I don't know if anybody has noticed this, but I have been looking at In Your Dreams on Amazon quite a bit lately just to see where it is ranked (as of this post it is #348 in music!) Anywho, when it was first posted back in January, its price was $17 and some change. Then yesterday it was $16 something, and before I went to work today it was down to $15 something and now it is $14.95. What gives?

$17 seems really expensive for just a regular CD, to me.... personally.

I'm sure that there could be many factors for this, but generally speaking I believe that when price goes down for a product, demand goes up...

It will come down as we get closer to the release date. It's possible that they will have a "deluxe" version price , which could include additional bonus studio songs or "live" material that Stevie could be recording while she's in rehearsals - like FM did for the SYW deluxe edition.

Many new releases in addition to bonus studio tracks also include live or stripped down acoustic versions of songs to market "exclusive editions" to die hard fans. I'm expecting Stevie to do one or both of what I mentioned for In Your Dreams, since we know that there are at least 2 songs that got kicked off IYD and maybe 3 if the official track list ends up having 12 tracks. Because we know that Cheaper Than Free kicked off another track at the last minute, when we knew that 14 songs were in the can. So it's safe to say 15 total tracks (including CTF) were recorded for this project at a minimum.

And Cheaper Than Free was completely written by Dave Stewart, right? Geez, that really, really bugs me that there will be ANY songs on this record that weren't written at least in part by Stevie. It's been ten years since her last solo record. That's a long freaking time for fans to wait and wonder. I'm thrilled IYD even exists but having even one song replace a Stevie Nicks creation seems utterly wrong.

I cant be 100% certain, But I understood that CTF is a collaboration, and Stevie probably wrote some if not all the lyrics?

So actually you have it backwards, this will be the FIRST Stevie solo record where Stevie has either solely written or co-written w. Dave Stewart, Mike Campbell and possibly Glen Ballard every single track on the record. There does not appear to be ANY covers.

Yes, I have noticed, and amazon always does that. The price starts out really high and then when it nears release time it goes lower.

Adele's CD 21 is only $9.99 on amazon.com, Stevie's CD will probably be that soon.

I just wonder why. They have a prive guarantee, where if you preorder it and the price goes down you get it at the cheaper price. Why waste their time? And why drop it a dollar a day three days in a row? Oh companies these days.

Well aren't those albums already sold to Amazon? Does it matter if it more anyway? The higher prices just mean a mark-up for Amazon. I don't know if she would benefit or not. And they are doing it to all the artists. Those CDs have to compete with itunes.

all the time for cd's they expect to be good online sellers so as to be competitive against other online retailers. The closer to a release date the more they will drop the price on amazon.

WB has always been $12.99, and guaranteed on or before street release date. That's a great deal! I ordered mine the first day it was available! :)

Dave has already said that Stevie co~wrote the lyrics to "Cheaper Than Free"...

Yes, the song is co-written and I ordered from Warners too. I hope it arrives a month early. :)

Well it's about time. Her competition has been 8.99 and 9.99. Stevie has been almost 15 forever.
