View Full Version : Will Stevie do a summer tour.

I'm getting increasingly worried that this Rod tour thing is going to last throughout the summer and will be the primary means of promotion for this new album. The UK date is what's scared me the most, I think. Although I'm SO happy that the UK fans get the chance to see her this summer, doesn't it seem strange that she'd stop halfway through a solo North American tour to go perform a gig with someone she was touring with just months prior?

I could just be paranoid. I've decided to skip the Heart & Soul tour because a) I don't want to spend $200-400 dollars on tickets and b) I have zero interest in Rod. I really, really want a solo tour.

Thoughts?

No offence, but you just need to get over it. Stevie hasn't played solo in the uk in my lufetime, and yet shes toured the US constantly with no album to support for the lasr 10 years. I don't care for Rod, but I'm still going cos it could be the only chance i get to ever see her solo. She will still tour the US again and again.

Ok lets all breathe! Inhale...exhale...ok all better now.

SUPER EXCITED for the UK fans!! Congrats guys you deserve it.

The Rod/Stevie Tour ends April 23 or so. Stevie said and we all know she says things...that she was going home for 2 weeks and rehearsing.

Then IYD comes out.

Rod is touring the UK from May until the end of June.

Maybe this is a promo thing for Hard Rock.

Tickets for Rod's gigs in the UK have already gone onsale...I highly doubt she will tour over there with him strictly with no prior warning. They could make even more money if they had announced it prior.

My opinion is she does the promo and press for IYD for a week or 2. The tour starts at the end of May go through June. Fly over to the UK to do this show for Hard Rock, maybe and hopefully a few more shows for the fans that havent seen her and then come back to the states and does July and or August.

We have been seeing her since 2003 here in the states..we will see her this year.

Agreed. She's not going to put a new album out after 10 years and NOT do a tour for it. That wouldn't make sense. Even Sharon and Lori agreed when I spoke with them about it. (Not that they really know anything either)

I do think the Rod/Stevie tour success level, and the success of IYD will determine what size venues she will play when she tours solo. It'll be interesting.

I know I sound like a broken record but.... 22 years people! That's how long since she was solo here! I have zero interest in Rod but I have my ticket for Hyde Park. And yes...I'm hoping more dates will be announced. And in hoping this I'm sorry to say I'm not a bit worried about how it will impact her US tour ;)

I'm pretty sure she'll be touring in the US again pretty soon no matter if she does or doesn't tour the UK

And I'm not bitching at you Dani...I hear your concerns....but I've seen people flapping about how this UK date will affect the US tour on FB, twitter and here. In one breath saying they're happy for the UK but then going on to worry about their US dates. How long ago did she tour solo in the US? 22 years ago? lol :wavey:

My suspicion is that Stevie is not going to start her U.S. solo tour until sometime later in the year- August, perhaps. It makes no sense for her to hit all of these major U.S. cities in the Spring and then turn around and hit them all again two months later. I *think* the H&S tour will end in April and then she will be on an all-out media blitz during the month of May. Perhaps there will be a handful of stateside warm-up gigs in June. But I think she is going to spend much of June and July in Europe. Just a hunch. Also, if a summer U.S. tour was really in the works, we would have already started hearing about dates by now; the summer concert season is only a few months away.

I dont think her US solo summer tour will kickoff until late june/early july and run through september! This is the same time frame as she did with TISL and didnt announce the dates until mid-late april.

We would love to see Rod and Stevie in Atlanta. Our dishwasher and deepfreezer have issues and may take priority. Lauratn is sick today and had to miss work and that takes out a vacation day that we could use for Atlanta. We are hoping Stevie stops here in Knoxville in the late summer or fall.

Agreed. I was going to skip this part of Heart & Soul tour because she's said the only new song she will perform is Secret Love. The UK date has me wondering how this whole thing is going to play out. To schlep her band all the way to London for one show is mighty expensive.

And you need to read what I wrote correctly and realize that I have no problem with her going to the UK for a few weeks

Okay, that's what I'm thinking too. Don't get me wrong, people-- I LOVE that she's going to Europe, and you fans all deserve it 110%. It's just that there's been speculation about a US North American tour AFTER the Rod tour, and it wouldn't make a lot of sense to tour with him and then go solo for a less than a month before starting rehearsals with him again. I was worried that they'd extend the tour with Rod.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the UK date itself. I want more of them!

I'm praying this is what's going to happen. Other than I may be in Europe starting in September and therefore will miss a big opportunity to see some Stevie shows here. Shoot me.

I straight up asked Stevie to her face if she was going to tour this summer for IYD and she said YES and that they are starting rehearsals right after the tour with Rod. Not that her word is law and yes, things could change but I highly doubt it. I wouldn't worry quite yet Danielle.

I see the concern here it just seems that the Rod/Stevie gig could be extended?

Being from Calif. we get more then our share of concerts from Stevie. I sincerely feel for the people in UK & Europe, and do hope they get more solo show's from her.

I didn't feel or see any greediness coming from Dani's post, just concern they may extend the gig.....

Well being a Brit I would be more than happy if they do extend! Surely it would be no big deal if you get the tour later then originally thought?

Yeah, but by then she'll be all worn down by the bland English cuisine and the low-quality hotels.

I heard that Rod signed on with Caesars Palace again for two months in late summer. Has anyone heard this and know of the exact dates?

Yes, I just heard on the radio a few hours ago that Rod would be at Caesars Palace in August but they said they didn't know the exact dates.

So happy they didn't mention Stevie would be with him! :)

Its just so fantastic Stevie playing London after 22 years.:] Not my fav kind of concert, massive venue - no reserved seats - supporting Rod Stewawrt blah blah blah - much rather see a solo concert in smaller venue - but hey what the heck I don't care if she sings the same song over and over again it will be fantastic!!! Here's looking for some solo concerts before or after Hyde Park in the uk and Europe before she heads back to the US for her regular tours! Soooo excited Stevie in UK 2011:blob2:

I was going to see the UK date in Hyde Park, but I realised it wasn't worth paying the hundreds of pounds it would mean in tickets, hotels and expenses. Not when the money was being spent to sit through Rod Stewart (Fate only made pallatable in comparison with an entire Morrisey show) in order to hear Stevie clear her throat......

Hi all.Does anybody think Stevie will add a summer tour to the shed amps and Jones Beach in July.Or is she going to relax until Lindsey and Mick going to give her a buzz on her phone and till her we have to get ready for FM work.

not sure if she will play jones beach and the sheds. i think she could fill them if the orchestra seats were under $100 or if she had a good support act.

I hope she does a tour in July I am sure she will definitely will see her back in CT either at Mohegan Sun Arena or Foxwoods MGM Grand would be my guess or maybe Oakdale Thearte which I believe is the size of Foxwoods MGM Grand. My guess if she doesn't play Jones beach in NYC she will probably play the Radio City Music Hall would be my guess. I definetely see a summer tour with a new cd she makes more money on the road why not.

I will die if she comes to the Oakdale here in Wallingford. Its walking distance from my house.also I probably have a better chance on meeting her at the Oakdale like I did with alot of artists that stopped there.

Hi welcome aboard. Most of all were country artists.I've notice the country artists are more to do that then rock artists.

Toyota Presents the Oakdale Theatre seating chart.

http://www.livenation.com/seatingchart/237641/12424

the Oakdale sits 5,000. it used to sit 1,200 then to 3,000 .

I cant stand the Comcast theater {the old Meadows theater}..probably because of the unsafe parking area.

Many, including myself, don't think she can fill sheds though. Im thinking she's going to have to do smaller venues, as much as she probably doesn't want to.

The last time I saw her @ Jones Beach was in 2008 and the place was packed! Its not exactly a small venue either!

I agree partly, Stevie is bound to do some shed's in markets that are strongholds for her, southern California and East Coast in particular. So even though she's hit MSG twice with Rod, I have to believe there are enough fans in the New York area that would still love to see Stevie solo at Jones Beach easily.

The H & S tour missed my state, and area completely, I can see Stevie playing Red Rocks here in the Denver area (mid to late summer) easily as well. She played to packed audiences at RR in 05' and 07', and besides FM in 09' hasn't been back since. So I can see a sprinkling of shed outings here and there. Now, If she ends up with a huge hit on her hands with "In Your Dreams" or any of the singles blow-up, Shed's will be popping up all over.

i agree with you MacFan I am not crazy about the old meadows theater either rather see her at the casinos or Oakdale Thearte hope she will play there back in 2001 my mom and I met Chaka Khan there she was a reunion tour with her old band Rufus and they were performing with Earth Wind and Fire awesome Show and Chaka Khan was amazing down to earth woman just like Stevie was when I met her at the barnes and noble signing for the soundstage live in chicago dvd and cd release. I see Stevie Rox was there too and was so lucky to get her pic taken with Stevie awesome. I hope she comes back thru CT during the summer will be going to the show this summer cannot wait.:blob1::wavey:
