I'm surprised none of the people at the Oprah taping mentioned this. Tonight, 04/09/2011, Stevie will have a special guest at her concert in Chicago~
Sheryl Crow!
Maybe Sheryl will sing on "Secret Love", too!

Glad to hear that. I think that Sheryl is an extremely talented musician, singer, and songwriter. I had the chance to see Stevie & Sheryl at Jones Beach in July 2001, on the TISL tour, and they were great together. Great show all around. Anyway, enjoy the concert.

Maybe they decided this at dinner after the show, after a couple glasses of wine :woohoo:
Was Sheryl pushing her new "cookbook" that her chef wrote and she stuck her name on, so that it might have a small chance of selling? She was on Racheal Ray the other day (with her chef doing all the cooking) and she says "I don't even cook"! Well then, I'm just going to rush right out and buy that book right now! NOT.

I love Sheryl and, like louie, am so pleased that they're hanging out a bit more again! Not too much thoh, it's not the Sheryl show after all, haha. Really looking forward to hearing about what they do tonight!
I hate that cookbook though! I cannot believe it's actually called If It Makes You Healthy!! I like a good pun as much as the next guy but come on, that just sucks!

well, look at it this way - at least she's straightforward about it unlike most other celebrities with ghost writers who never admit to that but obviously have no clue what's in the book they supposedly wrote...
plus sheryl looks great and fit - so if she eats what's described in the book, and if i could afford a cook to cook for my family some of the presumably healthy meals in that book, i might be interested.;)

Oh Hell! I forgot that "The First Cut Is The Deepest" was Crow's new song on her BEST OF~!!! Yeah, she'll probably do that with Rod, since hers was a pretty big hit, too, for 2004. I hope Stevie joins them for that!

Well it was written by Cat Stevens, but P.P. Arnold released it first and then Cat Stevens decided to record it himself. Rod didn't release his until ten years after Arnold's 1967 release.

Not that I'm aware of. You could tell that she really liked having Sheryl Crow out on stage with her. She was smiling more during some of those songs. I think she likes to have someone to sing back and forth with at times like she does with Lindsey.

Gypsy is correct, Sheryl did Sorcerer and Landslide and Led Zepp"s Rock N Roll for encore. Note that Sheryl did NOT do First Cut with Rod.
Gotta say, Rod brought his A game and his band and stage looked like Robert Palmer's Simply Irresistible!! 2 hours of Rod not as bad as I thought it would be!! I loved the part where Rod kicked out about 30 autographed soccer balls into the audience.!!

Following the recording of Say You Will, Stevie felt outnumbered in the band as a woman, and was miserable. Stevie basically said she'd never record with Fleetwood Mac again. There was talk within the band about bringing in another female member as a muse and to comfort Stevie. Sheryl Crow was the one who was chosen. Sheryl blabbed about joining Fleetwood Mac in the media before it was really official, and that REALLY p!ssed Lindsey off (I don't think he was keen on the idea to begin with). On the eve of going out on the Unleashed tour, Sheryl backed out on joining the band, and that p!ssed Stevie off. Since then, Stevie and Sheryl haven't spoken about one another in the media, haven't done any shows together, haven't helped with each other's albums, and haven't been spotted together socially.

I think their relationship is kept pretty private. Stevie once said that Sheryl is like Christine--she can just pack her bags and stay over at Sheryls. They're really close. I think when Sheryl had cancer, Stevie was there for her.

Wrong. Stevie spoke about Sheryl repeatedly, with love, during the Unleashed! Tour, explaining how she sat Sheryl down and asked if she was really going to be able to do this tour right, being a new mother. Stevie said she was not pissed at all at Sheryl, who made the right decision.

I remember Lindsey's comment about the band hadn't decided yet and he went on to say something to the effect of he didn't want it to appear like a lounge act. I recall his word, "Lounge" and thought, "How insulting!" But...the media is as the media does and it may well have been taken out of context. I loved the duet w/ Sherly singing Landslide.

Fleetwood Mac - Nicks Disappointed By Crow Snub

Nicks Disappointed By Crow Snub
FLEETWOOD MAC star STEVIE NICKS insists she did offer SHERYL CROW a chance to join the band on tour - but was left "disappointed" when the rocker passed up the opportunity.
Crow recently denied reports she was invited to play with the legendary group ahead of their upcoming first tour in five years, labelling the reports "rumours".
But iconic singer Nicks insists she was desperate for Crowe to join them onstage and invited her on the tour, but claims the star turned down the offer over the band's hectic schedule.
Nicks tells Msnbc.com, “I explained to Sheryl what it was like to be in the group - that it’s all-encompassing. Like on 2003’s Say You Will tour, we went out expecting to do 40 shows, and it turned in to 135 shows. So Sheryl called me and said, ‘I’ll have to pass.’ As Stevie Nicks, I was disappointed. As her friend, I told her she made the right decision.”

That's right Stevie did clarify the Sheryl incident during the Unleashed promotion, I think she wanted to make it known she and Sheryl were still friends even though Lindsey had blurted in previous press that Mick and Stevie had gotten po'd over Sheryl's announcement to join the band and he even went as far to say that Stevie and Sheryl had words over the phone about it.
But, Sheryl was at the Nashville Unleashed show I attended. One backstage photo I recall was of Stevie with Sheryl, Carrie Underwood and Michelle Branch.

This is a great duet.:xoxo:I was feeling the emotion of it all, especially in the context of Stevie and Sheryl's absolute devotion and adoration towards one another. I'm so happy to see these gals reunited on the music stage temporarily. I was instantly reassured when I heard Sheryl showed up at the O taping with Stevie. Agreed. I think she's a fantastic artist... I've followed her since the mid '90s and have all of her albums. She's exceedingly talented, probably far more so than Stevie herself. Stevie beats her in a more immeasurable way, though: emotional bonds with her listeners. I don't get why Stevie fans have to beat Sheryl down. She and Stevie are as alike as apples and oranges.

Agree. I have a great appreciation for Sheryl's talent. She is a quick study, has a keen natural musical ability, and is a pretty darn good songwriter herself (she does also co-write a lot of her material) and I have all her records. That said, she can "grate" and sound shrill a little vocally time to time, and she is more of a imitator of genres than an innovator. But all that aside, I respect her, enjoy her music and consider her very talented! And I love that Stevie and her are great pals. So it was a happy moment for me to see them reunited on stage after almost a decade.

Yes! I completely agree. I've been a big Sheryl fan since the mid 90s and always enjoyed her stuff. Sure, some of her albums are a little patchy, especially Detours, but everyone is guilty of that from time to time and it all comes down to personal preference anyway. While I think Sheryl joining FM would have been a bit much, I really like most of the work she has done with Stevie - especially If You Ever Did Believe which is excellent!

I like Sheryl Crow but I can't love her. She imitates styles too much. That second album seemed like a complete imitation to me. I think she is a great writer and producer. However, her voice seems thin to me. It fealt like it took 3 albums before I got her style. Her last album didn't even go gold and I don't think she gives a crap. Totally agree!, especially The Globe Sessions - That was a great record. She kind of meandered afterwards. Stevie worked with Sheryl during her high point creatively thats for certain. Afterwards, Sheryl became too ubiquitous and her music suffered more identity crisis, hence it becoming increasingly obvious of her borrowing more and more from her influences . As far as her 00's albums, I actually prefer Wildflower to C'mon C'mon and Detours - which was terribly spotty despite re-teaming with songwriter/producer Bill Bottrell.

Sheryl hasn't had a platinum selling record of original material since 2002s "C'mon C'mon". "Wildflower" in 2005 was her last Gold selling record, but its only @50k from Platinum. 2008s "Detours"(405,000) and 2010s "100 Miles From Memphis"(150,000) are not even certified Gold in the U.S.:( Though I agree, Sheryl has a healthy attitude about record sales these days, in part, put into perspective cause she has kids to focus on as well, and she's achieved pretty much all she's ever wanted, but I can't help but think she cares a little more than she says in interviews. I mean she's had quite a precipitious drop in sales in a short time-span:shocked:. These figures are also interesting for perspective when looking towards expectations for Stevie's "In Your Dreams". If Stevie can pull off selling 250K in 2011, that would be a milestone achievement for a female artist her age in the music industry's new reality for pop/rock females over 40+ much less 60+. If IYD does goes Gold - that would be a tsunami wave success!

I pretty much agree with all of the above. The Globe Sessions is one of those rare rock artist albums- it was pretty much career-defining. It is as close to perfection as one can get- an album that rocks hard, has some catchy pop tunes, some gorgeous melodies and lots of introspection. It's timeless. But it does make me wonder how the quality of her albums kinda fell off a cliff thereafter. I do like C'mon, C'mon a lot, but it does represent the beginning of her decline; she has been playing it way too safe in recent years. I was hoping Detours would be a return to form, but it almost sounds like a self-conscious track-by-track rip-off of Tuesday Night Music Club, but not as good. She clearly has a knack for writing great songs but she seems unable to channel her pain the way she did on TGS.

i totally agree with you! The Globe Sessions was so amazing and her best cd to date. i remember at the time though that it sold alot less than her previous albums and i could never figure out why. i saw her live on that tour and she was kick ass. i would love another rock cd by her again someday. i am not a fan of 100 miles from memphis at all besides 2 songs. i did really like Wildflower and Come On Come On wasnt too bad. her new song called Collide with Kid Rock is pretty good but i do miss the old rocking Sheryl.

I have & still do admire Sheryl and not sure why there is always this need to dog her? Especially being she is a friend of Stevie's.
I don't get it either. Sheryl is no slouch. The woman has won NINE grammys. Somebody must like her. She's an educated musician (BA in Music Composition, Performance & Education), not to mention a solid pianist, guitar and bass player. Not too shabby for a 49 year old former elementary school music teacher!

Thanks for posting the video. Now that is a duet, very nice.
I like Sheryl. I actually started getting into her music more when I found out she was friends with Stevie because if she friends with Stevie, she can't be all bad, JMO. I have a few of Sheryl's CDs. Her last one though was a stinker, JMO; I don't even play it, but I have a greatest hits CD of hers & Detours. I'm not a devout fan, but I do like her music.

Well, I think the only songs from Sheryl that I actually love are The Difficult Kind and Chances Are and Weather Channel. None of which were not hits. I hated Strong Enough, Hard to Make a Stand and Every Day is A Winding Road. I thought those songs were pure imitation. Maybe Angels was an Ode to Stevie. I did not think her voice carried Home, which was actually a decent song.
I thought Cmon Cmon was best crafted album. Then Sheryl Crow and the Globe Sessions. Wildflowers sucked. It was soooo bland. Loved Chances Are though.

Ditto ditto ditto. I REALLY don't understand all the Sheryl negativity in Stevie-Land. What IS that all about? Does anyone know why ALOT of Stevie fans hate Sheryl ? Personally, if it makes Stevie happy it can't be that bad ... Lol I HAD to go there !!! But seriously, why all the haters ??

Because she can produce and she has won all those grammies.

So, do you think it's because she's good at what she does and she has more awards than Stevie ? That seems so very shallow . We're not in 1st. grade are we ??? It just seems like maybe people are jealous of Sheryl, i don't know it's just silly !

People don't have to like someone who has awards (I like Sheryl, I'm just making a point).
No one is forced to like anyone who's critically acclaimed, wins awards, or is over~hyped as "brilliant". I never have, do not, and never will appreciate Lindsey Buckingham in the slightest. All the ranting at me about him "saving Stevie's songs!" means crap to me. He could have let "Smile At You" drown instead of "saving" that one.
So, if some people don't like Sheryl, that's their right. Just like people who think Stevie is talentless. That's their right.

 Yeah,I hear ya. Although I like Lindsey tunes enough I think he's okay but people go way overboard for him.& He's ruined as many songs as he's made ''good''. Also,I can't see passed the whole misogyny thing...everytime I listen to him it reminds me. i'm like *tsk tsk*

I agree with you on all of this. It amazes me that so many people waste their own time by requiring that I should change what I feel about what and whom I like. I don't lose a wink of sleep over other people's taste.
