We'll get it when we get it. We've gone this long with nothing new, another day for an audience-shot video isn't going to hurt anyone.

I think that poster is someone else that was at the show that said they would post "Secret Love' as well .The friend of AliceLover apparently caught the video on cam.

Normally, I would say that she's nowhere near close to having to hang it up.
However, the fact that she has been relying on the same setlist since 2005, and it's taken her 10 years to do anything something new creatively...then if that pattern continues, then I think that she should absolutely hang it up, touring-wise. I would never want her to stop recording new music...but only if she doesn't wait another ten years.
I'm still holding out hope that if/when there is a proper "In Your Dreams" tour, she might shake things up a bit. I'm expecting, at most 4-5 new songs...and, god willing, maybe one or two older songs to surprise us. "Love Is" was a decent surprise back in the August 2010 shows...but what was the last "treat" before that? Beauty and the Beast/If Anyone Falls/How Still back in 2005 (or was it 2007?). Granted, we did get "Storms" for the Unleashed tour.
I'm just rambling now. Out of frustration.

I don't know. I have a feeling there will be a bad twist this year. Maybe Rod will battle sickness for the next month or something else will go wrong. I'm already sick of waiting on the video. This album is starting to be more of a chore then a gift. All the waiting and still don't know if it's worth it. I can't believe the video or tease is not out yet. The only people who are waiting for it are her hardcore fans. Why treat it as an event, when the only people who care are us? Get it out there already.

I don't want her to EVER hang up recording :).
But like you said, unless she majorly shakes up her touring act, I just don't get what the point is anymore. She'll add 3 new songs at MOST if she does a proper solo IYD tour. She won't change anything else... we'll have no other album rarities on top of the new IYD songs.
I wanted so badly to hear Storms live a couple of years back, but just couldn't justify $175 for ONE song. Because otherwise, it was same sh!t different day. I mean, I was sooo glad she pulled that song outta the dustbin, and Beautiful Child back in '03. Same with Love Is last year. But ONE lowly album cut per year is just pitiful and downright infuriating.

Everything will rest and fall on how this album sounds when we get it in less than 6 weeks. If it is really her best album since The Wild Heart and as good as I think it might be ,at least for this fan of 25 years all will be forgiven.

Everyone knows this Rod- tour thing is a money grab, as callous as that sounds. Teaming artists together is common these days, as we all know, because the economy sucks and everyone wants more bang for their buck.
I bet the solo gigs will have more variety because she will a) have more time on stage, and b) be more willing to do more brand new material because it'll be closer to the album drop.

Holy hell...that "Secret Love" shirt may be the single most ugly piece of "merchandise" I have ever seen. I thought the "Lucky Charms" Gold Dust Tour shirt was bad.
I bet the crew have nicer t shirts than that thing. I think I love the BATB shirt though. The whole secrecy with the new songs and album is starting to border on ridiculous. It drops in a month.

Everyone knows this Rod- tour thing is a money grab, as callous as that sounds.
It's definitely a money grab... but it's one I just don't quite understand. Stevie has been doing solely money grabs since 2005. It's not like she needs the cash. And her singing ONE song from her new album isn't exactly selling herself to this (partially) new captive audience. It seems this whole Rod tour is going to throw a wrench in a proper solo tour for her to support her new album too. She can't hit the same market twice in one year.
I hate often sounding so negative, but it's just been maddening being a Stevie fan post Say You Will. Hell, even before that! It just seems like countless opportunities for forward motion have been lost since the Dance. Look at the other artists who are Stevie's age who have mixed things up and done quirky creative things. Eric Clapton did a concept blues album some years back and toured arenas performing only songs from that album. He hasn't lost all his fanbase for doing something like that, and neither would Stevie! Her fears are just so irrational! I bet she'd even loosen up her demeanor onstage if she did something creatively quirky versus these never ending cash grabs.

Aside from Rock and Roll, which I detest, I'm pretty ok with the setlist. It will be interesting to see if another new song makes the cut after the album is released. For instance will the solo Atlantic City show have some surprises? That will be pretty exciting.

Seriously, I get everyone's frustration over her set list - and I've voiced the same complaints but she is not going to get new fans playing her obscure album cuts. If people are going to relate to her at all it's only going to be through her hits, songs they are familiar with. She knows what she's doing. We can't expect her to play a set just for her hardcore fans! ;)

Then why not open with Stop Dragging My Heart or I Can't Wait? I think people are probably more familiar with those two songs instead of Fall from Grace. Wasn't Stop Draggin' her biggest solo hit?
How about Talk to Me and Rooms on Fire over Sorcerer... I love Sorcerer, but it slows down the set from my point of view.. it was a single, but not a hit - there is a difference.
just thinking.. if we are talking about a "hits" show.. but I will end by saying I'm getting excited about the MSG show on Saturday...

Well, that certainly turned into a bit of a whiney old thread, didn't it?
Y'know, Stevie Nicks can do what she wants. You don't have to pay a cent to support her, if you don't want to falsely encourage her in all these terrible artistic mistakes. But spare a thought for those of us who've never had a chance to get bored of her setlist, because she hasn't played solo on our continent in more than two decades. Maybe you've been a little spoiled and need to step away from the Stevie for a bit?
Personally, at this point in my fandom and her lifespan, the woman could turn up in a shellsuit and sing a solid hour of Peter frickin Frampton covers and I'd still buy a ticket. :blob1:

I don't buy saying people saying this Rod's audience and not hers. These people are older and fans of rock n roll. They haven't been under for 40 years and I'm sure some people were there just for her. She was a huge selling point anyway.
I will say this. If they didn't do duets, I"m sure that was Rod's fault. She has talked about it a lot. Maybe the flu really effected him too much to practice. They don't get along when it comes to how they rehearse anyway. She likes to rehearse and he doesn't want any part of it.

Something tells me though that maybe Rod isn't as strong. After watching some of his videos from this, I get the sense he might not make it.

I've been thinking, maybe Stevie doesn't shake it up because she's very aware of how old she is, and she can't tour forever, so, and this may be morbid, she might constantly be in a "if this is the last tour I do..." frame of mind, where she thinks that, if this happened to be her last tour, and she didn't perform the "hits" then people would never forgive her. Or something.
That, or she's just very stubborn and set in her ways now. Despite her tired, tired, tiiiired, set list, her tours continue to sell; so if it ain't broke, why fix it?
Also, I'm skeptical about her bringing out any other obscure album cuts for her solo tour. I think Love Is is the obscure song for this era. Perhaps the next tour after the IYD tour, she might bring out another one. I'm also thinking Secret Love may be permanent, and another album track from IYD might replace Sorceror or If Anyone Falls, or alternate with one of them.
Pretty disappointed she didn't do a duet with Rod, but, if he has the flu, then I don't blame her. Still, despite my whingeing, I fully understand why she's sticking to such a stale setlist for this joint tour. And, apart from her hard-core fans, Fall From Grace, Sorcerer, Love Is would be seen as "obscure album tracks" for most casual fans, I guess.

I'm surprised at the level of disappointment in her lack of "shaking things up" with this setlist. No way in hell is Stevie going to play an unusual setlist for a show she is co-headlining. I think she chose great songs to give to a large audience that is maybe halfway filled with her fans. She looks fantastic and performed her brand new song; go Stevie!
I'm also somewhat shocked at anyone suggesting she quit or slow down with her touring. I understand everyone has a right to an opinion, so please don't even go there. I'm just always taken aback by the level of negativity and criticism when Stevie does makes any kind of move (tour, album, hairdo, etc).

My only request, really, would be to remove Rock n Roll. She cut Sara, Enchanted, How Still My Love from her standard set to keep Rock n Roll?! I guess she considers that a good follow up to Eo17. But it's actually just a letdown. I agree with the person who recommended following Eo17 with FFG. Then open with Stand Back, followed by Enchanted. All is right with the world. Or plug in HSML somewhere (I think that's such a sultry, hypnotic live track--yes, I've been converted). I'm fine with cutting Sara. On the Unleashed tour, the participation of Lindsey just totally completes the song. Those are the definitive live versions (kinda like how she CAN'T do silver springs or gypsy solo).
With the sublime Love Is as the final song... that would actually be a perfect 12(?)-track setlist. So it's funny. I'm basically considering not going to MSG this weekend just because of RnR.

No Stevie yet...BTW the person I'm texting is 10KRedSolids here on the ledge. Make sure you thank him too!
Wow. Talk about a dull setlist. Where the hell is Reason To Believe? Stay With Me? Mandolin Wind? Wait a minute - no Maggie May? Impossible, so maybe you didn't have time to update Jimmy? Or your friend forgot. No matter. Appreciate that you did this for everyone.
Anyone got the Secret Love footage, yet. That's all I care about.
Me too.
No duets....Show over
 I can't help but laugh. And say I told you (not you specifically) so.
i feel like rod was sick so they couldn't but come on! rod said that they wouldn't let people down by not duetting.
So Rod is just like Stevie - says things in interviews & then doesn't do them?
A thought just occured to me that maybe, just maybe the reason why there were no duets could be because Stevie doesn't want to be in such close proximity to Rod in fear she might catch his flu. Perhaps when he truly feels better, maybe a week or two from now she will share a mic with him by then.
Way to think on the bright side, but they could have done a duet 30 feet apart.
Holy hell...that "Secret Love" shirt may be the single most ugly piece of "merchandise" I have ever seen. I thought the "Lucky Charms" Gold Dust Tour shirt was bad.
"Hey...I have an idea for a shirt? You know how Stevie's single is called 'Secret Love'? Let's put those words on the back of a shirt." - Chris Nicks, no doubt.
What a f*cking disaster.
LOL. I'm with you - I literally guffawed when I saw the lips. But nothing - NOTHING - will ever top the Lucky Charms shirt.
That is actually the front of the Secret Love shirt. Below the lips it says "Shhhhh" and on the back is where it says SECRET LOVE.
"Shhhhhhh?" Even better!
I know how you feel. I'm not really upset, more annoyed. Enchanted Tour was such a treat (which I missed & still regret, btw.) TISL tour she sang a bunch of songs off that album. The B&tB/IAF/HSML WAS '05 - in Vegas. But since then? I agree, pretty dull.
True dat.
Seriously, I get everyone's frustration over her set list - and I've voiced the same complaints but she is not going to get new fans playing her obscure album cuts. If people are going to relate to her at all it's only going to be through her hits, songs they are familiar with. She knows what she's doing. We can't expect her to play a set just for her hardcore fans! ;)
Most people here aren't saying that - we're bitching for hits! Where are ROF, ICW, TTM, even Seven Wonders? Most people (aka casual fans/Rod fans) would recognize all of those tunes.
Agreed.
:blob1:
You shut up over there!
 I'm kidding. I know what you mean. I'm not surprised, and I'm not upset, and I truly do feel lucky to have seen her live so many times. But at this point I'll be happy to watch the Youtube clips.
I really don't want to be negative. But I can't lie & say I'm not a teeny bit disappointed.

You know - you can't blame the two entirely. I'm sure there were a lot of factors for why there weren't duets and I can pretty much bank on the fact that at some point they will have to do a song together. It would be easier for Rod to do a duet of Stevie's songs because Stevie already knows the song and her vocals, and Rod doesn't like to practice so he'll just come right on stage and start singing it. Who knows?
Also - remember the first show of the Unleashed Tour? Stevie looked like a nervous wreck. She seemed most of the time really cold and frigid and I remember how everyone was bitching that she hardly twirled during Stand Back. But as the tour went on she was back to herself again.
I think this is going to be one of those wait and see kinda things...maybe Atlanta will be better tonight.

Werd. The biggest naysayers seem to be those individuals who have not seen her in the last few years, if ever. I still think she's great as a live performer and all of the firsthand accounts and media reviews seem to agree. She's a different performer than she was 30 years ago, but who wasn't different 30 years ago? She's still got a voice, she's still beautiful and she still knows how to rock. That's good enough for me. I'm there.
Sure the setlist is a bit stale, but this is the show that she has "perfected" over the past six years. She doesn't perform in order to exorcise any artistic demons or to explore new territory; she does it to entertain... and make some money while she's at it. This is nothing new. She has never been known to play a different set every night. She has never played a show after 1977 that didn't feature "Dreams." The reason her setlists have been stagnant is simply because she hasn't toured behind any new solo material in 10 years. And now that she does have new solo material, she will shake up the setlist when the album comes out... following the same pattern she's followed for the past 30 years. Yes, people have a right to be disappointed. But I don't think it's fair to automatically assume it's because Stevie is lazy or because she is creatively bankrupt. She is just doing her job.

I don't think it's time for her to stop touring, unless she's just physically not able to do it. (Or if she's just not enjoying it anymore.)
My man, Sammy Hagar, is 64 years young and he still tours like nobody's business and he is not showing any signs of letting up anytime soon. B.B. King is well over 80 years and he still does dozens and dozens of shows each year. There are many more examples out there.
I saw Stevie in Santa Barbara last year and she owned the place when she took the stage. This nonsense about 'age' is way overrated.

I don't know that I buy that. Considering the amount of songs that she *has* performed before, but has not touched in 10-15 years minimum, her lack of "new solo material" should have no bearing on the fact that, for the past 6 years, she has really only done the same 10 songs.
Give the "casuals" the favorites like Edge, Rhiannon, Dreams, DGW, Landslide, Stand Back. Those are six songs I'd say she, unfortunately, cannot drop.
But what's keeping her from doing Rooms on Fire (she did it in 2000, so it's not like it's out of the realm of possibility)? After the Glitter Fades. Nightbird. Planets of the Universe. I could keep going.
My point is, there are a lot of songs that she could drop from her set that the casual fans that she absolutely needs to please would not miss: Fall From Grace. Sorcerer. Rock and Roll. Enchanted. How Still My Love. If Anyone Falls.

These folks just want to hear the hits. Plain and simple. During her solo gigs, Stevie can play more new songs and the crowd will be more receptive. It's just that simple.
Stevie might come back to some of these cities on her solo tour if her contract doesn't prevent it. Some artists do this quite often. And she wouldn't be playing big arenas; she'd be playing the smaller theatres/concert halls.

I was thinking the same, but like you, chalked it up to her infamous anxiety of performing new material. She seemed to really be selling it more through her pantomimes, instead I feel she needs to concentrate on her singing & phrasing. But on the positive side, Stevie looks SO good!! And Secret Love transfers to stage pretty well, esp since this is the opening night. It'll get even better :) I'm sure in person it sounded EVEN more superior. I've seen her on every tour since RAL. There have been shows where I felt the same way (going through the motions) and there have been shows where I've been moved to tears by her intensity (even if it's only a flash of intensity).
I think it's a bit presumptuous to say "it's time to stop". What if she loves touring and hates recording? It's HER career and her life- we don't get to control how she chooses to live it.

Earlier on, I did mention the fact that she spent years "perfecting" the current stage show. My point was that the only reason she would change up a show she had "perfected" was if she was touring behind new material. Regardless of whether or not some of the songs in her set were big hits, she has built up a core set of songs that she knows she can deliver and that audiences seem to receive well. I would imagine that it's very, very demoralizing to be a performer and singing songs that go over the audience like a lead balloon. That's why her cover songs have generally been upbeat rockers- she wants to put on a fun rock show and keep the navel-gazing reflection to a minimum; remember, she begrudgingly brought "Landslide" back into the set after it was out for a long time. And even as far back as Bella Donna she was covering "I Need to Know" and demanding that Tom Petty give her a hard rocking song rather than the slow burning "Insider." Her work as a recording artist and as a live performer are quite different, which may explain why she shies away from performing much of her catalogue in concert.

I agree, and I've seen every tour starting with RAL as well, so that's a helluva lotta Stand Backs!! We haven't even gotten In Your Dreams, chalk full of 13 newly recorded tracks & probably a bonus track, and people are already sayin' Stevie go back into the recording studio. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you also have the choice to just enjoy the new record, and not attend the tours. Because strap yourself in, Stevie is going to go for all the touring $$ while she still can, even if some presume she doesn't need the money. And next stop ahead is another FM tour in the next couple of years. We can only hope and pray that Stevie & Lindsey agree on an outside producer and record one more FM album.
On the other hand I can empathize with some who became fans since The Dance, because there's been such long periods with no new material. Having been a fan beginning with Bella Donna, I was lucky to have a decade worth of new releases almost every year except 84' & 86'.

^ I just saw it too - I like it live much better than the studio version.
I agree with you there.

Cher has started using it she even asked for people to submit songs (for her Tour this year ) they want to hear ,, that are not hits she already knows that .

Actually after watching this video, she seems strong and ready for this, I like her little melting dance throughout. Her head seems squared off though from her hair. Something tells me though that maybe Rod isn't as strong. After watching some of his videos from this, I get the sense he might not make it.

Her vocal is a tad pitchy in some parts
It's actually much less pitchy than I predicted it would be. However, the entire vocal is flat, flat, flat. I don't get what the point of her fancy little ear monitor is if it doesn't help her out with these issues?
Despite my vocal grievances, I adore her passion in this performance . You can see it in her eyes, you can see it in her movements... she's really into it! It's been quite some time since we've seen Stevie get into one of her songs!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Secret Love live! I cannot wait to see it in just over a month! Stevie looks and sounds fabulous and healthy. I was not expecting anything more from her set list than Secret Love so I'm a happy camper. I will say however it's a little disappointing there was no duetting but nothing could ever stop me from going to see my Stevie. I'm just loyal to the core and to be honest I'd pay to see her stand up there and yodel for 2 hours. Sure I have things I'd love for her to sing but one can hope and wish and let's be realistic here - the majority of people that go to see her live in concert are not hard-core fans. I'm just full of gratitude that I became a fan in time to see her live so many times and the fact that she's 62 and still touring. Gosh, I love my girl more than ever. You hit that, Lily!

I'm going to withhold final judgment until we get more and better quality videos :). I remember when I saw the first video of Love Is last year I was heartbroken and dismayed. But then someone uploaded a different video the next night which changed my entire opinion. Bottom line: I REALLY like the energy of this performance .

OMG hilarious, that's exactly what it is and you just made me crack up! I was thinking the same thing. I predicted she would do a hand motion when singing "tears". And more about the pantomime (LMFAO at that word) - the only thing that really bothers me about it is that she only users her upper body, nothing from the hips down. If you're going to pantomime put your whole body into it, not just your arms! Then again I can't expect her to be dancing across the stage but still, move them hips a lil more Stevie!

I hear you re: pantomime. I get annoyed at her literal translations of words through movement...a bit too pre-school instructor for my taste.. but I'll chalk it up to first night jitters vis-a-vis singing a brand new song to a crowd of people who are not necessarily her fans and could care less.
However, I liked her more natural movements and how she was acting with her eyes a bit.

She does this all the time now. Stand Back on Ellen was ridic: "standing in a line" and then she motioned as if she were lining up dolls. lol
Whenever she does "Sara" live, she makes the phone motion to the ear during "call me" (which I never took to be literal...) and she even now does it like she's opening a cell phone and dialing before she puts it to her ear.
Maybe she's really into charades the last decade.

There's a side of me that hopes that the Stevie-on-Oprah situation is a ruse to lure Stevie onto the set, where she will be ambushed and forced to undergo a drastic makeover. I recall before the first vegas 5/05 shows, Stevie said she & Margi were going to raid her closet & trunks & bringing out old capes & hats & clothes & stuff. All we got was the B&tB cloak (which WAS f*cking cool, but still - that was it.) I suppose the white ruffled skirt & large top hat that first appeared in summer '06 ('07?) was also a surprise.
I've said it 100 times before, black is no longer slimming when there are 12 layers of it (if that is really the reason she always wears balck on stage.)PLEASE . PUT ON ANY OTHER COLOR. Love it except for the fact that Stevie feels it necessary to YELL into the microphone. She does know it amplifies her voice doesn't she? There is no need to yell mamma! I think all of her performances would be better if she learned that she could sing her songs into the mic instead of belting them out as loud as she can.

Agreed. I've said it before, but I think she could look stunning in chocolate brown. Though Stevie's never really been an earth tones kinda gal  . I realize it's the backlighting that makes the dress/sleeves appear brown, but here's what I'm talking about:
http://www.eurythmics.me.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Stevie-Nicks-Dave-Stewart-In-Your-Dreams.jpg
She even has some sort of cream underlay across her chest. Again, I realize the dress/sleeves are black and it's the backlighting causing them to appear brown, but just look how gorgeous she'd look in brown! I even think the striped look on the batwings is fantastic. Why can't she bring out these sorts of rich colors and textures for her stage outfits?

Agreed. Perhaps being on Oprah would encourage her to break out all her feathers, beads & wigs and go crazy! :woohoo: But I also, wouldn't be at all surprised if she wore the same get-ups she wore on Ellen in January - studded leggings included. Yes, I'm getting cynical, though I love this woman to death.
My one wish for Stevie, if she appears on O and performs, Is that she does a song (like Landslide or HAEWAFY) that she can meticulously & in every aspect nail it to the floor vocally! I would hate for her to show up on such a HUGE show and pull another shaky Ellen performance.

I did love her hair and she looked rested and good in the Secret Love fan video posted, but that black ruffled skirt and Hefty trash bag leggings have to GO. She has much more flashier stage wear than these awful getups the past few years. Hopefully she's saving (new things) for her own tour but even still, another big gripe I have of Stevie is she lets too many good opportunities pass her by to really get out there and shine, be it her outfits and clothes and whole unique appeal she could show off to people. Point being I AM GOING TO SCREAM if we've waited 25 years for her to appear on Oprah or something that great, and she comes out in the same awful studded pants or black ruffled outfit and that's what we get forever that moment, on tape to remember.

I feel every right to call them out! Believe me, if Apple said, "You can watch video on the iPod" and you went out and bought it and it didn't play video, you'd be pissed! Without me paying Stevie Nicks for anything, they wouldn't be getting anything! They may not owe us anything, but they chose to announce things such as "Working on clothes for Stevie's next tour!" so is it wrong for us to say, umm what the hell? New tour... no new clothes? Nope.

Paula, check the first post of this thread. The whole set is there...

Lol I am sorry. I shell out my money to support these people, so when they tell us a Secret Love music video is coming soon, or new clothes are coming, or the Rod and Stevie are doing some duets together, and they don't? I feel every right to call them out! Believe me, if Apple said, "You can watch video on the iPod" and you went out and bought it and it didn't play video, you'd be pissed! And it'd be ridiculous for Apple to then say, "OMG! It has only been out for a few days! We are rolling that software out soon!" To me, it is false advertisement. Don't give people the impression that something is happening at a certain time and then get pissy because they call you out for failure to deliver.
In a sense true, but Margi could make Stevie a gazillion new outfits but it's still up to Stevie to wear them each night. I like that Stevie's her own person and no one's ever told her what to do but I also think of people like Miranda Lambert in a recent article of Country Weekly talking about her career and high peak in music right now and how she handles it all and she said something to the effect of "I have a great manager, great management.." They tell me where to be and what to wear and how it takes a lot off of her. Granted she's fresh and young and riding a recent career high this past year and Stevie's already done all that, but sometimes I wish Stevie did have people picking out her clothes for us because it seems Stevie's stuck in a 10 year rut and comfortable and doesn't seem to realize it or know any better. That's the point I'm trying to make.

Ever since 2005 (the Vegas disappointment), I've learned to not get upset. It is what it is. Stevie changes very LITTLE of her live show. It's just the way it is. At least we got a new single and a new album (I never thought I would say that again).

After one show, I would say that it probably is. After all, it's not her call what/when Stevie uses any new stuff that she makes for her.
Or the other possibility, and this is my true hope, is that Stevie and her camp don't really view this Rod tour as anything worthy of "new" and that the IYD tour will be the time to go all-out with the new stuff.

Yeah, but she's become a caricature of herself these days with these horrible dresses and reeboks. She could at least find more stylish footwear that's also comfy.
And what has happened to the batwings? That's supposed to be Stevie's signature item! Now she only unfurls them for the last 30 seconds of Rhiannon, then runs off to remove them.

I personally asked her to her face in San Diego and she said absolutely yes and that they would start rehearsals right after the tour with Rod but I've learned over the years that Stevie's word is not law and that the road to heaven is paved with good intentions...
I still believe there will be an official IYD tour announcement.
About what I expected from the virtual "Non- Tour Tour". A lot of the songs she's been doing for the last several years with "Secret Love" thrown in. Doesn't make sense to pull out all the stops on a tour where Stevie is the opening act, when she should do that later in the year for the IYD tour. But I am surprised, and somewhat disappointed that Stevie and Rod didn't deliver on the duets, at least not yet.
Thanks to everyone for the setlist information, the video, and the pics! Much appreciated! :wavey:

Well, Dave keep gets tweeted about the video. He tweeted again SOON. Of course it's going to be soon, we only have 5 weeks left. One would of thought that someone would of got it on film at the concert. That would of satisfied some people, but apparantly not. I think he is going to go on tranqulizers after fans get through with him. It's not his fault if Warners won't release it. I'm thinking now that we won't get the video or anything more until two weeks before the album comes out.

She should wear the outfit from that video more often. I think it was beautiful. I guess it has to be very hard to balance comfort, and clothes that she thinks people expect her to wear, especially as she gets older. I'd love to see her wear her hair a little shorter also, but I'm sure that's not going to happen!

I sorta agree, WB seems to be holding their cards close to the vest. They may be thinking the video will have more impact on IYD sales closer to the release date. Though I don't agree at THIS point. And I still hope I'm wrong. I don't really want my 1st view of this video to be a 2nd hand shot from a backdrop from this concert tour. But I'll still take what I can get.

Exactly what most fans expect from her instead of all those ruffled messes. I don't know who dresses her these days but if I'm paying good money I expect the Stevie (as far as iconic dress) that I've always known. I don't expect her to act 30 again but she could still wear amazing clothing live. Some fans must not care as much and will pay for anything and it's their money but maybe us older ones hold the bar a little higher for her. It is why I held out on these new shows until I see what this tour of hers is gonna bring.

I'm quite sure that's Rod's stage design of choice, and that's exactly the way it'll stay the entire tour. After all, he is the boss man for this tour, and Stevie's the opening act.
Not to mention, I'm sure there wouldn't be time for an Edge walk during the set anyway, because Stevie's performing a much shortened opening act setlist. She's got a very limited time to be onstage before she has to exit for the main act. Why waste an extra 10 minutes for the Edge walk?

I must say that despite her outfit being the same as the Unleashed tour, and those disgusting Reeboks, Stevie looked FANTASTIC last night. Love that haircut - wispier, blonder...very pretty. Face and make-up? Flawless. And definitely noticeably thinner too. In the arms and the narrower waist.
Subtle changes to her top and finger-sparklies did not make the 'Boks or the unchanged outfit any less forgivable though. Here's hoping her and Margie and the gang have like, actually come up with something NEW for the In Your Dreams tour.
All gravy though.

Although I can see that Fall From Grace could be a great encore pacing-wise following Edge, I vehemently agree and think it's a strategical coup for her to open with it. This song when later in the set was almost always ignored cuz no one knew it, or they needed to go piss out their beer, or cuz just the fact that attention spans are not what they used be - so beginning the show when everyone's energy and focus is at premium alert, is the BEST way to get people to actually pay attention and perhaps take notice of how great a song FFG is. And if she pulls it off well, then she's got you and for that reason, it is also brilliant to have Secret Love be the follow-up. Then people's attention spans normally start drifting by this point and this is where you hit them with something familiar and adored. I think she is very smart sequencing yet there are a couple of things I'd revisit if I were her like Rhiannon should go before Stand Back now.
I think we also have to remember the lady is almost 63 years old. Not that she is geriatric but her clothes and shoes probably support her joints and muscles and perhaps there is a solid reason behind them. As to her set-list. I think we have to keep in mind, her voice can be powerful but it doesn't have the endurance to sustain that power night after night so she doesn't do some songs because quite frankly, I don't think she is physically able to. Talk To Me and I Can't Wait she probably could handle one special night where she could go all out and then recover for a month. But vocally, no way can she put her voice through that every show. This is why I think she does not throw a lot of those gems we want in her set today. Still I realize she could still pull off some of them like Rooms On Fire but then that's where I think the next variable comes in and is what impacts these choices...her memory. She seems to get more anxiety and nervous the older she gets rather than more confident with the fact she is still beloved by so many. So doing new songs could add so much to her anxiety that it's too much for her. I mean I have only performed in musical theatre but I know what it's like to rehearse something for weeks and freak out in front of an audience and forget. I remember she said she forgot the words to Dreams of all songs during the filming of The Dance three times before she got it right and that being the song she should know the best means the panic is too much self-induced or not. So these same songs are a comfort to her and she must love to sing them and she has to have her reasons to want us to hear them again and not just for the money.
Percentage-wise I think getting one rare album cut per show fulfills the quota for the hardcore fans even tho we want more. My brother loves Stevie too but not as hardcore as I do yet he has an emotional connection to If Anyone Falls and he was devastated that she did not perform it for years. You know since 1991, it had been 14 or 16 years since it had been done and he was always heartbroken. Now that it's in the set, he would die if she dropped it. It is personal. For me it's Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You? That one was out when I was in high school and suffice it to say it saved me and I would do anything if she would never drop it. But she has. And I love Love Is as well, it's just not as personal. So I would take Love Is for the new album cut but I also want HAEWAFY.
One thing I think she needs to be better about is using her concerts to promote her work. This is why I hated her doing 10 million covers in setlists of old. And she should at least talk about her new album coming out and introduce Secret Love - tell us what it means to you Stevie and we'll tune into your new material. Promise.
Before I get off my soapbox lol, when I mentioned before she could re-visit her sequencing, obviously a lot has to do with what musically flows into the next but I think what also makes a HUGE impact is the "version" she does - meaning the energy she has emotionally and vocally. Rhiannon of yesteryear would have killed as the first encore. In fact, during the Whole Lotta Trouble Tour (Timespace) in '91 this was the encore and people were nervous she wouldn't play it (she had skipped it for the first and only time on her solo tour previous to that) and thus when people are starting to leave or feel let down, you hear those opening chords (she hit us with the rock version immediately) and instantly the electricity jolted out of everyone's bodies. It was such a smart move. But the toned down version we hear today is more anti-climatic than the golden years and has a different essence for the lack of a better word so it's served better earlier in the set. This, of course is all my humble opinion but I love to always put myself in her reeboks and try to understand her choices before I judge.
So once again I think FFG does work pacing-wise as first encore but nothing beats having a first encore that is rocking AND is familiar to people. They want to not have to pay that much attention to a new song and what lyrics she is saying or having the senses overloaded with something unknown. Most are drunk and happy and want the escapism of something familiar they love and would enjoy that the most me thinks. This is why I think Rhiannon worked back then in this slot and perhaps Stand Back would be better today in this slot. Although I do think it is smart to have it where it is now too because it reins you back in, in case you started to get bored. Which by the way, I don't understand a whole lot about criticizing her clothes. I mean you can look at pictures of her if you want to see what she looks like. Personally, I go to experience her voice, passion and mostly either close my eyes to listen to her or I stare only into her eyes to see what she is feeling along with listening to what she has to say. Those are my priorities and I rarely even notice her clothes to be honest.
I will say I am glad she dropped Rock N Roll but am sad she didn't replace it with a song of her own. I think the best openings of her shows were when her voice had the range and power to rock out to gems like Outside The Rain and segue into Dreams. Outside The Rain kicked major ass cuz of her vocal range, ad-libs, and octave jumps back in the day - but now she can't deliver it the same way and it fails as an opener - again imho. So if she were vocally sturdy, I would say: open with Outside The Rain/Dreams then FFG in the middle. Keep Stand Back where it is in the homestretch and first encore be I Can't Wait and if not Rhiannon. That would be great pacing with her younger voice. Realistically today, however, like I said I think FFG keep as opener. Have Whole Lotta Trouble where Stand Back is. And move Stand Back where Rock N Roll was. And if not, then at least do Enchanted as the first encore - at least we'd have something she composed or recorded. Gold And Braid would work - gives off same celebratory feeling that Don't Stop has as first encore in FM shows. Even Whole Lotta Trouble there would work. Stop Draggin' My Heart (and Soul) around lol. Just anything besides Rock N Roll, You Wreck Me, Face The Promise, or I Need To Know. But as for new stuff - let's hope she does a lot of her new album. On the IYD tour I can justify that and defend it to people like my brother who would be disappointed if she dropped some of her standards. But on this Rod tour - naw - that's going to be things she is comfortable with and/or the songs people are most familar with for the most part. I will see the tour because I want to hear Love Is and Secret Love and I'd hear them again and again because it is never the same for me - I experience emotion each time I hear her and that can NEVER get old to me. I purposely mention only solo songs cuz but I'd bring the same philosophy obviously to the FM shows. I think Seven Wonders with the opening chords or Sisters of the Moon would be a fantastic opening (if she vocally could handle) with Angel being perfect in the first encore slot.
And as for the hand gestures, I think she does that now cuz she's been criticized for being listless and not moving a whole lot. But if her poor feet or her hips hurt and/or her chronic fatigue is acting up, then arm gestures will obviously be her go-to move. I just wish she trusted her writing enough to know she doesn't need to tap dance around us. The raw emotion of her songs carry us and if she just allowed herself to feel her music more than mechanically demonstrate it, she'd have the allure she possessed when she first came on the scene. There were never choreographed moves per se then. Each show was in the moment and she could cry during a Landslide, or belt it out or whisper it and it all depended on the emotion she needed to express at that particular moment. No calculated gestures were ever needed then and it was pure bliss to experience her.
So I say bring on Sorcerer, bring on Secret Love, bring on Love Is, bring on Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind if that's what you want to sing, Stevie. Just lose the covers please and record The Dealer someday ;)
ok thanks for listening - obviously I am passionate about this topic lol
P.S. I think If You Ever Did Believe would be a fantastic opener :)

I like the idea of Rhiannon as an encore if she could pull off making it energetic again. Stand Back would also be a great encore! I also think she could do Blue Denim or Love Is Like A River to start the encore, which are lesser known, but they are her material and they kick ass! Sisters of the Moon would be the best encore EVER. Just saying...
Anywho, if Stevie ever pulled out If You Ever Did Believe, I would cream my pants.

@aperfectlie226 Its been 1 show why dont you calm down!!!
Bwwaaaahhhhhaaaaahahhhhaaaaahhhhaaaaaa!!!!!!! :laugh::laugh::laugh:
Good thing you weren't around before the May '05 Vegas shows. You would have been livid.
Paula, check the first post of this thread. The whole set is there...
Thanks, I see it now. Rod's wasn't there when I originally posted this. Thanks again for the play-by-play.
Ever since 2005 (the Vegas disappointment), I've learned to not get upset. It is what it is. Stevie changes very LITTLE of her live show. It's just the way it is. At least we got a new single and a new album (I never thought I would say that again).
And she has bangs again.
The woman could wear a trash bag for all I care...
She did - they're on her legs.
People keep talking about an In Your Dreams tour. Has it been announced? Did she confirm it and I missed it or something?
5 casino shows so far; don't think an offical tour announcement has been made. Not sure if there are going to be more...
Can we talk for just a second about the little crystal chain things that are dangling from her gloves?
How did I not notice those the first time I watched this? I love them!
I do too.

Stevie is SUPPOSED to look like this:

Not like this:

She is almost starting to look like a dominatrix with all the black leather and those dangly metal whip looking things on her gloves! :p
I'm just thankful she doesn't look like this...

Concert review: Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks take us back to the 1970’s at the St.
In the recent tradition of impressive package tours that have been making their way around the globe, a double-billing with plenty of star power — the Rod Stewart/Stevie Nicks “Heart & Soul” tour — kicked off at the St. Pete Times Forum in downtown Tampa on Wednesday night and gave all those in attendance more than their money’s worth.
In every right a headliner herself, Stevie Nicks, former frontwoman of the mega-successful Fleetwood Mac, took the stage first. Clad in all black, Nicks seemed joyous and eager to perform. It’s been a while since Stevie has concentrated on her very successful solo career; she’s spent more time focusing on Mac-related reunion projects and recordings. But Wednesday night it was all about Stevie doing what she does best as part of a supergroup or alone — captivating a rapt audience with her charm and positive aura.
Opening with “Fall From Grace,” a track off 2001’s Trouble in Shangri-La, it was obvious Stevie was in fine form and fine voice. Her unmistakable vocals resonated through the entire arena with clarity and force. Flanked by massive video screens on either side, her stage setup was somewhat sparse. A large screen at the rear of the stage flashed dazzling light displays, the occasional clip from any one of Stevie’s many music videos or quaint photo montages. Nicks’ show was more focused on her impressive catalog of music and her magnetic presence.
Reaching back into her canon, the very loud and appreciative crowd was treated with Fleetwood Mac chestnuts (”Rhiannon,” “Landslide”), classic solo hits (”Stand Back,” “If Anyone Falls”) and a preview of the forthcoming long-awaited solo album In Your Dreams (”Secret Love”).
The loudest and most raucous responses came towards the end of her 80-minute set. Her signature song, 1981’s “Edge of Seventeen,” turned into an extended, full-tilt jam with longtime lead guitarist Waddy Wachtel squeezing out some pretty impressive licks. A Led Zeppelin cover (”Rock and Roll”) took the crowd over the top. Nicks flawlessly switched gears from wispy ballads to this balls-out rocker like no one else can. Obviously impressed with the response she got all night, Nicks announced near the end of her set, “You’re the best audience … ever!”. Here’s hoping that with her forthcoming release, another stop in the Tampa Bay area will be part of a future solo tour.
As for Rod Stewart, his always over-the-top charmisma and presentation left little to be desired to his legions of (mostly female) fans. A massive curtain emblazoned with a take off on the old Soul Train graphics enveloped the stage as his band’s gear was being set up. The curtain dropped to reveal an enormous shiny white platform that boasted a 13-piece band, including a horn section, backup singers and percussionists. Rod Stewart never “sort of” does anything; he always seems to deliver in grand fashion — a trait that has gained him as many detractors as it has followers.
Opening with a cover of the O’Jays 1973 soul classic, “Love Train,” Rod showed his signature rasp and playfulness were both very much alive and well. Strutting across the stage as he has for most of his long, illustrious career (well … maybe not at the same speed) Stewart, the consummate showman, oozed the trademark appeal his fans have come to love him for. The 66-year old veteran looked as slim and fit as ever, and particularly dapper in his black slacks, bright yellow silk blazer and matching tie.
Diving headfirst into his pool of chart-toppers, Stewart then launched into his 1976 sultry tale of seduction, “Tonight’s The Night,” turning it into an audience sing-along. Many more memorable tunes followed: “Young Turks,” the Cat Stevens-penned “The First Cut Is The Deepest,” etc. A series of clunkers performed all in a row found a slight snag in the evening: Stewart’s take on the awful Bonnie Tyler hit from 1977, “It’s A Heartache” (which, ironically, everyone thought was a Rod Stewart song upon it’s release thanks to Tyler’s similar raspy pipes) and a pair of lackluster 1980’s hits, “Forever Young” and “Rhythm Of My Heart.”
The pace picked up again when Rod ripped into the Chuck Berry tune, “Sweet Little Rock ‘N’ Roller” (from his 1974 Smiler album) and returned to the party vibe of the evening.
And as he and his impressive large band kept the pace up following with the rockers “Hot Legs” (complete with Rod kicking dozens of soccer balls into the crowd) and his first big hit “Maggie May,” the evening came to an all-too-immediate close. The almost two-hour set seemed to fly by. The sole encore was a rushed, limp version of “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?”, Stewart’s million-selling 1978 foray into disco music. An old Faces-era nugget would have been more welcomed (personally) but hey, Rod Stewart has always been about pleasing the masses … and in that respect, you’d be hard pressed to find another entertainer who has consistently pleased his rabid fan base for the better part of four decades.

I think she made a grand impression with this reviewer. Very nice!

I love the fact that he said "balls-out rocker" and gave Stevie a good review! I hate that he called her the "former" frontwoman of Fleetwood Mac. Why do all these reporters seem to be so up to date with what songs came from what album and unknown info about her new album sometimes, yet still refer to her as being a FORMER member of Fleetwood Mac??
