3. Heavenly Creatures (Peter Jackson)
A brilliant film. It's incredible that it is both girls' first film role - great performances!
2. Bringing Up Baby
3. Double Indemnity
6. Mildred Pierce
Yayyy! There are too many brilliant quotes from Bringing Up Baby, I can't pick one to put here! It's on my list along with Double Indemnity.
I love Mildred Pierce too. It's so unusual to have a woman's daugher in the kind of femme fatale role. I'm intrigued by the new mini-series of it with Kate Winslet, she's great. Have you seen any of it yet?
Batman Returns (1992)
The Lord of the Rings (2001-2003)
Back to the Future (1985)
QUOTE]
I still argue for Returns as the best of the 90s Batman films! I meant to put Back To The Future in my list. As for Lord Of The Rings, you get into the very anal issue of can trilogies count as one film? Haha.

The Opposite of Sex
Great random choice! That film is completely underrated. Christina Ricci, and everyone else, is superb in it.

LOVE Shaun Of The Dead!
and LOVE LOVE LOVE Galaxy Quest - it was on TV last weekend so I watched it again, so funny!
Going to have to do some deep thinking for my Top 10!
Can we have things like Star Wars - all 6 films counted as one?

Ginger Snaps I is a classic. Ginger Snaps II is watchable. Ginger Snaps III is dreck.
I love the extensive use of foreshadowing in it. It's an intensely clever movie without even shoving it in people's faces. Brilliant.
I must admit that I watched Galaxy Quest at first because I am obsessed with Alan Rickman. I now watch it (still obsessed, mind) because it's hilarious and so charming.
From a personal POV, Star Wars sucks Werther's Original Boiled Sweets. Definitely more of a Trekkie than a......Warsie?

I have a thing for film noir. :)
Before I saw Double Indemnity, the only thing I'd ever seen Fred MacMurray in was that silly TV show My Three Sons. Needless to say, Walter Neff was a very different character from the proto-Mr. Rogers he played on My Three Sons.
I've heard about the new Mildred Pierce, but haven't seen any of it. Have you? I'm a little apprehensive about it...just seems like one of those movies that you really shouldn't mess with (but when has that ever stopped anyone before?).
Requiem For A Dream
Galaxy Quest
If we did a list of Top 10 Movies You Most Hate, these two would be on it. :distress:
Requiem is just the most depressing thing I've ever seen, and I hate Galaxy Quest mainly because I can't stand the sight of Tim Allen.
