out. Oh, and I love that ending.

I must be alone in not liking the white outfit. With that hat she looks like a milkmaid or something . I like the video overall, though. It's very Stevie.
I'm not feeling the white outfit/hat, either. The hat looks so tiny perched on her mane of hair.
Anyway, I really like the video. I'm not bothered so much by Mick and Dave as I am all the choppy cuts. Visually, though, it's stunning. I LOVE the very brief clip of her baton twirling. She looks smoldering there.
