Just got word from Philly, apparently Leather and Lace replaced Passion tonight

Huh--so Stevie caved, then! I honestly think it's for the best. On the other hand, if he didn't reign in his performance for that one, it could have been a disaster.

Anyway, I'm definitely curious! Hoping it ends up on youtube soon...

Haha! Rod wore her down!

Either that or she finally read all of the reviews that were confused as to why they were singing those random songs in place of Stevie's actual duets, and came to her senses.

Agree. Passion was just ok. And Rod was right, it wasn't a huge hit, it flew under the radar. not to mention, it drones on in concert.

A couple of people just posted these over at YouTube, and I thought I would share it here so everyone could see it. Thankfully, the sound quality on both is really good! You can see more on the first one, but the second has really excellent sound (but you will hear some audience sing-a-long):

Stevie sounds fantastic and it's so great to hear her voice today on this song, but Rod's lyric mess-ups just make me wish I was there to sing the duet with her instead! LOL! I have to wonder if he was saying to himself.. "oh dear God.. I had to beg her to sing this with me, and now I'm screwing it up!" And maybe she's saying to herself, "See, Rod? THIS is why I rehearse over and over and over..." :p

Oh wow... Stevie sounded so amazing! I was unable to stop grinning the entire time! :D

So it's official... Stevie is no longer allowed to perform unless either Rod Stewart, Tom Petty, or Don Henley is onstage with her :p. They just seem to bring out the absolute best vocally in her!

Haha.. me too, Louie! I wasn't sure how she would sound on this one with her voice as it is today, but I love it! It helps they changed the key to lower the pitch (probably for the sake of both of their voices)... but she really sounds fantastic, and I agree that performing with these partners does seem to bring something out of her that's not always there on her regular set-list.

Yeah, I hit the "play" button with great trepidation for the same reason... I just didn't know if she was still able to pull of this song off vocally. But she did... just beautifully. This has truly made my night, thank you so much for sharing these vids!

Found footage of Young Turks, which was performed before L&L, and while I was watching it I thought, wow, Stevie doesn't seem that happy, Rod made several attempts to sing to her, or to make eye contact, and she just avoided him. Well if you watch the video, or if you just want to see how pissed she is go to 4:36. She won't even LOOK at Rod. He talks about how they only rehearsed that afternoon. No wonder he looked like he did in the L&L video. Oh well. Don't think that song will be in the set much longer.

I don't blame her for being annoyed with him. He made no bones about the fact that he's been wanting to do "Leather and Lace" with her, a song that she seems to really only prefer doing with Don Henley. And to top it off, he chooses not to rehearse, thus coming off as a terribly half-assed performance.

Agreed.Well, Stevie sounded great, and the crowd seemed to dig it, but yes, totally out of her comfort zone to just wing a song as classic as that.

oh boy Rod looks nervous @ the end of Young Turks! She musta gave him a lashing at rehearsal! I believe he is reading a teleprompter during Leather, so that may be why he looks so pensive? B/T/W, Stevie sounds great in this performance!!

Hardly would call his performance half ass. It's not like you can do much with the song besides sing it faithfully and well, which he did, for the most part.

Stevie looks like she's about to fall asleep at the mic during Leather & Lace, but she sounds great! I didn't think it'd been *that* long since she'd done this song. Doesn't she drag it out once every couple of years when she can get Don Henley to show up to sing it with her?

She & Rod sound great together on it...but Rod looks nervous as hell, and Stevie looks like she's ready for a nap.

This isn't the first time I've thought Stevie looked sleepy (or inebriated) on stage. Is it the eye make-up?

Its called "being 62 and having sagging brow ridge skin". You try having your eyelids seperated from your brow line when you are 62! Hell, I am 31 and I have problems keeping my brow line off my eyelids!

Yes Stevie did seem annoyed or just tired. And Rod looked nervous. But really L&L was a great treat, and I think his voice is just fine for that song. He did a very tender performance of it. I believe he was using a teleprompter, which can really throw you off, so he did have a couple slips, but it was alright. The crowd loved it.

Does anyone else think Rod was God awful on L&L? Didn't know the lyrics, looked nervous as hell, vocal just all wrong. Perhaps I'm just not used to him singing on it but I don't think so...Besides Stevie's parts it was actually painful to watch and listen to.

Love is...that performance!!!

Was she wiping tears from her eyes at the end?

Right! She's gonna HATE that...

I know, right!!!? That song, IMO should never have left her solo set. She easily could have sung it with the girls like she did on the Bella Donna tour, it didn't require a male vocal. Besides, it was a big hit, not sure how high it got but it was definitely in the top 10. So glad Rod twisted her arm on this!!

It's totally half-assed, if you compare it to his other songs. He stands there, stiff as a board, fumbling the rather simple lyrics. It's obvious he wasn't confident.

He sounded fine, just looked awkward :) He'll get the lyric memorized soon. Probably just "first time I've done this song" jitters. Trust me, I am no big RS so I would have no problem criticizing him if he sounded terrible, which, sorry people, but he doesn't sound TERRIBLE :)

At a Stevie show, the room is pin-drop quiet when she does this song. But at a Rod show, those frackin' obnoxious altecockers just yap away during the whole thing. It's funny--I was there, and I have such a different take on a lot of the happenings of the show. I just turned my review in to Nicks Fix and figured I'd put it up here as well for an alternative view of "Leather & Lace,"

"Life Is SO Brief, Time Is A Thief" in Philadelphia, PA

April 5th, 2011. Do you know where you were that night? A few of us know: we were at the “Heart & Soul” concert, featuring Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart, taking in the sound and harmonies of two enduring rock powerhouses! Where does the time go? Wasn’t it just yesterday, in junior high, where we first heard Maggie May? It wasn’t that long ago when we first heard Gold Dust Woman on the radio, was it? But this night we were getting to see two not so old friends on stage performing their classic hits, while directly across the street, Cole Hamels and our Philadelphia Phillies were competing for the local attention!

There didn’t seem to be much time—to me there never seems to be enough time to stop and chat with all of us, even though it’s a rock concert. We all crave those moments. When Stevie did speak, it was clearly from her heart. Just before singing “Landslide” Stevie spoke about the slide show to be displayed behind her as she sang—special moments throughout her life, her dear family and her amazing career: “I hope it makes you appreciate what you have, and love your family.” No one can do Landslide like it’s songwriter, and yet so many people now lay claim to it and make it their own. Stevie, you should be proud, just as we love and are proud of you. "Love IS!" I’m so happy Stevie made the time to be with us.

Just to show you how tight the time was, Stevie didn’t even have time to introduce her amazing band. The men worked hard, so I won’t let time rob them here: Al Ortiz (bass), Jimmy Paxson (amazing drums), Lenny Castro (master percussionist), Ricky Peterson (keyboards/organ), Darrell Smith (piano), Carlos Rios (left handed guitar player) and Waddy Wachtel, (left handed magician that plays right handed guitar, Stevie’s band master). Original Stevie backup ladies, Lori Nicks and Sharon Celani, were wearing black leather tonight, while Stevie was in black lace.

Stevie’s performance was over too quickly, but not before she pulled out “Secret Love” from the new album! Would we get more tonight? “In Your Dreams!” Stevie kept to her word: No other songs from the May 3rd album were performed, "I don't want to see them on YOUTUBE the next day." Stevie, “I Can’t Wait!” As Stevie was closing, she said, “Philadelphia, one of my favorite cities, honest to God! For real! Thank you so much everybody! We’ll be back—take care of yourselves, we love you!” Back at you, Stevie. A number of my Stevie buddies were not on board tonight. They were holding out, waiting for opening night of Stevie’s solo tour at the Borgata in exactly one month. The clock seems to be moving very SLOWLY waiting for that time to come! Stevie delivered a powerful "Love Is" before surrendering the stage.

There was a brief intermission. A large, neon colored curtain dropped, with the name ROD STEWART in blazing chartreuse lettering and a cartoon of a locomotive, featuring Rod Stewart as engineer! This was clearly going to be something wild coming, and there was. A lightening white stage and flashing lights hit people right in their eyes, powerful sounds jolting everyone out of their seats. Flashes of red bounded onto the stage. Brass horns—trumpets & saxaphones hit the stage, and, like Stevie, Rod served up his heavy hitters and there would be no "Great American Songbook" tonight: it was ALL rock & roll! Ever the showman, Mr. Stewart began with a party, and kept it moving for the rest of the night! It was clear that Rod is still fighting a touch of the flu symptoms. He had his hankie out a few times. While he was fully energy charged and a total pro out there, there were hints of moments of a fire inside, some diaphoresis and a moment when he seems to loose balance, as if the cold medicine was kicking in when attempting to sit down on a stool. He left the stage shortly after that, and one of his back up singers stepped up to the plate and belted out a masterful rendition of “Knock On Wood.” Rod got it together and brought down the house for the remainder of the show. I knew all of Rod’s songs by heart. It was a fun show! We were treated to another spotlight on Stevie Nicks: she came out during Rod’s set to duet on “Young Turks” and her own “Leather and Lace.” It was pretty cool hearing Stevie cover Don Henley’s higher harmonies while Rod pulled off Stevie’s melody part on "Leather and Lace." Rod did a great job on the song, and considering his Allen Iverson attitude toward "practice" (Philly 76ers reference), he was terrific. Don Henley, Mr. Perfectionist/Mr. TwoVoices, would probably make him “do it again.” But I loved it, and Waddy Wachtel was terrific in making this song come together so beautifully. Rod Stewart is a serious sing-songwriter in his own right. If you have never listened to the lyrics of "Forever Young," you've been robbed. As I think about it, I'd love to hear Stevie's take on that song one day. Rod can be just as thoughtful and tender a writer as the best of them--in fact, he IS one of the best of them. As the night near an end, Rod kicked autographed soccer balls out all over the venue. It was a featured event with his singing the song “Hot Legs.” It was fun. I’m glad we got to do this. I’m thrilled that Stevie and Rod came to the city that loves them back. Stevie, we “can’t wait” for your new album! Thank you Stevie for giving us this extra show for us tonight.
love, blackcat

FORVER YOUNG
May the good Lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud
Dignified and true
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young

May good fortune be with you
May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to heaven
with a prince or a vagabond

And may you never love in vain
and in my heart you will remain
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young
Forever Young

And when you finally fly away
I'll be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime
No one can ever tell

But whatever road you choose
I'm right behind you, win or lose
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young ,Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young
For, Forever Young, Forever Young

Leather and Lace is one of Stevie's most structured songs. It is definitely not one of the songs a person should wing it on.

Yeah, he should be embarrassed. That was painful to watch - it's like he only knew the chorus. She sounded great though.

don't get your hopes up! Mama may drop the axe on it before it even has time to become wonderful...

Me thinks you may be right.

Oh my God... yes, YES!!! =THIS= is the way Love Is should be sung!!! She's not doing the belt-shriek at ALL! She just sang it beautifully . Wow, she was REALLY on for tonight's concert, wasn't she?

I think that's one of the best live vocals I've heard her do in a very long time, along with Leather & Lace.
I dont like her belting them out, I love the breathy vocals.
I hope she puts Leather & Lace in her set. She can be so stubborn about not wanting to do certain songs. As someone mentioned, she sang it alone on the Bella Donna tour!

Are you outta your comfort zones, grampa and grandma?! Good! Now get out there and sing, and be happy about it... Look into that see of money, er people, and sing like you mean it and if you're pissed off that you didn't get to rehearse... then FAKE IT!

Now THAT's the truth...

And Rod couldn't have looked more bored during Leather and Lace. Hand in the pocket during the entire song? He looked like he was doing karaoke at the local bar. What is UP? They do NOT look natural performing together. It looks like they were forced.

Hahaha...that is exactly what I was thinking...it's totally like Rod is doing karaoke!!!

So proud of Stevie for doing such an amazing job on this song and totally showing off to the Rod crowd how vocally talented she is. She warned Rod over and over from the beginning that it is a hard song and she really didn't want to do it. I know Rod is all about a "good Rock & Roll live mistake", but I think it's seriously disrespectful for him to say he wanted to do a song so bad with her that he doesn't even know. If he hadn't made it public over and over that he isn't into rehearsing, then yea...I'd feel bad for him that it was just nerves. It's a honor that Stevie decided to let him sing that song with her. Stevie probably was very hesistant to say yes, but gave him the benefit of the doubt and it seems he pulled off the performance Stevie envisioned it would be...which is why she probably didn't want to do it. Stevie always shows so much respect for covers/duets she does of other artists. Bet Rod is practicing after last night! ;) Can't wait to hear what happens tonight!

At a Stevie show, the room is pin-drop quiet when she does this song. But at a Rod show, those frackin' obnoxious altecockers just yap away during the whole thing. What could they be talking about that is so fascinating? Comparing denture adhesives? Debating the merits of supplemental Medicare plans?

I know :( I remember when she sang 'Love Is' at Foxwoods last August, it was so intensely quiet it gave me chills. One of my favorite Stevie "live" moments. :)

I really hope that she can't hear how rude people are being at the shows with Rod ...I bet this tour w/ Rod is really going to raise her appreciation of her audiences at her solo shows.

I just watched the video of Stevie & Rod doing Leather & Lace. Stevie was great, but Rod? What was he doing? I've never seen a person sing with one hand in his or her pocket! And it's a love song for freakin' sake. He didn't even look @ Stevie except at the end. I know he's married with a zillion kids, but he could have put a little feeling into it. Jeez, even Don Henley put a little into it more into it than Rod. I support Stevie & all, but I'm glad I didn't go to this show. I don't think I could have sat through Rod's set. I don't know what his set was like, but this duet, not good on his part. :sorry:

What the eff is everyone talking about? Rod barely messed up at all. I'm not a fan of his, but he was pretty much spot on. He changed a word or two, but he was trying to make it his own. I read all the comments before watching the video and everyone made it seem like he didn't know a single word of his part.

I HATE that they lowered the song down a key. Stevie sounds great, but I love it in the original key.

I agree with you about Rod's performance. I was at the show and Rod sounded fine. Granted, he's not Don Henley on this song, but he didn't butcher it. I am not sure where all the "Rod hate" is coming from. I would guess they lowered the key so Stevie could sing the higher harmonies. I didn't hear any complaints about the song from anyone sitting near me. People cheered for the song at the end. (hey, it beat having to hear Passion!) The song will only get better in the few nights that remain.

This is how it was in Santa Barbara. Louie, it was a religious experience. I've been telling you for months!

But seriously, I've played this video on repeat since you posted the link, John. THIS is why I love this woman. It's all captured in this video. I teared up the first time watching it, just remembering how much I love this song and loved that moment last summer.

yeah...like you said, that performance is the reason I have loved Stevie and been a fan for so many years now. I"ve always liked that song but it becomes something very magical on stage with just the piano and the girls. You can tell Stevie completely feels it. She feels every single word she is singing. What really got me was her expression after the "one tear..." part and also the final "am I happy..yes I am..." and she smiles and turns her head to the side. I do believe, at least at that moment, she is truly happy and you can see it on her face. And that makes me happy. I'm rambling I know but I'm a bit awestruck right now!

I agree, I really didn't find his performance so awful. The comments shock me. Did he screw up? Yep, he sure did...did he ruin the show for the audience? I doubt it.

It's not as if Stevie hasn't ever flubbed a lyric or two in her live performances. It happens...it's rock and roll! I was in Pittsburgh for the opening Unleashed show when Stevie flubbed up a word or two during Say You Love Me...a song that she had sung on hundreds of times before and surely, had rehearsed for quite some time with the Mac before that night in Western PA. Again, it happens, and it's all good. If I wanted absolute perfection I'd never attend a rock concert, I'd just listen to the recorded versions at home!

regarding L&L....not for nothing but you think Stevie could actually engage Rod into this performance? She apparently is not happy to be doing this song and it really shows. How can you expect Rod to be engaging her? She's appearing to be very closed off in her duets with him - not just in this particular performance but in most of them that I've seen so far. It's like, c'mon Stevie, this is supposed to be fun. Lighten and loosen up for crying out loud. I'm actually uncomfortable watching the two of them together. Not a lot of rapport between the two of them but that's no shock. Yeah, they did if for the money.

I'm sorry but am I the only one who feels that Stevie just looks pissed off here? I can just see her saying to herself... "I can't believe this man won't even fricken rehearse this song...I don't know why I'm even singing this only Don sings it with me...he forgot the lines ugh omg..."

She just has that "wtf" look. And if you also noticed on Young Turks from that same show she wasn't all smiles there either (like she has been previously)

Mama has something on her mind!

Yeah, that was an unfortunate performance for Rod.

Stevie sounded absolutely amazing. Rod looked like he didn't know what the heck he was doing and he was completely awkward with his hands in his pockets swaying back and forth like that, not to mention the flub of the lines.

Despite Rod not feeling 100% well, he was smiling, moving about, and interacting with the audience (there was a girl who held up a rather large photo of Rod/herself from "back in the day", and Rod was playful with her . . . um, he put his hand in his pocket, and made a movement that, well, looked like something else! It was VERY funny!). I don't think I saw Stevie clearly interact with anyone (other than the people on the stage) except when she was waving at the end of Edge of Seventeen. She wasn't her normal self. Rod was playful with the band members, and they took an active cohesive role in interacting with the audience as well.

I got an email from a work buddy saying this: Had a great time and loved singing along to almost every song! Only a few people in our section danced and one woman asked them to sit down ~ happy to report they were polite and stayed standing and dancing! Was it us or did Stevie not look too happy to be singing with Rod? Enjoyed them both but he seemed a little looser and not afraid of the mistakes he made. His energy was amazing!

I don't give a rat's ass if he knew the words or not. His vocal sucked and I've never seen such a world-renowned performer give such an all around dull, lackluster performance when he's practically bouncing off the walls to his own songs. Not only that, he seemed to care less about his duetting partner or making any kind of magic happen between them. He seriously looked like he needed to take a major sh*t or something. As much as I want to hear L&L live I almost want them to go back to Passion so he doesn't continue to butcher a such a classic song.

Wow...it's so clear that during Young Turks Stevie is probably just completely dreading what is to come after...her expression is so distant at the end. And the body language between them as Rod looks at her while he says they're going to "attempt" to do the song is priceless...(more like Rod is going to attempt to do the song, yikes!)...hands on her hips...the tension is so evident. YES! he sucked, that's what you get when you refuse to practice.

I think Stevie is the one to blame....

My friend was in the sound check and HE was the one that kept pushing her to run through it. She just kept saying she wasnt comfortable the entire time, but he made sure they got through it.

Someone made a comment about her not being happy during "Young Turks" and I totally agree! When she came out he said "We are going to do one of my songs and one of hers" and she just kind of scoweled...I think things hadnt been completely nailed down and she was half expecting him to just stick with Passion. So when they started with Young Turks instead she knew what was coming and was not happy the entire time.

You know what? I don't blame Stevie one bit. From that description it sounds like she was trying to subtly do whatever she could to avoid having to sing L&L that night. It's like she indirectly was trying to tell Rod..."Do you really think we can pull this song together in ONE practice! It's not going to happen!" I really don't think Rod really gets her music and I think it seriously irritates Stevie how easily he thinks a duet like that can come together. It shows how sacred Stevie's songs are to her and that she has no desire to sing her songs with anyone who won't take the time to respect them. Rant over! :) haha

This song is definitely one of her favorite "children." She wrote it while under Don's tutelage. Watching the interaction between Stevie & Don performing the song at the AHI back in 2000, one can see the stirred memories. It's personal--but all her songs are. She clearly didn't want to share that song with Rod. What song would she want to do with him? None. Stevie did a "duet" song with Taylor Swift. I'm sure no one wanted another disaster. Stevie missed a little bit on Young Turks, but Rod messed up on his OWN song and had the band restart--to him it was no big deal. Yes, as someone else posted, we've all seen Stevie do some minor mess ups on her own lyrics at times, too. She's just not wanting to let anyone else do it to one her songs.

ITA - It was one less Rod song and one more Stevie song! and When you are there in person you don't catch as many of the mess ups. (And L&L is mostly Stevie vocals anyway!)

and to clarify... by "fault" I meant it was more Stevie who was uncomfortable/uneasy about the performace than Rod. The point I was trying to make was that Rod didnt seem to care about giving it a go, and I can't fault him for that

Good video WildHeart69

i'm with you. plus seems fair to do one of hers and one of his songs as a duet. passion didn't do anything for her.

stevie fans kept complaining since this tour started how he out-stages her. so isn't it good for her that she out-stages him for once by doing this duet? (well, he seems sick too, hope he doesn't have long term consequences after dragging on that flu.) and audience even though mostly his apparently knows and enjoys the song, so this gives stevie's music additional exposure (which one would think is one of the reasons she's doing this tour in the first place, other than piling up cash).

glad the song is still in the set, hope it stays.

I'll never forget the night I saw her on the Unleashed Tour in Manchester NH. While singing Storms, she actually forgot the words in the second stanza :distress: Lindsey kept on strumming, the audience kept right on singing, and after two lines, Stevue just shrugged, smiled, and said :I got it now!" it was one of her really endearing moments, especially since the audience remembered the lyrics :]

Rod may not have sounded "excellent" on this performance, but to me he did something very, very brilliant. I think he "coaxed" Stevie into performing a beautiful song she has not included in her setlist in about two decades. After the first verse and he just gestured toward her while the audience applauded. She sounded absolutely amazingly beautiful and it was refreshing to hear it. Maybe she could keep it in the set list and sing all the verses herself or just do harmonies of it with Lori and Sharon if she doesn't like Rod's part on it. She performed it with Lori and Sharon during the Bella Donna tour. SHE sounded fantastic performing L & L. Wish I was there to see it live.

I have to say the duets are not that great with her and Rod I really think they should just do there own sets each instead the duets they are doing are terrible it especially the Leather and Lace they both look like they can't wait for this tour to be over with. Stevie sounds great as always Rod seems lost they both seem lost during there duets. They didn't rehearse for this tour and it shows glad I passed this tour hopefully Stevie's headlining tour is awesome.

I agree with you on this one I love rod too i think they should have rehearsed more than they did which they lacked in rehearsing and it shows thank god I didn't waste my money on this tour.

Oh I stand corrected...this performance sounds great. Thank You for sharing!

This is so much better than the Philly performance! Both Rod AND Stevie improved tremendously! I saw the soundcheck in Philly and Stevie was worried about performing it that night. As they say "practice makes perfect"!

I knew they would be better. They are both total pros in the music business, and they care about their music. Yep, it's about practice.

LOL you people crack me up. It wasn't a terrible performance and it sounded almost carbon copy from the 1st night. The audience loved it and I am sure no on was saying "oh my this is TERRIBLE". Gotta love us obsessed Ledgies :)

I Rod Stewart is a serious sing-songwriter in his own right. If you have never listened to the lyrics of "Forever Young," you've been robbed. As I think about it, I'd love to hear Stevie's take on that song one day. Rod can be just as thoughtful and tender a writer as the best of them--in fact, he IS one of the best of them. As the night near an end, Rod kicked autographed soccer balls out all over the venue. It was a featured event with his singing the song “Hot Legs.” It was fun. I’m glad we got to do this. I’m thrilled that Stevie and Rod came to the city that loves them back. Stevie, we “can’t wait” for your new album! Thank you Stevie for giving us this extra show for us tonight.
love, blackcat

FORVER YOUNG
May the good Lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud
Dignified and true
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young

May good fortune be with you
May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to heaven
with a prince or a vagabond

And may you never love in vain
and in my heart you will remain
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young
Forever Young

And when you finally fly away
I'll be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime
No one can ever tell

But whatever road you choose
I'm right behind you, win or lose
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young ,Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young
For, Forever Young, Forever Young

Hate to burst your bubble but Rod Stewart did not write Forever Young or many of the songs he performs.

I'm not a Rod Stewart fan but far as I knew he did actually write the lyrics to that and managed to pinch bits of the Bob Dylan version. There was a court case and I think Mr dylan got royalties to add to his piggy bank.

Forever Young was indeed written by Bob Dylan. His version is quite nice.

"Rod Stewart recorded a song titled "Forever Young", which was released as a single and included on his Out of Order album in 1988. The song was remarkably similar to the Bob Dylan song of the same title, sharing not only a similar melody but many of the same lyrics. Upon threat of a plagiarism suit, Stewart acknowledged that he had subconsciously plagiarized the older song, and agreed to share his royalties with Dylan."

I guess it burst Rod Stewart's bubble more than mine.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I happen to think Lindsey's vocals on the Bass Hall video suck even though they were professionally recorded. Point is, I don't go to the Lindsey board looking for something to bash him for :rolleyes:

Neither do I....I loved Stevie's early days.......She just has not impressed me in years. I'm sorry if It seems like I always bash Stevie. It's just my opinion. Also trust me Lindsey has done PLENTY of stuff I loathe. I think His voice now sounds like he took a faceplant on a gravel driveway and he inhaled some gravel. But I like his Material more. So what can I do....I Don't set out to bash Stevie.....She's just pretty much lost me.:wavey: I don't call it bashing. If I thought it was good I'd say so.

Stevie has done Leather and Lace back in 2005 on her Two Voices Tour with Don Henley which was an amazing tour they sang more than just 2 songs and they came out in both sets so was an awesome show I believe it was over or close to a 3 hour show.

I have never been critical about Stevie until now seeing the video of rod and stevie tour just not feeling the duets I love Stevie and I like Rod Stewart just though it would be a better show but then again I am just judging too on the you tube posts just couldn't make spend the money to see them would rather go to Stevie's headlining tour this summer instead.

I noticed that too ! Nothing there at all. I think she's holding her own but he's much too laid back for her! I just want to see her solo, i want her all to myself. No sharing with Rod !! ;)

I agree! I can't wait for this summer! :]

I was there that night and she wouldn't even LOOK HIS DIRECTION! When she was done her two songs with him, she almost RAN off the stage. I felt bad for her.

Are you outta your comfort zones, grampa and grandma?! Good! Now get out there and sing, and be happy about it... Look into that see of money, er people, and sing like you mean it and if you're pissed off that you didn't get to rehearse... then FAKE IT!

!

She flubbed it up on the entire SYW tour.

I don't give a rat's ass if he knew the words or not. His vocal sucked and I've never seen such a world-renowned performer give such an all around dull, lackluster performance when he's practically bouncing off the walls to his own songs.
He seriously looked like he needed to take a major sh*t or something.

He would have, but the parking garage was full of people:lol:

Aw. :thumbsup:To be fair, there is absolutely NO chemistry, history, NOTHING between Stevie and Rod. At first I thought perhaps she found him amusing, but now I think she is just wishing this tour would end so she can move on. He seems like a nice enough guy- they are just not suited to one another at all.

You just know there will come a day when Stevie bashes Rod in the press. Lindsey will sleep better at night.

I agree the show with Don Henley was fantastic. I was excited to see her with Rod tonight but it didn't do it for me. It was more of Rod's show and Stevie just opened versus the tour with Don Henley seemed like it was 50/50. It was the first time I have seen Rod Stewart and I enjoyed it but all of his fans were talking during Stevie's set. I'm looking forward to seeing her solo tour.
