These could go in the demo request thread, but I wanted to make them apparent to those not looking, but maybe interested on impulse.

All are MP3 - the tracks in BLUE font are the ones I consider 'must haves' if you like this song.

Lady From The Mountain "Work Tape"
Undated - 1:07:52 running time, broken into 12 random tracks - no further info available

3/11/79 Session Demo - "Lady From The Mountain Part 2"

6/1/79 Session, Partial Demo "I could write great wedding songs"
Stevie only plays part of the song; she seems kind of pissy with whoever she's playing for - Hernan, I think. She
says, "Noooo, that is NOT called Creature of the Night" So I think "Creature of the Night" might have been the
original or working title for Outside The Rain

This is one of them I have from the Tusk sessions labeled "Lady From the Mountain Tusk Take 2" so it could be the same as your Part 2:

I really have fallen in love with this demo since hearing parts of LFTM on the new album. In the past it was never a favorite demo.

Thanks so much for posting these! It's so interesting that she's obviously tried over and over to record this, but it just never came to fruition. I'm so excited to hear this when the record comes out!

I'll download these later - my laptop is on its deathbed. I think I've only ever heard the RAL versions of LFTM.

This sounds like it may be an excerpt from the Work Tape, the first link I posted (maybe an edit of Track 11 from that reel). However, it sounds like it was played back yet again and had another layer of backing vocals added to it, especially towards the ending.

Oh cool. So it's different than the ones you posted? Was this track possibly going to be on Tusk?

Hard to tell. It's different in some places, but seems to be the same original track that is being played back on the Work Tape. Same recording - different point in time with embellishments. Definitely raw, very raw, and nowhere near being an album track.

Thanks for sharing these. I've downloaded the blue ones. It was really helpful of you to distinguish which ones are the best.

Thanks for posting, I had some of these. But I still think the best LFTM is the RAL era demo. Nothing beats the fire in her voice, it just elevates the song. My copy is ok, it clocks in at @4:44 but I believe there are some master reel copies circulating. Does anyone have a crystal clear master of that version?

I am really really curious to see what Stevie did to this composition - adding additional verses and a chorus?!! As well to see what Dave did on the production end. Since hearing that Moonlight (A Vampires Dream) has morphed from LFTM, I can't stop listening to this demo. I've always liked it but know I LOVE IT! And from all accounts, unless they played the 8 songs out of sequence at Sunset Sessions, it is the 1st song of the album. So having that distinction there must be a strong compelling reason to believe the track is good... very very good. Stevie has never kicked off her albums with a clunker  (Blue Denim was arguable the weakest albeit still good.)

I remember reading an interview with Stevie where she said that the opening track for each of her records HAS to be one of the best. It HAS to draw you in.

If "Moonlight" is indeed the opening track for IYD, then it excites me to think it will be a fantastic song. Here's hoping!

You're welcome! I know which version you mean, the one one from the 1/20/86 compilation reel. Not a true master recording but a second hand recording - albeit still the best quality version of a RAL-era LFTM available
