As most of you know, Billboard Pop Songs is about the most played pop radio stations in the US in a full week. It recieves daily updates, and the Sunday updates are the OFFICIAL CHARTS.
The chart is counted on Billboard Hot 100 which is the biggest and most important single chart in the world.
What I was thinking we, the fans, should do to help, is get Stevie as high on that chart as possible! Spread the word, give her a nod of appreciation after a long 10 year wait.
How can you help with the song? It's EASY! Just go to each one of these links and scroll to the box at the bottom.
How can you help the song ???
Very easy, all you need is to do is go to these links below and request the songs on some important stations. Only open one link at a time, or it will not work. You can re-request on each station every hour.
Where it says Don't see your song above? Type it in here!, near the bottom of the page, type in "Stevie Nicks - Secret Love".
You do not need to fill in the address, email etc. boxes. The only other required field is your Name.
Also, MAKE SURE to fill in the confirmation code at the bottom of each page. I know those are tedious. But the benefits will pay off in the long run!

Let's make sure to spread this to other Stevie sites as well!!! The more people who put in an input, the better chances we have of the single charting! We will make Stevie one Happy Helen by doing this. Just to show her she is still relevent in music today!
I just filled all mine in for each site, so have to wait about an hour before I can do it again.
The more often we request this this week, the higher Secret Love will chart by next Sunday!
So, who's in?

I'll forever be grateful to this lady since I was, after all... named after one of her songs. Okay (Lilyana), sort of?

That's strange. I copied and pasted those links from an Avril Lavigne fansite and they work fine on there. Hold on, let me see...
EDIT!!! I figured out why the links are dead. Give me 5 minutes :)
EDIT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!
The links are working now!

Is this song really what they are counting on? They gave away the song with purchase and still there is no video. Was this song just a gesture? No one mentions it as their favorite.

No one mentioned "Cheaper than Free" either and they've put that out there too..though not(yet?) as a single..I'm hoping that the reason that they are being so tight with the other songs is that they are the real surprise.I'm still hoping that the title track is strong single material and drops when the album does.

Well, it is advertised as the lead single off the album, whether given to us free or not.

I'm in! I'm on my phone right now but tonight on the home computer for sure
who cares if it is the lead single or promo single or free single or whatever it is a decent song and deserves a chance. If the other stuff is better great but that has nothing to do with whether or not we could show this single our support also.

Seems like too much work. After all of the polls, sign ups, etc. we have done on a grassroots level, I think at this point I will leave it to Warner Brother's....but good luck!
Hell..Lori and Sharon could get on their laptops or ipods and start filling out fields...:D

Doing one of her old songs isn't going to help her new album chart.
This project is for helping get her new album some cred, so she's motivated to keep making music
Just starting round 2. Ill check out all the links again to see if they're working
EDIT:
All the links worked fine for me. :)
C'mon guys let's show some fan spirit around here! It doesn't take that long. Just put your favorite Sara demo on and click away !
There have already been 275 people who've looked into this thread. And 16 stations to vote from. If we all did all of them at least once, we would already have had 4400 votes for Secret Love! It's not that hard to do.

Audience impressions and response are incredibly important for radio stations when determining playlists and deciding how many spins a single will receive during a specific period of time (day/week/weekend). It's very old fashioned, but calling/emailing radio stations to request "Secret Love" - and purchasing it on iTunes - are the best ways to motivate chart growth. Some stations also have feedback and polls on their dedicated websites.
Streaming activity data from online music sources is now included in Billboard's formula, so seek those out as well and provide feedback if allowed. Radio programmers take note of what others are playing as well as noted increases in spins. It's all very follow the leader. Young people tend to offer more feedback on the performers they like and discuss them on chat boards which is one why Britney, Katy Perry, Gaga, etc. overwhelm radio, etc.

Thanks for your input and knowledge! :)
And guys, this DOES work. I'm part of an Avril Lavigne forum, and we managed to get her song from somewhere in the top 20 last week to #8 this week, and that was only from 2 days of requesting. If we have all week with all us fans requesting as much as we can, we could get Secret Love to chart easily!!

The problem with top 40 radio these days is all the crap tunes take over the airplay list and people like Stevie and other seasoned artists will not get any airplay.I remember 2003 when FM 's "Say You Will' was on the radio.it last not even a month of airplay. On the other hand .If "Cheaper Then Free" gets promoted on country radio. In which Stevie will have a better chance to do better then the top 40 charts. That will give people like her friend Taylor Swift a break from been number one all the time. Now if Stevie cuts a cd like Lady Gaga,Katy Perry,Rihanna ,Cee Lo Green or a mad rap hip hop cd ,she will march up to the top of the charts and blow them away.

I understand what you're saying, so that's why we need to REQUEST into these top 40 stations. They WILL play it if they get requested ENOUGH times.
I feel like some people are missing the point of this...

So excited how so many people are willing to help out! We could be makin Stevie history right now.
Its like, if we could get her up in the charts - it's like sticking it to all the hip hop and crap that dominates the waves today.
Who knows, maybe this will be the breath of fresh air that could get music back on track. Doubtful, but hey - what the hell?
Another thing, when a lead single charts well - it makes it a lot more easier for the following singles on the album to get more airplay - because there's already recognition. So, if Secret Love does moderate on the charts (steadily), we have a better chance of getting more singles out of it!! Maybe Cheaper Than Free will be single #2.

Looking at the charts and such... There is actually a likely chance for Stevie to hit #2 or 3 on the album charts for the first week... Fleet Foxes looks to be the only other big album up for release that week... That should give the album some pretty good buzz...Lets hope Gaga's album doesn't leak and get a release that week, though...

Those radio stations request hot lists that show when we're doing this is an absolute indictment on modern society and musical taste. I don't care how old I sound, Ke$ha et al have zero musical talent. But not just the fringe artists, most of them on the lists.. It's truly saddening to read.
All the more reason to vote Mama in, I guess :)

That's not going to happen. If that's the kind of radio stations you're going for, you're wasting your time.
Try stations that play a mixture of hit's from the 70, 80, 90's & now like The Eagles, Chicago, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Journey....
Those formats!:)

Radio stations like classic rock stations WPLR, 99 Rock ,River formatted stations Like River 105.9 FM which is WHCN in my area.,StarFM stations like Star99.9 in my area.Lite rock station might play the tune which are WRCH 100.5FM,plus WEBE 107.9 FM plus WTIC 96.5 FM ..I know top 40 station Which are WKCI 101.3 FM,WKSS 95.7 FM,WZMX 93.7 FM might not ,or play a very little of the tune. If none at all.I agree with Heartboy on that.

Well, if they're going by requests and getting feedback - then yes we have a great chance.
The way I look at it, is look how well Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" is doing right now - and it's nothing like anything on the radio today.
There's still a very good chance :)
Even if it doesn't get a lot of airplay from doing this, it will still raise it in the charts.

Well get some fan spirit dude. It'd be so exciting if we could get this song to chart, unlike all the other veteran's who's albums go unnoticed. If a fanbase is strong enough, like I KNOW Stevie's is, we can succeed in this.
These stations don't *just* play R&B and hip hop etc. The way they work, is the more votes a song gets-the higher it charts-the more likely it will get airplay. It doesn't matter who it is - it matters how loyal the fanbase is.
Yes, an AC station would be more likely to play a new Stevie song, but that's not going to get it to chart - it's not going to open it up to a new audience.
That Ceelo Green is doing very well with "Forget You" and Adele with "Rolling in the Deep". Secret Love has potential, and it has a chance, as long as the fanbase is enthusiastic about it and not pessemistic.
If you don't agree with me, than fine, but that's no reason for you having to waste your time - and mine - with bringing negative energy to something fans are trying to do in a positive manner. Granted, this is a free board and anyone can post whatever they want - but that's still no reason to be pessimistic about it.
I know what I'm talking about, I know how this works, and I know it may seem farfetched - but it's a lot more realistic than I feel some people around here think it to be.

Happens everyday on my iPod.
And it could happen on the the radio. Secret Love isn't that old fashioned of a track, and if age is a concern, Madonna has had hits at 50. The major problem is that my generation have no clue who Stevie is for the most part. Making sure they know who she is would be a good step. Which is why having tracks on Youtube, and such is a good thing.
If one more person says "Yeah I known one of HIS songs" I'm going to crazy.

Exactly. I don't know why people believe this to be so far fetched. Secret love is a good sounding song and it sounds good in between a lot of different songs even new ones I have a mixed cd that I listen to in the car that has Kelly clarksons "already gone" Then Stevie's "secret love" then Katy Perry's "teenage dream" and they all sound.
