@DaveStewart I have happily appointed myself as the In Your Dreams Fire Captain. I will explain in next tweet ...
jkmaletic
@DaveStewart on a VERY popular Stevie/FM site fans have been getting cranky about the hastened release of IYD. (Cont..)
jkmaletic
@DaveStewart this has now led to skepticism regarding IYD's potential as a great Stevie Nicks album. (Cont..)
jkmaletic
@DaveStewart having attended sunset sessions I got 2 hear 8 tracks plus see the sizzle reel and have been reassuring them. (Cont..)
jkmaletic
@DaveStewart But I'm beginning to run out of "water" for these "fires" as I call them. Releasing the Sizzle Reel woud help greatly! (Cont
jkmaletic
@DaveStewart until then, I promise to strongly uphold my position as Fire Captain. (Self-appointed) ;) Thanks Mr. Stewart !
DaveStewart
@jkmaletic why ? Album is amazing
jkmaletic
@DaveStewart I know it is, I heard 8 tracks. U did a fabulous job. They just need more patience. Until then, I will fight the "fires":)
DaveStewart
@jkmaletic Ha great thanks you were at San Diego then
jkmaletic
@DaveStewart yes I was at San Diego. Please release the sizzle reel as soon as they let you. That will help the cranky fans tremendously. :)

Well, at least Jamie is trying. Kudo's for that! And she did not come across as a sycophant.
Unfortunately, It's out of Dave's hands and fully in Warners court. But perhaps Dave can wield some influence to someone who has some power.

Yeah, this is so frustrating, not sure what the hold up is over at Warners. I mean for crying out loud, at least get the cover art and official track listing out there.
I really hope the video gets released this coming week.

I didn't get the impression that anyone felt that because the album hasn't been released yet it won't be good, so I'm not sure why that message was conveyed to Dave. For one thing "Hastened" means rushed, not delayed. Also the album has only been pushed back one time, and even so, it's the fastest we've really gotten a new Stevie Nicks album (from the time we learned of it, to the time we'll actually have it).
I think that tweet exchange comes across as a bit obsessive, and puts a lot of people in a negative light. It reminds me of that old Christmas cartoon "Twas the Night Before Christmas" where the one mouse sends Santa a letter saying "no one" believes in him, so Santa gets pissed and doesn't come.

For one thing, I am impatient for information. However, it is really ridiculous to me that people are whining and moaning that Stevie and Dave took a long time on this album. Not really! The album got pushed back and when it did, they were able to make some careful decisions instead of rushing it. The album has been done for awhile. I think Stevie is having a hard time choosing the cover pic and maybe kicking a tune off the album. Both of them are extremely busy people. If the album were slated for March, they would of made these decisions earlier. Now they have some time before the **** hits the fan.
I keep asking for the same information you guys too. I keep waiting for something to drop. In my experience though it's not going to change anything.
I'll be sooo happy when I finally get this album, because all of this crap will be out of the way. I want to judge the album FOR MYSELF. The he said or she said this album is great doesn't fly with me. If it really a good album I'll be extremely happy. But if it is, then the excuses are going to start as to why she didn't write all the songs herself. You know what I mean... more stuff will come up to complain about. Album Sales, Bad Management, the same BS that goes on with fans... blah blah

Shoot- "hastened " does mean slowed, what the heck was I thinking? ? But I'm pretty sure he knew what I meant.
I really hope we see something soon.

Agreed on all accounts. We need to be grateful for what we have. Dave has been a GODSEND for us during this period of time and has provided us with a lot of information that we wouldn't have otherwise. If I were him, I'd be reluctant to let out as many tidbits if people were getting "cranky" about it...

Well said Dani. Don't bite the hand that's feeding us! I think behaviour like this is one of the reasons that Stevie is reluctant to engage with social networking and the internet in general. Dave doesn't have to do keep us updates the way he has been. If people continue to harass and b***h at him he'll just stop altogether and we'll only have ourselves to blame. Or, more accurately, a particular group of fans. Thank him and give the guy a break!

DEFINITELY self-appointed. I just thought it was funny, that's all. And I wasn't trying to represent anyone but myself. I didnt provide the name of the site i was referring to. I was just trying to relay some frustrations hoping it would help in some miraculous way.
I guess it's all up to WB as mentioned above.

Ok, this is just going a bit too far. There is no reason to resort to name calling.
I personally felt Jamie's tweets were very tongue in cheek. It was @jobieadobie1 comments on twitter that were rude and went a bit too far imo. The tone on the Ledge was getting a bit tense around when the heck fans were going to see the SL video or trailer aka "sizzle reel".
Lets put this in perspective. Yes, while Dave has been a saint with info/pics and general tidbits. He also sent out straight up ambiguous tweets AND fired off his mouth too early on twitter. He practically promised a trailer for In Your Dreams would be released a few weeks ago, then ate a crow sandwich when Warners said NO, as well as saying the video for Secret Love was about 2 weeks out - 2 weeks ago, and then repeated the same thing again this Friday!?! So Dave is responsible for our expectations right or wrong.
That said, I think everyone should just calm down and give Jamie a break, she got the message. And remember she gave us great info herself after witnessing the IYD's preview 2 weeks ago. This is not the end of the world, its just twitter:rolleyes:

She's trying to get info from him. It doesn't matter. He basically said it's in Warner hands now. He just finished an album with Josh Stone in like record time. He's mindful of Stevie's fans and he does try to keep us informed but he's working with other artists too and they have their own fans.
He did a good job for us.

I'm pretty sure Dave knows Jamie wasn't speaking for all of Stevie's fans, or even all of us on The Ledge.Guys like Dave & Sheryl Crow & Tom Petty all know how tootie-fruity Stevie fans are. It's music industry knowledge that, by agreeing to work with Stevie, you contractually agree to tolerate her tootie-fruity world & all its denizens.

If nothing else has come from this thread, at least we've gained use of the phrases 'tootie-fruity' and 'eat a crow sandwich' (the latter of which is my new favourite). :D

It's not like there aren't other artists and music to listen to until this album of Stevie's drops.

idk, it took me a few minutes to figure out the initial complaint here. When I read:
"on a VERY popular Stevie/FM site fans have been getting cranky about the hastened release of IYD. this has now led to skepticism regarding IYD's potential as a great Stevie Nicks album"
I thought it sounded like this person is saying that her fans were complaining and worrying that the cd was coming out too soon, too fast, and so we were doubting it being that good, since it was being rushed/hastened. Being quick, rather than awesome.
Then he asks - "you were in San Diego then?" I felt like he was thinking, uh-oh, how did this nut get in? lol! Sorry. That was just what first came to my mind when I read this.

Hmmm. I didn't read it that way at all. I described the event I went to as Sunset Sessions, which is what it was called. He probably mentioned San Diego because that might have been all Stevie's people mentioned to him (which is where it was held).

you don't suck. we've heard interesting news from you.
i figure the tweets are up for personal interpretation because we all read it in our own way. that's one of the rough parts of emails/tweets/texts. Like when I get an email from a best friend who i spend lots of time with in everyday life, i can picture their tone, angle from where they are coming from, etc. but when it's from someone i don't know well or not at all, you only have your own feel to read it in, you know what i mean? when i read something from a bff i can picture their voice, how they talk, and all that. and even then you can totally misinterpret or misread something. it can make something funny or can make something totally the opposite of what the intention was.
