Hey all!
I'm trying, with the help of you, to have somewhat of a "complete" list of Stevie songs in various forms for us to have online. There were a few great sites back in the day and I want to upgrade the list for us to have as a resource for our Stevie collection. What I would like to do is go by song title...beginning with A and getting each on sorted out before we move on.
Good idea/bad idea?

It's an excellent idea, of course.
What do you want us to do? Just list the "A" songs that we have? Those Sara Rhiannon screen caps are a good place to start, but there's a lot of repetition and it's confusing. If we could pare that down, it would be great.

Loving this idea. Although, I wonder, if it would be at all possible to make seperate sections for each different letter on that website? A-L just blew my mind. tooooo many songs, Stevie!

Yeah. Would be easier just to go letter by letter. The one thing SaraRhianna didn't have is the length of the track. I've been plugging in the track times with what I have.
A songs...so far....please add the A songs I have missed.

The solo demo I have has Stevie starting to sing, some guy (Jimmy Iovine?) says "uh-uh" and she starts again. Definitely no interview.
I just listened, and the demo I have listed as w/ Billy Burnette starts with an interview, tho.

For some reason, I think there might be three. The Billy Burnette one, the solo one with Jimmy saying 'uh-uh-uh' in the beginning, and then maybe another one without Jimmy speaking - but that might just be an edit of the same track.

Only master reel cuts - wait, I might be confusing it with Juliet.
There was a version that was listed as an outtake and circulated, but was really just a crappy recording of the album version slowed down and sped up and passed off as an alternate.

The Stevie demo world seems like a mess right now. I just want to make it nice and tidy.

I'm not sure what you guys are doing, but I used to have my own Stevie site back in the day called Bella Diva. It's still out there in cyberspace, but I closed the front access page YEARS ago cuz I no longer had time to keep up with it. I can post links to the individual frames so you can access demo lyrics if that's what you're needing. It was Sara Maitland aka SaraRhiannon.com who helped me do all the lyric pages on my page to begin with, so most all of what you see in the demo section is the same thing you used to see on her page before it was closed down. I must warn you though... it's SERIOUSLY out of date...
http://rockgypsy.tripod.com
http://rockgypsy.tripod.com/frames.html
http://rockgypsy.tripod.com/noframes.html
You should be able to access all the areas of the site from one of those links. Enjoy! ;)
NOTE: When you're on the demo pages, you can't click the song names to see the lyrics because the old html links are broken & need re-written, so just scroll down the page to find the song you're looking for...

Yes thank you for doing this. I'll help with what I can. For me, it's so hard to discern what is different, if anything, between 5 million takes of a particular song. So ideally, I would love to see, for example, Annabel Lee - Take 1 - time - and then a few words - like more rock version than take 25 or something along those lines. Right now, I seem to download some things that are labeled differently but are really the same track and now I can't tell which song is what sometimes. i.e. Talk To Me alternative version being the same as mastermix version as the same as the version on the 1985 It's Rock N Roll hits version, etc...

Also the BN demos at 2:17; there are two of them both labeled with Vocals, Drum, Slide Guitar & Bass.
There are numerous master takes and mixes of ATGF as well.

"Angel" definitely has an outtake. Same lead vocals until after "No great pretender...", then it's different vocals for a bit, until "I still look up...". The mix is also very different.
There are many outtake vocals of "After The Glitter Fades". This will take some time. Some of those "Take 5", etc., are the exact as the album, but some are true outtakes.
"All The King's Horses" has two from 1980, as well as a Rock A Little era version.

I always went there for info on Stevie than I ever did to the Nixsfix. I loved the lyrics pages and the photos and the album pages for Stevie solo and FMac. I did miss some to print though which still bums me out. I was so saddened when it went away. Buckingham/Nicks is a good site too with lyrics of released and unreleased material too. Anyway, just wanted to say that I agree with you about the sararhiannon site. I'd still go to it today if it was up and running.:distress:

A few thoughts ~
Since we're trying to make this an unofficial official resource, can we do away with the multiple fan~madeup titles, like freakin' "Mistress Of My Fate"? Stevie copyrighted "The Dealer" several times between 1979 and 1981, and there is not one single "Mistress Of My Fate" in there, or listed on any of the Masters. It's "The Dealer".
Do away with poor descriptions like "Wall Of Sound Demo" for "Thrown Down". It is a fully~produced outtake from Trouble In Shangri~la, included on the rare 16~track version. Same with "Blues Demo" for "Beauty And The Beast" ~ all of Fleetwood Mac is there on this recording, which is included on the same Master with the completed versions of Stevie's 5 songs on Tusk. It's an outtake from Tusk or a Tusk~era full~band studio recording.
If a song has a title, do away with old guessed~at titles. Make it:
Goodbye Baby
~Piano demo
~Rumours demo
~TISL demo #1
~TISL demo #2
~ Trouble In Shangri~la album version
~ Trouble In Shangri~la extended album version
... and so forth, and not dragging "The Tower" into this. Same with "Goodbye Baby".
"Lady From The Mountains" has an "S" at the end! :)

"The Maker Of Birds" is the copyrighted title, not "Three Birds Of Rhiannon".
"Forsaken Love" is the multiple~copyrighted title, not "Mistaken Love".

I agree w/ Mike (more or less) about the guessed-at/made-up titles. Also, there should be more of a distinction between demo, outtake, etc. The Tusk version of BATB is not a "demo," and neither is Smile at You, ATBW, or the completed Shangri-La version of Thrown Down.

I swear I can remember seeing the title "Arabesque" on some old demo lists a long time ago, But I've never heard of anyone who's actually heard the song. Does anyone know if this actually exists? I only thought of it because I read somewhere that the old movie with Sophia Loren is coming out on DVD this week. If it's a real track, I'm guessing Stevie based it on this movie?
