Stevie Nicks will release, “In Your Dreams,” her first solo album in 10 years on May 3. Nicks recorded “In Your Dreams” in her Los Angeles home with co-producers Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard.

Stewart, best known as half of Eurythmics, says recording with Nicks was an absolute joy. “We co-wrote right or nine songs together,” he tells Hitfix, seven of which ultimately ended up on the album. “After the second or third song, she said I’ve never sat together and written with someone in my life. It’s an amazing album.”

Nicks, who inspired a generation of singers, is the last artist who will be chasing trends, Stewart says. “It’s not like trying to answer or compete with any pop market.”

Stewart says he learned much about Nicks and her craft. “I learned how incredibly focused she is and how unbelievably committed she is to her art form and includes the words, research, her obsession with poets like Edgar Allan Poe and all the details.”

Nicks is prepping for a North American tour with co-headliner Rod Stewart. The Heart & Soul Tour kicks off March 20 at the Bank Atlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

I was wondering the same thing.

I re-read it several times but I can't figure out what in the world that means, or where the typo is if there is one..

oh, duh. now I feel really stupid for not realizing that haha.

I really want to hear a song that Dave and Stevie co-wrote to get a feel for how the majority of the album will be..

Yes, I concur. I would really love to hear a whole song that they co-wrote as opposed to the tiny snippet of "Everybody Loves You". Oh well, May 3rd is right around the corner practically. Stevie hits the road in 2 1/2 weeks. I think we will be hit with a barrage of info, videos and song snippets very soon.:)

What really struck me was Dave's assessment where he stated Stevie "is the last artist who will be chasing trends, “It’s not like trying to answer or compete with any pop market.”

I for one am happy that it sounds like Stevie stood by her instincts to make a timeless record that she would love, as opposed to listening to the powers that be who in the past coerced her into recording songs by others because she could not write a so called "hit" or a BonJovi/Bret Michaels song, or even collaborating with the latest female singer-songwriters du jour. It's sounding like this record will be a breath of fresh spring air. Ahhhhhh:thumbsup:

I'm glad that it was two of her collabs that got axed. I still hope they find their way out tho!
