So glad you're in Rio. Were you there for Carnival?

I went to Carnivale a few years ago.

And people think Mardi Gras is a party.

No, I got here yesterday, right after carnival ended. Thatīs why my package was so cheap. A week air and hotel plus tours for $1,400.

From what I've read before I've always got the impression one could come home with more than sweet memories if getting involved with some of those Brazilian men or women.

Just spent the last half hour standing by myself at waterīs edge on Copacabana beach and watching the waves crashing and feeling the salt air was one of those moments I hope you all can experience in your life.:)

Sounds like you're having fun and I know how you feel. And I never had to leave the U.S. for it :)

Same here. I just spent the afternoon at a little dive restaurant and bar up on Lake Travis outside of Austin, and it was one of the most purifying days of my life! :D There is just something about water that centers me totally and completely.

That looks nice Louie. Yeah for me there's a million and one things to see and do right here at home so I never felt the need to spend 20 hours on a plane to see some foreign land. But I guess some are more adventurous in life. I just like the beauty we have right here. I'd feel out of place and lost overseas somewhere.

I was about to ask if that's the Oasis but I guess the chair answers my question.
Hopefully the drinks are priced more reasonably than at the Oasis.

Yeah, the Oasis is the touristy spot on Lake Travis... hence the tourist prices :). The other restaurants and bars on the lake have WAY better food and drinks for much less money. Carlos and Charlie's is where I went today. The Iguana Grill is probably my fav spot on the lake... the view is nearly as good as the Oasis, but the food and drinks are better and cheaper, and it's more intimate and less overrun. I could go on and on about places on Lake Travis, as I grew up there. But I'll stop now since this is a thread about Rio!

Does the menu on the table that reads Carlos and Charlie's give you a better idea of where he was than the chairs do?
