If it leaks, will you listen?

Being that there' s only 8 days left before the May 3rd release, the probability of a leak of IYD increases - Especially with the German 4/29 mp3 release.

So, if it leaks, will you listen and/ or download? As for me, part of me thinks I won't, cuz I've already waited this long. On the other hand, if I see that it leaked I may not be able to help myself but listen.

So what will you guys do if it leaks??

well I just bought a pre-order on itunes of the deluxe edition...

I think I'd rather let the suspense kill me...

I dunno it's kinda like opening all your christmas presents a week before christmas...and then by the time christmas comes you have nothing to be excited about.

I think I can handle another week before the album release.

Yes. I wasn't going to originally, but when I placed my "pre-order" for the deluxe edition at Barnes and Noble, I assumed it was going to be shipped in time to arrive at my home on or before May 3. As it turns out, the e-mail confirmation of my order stated that it would be shipping on May 3. :mad: There is no way in heck I'm going to sit around waiting another week longer to listen to this. B&N should have made it abundantly clear that this would not ship until the actual release date.

I don't think I could not listen knowing it was out there, but then I am quite busy leading up until May 3rd, so maybe I might not. It's a case of patience vs. curiosity, let's see which one ultimately wins out.

Apparently for WBR it is because they have not released them yet. I'm wondering why they haven't been streaming previews yet for each song...it's getting to the point where I'm checking Amazon once an hour!

We've made it this long, and I think I was somewhat let-down with the day-of purchase of TISL because I had listened to so much of the leaked tracks ahead of time. I can't remember how much of SYW I listened to.

But I am looking forward to sitting in my living room, taking it all in in one piece for the first time.

No, I am doing the IYD countdown. I am hoping that there are no leaks before Friday's European release . Without a doubt it will be leaked after that. Other than my countdown, I will be away from the Ledge until next Tuesday when we go to Best Buy with my Christmas gift card that I got from Holly( former Ledgie) and buy it. Best Buy better have it.

I would normally refrain, but considering I'm traveling to the Webster Hall concert arriving in New York May 2nd, and will have to pick up IYD in NY somewhere May 3rd (unless I download on Itunes), listening during some point at my hotel on my computer, even if it's with good headphones, is not exactly ideal:cool:. This is a small price to pay to see this special event, but nonetheless that being said, I would most definitely listen to a leak - but only if its the whole album, I don't want IYD in bits and pieces. I have pre-ordered the fan edition through WB, and will also be purchasing the regular edition, and probably due to circumstance even the Itunes version. So I feel no catholic guilt in saying, without a doubt, I will listen happily so :shrug:

I really want the whole experience next week. The release of the CD (and, if it doesn't come "on time,") the whole experience of going to the store and picking it up....locking myself upstairs and putting it in the player...reading every lyric...

and then, a few days later, seeing her do it all (ha!) live!

Oh, that part doesn't bother me at all. I figure, if I'm buying copies for myself and others (who probably won't even crack the cellophane), I can listen ahead of time. But, I just got the date stuck in my head and it's all sort of tied together with the Borgata date and I just want to make it more of an "event." You know, see the whole packaging, with the lyrics printed out and all that stuff. It's the way I first "caught up" with all of Stevie's (and Lindsey's and FM's music). One CD at a time, reading lyrics along with listening.

And, truth be told, I listened to just about every demo that was out there. Some (Nightmare, anyone?) I wish I had never heard but...I listened to all wonderful and semi-torturous versions. Without a stitch of guilt, too;-)

Id listen to moonlight. Its the only one I care about. I don't care if the others are. "Rocking" or "rockin" or "rawk " or if she "rocks" or if there "sassy" or too long or to short or "commercial" or not commercial or too many ballads or self indulgent, or if her voice sounds like this or that, or if Dave's production is this or that, or if there's lotts of waddy. Or lots of Mike or features Mr. Freeking Buckingham, or cover pics have bubbles or don't have bubbles, or are photoshoped or not. Or have hoarses or glen Ballard this or that. Okay, I decided I WILL listen to leaks if they happen. I was able to justify this ( to myself) by remembering that this was SUPPOSED to be released on March 1st, then WB delayed it of course to send Stevie on the Heart and Soul cash grab. Meanwhile, I had already started looking forward to March 1st.
I still plan on buying the cd on May 3, and already pre-ordered the Barnes and Noble one with the extra track.

Also, I already got to listen to 8 of them with Stevie's permission back in february . She was willing to play 4 more too, but time ran out. So I actually think I have Stevies permission to listen to leaks! :)

Of course I'll listen when it leaks. Living in the UK, if I played by the rules, I'd have to wait until July anyway, or import. I'm gonna buy the CD when it comes out (and download a copy from iTunes) anyway, so it's not like it'll negatively impact on Stevie :thumbsup:

I had every intention of waiting until release date until I found out that it was going to be JULY. I've preordered the album but have no idea when it will arrive.
So to hell with that. When the entire album was streamed on Rolling Stone, legitimately, I listened guilt-free and was so, so happy I did. :) Had it been only a few tracks or from an unofficial source, I don't think I would have. I've gotten very angsty about illegal downloading in my old age. :p
