i buy alot of my concert tickets the day before or the day of. if i cant find anything on the ticketmaster site i will go to stubhub or some type of broker like that. usually if i can hold out till 3 or later i can get seats alot less than face value. i just saw bon jovi on 2/11 in pittsburgh and got 2 floor seats that were about 10th row for $220 and the face value on those was closer to $320.

I bought my tix on ticketmaster 3 hours before the show the other night, so I paid face value. I kept holding out hoping that some better seats would pop up, but no luck.
I ended up with a decent seat- front row of the Loge towards the back just before the curve, so I had a good view of the stage.
There were a lot of tixs on Stubhub for the 4/6 show. Also check Craigslist.

I got my seat at MSG on Saturday the afternoon of. Same price as they would've been a week prior. I'm toying with the idea of going Wednesday, after work, sans ticket, unless I come to my senses. I'm absolutely certain good seats will be available right before the show.

 I'm just over from London on business so was so lucky to catch this MSG show tonight...I have to say though it seemed to be so Rod's crowd. :distress: The venue was less than half full when she came on and my section seemed to spend her first 5 songs finding their seats, ordering hot dogs and chatting.... Never mind she was wonderful, but not having a true Stevie crowd around me left me feeling a little cold....Hope Hyde Park London will give her a massive British welcome!:xoxo:

No doubt it was a Rod crowd...but stevie was great! Some highlights...
1. In secret love she messed up the beginning but she did use "salvation" which made up for it
2. No fall from grace, but she ended with Rock n Roll after Love is....you could see her cute little self running really quick to go get her top hat for it!
3. Love Is was....amazing!!!! However i think for these rod shows she should play it safe with Has Anyone...

I have to admit that these two geezers are keeping us on our toes! I was expecting a total carbon copy of the first MSG show, but it was actually quite a bit different! Mama definitely surprised us by not performing "Fall From Grace" and ending with "Rock and Roll," which is kind of unprecedented for her since she always ends the show with a ballad (except for the Timespace Tour!). I have to admit that I much preferred this second MSG show- she seemed to be much looser and her vocal problems (yes, I think she may have been a little hoarse at the start of the tour) seem to have improved greatly.
Even Rod's set was quite different. He's added "Some Guys Have All the Luck," which is really one of the handful of Rod songs that I actually like. But "You Wear it Well" was dropped. And of course L&L was added, etc.
Oh, and I caught a Rod ball! I'd rather have a Stevie ball, but one Rod ball is better than no ball at all. Boy were people getting their haterade on when I was leaving with it.
Oh, and I've got some serious HD video for y'all! It turned out really, really fantastic. But it will take about two days to upload. Seriously. But it will be worth the wait.

meh - although I'm glad she ends with an upbeat song does it have to be Rock N Roll over one of her own songs? Please go back to opening with FFG and end with Stand Back. Oh and by the way she did not end with a rocker on the Whole Lotta Trouble (Timespace) Tour. The encores were Rhiannon and then Landslide so she did end with a ballad. However, in my recollection the only time she did end with a rocker was the Two Voices Tour when she and Don Henley finished with So You Wanna Be A Rock N Roll Star?

Ah... long nets of white (and some myeloid plaques in my brain!) cloud my memory... For some reason I thought "Rhiannon" was the closer, but, yes, come to think of it, "Landslide" was the closer for Timespace. And yes, SYWBARARS was the closer for Two Voices; but that doesn't count because it was technically a Don-Stevie closer, not a Stevie solo closer. :p Splitting hairs, I know...
Anyway, I got some kind of Java run time error overnight, so I'm not sure if the video uploaded properly... I hope to find out in about an hour...

Thank You HejiraNYC!:) The pictures and the vid are great. Nice to see Leather & Lace coming along and Stevie sounds real good on this. Love her harmony in the chorus as usual. She should bring it back into her solo set and sing it with the girls. That would be a real full circle moment. Now, they just need to retire Young Turks, and do First Cut Is The Deepest or Reasons To Believe...and the train will be back on track.
Its mentioned a lot, but in every video I've seen on the H&S tour, my intuition tells me, these two just flat out have no chemistry! They're heading in the right direction with adding L&L. But, with barely any eye exchange during L&L, or smiling back and forth. That's just very unlike Stevie when she sings a duet with someone, to the point that watching it is almost distracting, even if the singing is good. Rod seems very sincere to her, but her body language give her feelings away. Thank heaven this U.S.tour is half-way over and can't help but think Stevie feels the same way. It just makes me long for her to be solo or share the stage with Dave Stewart - someone she obviously adores and trusts very much. It makes a big difference.

I couldn't agree more. I really think the problem is, there is no history between them. There's no long lost love, or a relationship gone awry,or anything that she could pull from to get that reaction. You know Stevie is all about the love, drama, etc. Her and Rod have none of it, so, it seems awkward at best for them to connect on an intimate level ! I long for the days of a good ole angry Silver Springs sung directly to Lindsey. Now THAT'S chemistry ! ;)
HejiraNYC
04-07-2011, 10:41 AM
I think Stevie has better chemistry with the back-up singers than with Rod. Although, admittedly "Young Turks" is not a "sing-at-each-other" kind of song. Still, looking at each other every once in a while would be nice. But at the end of the day, it looks like Stevie is out there dancing, smiling and having fun. And a year ago, who woulda thunk she'd be singing "L&L" with Rod Stewart in 2011? I think all of this unexpected new-ness, on top of a cr@pload of new songs is just... part of the comedy of riches any Stevie fan will be enjoying this year.
Annabell Lee

I think so too ! It seems like a good year to be a Stevie fan ! We def. can't always say that. We're getting more new stuff from her this year than ever. I am absolutely soaking it all in, i love it !! :blob1:

Two Rockers, Old Hits And Reasons to BelieveBy BEN RATLIFF

The “Heart & Soul” tour, a pairing of Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks, is pure nostalgia, a valentine for the middle-aged and what they listened to from 1976 to 1978. Not a judgment, just a fact. But the really outmoded part about the concert is that the link between them is the radio.
Remember the radio? We submitted to it completely. It made the connections for us. Besides Los Angeles, teased blond hair and a tremendous talent for the exaggerated courtly stage bow, what Mr. Stewart and Ms. Nicks really have in common is that they are singer-songwriters, articulating consciousness through words and melody, and they are fundamentally different at that job.
Ms. Nicks, 62, who performed first at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, is the goddess of indirection. “Do you know what this is?” she sang in “Love Is.” “No I don’t/but whatever it is/it’s very powerful.” This could be her organizing principle. The referents of her lyrics flicker in and out; she suddenly omits the subject of a sentence, asks a rhetorical question or moves from first to third person without warning. Most pop songwriters don’t do this anymore. But Ms. Nicks is a woman who can put on a black shawl, raise her arms and spin, and the audience roars. Whatever that is, it’s very powerful.
Wednesday’s set was a tight group of greatest hits, so there was “Edge of Seventeen”: “Just like the white winged dove/sings a song, sounds like she’s singing.” And “Sorcerer”: “All around black ink darkness/and who found the lady from the mountains?” Who or what is like the dove? Who did find the lady? Essentially it’s you: the listener and her own experiences fill the gap between what is to be understood and what is not.
Ms. Nicks’s voice narrowed a long time ago, forcing her to write melodic detours away from the upper register, but her sound and phrasing remain the same. She drones and under-enunciates, the better to be misunderstood, and with several band members who have been a constant for decades — the guitarist Waddy Wachtel and the percussionist Lenny Castro — she fitted the songs to the audience’s memory.
People forget that Mr. Stewart, now 66, is a songwriter: he’s been privileging people’s material for so long and so effectively — not just the last decade of his “Great American Songbook” albums, but also his previous covers of the Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Tim Hardin, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and others. Let’s treat it all as one project. He seems to.
As opposed to Ms. Nicks, there’s usually a straight-forward narrative in Mr. Stewart’s songs and the ones he chooses to cover; there’s also very little wondering or regret. As for love, he hungers, consumes, dispatches. Sometimes he fails: oh, well. (He’s good at cheery leave-takings: “Maggie Mae,” “Forever Young.”) He sees no crystal visions.
Mr. Stewart’s voice is pretty damaged, too, sometimes dropping beneath the line of audibility as his longer set wore on, swerving away from high notes and turning to a wheeze. But of course he’s had a rough voice forever, and the whole point of Rod Stewart is finessing a light engagement with one’s own material. In a succession of bright raw-silk jackets, he swiveled and high-stepped just enough to convey that he was having an all-right time, while his band and production provided the rest: a rugged rhythm section, tall female soloists in red dresses (on trumpet, tenor saxophone and fiddle), and a stage like an enormous mid-’60s television show set, clean and beautifully lit.
The stars performed two songs together, unexcitingly, during Mr. Stewart’s set — his “Young Turks,” her “Leather and Lace.” But whereas Ms. Nicks remained her own entity, Mr. Stewart traced his enthusiasms to and connections for what came before and around him. He sang songs by Sam Cooke and Chuck Berry and Hardin and Mr. Waits, and repped once again for the Celtic Football Club, as he’s been doing since the early ’70s. It’s unclear who’s heart and who’s soul. But it is clear who’s an idol and who’s a fan.

I'll tell you somthing... that performance HAS Tour MSG is unbelievable. She is so ON and into it. I just noticed she sang the very first word just like the white album....the way she annunciates it! I know this sounds corny but her vocal is better than years past.
