I think Stevie visiting the Glee set was a great PR move for her on all levels, I've read somewhere that she's the only huge star to actually go visit them in person. It'll be a huge boost for IYD if they air the promo for the CD on the same day Glee does Rumours.

That was brillant on her part. Talking about paying off! She visits the set and a few months later Rumours is showcased on one of the top TV shows the day her CD is released. If Reprise does not capitalize on this and air a commerical for her CD during the show, it will confirm their marketing department is full of a bunch of idiots!

Exactly! Do I think it was a coincidence that Stevie shows up on Glee, and a few weeks later, an episode revolving around her best-selling album with Fleetwood Mac is announced? I think she knows how to charm the right people, does our Stevie. ;)

There has been lots of promotion for Stevie Nicks. This will be her second time on Glee. They did Lanslide. She was on Oprah and in her magzine and on Ellen.

This is a great idea, but a commercial is unlikely. Air time during Glee is probably one of the most expensive slots for advertising on TV right now.
BUT - I'm right with you and hoping they play a kickass commerical for In Your Dreams, maybe they'll even premier the Secret Love video during the episode, or maybe the cast will do a Stevie video remake like they did for Vogue during the Madonna episode.

Strangely NONE of this promotion seems to be from Warner Brothers except her Ellen appearance. Great promotion, but we could have even more amazing promotion if WB did their damn job.

It seems like Stevie is really fighting for this record, which impresses me greatly. It's almost as if she knows she can't exactly depend on the label and is doing her best to pull as many strings as she can to find 'In Your Dreams' as big an audience as she can. What kind of numbers does 'Glee' typically pull? Is this a big show or a major show in terms of audience?

Right! The fans were responsible for getting Stevie on Oprah and WB couldn't even be bothered to run an ad for IYD during the commercial break.

Well, they did have the pre-order. My concern is if they didn't get the video on VH1 because VH1 wouldn't play it or something. Half the promotion is their responsible and half is hers. She has more than done her part. Actually, Fleetwood Mac should be thanking Stevie. She is the one that tries to keep them relevant. Lindsey just sets in dream world. She busts her butt and really fights.
The promotion for tisl through VH1 was a lot better. That pre-order was heavily advertised.

They have done the preorder, but have failed miserably in promoting the preorder. They had to restart her Twitter and Facebook accounts several times, and they have had to back track on some of their posts because they ended up not being right. When they initially started the preorder, people were not getting their downloads and they were charging $13.99 instead of the advertised 12.99. Warners Bros has done some work, but they have done a god awful job at it.

How much would a 30 second spot on Glee cost? I think if a spot was $100,000 and it only brings in $50,000 it would be worth the gamble. I think boosting sales in any way possible is very important. Then again putting any commercial on Glee may look tacky. Putting the whole sizzle reel would be cool, but I don't see that happening.

May 3rd will probably mark the second time I've watched "Glee.'' I just do not like it. The only other time I watched it was the one where they sang "Dog Days Are Over" because I thought I'd give it the light of day, & it was so horrible I didn't even watch the Landslide episode, but I simply cannot miss the Rumours episode now.
Stevie is getting lots of love all over the place this year. If they air the 'In Your Dreams' trailer during the episode, I will **** myself, because you know everyone is gonna be all over that!

So glad they are doing I Don't Wanna Know. No one ever talks about that song, but it brought great energy to Rumours. It's also a song that reminds me of Grease. It could of been on that soundtrack. I knew Glee would do that one. It's young and fresh. I bet Songbird steals the show though. It's just one of those ballads.

The songs leaked. Listened to them all, they're all pretty faithful, but the real life actress who's singing Songbird fails horribly, imo.

First Listen! All The Tracks From Next Week's Stevie Nicks-Inspired Glee!
Filed under: Music Minute > Kristin Chenoweth > Stevie Nicks > Glee > Lea Michele > Matthew Morrison
One full hour, nothing but Stevie Nicks. Let that sentence sink in…
Oh why oh why couldn't this be the 90 minute episode???
We're going to tell you right now, whether you were a Stevie and Fleetwood Mac lover before this or not, you are going to simply adore the music next week on Glee. If they pull this off the way we think they are going to pull this off, this might end up being one of our favorite episodes to date! Just listening to the music is giving us the chills!!!
For the first time in the show's history, Glee will perform songs from a singular album. In this case, it will be Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, one of the best albums ever recorded in all of musical time. (Ok, we might be a tinsy bit elated about this!)
We have ALL the songs for you here and you should listen to ALL of them! We'd tell you which is our favorite, but we can't - it's like picking a favorite child. We can't! WE JUST CAN'T!!!
Calming down…
Anyway, first have a listen to Kristin Chenoweth belt out a divine rendition of Dreams with Matthew Morrison in the video (above). Then, click the jump to hear Kevin McHale sing Never Going Back, Cory Monteith and Dianna Agron singing Don't Wanna Know, Naya Rivera singing Songbird, the New Directions performing Don't Stop and, hold your breath, Lea Michele singing Go Your Own Way.
Enjoy Gleeks! Let your ears bask in this melodic heaven!

I wish Perez Hilton had actually said that it is a Fleetwood Mac episode. Rumours is not a Stevie Nicks album. Go Your Own Way and Never Going Back Again? Ummmm... Lindsey!!

When Kristen sings "It's only me who wants to wrap around your dreams" I can't help but be reminded of Lucy Lawless singing "It's only a flour tortilla, used to wrap around your meat now."

Just like karaoke versions. Would have been cool if they would have tried something new with the songs, like they used to before all the show cared about was Kurt and making $$$$.

So far, they all sound great to me.
I love that Kristin Chenoweth is singing Dreams. PERFECT!
And I also love that they're doing I Don't Want to Know. That song doesn't get enough love.

Well. Huh.
I'm not sure how I feel about these. I'm very iffy on cover versions in general, so it's nothing against Glee or anything. They're not bad, just...different.
God, Songbird made me cringe though. It wasn't horrible, it's just that to me that is one song that should not be touched. In my opinion, it's the most gorgeous song on the face of the planet and it should be performed by Chris and only Chris. Anything else just seems wrong.
Oh well. I've never watched Glee before but I'm going to watch the episode anyhow to see what they do. Maybe I'll warm up to them if I listen to them again.

I am sorry, but they sound awful. There is absolutely no emotion in any of the songs. Technically, all of them sound decent, but their singing sounds like bad acting. That is exactly the problem of music today. The only positive thing about this show is that they may motivate the younger audience to check out some really great old music. I'll be watching this episode just because of Fleetwood Mac.

I think Stevie visiting the Glee set was a great PR move for her on all levels, I've read somewhere that she's the only huge star to actually go visit them in person. It'll be a huge boost for IYD if they air the promo for the CD on the same day Glee does Rumours. I think it was a great PR move too! She is a smart lady!:) Cant'wait for the episode!

I couldn't listen to more than 30 seconds of any of those songs. I only managed to listen to half of Dreams which is probably why it was the worst for me. Don't Stop and IDWTK come close second.

I just heard the songs they are gonna do next week on Glee. They are very well done. Especially "Don't Stop." It's Glee so it's very Broadway, which I have no problem with as long it's done right. Maybe this is a step closer to the Rumours musical.
The worst interpretation I have ever heard of Rumours was like 10 years ago in a department store. Rumours on Musak..puke. :distress:
This will be a great way to promote IYD if they show a freaking promo ad.

They were doing ads for this bad boy of an episode like once or twice that I saw during American Idol. If they show a Stevie commercial it could be HUGE exposure for her, considering the songs from the episode, along with her album, will both be available on iTunes come Tuesday.
Speaking of the episode, E! Online posted a clip of Go Your Own Way (an actual video clip, not audio.)

Rumor (Ha! Wasn't trying to be funny there) has it that those two will be hooking back up, hence the attempted Stevie/Lindsey type staring/glaring/watching during her perfomance. LOL Atleast they're putting little nods in there.

My bf watches this show religiously, so I see it whether I want to or not. They usually work the songs into the storyline & the ending is the group song they've rehearsed throughout the show, which I imagine will be "Don't Stop" since it's listed as being sung by the New Directions, which is the name of the Glee club. But usually, they'll be in the middle of a situation that relates to a song & just burst into song & use the lyrics to express what would've normally just been spoken script lines. I'm excited about this episode because whether I like it or not, I have been sucked into all the story lines between all the characters of the show, since I'm forced to watch it every week, so at least now there will be some FM/Stevie music to make it more enjoyable.

The show was great.some parts were boring .but the overall FM covers were great.
Can't help but think that Stevie's visit to the set and her supportive words of Glee helped get this episode to air. Coincidence that it aired on the day her new album dropped? I think not! Even if it doesn't boost her own cd, which I think it will, it will certainly boost Rumours and expose a lot more people to Stevie Nicks and FM. That's what I call GOOD KARMA! :)

Glee' Spreads Fleetwood Mac's 'Rumours' With Plenty of Drama
Stevie Nicks might be having the best week ever. Not only is she wowing fans with her first album in 10 years ("In Your Dreams," released yesterday), but Nicks has the potential reach younger fans via -- surprisingly -- last night's episode of "Glee."
The New Directions took on Fleetwood Mac's 1977 classic album "Rumours," fueled by a gossip-filled plotline of love triangles within the singing group. The back-story may work better than the actual effort, with Fleetwood Mac having more to gain than "Glee." But, there were musical high points throughout the episode, regardless if many of "Glee's" younger fans were less-than familiar with the songs.
The boys -- specifically, Artie -- shined this week with "Never Going Back Again," which was the episode's musical highlight despite the song being lesser-known than other Mac singles performed. Watch below.
The episode also marked the return of April Rhodes (Kristin Chenoweth), who performed a stellar, chemistry-filled duet of "Dreams" with Mr. Schuester. (Sidenote: What is going on with April and Schue? Is there still hope for "Wemma"?) Watch below.
And what would "Glee" be without a cheesy, feel-good number for the whole cast? Is "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" the new "Don't Stop Believin'"? Probably not... but there are little kids so extra points for cuteness.
