It's just been announced on absolute radio Stevie will be at hard rock calling with Rod this summer in London!!!!!

I don't want to burst any bubbles, but I think the radio announcer may have gotten mixed up with his upcoming North American tour with Stevie and the current announcement of Hard Rock Calling with Rod headlining... Rod's headlining date there on Sunday June 26th has been announced, but no mention of Stevie.

http://www.hardrockcalling.co.uk/2011/news/general/rod_stewart_to_headline_sunday_night_in_hyde_park

Granted there is always the possibility that she may pop up, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Don’t worry its page three of the London Metro newspaper this morning Rod Stewart with special guest Stevie Nicks.......Hard Rock Calling concerts are an all weekend festival with usually up to three or four acts doing proper sets ( Bonjovi are the day before)….so Stevie will almost certainly be doing a set of at least 8-9 songs I would have thought…. Stevie performing in Hyde Park London… what can I say but WOW!!!...Finally we have her solo in the UK after 22 long years !:blob2:

Haha I know you aren't! But seeing as Rod has several dates in the UK, I'm sure Stevie will accompany him for several UK dates and be gone with Rod until God knows when and then never come back and tour the US properly. Oh, this hurts my everything :distress:

He has other dates lined up here around that time?

From what I can see Rod's other dates are early June...way before Hyde Park. So Stevie would probably not even be here. It looks like the Hyde Park one is the last one

Mind you if she's coming all this way it would be nice if she could do some solo gigs. Wishful thinking...lol

Stevie Nicks has been announced as the latest addition to Hard Rock Calling.

Stevie Nicks will grace Hyde Park as support to Rod Steward when she plays London's Hyde Park on Sunday 265th June. The former Fleetwood Mac superstar is the second artist to be confirmed for that day with many more yet to be announced.

Day tickets for the Sunday will be priced at £55, and will go on sale at 9am on Friday 11th March, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.

Hard Rock Calling is an established London open air music event which showcases well known international acts, and a few legends over three days, and has a genuine festival feel to it.

The dates for the three days of Hard Rock Calling 2011 are from Friday 24th until Sunday 26th June with gates expected to open at 1pm, the music starting at 3pm, and ending at approximately 10:30pm on all three days.

Bon Jovi have previously been announced as Saturday night headliners. Day tickets are already available for Saturday, priced at £59. To buy tickets, click here.

I can't see her bringing all her stuff just for one gig... There'll be more.

I have a feeling Stevie and Dave are going to do something over there this Summer... He keeps talking about some big surprise or something for June... Dave will likely be over there around the same time. The play Ghost The Musical begins previews in London on June 22nd... Opens in July... I bet he's there for the previews. So it's the perfect opportunity for them to do something over there... Both their albums will be out.

I did twitter dave on Monday as follows:
@davestewart - the way things are going now do you think there is any chance you and Stevie will do some concerts in UK this year?

his response
@StandbackLiza I'm not sure maybe !

So heres hoping - I just can not imagine Stevie bring all her crew etc and only doing one date - that just doesn't sound right!!

So excited Stevie in London :blob1: omg solo !!!

YEEEESSSSSS!! That day is the day after my friend's wedding though so if I can get there from Yorkshire on time, depending on Sunday train times- I WILL BE THERE!!

Update: AAAGHHHH! I can get presale ticket on tomorrow but I don't know if I'll be able to get from Yourkshire to London by train in good time that Sunday. It's a bit of a journey and too far in advance for the fares/times to show up. I don;t want to buy the ticket to find out I can't go. Much rather wait for an actual solo date or 2 but I might just have to take what I can get...

Me too! I can't believe the bad timing of this for me, lol. My friends live in the middle of nowhere in Yorkshire and timing trains could be very difficult. It can't be helped but it's annoying. Any other day of the year and I could manage easier. No way... I'll keep you all posted though!

That's true, Bon Jovi are really popular in the UK when they tour and they charge extortionate amounts for their gigs, you would have thought that at £66 for their day at Hyde Park they'd have all gone by now. Maybe it's because it's an outdoor, festival type gig that's putting some people off?

It is a gamble to take attending this gig, the cost of the ticket and travel to London etc, but you really can't be sure she'll tour here, with or without Dave or Rod. I'm not taking that chance, I'll be there on 26th June!

OMG, that's a wonderfully intimate venue. But after playing so many nights at Wembley with FM, I would imagine Stevie herself could play a single night there by herself. London is such a massive city; I think way more than 2,000 people would want to see her. But then again, maybe she will be making several little stops. Too bad there are no casinos in London!

There's actually one in Leicester Square, The Empire! Maybe that's the rumoured Empire she's playing not Shepherd's Bush

I don't know about the Shepherd's Bush Empire rumour. Last time Tom Petty played here, about 10 years ago, that's where I saw him. He played two nights there. Sheryl Crow has also played there a few times and she can sell out bigger venues too. So I don't know, it's possible.

It seems now to be the fashion to play the smaller venues. Bryan Adams recently played St. Georges Hall in Bradford (of all places), which is a little 800 seat place, and it has been known for bands to play both the MEN arena and apollo theatre in Manchester on the same tour. FINGERS CROSSED

Haha my problem isn't that shes going to the UK. I think it'd be really smart for her and Dave to hit the UK first, that way the marketing and name can sell the album here in the US and then touring the US in Aug-Oct would provide another boost in sales. My problem is that she is going to the UK with Rod in late June. I find it hard to believe they wont be adding any other dates between late April until then. So my fear is they will add a few more over priced US shows and then an 15 or so dates of UK and elsewhere shows and then in Stevie's eyes that will be a proper tour. Stevie has "confirmed" many thing in her career that turned out to not be true and her last interview she stated that the Rod stint would be over before her album drops and shes sure they will then hit her with the schedule of her new tour. The only thing she confirmed is that she really has no clue what her management has planned and she is just going along for the ride.

I think it's fantastic Stevie if finally doing a UK gig! I think she should add a few more. Not only is it great advertising for In Your Dreams - I'm sure she will do some press while she's there to promote her new CD - plus it's great for Europe starved Stevie fans to finally see a solo tour after 22 years!

I'm wondering after April's Heart & Soul dates commence, That Stevie will be going deep into a US press & media tour all through May for IYD release. Makes sense to hit the UK in June, and give some room between the H & S spring dates and when she kicks off her official In Your Dreams US solo tour probably in mid -July through September-ish. Who the heck knows, she's probably wingin' it, and striking where the irons hot!

Cost wise I could manage but it's more of a logistical issue because of the date itsef. It's really annoying! I have my best friends wedding the day before *2 of them are getting married to each other! and I'm giving a reading. Then ther party. Then I'll have to get from the North of England to London on a Sunday which, as anyone in the UK will tell you, is not easy with our dumbass trains. They live in the middle of nohere as well so it would mean having to get from theirs to the station. I'll be planning it, am thinking of it all right now, but may just see her when I visit the US this year sometime - which I plan on doing. I've saved for a trip and would plan it around the gig. I'll keep you all posted though!

I'll bethere if at all possible and certainly at any other UK/European date! I'm escited! I WILL SEE HET THIS YEAR - NO MATTER WHERE! Hurrah!

Well, a plane leaving for London is still a long way to go and too far from Home. But hey, she is playing Europe!

So to all the US-people: You had your share the last 22 years, now it's our turn.

Even if Stevie is not very known or popular overhere, it's great news. I'm in doubt en probably debt if I will go. It's very tempting, but then I think we have to wait a little longer...because you don't fly all the way to London with all of your gear, bandmembers and entourage to do just a couple of songs on a festival as a guest-act.

So there must be some extra performances in the pipeline. Anyone has a list of festivals on the mainland available?

blackdove
03-11-2011, 09:51 AM
You know the Glastonbury Festival is the same weekend as Hard Rock Calling and often the acts playing Hard Rock are also on the bill of Glastonbury. I wonder if there's a chance Stevie is playing that too. That would certainly make the trip worth her while.

I doubt that will happen. The sort of act that Stevie is usually appears on the Sunday at Glastonbury, because Hard Rock is the Sunday it's not likely to happen...but you never know for sure!

I don't think she'll sell out large arena's in Europe. Back in 1989 the Rotterdam Ahoy' was onlt half filled (3000 people). and she had a hit-single back then, I think that will be her max in each country overhere...

But, I'm really really considering coming over to London in June. To go by train (Eurostar) through the Eurotunnel seems to be the cheapest route. Ok, It'll take a little longer but still...

Does anyone has a clue what time she'll perform. I'm planning on travelling on sundaymorning. It'll take me up to 5 hours to get there from my hometown.

Now find an reasonable hotel as well.

That's probably why she never wants to tour there.

Not really. She could still play venues like the HMV Apollo in London, Carling Apollo Manchester, Birmingham Symphony Hall and a few others in between that hold a good 3-4 thousand people. She'd sell out no problem at those and still make some money from it.

Hear hear! This is what I've been trying to convince people of, and the reason I get so mad when she doesn't bother. She'd also easily sell out Shepherds Bush and (dare I hope) Glasgow Carling Academy.
