View Full Version : Official Track Listing
Thanks to bleudenim who originally posted this in the "New Album Track Listing (updated)" thread...
Just thought I'd repost in a new thread since the original one is fairly lengthy and full of speculations. I guess we can put the speculations to rest since we apparently have an official track listing:

As I just posted in the other "track list" thread, I tweeted Dave a few minutes ago:
Me:
@DaveStewart A NZ-based retailer has a tracklisting posted...did the New Orleans song not make the final cut?
Dave:
@jtwill84 he must have it wrong
So perhaps that list is not completely accurate.

Ok the first eight songs listed here are in the exact order that the people that attended the event last month in San Diego said that they were played in so i'm thinking this could be accurate.

I'm pretty sure that's not on Dave's album, which was pre-released last year on vinyl sans "Cheaper Than Free."

That is a list from wikipedia. It's one track short.
Liz Rozenberg's press release states that Stewart and Nicks co-wrote 7 of the disc's 13 songs.

And yes, they recorded atleast 14 songs, if not 15!

hmmm, that's a great question. Is it possible that the Ghosts is Gone is the New Orleans song. You see Stevie said that three songs she totally wrote herself are on the album. Secret Love, Italalian Summer and Soldiers Angel. She used two Campbell tracks for her lyrics—For What it is Worth and The Ghosts is Gone. Possible one of them could be the New Orleans song.

I'm sure Stevie mentioned that she had cowritten "The Ghosts are Gone" with UK singer Amanda Ghost, it is also described as a rocker by all that have heard it.There is a snippet of the New Orleans song that she performs onstage with Fleetwood Mac on youtube ..it is kind of a slow song.I'm starting to think it may not have made the cut and this is the final tracklist.

I don't want to step on anyone's toes over here, but it's not up to me to post the tracklisting, not until Stevie's camp reveals it. Though it's probably too late now, while the person cannot provide a tracklist, they might be able to verify if the one on that website is wrong in other ways than just missing New Orleans... not even being specific, just saying if it's wrong (if it IS right, then she wouldn't be responsible for having given the goods). But oh well... doesn't much matter. How many days til drop?

Sorry you feel that way, but you must understand, most of us come to the Ledge to share up to the minute information, but there is usually some semblance of credibility to back it up. So whether or not your intentions were good and to inform, it's still a little frustrating to get unsubstantiated information and is to be taken with a grain of salt. Perhaps you work for Warners or know someone close to the project and have been lurking and want to protect something? But for me, it ultimately does not matter at this point because all will be revealed very soon anyhow - we're just days or weeks away from having the official track-list.
Understand, I'm not calling you or FM77 liars, I'm just venting about how your unverified information comes across to some of us. At Sunset Sessions in Feb, Stevie previewed the 1st 8 tracks from IYD, and the "New Orleans" song was not in that preview and certainly was not the 5th track played. So perhaps it was added at the last minute, or Stevie previewed certain songs out of sequence. Time will tell.

As mentioned earlier, "The ghosts are gone" is not the New Orleans song.
And the trackilst must be wrong because in San Diego she said Italian Summer was the second-to-last song on the album.

The rest of us are excited, but sorta in hell waiting for thing. It's like we are fighting for scraps. I really wish this CD was moved up a month. It should of came out in March.

Agreed, jwd. Hey, I leaked some unreleased Stevie recordings (not generally had by most fans) in 1997 ~ I did it through an overseas source even, to protect my identity. My source found out, immediately cut me off, and never spoke to me again.
So, I never begrudge someone for trying to share a little Stevie info, without getting themselves into hot water.
If "New Orleans" is on the record, and is the 5th song, I'll get a little chuckle. And I'll ROTFLMFAO over & over if FM77's line is in one of the songs, too:
"I used to think
You were an angel..."

We've been over that line several times. It's not from "Ooh My Love" ~
"There was a time
When he called her 'angel'..."
Or any other "angel" reference we could produce. FM77 said it's ~
"I used to think
You were an angel..."
And he said it was at the end of the chorus, and he thought it might have been a Vault song, since it had that Old Stevie Sound to him. We quoted endless "angel" lyrics to him, and it was none of those, he said.
If it's on the album, FM77 was on the up and up about that.

I was thinking the same thing! The live clip I heard seemed to be all about Mardi Gras- you'd think she could come up with some festive title for it. There's nothing more festive than Mardi Gras! Cool Thanks 4 finding. The verse she previewed & sang acapella in New Orleans on the Unleashed 09' tour sounded a bit bluesy to my ears.
"I want to get back to New Orleans....
I want to sing out in the streets of the French Quarter.
I wanna dress up, I want to wear beads...
I want to wear feathers and lace.
I want to brush by the vampires...and go down Bourbon Street."

I wonder if her song will be festive with all the vampires running around
I had totally forgotten about the 'Vampires' line- Lots of Vampires on this album! Very apropos for nocturnal Stevie!

Yeah..as nocturnal as she has always been she has taken quite awhile to embrace her inner vampire..but it fits right in with the cuurent pop culture so smart move I suppose.

Aren't these vampires the ones Tom Petty was writing about in "Free Falling"?
All the vampires, walking through the valley
Move west down Ventura Boulevard
Isn't Stevie talking about all the goth kids in New York City, New Orleans, or the San Fernando Valley?
Or is this a homage to Anne Rice & Stephenie Meyer?

Stevie should have done a Red Riding Hood album instead of Alice In Wonderland.

The vampire reference in the "New Orleans" lyric would refer to Anne Rice, whereas "Moonlight" would refer to Stephenie Meyer's vamps.

Also, "I am a cliff dweller from the old school" I thought, my god, only Stevie would write that. :))
Sorry I'm having a complete dumbass blank moment - what song is that line from??
