If you're having trouble playing the video, let it play without sound for 10 seconds or so, grab that little "thingy" that moves along from left-to-right at the bottom of the video player, move it all the way back to the left and let go.
Little trick that works for me sometimes (as it did here).

I somehow ended up getting it to work.

And I have to say...it sounded sort of bland to me. The audience videos that have popped up on YouTube from the tour seem to have more life to them.

LOL, that's so funny and a little annoying how she's not enunciating. Let's hope she doesn't decide to put "I Can't Wait" back into the setlist.

I did love the performance and think it's such great exposure for her. She rocked it!

Yes, I was thinking the same thing earlier today when I was playing the Cheaper Than Free video. She almost has this scowl on her face when she's not smiling. I think her jowls kinda collect around her chin too when she's not smiling. But when she does start grinning again, she looks so incredibly young and radiant!

My Notes:

01:00 - "search" pantomime
01:36-1:42 - badazz!
01:43 - "cawwn't"
01:54-02:03 - trippy and cool yay hot
02:06 - stevie brings "salvation" BACK! (to the song)
02:18-02:22 - "wooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrk" -- HOT!
02:27 - "price" pantomime
02:29 - "rest" pantomime
02:40 - "listen" pantomime
02:50 - her eyes!!
03:18 - "aaaahuuuuh!" - hot!!!
03:22 - she does her own "shhhhhh" noise!!!!!! hot!
03:25-03:29 - What moves more history than the River Nile? Your smile!

I've noticed this too. It's been biggest difference in her performances. Everything seems over rehearsed now. Back in the day she sang live from a passionate place, now it feels somehow fake to me. But I suppose once women get into the later years, their voices loose a lot of range, so I'm guessing thats the reason behind the change.

NO. The difference. is she's now SOBER. It's 1 thing to be in front of 1ke'd00,000 people. Coke'd Up or on tranquilizers. It would be quite another to be Completely aware of how many eyes are on you JUST SAYIN

She has to rehearse. She is 62 years old, she needs to control her voice. It's not easy for her. She could hurt herself on stage.

you know what i would love is if just one time she took the mic off the stand and walked around. that would be awesome!! i wish she would just put a pair of flats on and move around more. i didnt really notice how much she doesnt move around until i saw some clips of her and rod. rod is all over the place. i love that!

eh, I still disagree. You can be sober and still sing with passion. She's definately gone more technical with her performances. And I suppose she DOES still sing them with passion, just not the "crazy, i'm going to put every ounce of my being into this song" passion. It just hits me as overly technical and rehearsed. But I really dont care, as long as its Stevie, her song, and her voice... it's all I really need.

I think Stevie sounds great live now, but man I would have LOVED To have seen her in the 80's when she would ramble and just walk all around (and off!) the stage. A co-worker of mine was telling me he saw her in Texas in the 80's and she fell off a speaker!!! As much as I am glad she is clean and sober, it would be a blast to see her old wild self on stage.

Note: This is only my opinion and this opinion is in no way meant as offense to anyone else. :woohoo:

yeah that one interview she just did where she said she rehearses so much that she is over rehearsed was spot on. when i saw fm in 2009 in pittsburgh i actually didnt even look at her that much when she was singing because i was too distracted by lindsey. he was all over the place and looked like he was having a blast and if it wasnt for him i dont think the show would have been that great. i think i like solo stevie better now then when she is with fm.
christina aguilera is like that where every part of her show is rehearsed. there is no spontaneity and she comes off as very disconnected. i hate that because she is such a great live singer.

IDK, I think its pretty simple. Stevie's definitely gone more technical since TISL, because she had to. Her voice has much more limitation and latitude, that it did back in 75' - losing more each year/album - until about 98'. So that, plus the nerves she suffers combined with her age, make her performances come off cagey and over rehearsed. All the cherished ad-libbed spontaneity is all but a memory now. But it's alright baby, she doing the best that she can...

I was impressed with her "Secret Love" O performance simply cause it sounded pretty near the studio version, which will win almost every time, because of edits and enhancements in the studio, and not having to be wrecked by her nerves of having a camera & audience staring and judging. But it was good. I was holding my breath a little, but by the time she got to the second verse she found her groove.

I liked the performance, but she sang it too angrily. I didn't hear the sadness and vulnerability in her voice as it is on the recorded version of the song. It's not a situation that you're pissed off about, but sorry because you know the relationship can't work. The arm swirls are cool, but the pantomimes are really lame.

When she sang this song, it reminded me of when she sang Everyday. I realized this song is not a hit. She should not have to do all of that to bring people into the performance.

I agree, the singing was a little too rough for me on Secret Love live. And we know from performances like BATB and Love Is, that she can still live with that vulnerable sweet voice when she wants to.
